Tried that. I consistently get a "phone not support yet" error in iFont.

On what ROM?

Are you sure iFont still works? I tried to create font package with iFont and installed it, but when I tried to actually change to the font in settings, it says "Font not supported".

Using Android 10 on my Note 9 and have tried Wings and Gxfonts but neither work anymore. Anyone have any suggestions to get custom fonts on Android 10 please?

@GunnerGeezer
I was having the same problem after the latest update (Aug 2020 Security update) on ALEXNDR Rom.
Yesterday I found a way to install custom fonts in my N9.
The steps are as follows.
Install Zfont app from play store. Try installing the font normally. If it doesn't work and you are rooted with Magisk (of-course) try the following method. It worked fine for me.
But please make a back up of your ROM in recovery before flashing the font zip file | just-in-case |
Download your favorite fonts in .ttf format to the "zFont/Fonts" folder in your phone.
Then open the app and go to the right most option named "Local" on the top
Select your font there and press the "SET" button at the bottom
You will get a "Font Changing option"
Select appropriately. I tried both "Samsung" & "System Root" methods and did not work for me.
So I chose "Create Magisk module flashable zip"
Then chose "ENGLISH" and replace "ALL"
The app creates a magisk flashable zip in "zFont/Magisk" folder
Now open Magisk, select modules and selct the zip file in the zFont/Magisk folder and flash.
Reboot and voila!
Let me know if it all went well. Take care and have a great day!

Thanks for the reply. I'm not rooted as it messes with my banking app. So not sure if this will work for me.

[FONTS] Changing System Fonts on All Builds

I started this thread as a reference to everyone on how to change the system fonts for Android builds (both Sense and Cynogenmod based).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
These are methods that I know of :
1. Via Recovery Console which is not yet possible on present Android builds as we are running this off SD Cards and not NAND.
2. Via copying to specific directory on the SD Card and then booting Android. I found this the simplest and using this method.
3. While running Android, unmounting system, replacing font files and remounting /system. This method almost always gives me a error during remount of /system...dont know why
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have attached 2 fonts and how to convert your own is simple as illustrated below.
Android Font Folder :
(Your Android Folder on SD Card)\root\system\fonts
e.g. SDCARD\Android\root\system\fonts
Android System Font Names :
DroidSans.ttf
DroidSans-Bold.ttf
DroidSansFallback.ttf
DroidSansMono.ttf
DroidSerif-Bold.ttf
DroidSerif-BoldItalic.ttf
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
So all that is required is copy your favorite fonts to a temporary location on your PC and rename/make copies according to the above names (self- explanatory).
Copy these files to the font folder as illustrated above. Create the folder if it doesn't exist (like Sense builds).
Boot away Android !!
PS : I have tested both Calibri and Nokia font on the Desire HD build and it looks sweet
Nice. Thanks for the easy tutorial. You do not happen to have any screenshots of the fonts in action do you?
Thanks for a very simple easy to use tutorial

Not sure if it will work on these builds given that they are booting from WinMo but it would be worth a try. Download Typefresh, and Andexplorer from market. Open type fresh, grant superuser permission, make backup of current fonts, then click on font that you want to change from list. Andexplorer will open, navigate to folder that you have placed new fonts in and check appropriate font. Click apply fonts, reboot when prompted (this is where there could be a problem i think) and once rebooted your new fonts are installed. Works like a charm on Android phones ive had in past, including this current phone.

Hi, I copied the folder fonts to root/system via usb in windows mode.
After that I ran the Android as usual. But I didn't find any difference in font.
DroidSans.ttf
DroidSans-Bold.ttf
DroidSansFallback.ttf
DroidSansMono.ttf
DroidSerif-Bold.ttf
DroidSerif-BoldItalic.ttf

It does work as I tried it after reading another thread about fonts in Android here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=717548 and here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=797533. My question is, in one of those threads and mentions only needing to change the DroidSans-Bold.ttf and DroidSans.ttf. But, VBN says to change all listed in the first post. I guess my question is which one ensures all fonts are changed??
From what I have gathered till now....DroidSans.ttf and DroidSans-Bold.ttf are the most used but if others are not changed you may get artifacts in some part of dialogs, etc...
I am not 100% sure but those fonts are definitely there in stock ROMs
Ok, that's kind of what I was figuring. I mean, they wouldn't just be there for nothing. Not to mention, if you use Type Fresh to change fonts, it gives you the option to change the other font names you mentioned. But, you're not forced to. Actually, I loaded a font and it I guess Android didn't like it. So, it wouldn't finish booting. So, I had to copy one of your fonts into system...to get it to boot again. Just a tip for those that one to try Type Fresh and other fonts found around the forum.
Thanks VBN & Kwill for the font tips....

Nyanlone, did you get burmese font installed already? Let me know. I can help you.
You need to fix the permissions from root explorer. Just do this:
1- go to /system/fonts and long touch any original rom font (other than the one you copied) until the menu appears.
2- touch permissions
3- note the permissions (!!!DO NOT CHANGE THEM!!!)
4- close the menu and now take a look at the name of your ttf (the one that you copied) to ensure android didn't change its name when you first copied it. This happened once for me.
5- Repeat (1-3) this time on your copied file, this time DO change the permissions to match those noted in 3
5- close everything and reboot.
6- Do let me know if this fixed your problem.

1. Make sure your phone is rooted. (There are many one-click root applications, I used Universal Androot)
2. Download "Font Changer" app from Android Market.
3. Download Zawgyi font
4. Rename Zawgyi-One.ttf as "DroidSansFallback.ttf" and place it in a folder on SDCard, let's says "sdcard/fonts/DroidSansFallback.ttf"
5. Open "Font Changer" app, click "Advanced" tab. You will see list of current fonts in the system. Click on "DroidSansFallback.ttf", Click "Up", navigate to the folder you saved your font just now (sdcard/fonts) and select your font.
6. Click "Apply".

Dear Brother
I would like to ask help from you regarding myanmar font. I'm using Note 10.1 2014 Edition LTE Version, SM P605, Android 4.3 now. I always root and replace the ZawgyiOne.ttf with one of the fonts (DroidSans.ttf) under system/fonts folder for all my other previous android phones, Note 1, S2 and S3. Then, I can see myanmar font every where in my phone. I did the same way for my Note 10.1 2014 Edition but it doesn't work. I've tried to replace with DroidSans.ttf, DroidSansFallback.ttf, Roboto-Regular.ttf, GS45_Arab_AndroidOS, DroidSansEthiopic-Regular, DroidSansEthiopic-Regular, DroidSansEthiopic-Regular. But, I can't see myanamr font yet. If I use gmail from web browser, I can see myanmar font but if I open other myanmar website from browser, I can't see myanmar font. I can't also see myanamr font on Gmail app, Facebook app, SMS, Myanmar Keyboards. I've already tried with Zawgyi font softwares from Play store but it doesn't work. Could you kindly help me please? What should I do. Which font should I replace? I attached the system font lists and xml for your kind review.
Thanks you so much,
Aung Thu.

Make sure Install from Unknown Sources is checked in the Applications menu, though I think the message would say this if that was the problem. Then try deleting the market apk from /data/test/froyo/system/app (I think that's the location, look around in there for it), then reinstalling with the downloaded apk. If it still won't install, try copying the downloaded apk to the location you deleted the original market apk from, and see if market shows up again.

You can't mess with anything on /system without root. That's just a shortcut anyways. The file has to be in /data/test somewhere. It could also be called vending.apk.
Can you post the file here please.

3. Reboot
In Uruk or CM7:

2. use RootExplorer or Terminal to copy it to /system/app/Vending.apk
3. Reboot
does anyone know how to get all the apps working in the market using cm7?

How to install additional fonts on the LG G2?

You can change the fonts on this phone but it doesn't seem to be as easy as it was with the Galaxy 3. I tried installing font APKs and also font apps but they don't show up. I also tried putting a fonts folder on the SD card but no luck. Anyone know how to add additional fonts?

After you install the font, you can go into settings>display>fonts and set the font to Roboto and it will show your custom font.
In Font Installer, you can also pick one of the other fonts from the list to install over, and keep doing that until you have a whole list of custom fonts in settings. They will still have the original names but if you look at the preview you can tell what font it is.

I have a rooted OP8P running Magisk 21.0 (21000), and using Magisk Manager 8.0.2 (307)(11). My OS build is Oxygen OS 10.5.13.IN11AA(enhanced by xXx_NoLimits_ 12.1). I've only recently owned this phone and have taken my time with getting root access and getting other miscellaneous things set up. I'm pretty much all set to go save for one thing; I want to change the emojis to the old blob style, like the ones from Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
I have the appropriate NotoColorEmoji.ttf file that I want to overwrite the current one with, I've also backed up the current one as well. However, much to my dismay, I have learned that the system partition for devices running Android 10 is read only. To add insult to injury, I also found out that there is no way to mount it manually. The only cited way to be able to modify the system partition that I have found is to create a Magisk module, something I have no clue how to start doing.
Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that the Magisk modules that may have been created to circumvent this are now defunct(namely FontChanger by John Fawkes), and sadly have no resemblance of making a return.
So my question is, does anyone know of a way that I can overwrite the current emoji font .ttf file with the desired one? If not can someone point me to a resource that can give me a crash course on how to create a Magisk module so I can make it? I know this may seem like an insignificant gripe to get caught up on, but I am at a loss right now.
Thanks for any help offered!
You can use my iOS 14 emoji module.
Just replace the ttf file with yours and flash it in the Magisk Manager.
Also make sure to clear the cache of the keyboard which you are using.

Hello, thanks for your generous assistance! When you say "clear the cache", that would be covered by me simply restarting the phone correct? Or is there something else I need to do?
[Edit]
I just tried flashing your module after replacing the .ttf file with mine, and it returned an error stating that "This zip is not a Magisk Module! Installation failed". Any Idea why?

When you are repacking the zip make sure set the compression level as normal and use Magisk Manager to flash, not TWRP.
If you are using Gboard keyboard, make sure to clean the cache of the Gboard app from the app settings.

Any program in particular I should use? WinRAR ok?
[Edit]
I tried to recompress using WinRAR I set the compression level to normal and made sure it was a .zip file. Unfortunately, I still get the same result. Not sure what I am doing wrong here.
