Seeking Root for XHCN intel 9853 Head Unit - Android Head-Units

Hi all
I might have bought the only android device in the entire China, that is un-root-able. :crying:
It is a ZOYOSKII fra Aliekspress with following info:
10,4" screen
Android 9 PIE
CPU Info: CPU:Intel X86_OCTA-CORE 1.8Ghz SC9853 4+64Gb
MCU Version: 2019.10.15 09:51:58 XHCN_53_l82_G23P48F64_Ver:1.0
It seems like the "new" intel processors is not the most used in the industri.
The only other i have seen, is the Joying devices, but i havent been able to find a root that i dear to use on this unit.
Can you help with a root-build for this or can i use some allready-existing root?
Thanks.

There is no "ready to use" rooted build for any SC9853 unit.
You need to use the way as described in the Joying thread and build your own rooted boot.img.

Thanks for your reply.
At least i can make some kind of custom root.
Is it possible to backup the original firmware before i bring hell on it?

1st of all: You need to get in contact with your seller to get the OEM firmware.
2nd: Install the Joying Extra tools by @surfer63
3rd: continue with posting a screenshot from the extra tool

did you end up finding any information on this unit?
I bought one off of a friend that has the same information and I can't seem to get a few things working

Do you know the Security Code for this unit?
Have you got the latest build?

3368 is the code I believe

have you got something new for your head unit. my head unit also the same, I used joying firmware and root but not compatible

I have the same headunit, has anyone figured out how to root this device from this seller (ZOYOSKII)? I have multiple issues with the headunit, and would be great to collaborate. Another seller (Sinosmart) has the same unit, is the firmware / rooting process the same?

I have one of these too, i need to root so I am able to hide the navbar at the top.

Any updates on this? I just bought a used car with this already installed. I just want carplay and a newer version update.

Joying 10.1" 4.4.4 single din - MCU identify - 2016-06-27 14:48:19 JY_60_C6R_7706_500
Hi i have bought and installed this 10.1" car stereo running kitkat 4.4.4. The MCU of this device doesn't seem to be one of the two common ones discussed on here?
Under MCU version it says 2016-06-27 14:48:19 JY_60_C6R_7706_5006_CAN(A)_Newlap
Does this mean anything to anyone? Im new to android.
Things id like to change about my device is
- be able to play an apps (foxtel go) that says it won't play on a rooted device (if possible)
- increase the amount the screen can dim or be able to turn the screen off
no one? is this MCU version unknown to everyone?

I have a 7" 2 din joying HU with the same MCU version. I hope someone can help identify which group this is. Thanks.
same here
I too have the same issue.
I bought an 8" 1DIN 4.4.4 unit and also have an odd MCU name/version.

And also have the same issues that are listed in this thread.

None of this make sense.
I have posted these same things on Joying's forum and have only heard from other users. No one from Joying has chimed in yet.

Help rooting head unit

Hi all,
I have an Android head unit in my car running 6.0.1 Marshmallow, it's an Xtrons TCD629A.
About device returns:
Processor type - QuadCore-R16
Android version - 6.0.1
MCU version - 5.3.19-36-10-E50201-170215
System version - V7.3.1_20170505.204845_MLT1-DVD
DVD version - 2.13.15-1200xh-150417
Searching online it is very hard to find much information on this unit (I should have got an RK3188 based unit as there's a world of information about them).
So far I have tried: KingRoot, KingoRoot and One Click Root. None of which have provided root access after multiple attempts.
KingoRoot offers the most interesting result, it gets to 90% and pauses for a few minutes, then the screen flickers a bit and the unit restarts so it is obviously attempting something that doesn't agree with the unit, but at the same time isn't causing it any harm.
Does anybody have any advice which may help with rooting this device, or alternatively a pre-rooted restore image. In the case of flashing a pre-rooted image to the device, I am happy with anything from KitKat to Marshmallow.
Thank you in advance.
Xtrons TCD698A - have the same problem ?
Received TCD629A with no power harness, I don't mean to hijack this thread but are there another power harness that is compatible with this unit?

Android Head Unit Identification MCU ZHAN(NOR)

Hello,
i buyed a Taffio S200 Android Radio for my Opel Astra J with an Octa Core PX5 2GB Ram and 32Gb
Can anyone tell me how i come into the Recovery Mode? The Radio havn't any Buttons, only a small Reset Button. I tryed it with Terminal Emulator but it's rebooting i see a little bit like Recovery Menu but than it's rebooting again to Android.
I search a Custom Rom too, but i only read about MTCD and MTCE but my device shows MCU version: 2018-04-16 17:04:06 ZHAN_(NOR)_90_C9RD6686_CAN(A)PX5D1804160.
I couldn't find anything about this mcu.
Have anyone an idea how to root this device? I can't try a lot of things, because i can't restore a brick without Recovery Menu and stockrom.
Does your HU have a USB port? If so, plug in a USB keyboard, reboot/reset the device and try pressing Alt + Print Screen while tapping i or e (both works)

Yes, but it warmed up the device, it shows a countdown of 5 seconds but then it starts normally.

Have you tried enabling adb over Wifi on the device using https://hvdwolf.github.io/Joying-RootAssistant/ (or even rooting ~ some risk is there, so try the adb method first) and using an adb command to reboot to recovery?

The Joying Root Assistant didn't work for you to root the device?
Some firmwares lock you out of the recovery menu, where it can be only used for updating your firmware. Maybe that's why?

Your unit is a WINCA/ROADNAV manufactured S200 and it can be rooted. I know because I have exactly the same MCU firmware and probably the same Android build. Check out the rooting thread on the first page of this forum. In there is all the info you need.

I could but my stock ROM will most likely not work properly on your unit. Each ROM differs slightly from car to car with the WINCA units. It's daft but it's how they chose to design.

You are my last hope. The controls on the steering wheel do not work, not even the Parking Sensor. If it goes wrong, nothing will change. Could you backup and send me? I would be very grateful.

Please send me the link to where you purchased your unit as well as all you know about the manufacturer.
Mine too is ZHAN_(NOR) i bought it in Polish Reseller, original seller is bluepowercn.com, the name of the unit is GREATSO S200. Cannot find in Russian Forums and XDA any information about that ROM or UPDATES/MODS. Alie Store:
Bluepower Electronics co., ltd
youtube.com/watch?v=AEvCX2bomoA - info from Witson with same MCU, Ok Found mine it`s: W2-W279
Is it possible to upgarade or install mod rom to W2-W279? I have some issues with OBD2 connection via Bluetooth and Bluetotoh contacts storage plus minor bugs... cannot find on XDA if ZHAN_(NOR) is possible to upgrade or change of the stock rom.
DennisBa unit is W2-W072 - Opel Astra J - i think its the same brand and topic is consistent.
Olá,

Hi, my car is a Opel Astra J, too and I need to reflash the MCU. I flashed the wrong one... Can you share your MCU maybe? Thank you!
Or maybe someone could share this firmware to me like in the pictures? After flashing wrong MCU and newer system version, my Canbus Box and car won't be detected anymore.
I need this firmware with ZHAN(NOR) MCU (for Opel Astra J).
Anyone who can help me?
Please check out my own thread here:

Joying uses an alphabetical naming for newer models. Your JY-UM135P2 has been replaced by the JY-UO135P2 (if they follow their own naming scheme that is). It might be possible or not.

No, your units hardware is FYT based. The Hal9K is for MTCD units. If you're lucky it doesn't do anything. If not you will brick your unit.
And why can't you ask Joying? That sounds a little vague to be honest.

@surfer63
joying will not take any responsibility on the recommended rom to install.
My model is UM135P2. "M" means marshmallow
I found UO135P2. "O" means Oreo.
This is what I understand.
Do you think that if I try to install the firmware of UO135P2 can I brick my radio?
The specifications of my radio(mcu and more) are identical to this fact
https://www.joyingauto.com/joying-e...id-octa-core-px5-stereo-upgrade-2gb-32gb.html
Q: What's FYT based?

That M(arshmallow) and O(oreo) sounds very logical
I think your hardware is compatible, but I don't think they have a proper upgrade path. Some time ago a user also wanted to upgrade but got a bricked unit. Fortunately that was reversible by flashing the 6.0.1 ROM again.
Joying is a seller, not a manufacturer. There are 3 manufacturers: FYT, Microntek (MTCD/E), QD. They have different, incompatible hardware components and MCUs.
This is answer by Joying:
Android 8.0 firmware can not fit with your head unit, unless you purchase below Android 8.0 coreboard to upgrade your head unit to Android 8.0

I have spent 270 euro and i can't upgrade mu head unit? they are crazy.
The model UO135P2 have the same specifics.
Other answer by Joying:
The head unit you purchased is UM135P2 which is Android 6.0, can not upgrade to Android 8.0 directly by software, as their coreboard is different. Hope you can understand.
If you upgrade your head unit with Android 8.0 firmware directly without change coreboard, it may broken your head unit. Hope you can understand.

Unable to determine PX5 unit Model/manufacturer

Hello..
Recently I bought a PX5 Android headunit for my VW Golf MK5 .. Figured most of the things out. However I am unable to determine device particular model, as it is showing just PX5 in the About Device menu. Generally I am trying to find a way to get into Engineering Mode to play a bit with the microphone sensitivity settings. However I don't know how it is done for this device.
How can I identify the device model if at some point I need to perform firmware upgrade, and if somebody can tell me how I can get into the engineering settings. Already figured out the 0000 for factory settings.
Thanks

You have a obscure MCU but "It seems a S32F0 MCU based HU,
(...) The remaining is the same of any MCU with S32F0. You can try, at your own risk, to flash one of the S32F0 MCUs based on 7708 Radio Chip.
I get the same fake Android 11 **** ROM on mine and I succesfully updated to real Android 10 !
You can get real Android 10 with Online update watch here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/firmware-for-mcu-mf1.4273219/page-2#post-86791627
That is some useful information..
So it the Fake Device Test app reports that the real Android version is 10. So far any apps I am using on the device (music player and any nav apps) does not require any android version above 6. Are there any real benefits from flashing to a real Android 10 besides reporting the real version?
