BSNL Network Reception Issue with OnePlus 6T - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

Guys,
I need help with my network reception issue in OnePlus 6T.
To brief you about its history,
I believe this started from OS Update 9.0.17 where below change-log was introduced,
Re-activated the calling function after the network has been reset.
At present my device is with 10.3.0 OS which is Android 10 based.
In issue description,
1. In some cases I receive network but it will not at all working (like in-out call & SMS). For inbound calls, my device shows out of coverage and for outbound calls it just keep on trying connecting and then get disconnected.
2. In some cases I will not receive network reception itself.
3. Issue reported with BSNL Network only. I tried with 3 different BSNL SIM and issue remain same for all.
4. No other network is affected (irrespective of 2G/3G). I tested with Airtel & Vodafone, where its working with 2G & 3G both.
Troubleshooting steps,
1. Tried flashing device completely (From OS & Recovery Both) - No Solution
2. Tried downgrading OS to 9.0.4 - No Solution
3. Tried selecting 2G network manually - It throws error as selected network is not available.
4. Tried changing Network Reception Scope to GSM/WCDMA only for BSNL Network slot (SIM2) - No Solution
5. Tried using BSNL only in SIM1 slot (keeping SIM2 empty) - No Solution
6. These same SIM Cards (JIO & BSNL) are working fine presently in my another OnePlus 5 device.
7. Tried disabling DSDS (Dual SIM Dual Standby) from *#*#4636#*#* but its not getting deactivated & remained active always.
I verified with Network Cell Info Tool where this BSNL network is showing greyed out (I dont know what does that mean) but I believe its representing internal root cause of this issue.
In app, neighboring cell is also losing connectivity randomly and not steady for BSNL network only.

It seems I've hit the same issue with my OnePlus 6 since the last couple of days. Happened after I did a 'reset network settings'. No solution yet. I have changed to a new BSNL 4G SIM and had factory reset of the phone.
Now the phone is with the service centre.
How did you resolve this issue?

Signal Bars are Full but Unable to Call

Moto X Play dual SIM. Both SIMs are original (not cut) nano SIMs from two different GSM operators. The phone is not rooted, flashed / reflashed, everything is stock. Both signals bars are full but I am unable to make outgoing calls. I dial a number but no any sound coming from the earpiece - no tones or other party’s voice, nothing, just absolute silence. After some time I hear short “beep”, the line is automatically disconnected and the phone returns to standby. Same happens for both SIMs. I can temporary fix that problem by the phone OFF / ON and then it is possible to make calls. As far as I understand during OFF / ON the phone signs-out / signs-in into GSM networks and that fixes the problem. But after some time it returns again. I several times cleared cache partition and made one hard reset via Settings > Backup & Reset > Factory Data Reset. But that did not help. I also tried various settings for Preferred Network Type (4G, 3G) but that did not help as well.
Please assist.

Thank everybody. Trying to fix “unable to call” problem I was playing with various settings in *#*#4636#*#* menu and did the same mistake as in bablu048's link - I clicked USA band and had no network on SIM 1 (( Having checked I found only one solution – to reflash original ROM. Since I was unable to reflash myself I yesterday gave the phone to service shop and it is now not with me. Once the shop do not fix my phone I shall follow bablu048 advice and let you know the outcome.
I got the phone from the service and it is now working well. They did not tell me what they did, just took the money So, I do not know whether they reflashed complete official ROM of the radio only or somehow reset the radio etc. But GSM network on SIM 1 is back and no "unable to call" problem so far. Once I am again unable to call I will try what bablu048 suggested
Unfortunately "unable to call" is back I shall try bablu048 advice as soon as I can but once somebody have any other suggestions please advise ASAP.
Have you tried with 1 sim card only?
Sent from my XT1562 using XDA-Developers mobile app
No, I have not tried with one SIM only. Actually, that problem is intermittent and it is quite difficult to troubleshoot it. What seems to me is that I am usually unable to make calls when GSM mobile data is turned ON. At least, I cannot recall that I was unable to call when I was in the office or home where Wi-Fi was available.
Is that possible that 3G GSM data somehow prevents voice calls?
Troubleshooting the issue I noticed the following: "unable to call" problem is here when SIM 1 is used for mobile data. If I set SIM 2 as preferred SIM for mobile data the problem disappears. Before I always used SIM 1 for mobile data and faced the problem quite often. But after I turned mobile data on SIM 1 OFF and switched it ON on SIM 2 the phone is OK. Does anybody have an idea why this may happen? Can it be SIM 1 operator-related issue? Can something be wrong with the SIM card itself? Or there is a problem with the device software or hardware?
Sorry to inundate you with messages but I came across exactly the same situation on a Meizu forum. One user there was also unable to make / receive voice calls on two Meizu phones if he enables mobile data on SIM No. 1.
His first post was:
Hello guys. I am using a Meizu MX5 with 4.5.2.7A firmware. My carrier is Orange Romania and I have a problem.
Whenever I activate my data, especially 4G after about 30-45 minutes or so I cannot make/receive a phone call. When I try to place a call the phone sits in the dialing screen without any response, and when I try to call my phone it says that the client cannot be reached. The other functions of the phone work just fine during this time.
To resolve this issue I have to turn the mobile data off and wait for about 15 minutes, or reset the device.
And finally he found the following solution:
Well after a few days with “testing” it appears that (with your help) I have solved the problem.
When you use two SIM cards on your phone, it would be best if the main SIM (voice + data) would be used in the SIM 2 slot because the problems did not appear again. The 1’st SIM slot appears to be able only to handle calls, without data, at the same time. A bit weird if you ask me, but hey…
I was able to keep my data on for days and could place calls or send SMS just fine without any trouble. Swapped SIM cards in my father’s phone also, and the problem disappeared.
So, it seems that SIM slot No. 1 of my Moto X Play is also unable to provide both voice and data. Any idea how to fix that?

If you have unlocked bootloader try these codes
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot
hope it works
The problem continues and I have some update: I have two SIMs, one SIM from Operator 1 and another from Operator 2. If I enable data on SIM from Operator 1 everything is OK with voice and data. And if I go to *#*#4636#*#* in Phone info I see “preferred network type LTE/GSM Auto (PRL)”.
But when I enable data on SIM from Operator 2 after some time I cannot make phone calls as I described earlier. And if I go to *#*#4636#*#* in Phone info I see “preferred network type GSM Only”. And I am unable to manually change that “GSM Only” to “LTE/GSM Auto (PRL)”. It always stays “GSM Only” and does not change.
However Operator 2 is similar to Operator 1, it is also a 3G operator.
Why preferred network type for Operator 1 is displayed as “LTE/GSM Auto (PRL)” but for Operator 2 “GSM Only”?
And why for Operator 2 I cannot change “GSM Only” to “LTE/GSM Auto (PRL)”? Why it is stuck to “GSM Only” when data is enabled on SIM from Operator 2?
More updates… Yesterday (when preferred network type of Operator 2 was “GSM Only” and I was unable to change that type) SIM of Operator 2 was in slot no 2. Today I swapped SIM cards – I fitted SIM of Operator 2 in slot no 1 and SIM of Operator 1 in slot no 2. And now all is OK with preferred network type for Operator 2 – it is displayed as “LTE/GSM Auto (PRL)”. So it seems that network type for slot no 2 of Moto X Play dual SIM can only be “GSM Only” and it is impossible to change it.
Any comments?

Dual Sim not working. Only one sim works at a time

After making some changes in service menu, i am unable to use dual sim functionality. I can use only one sim slot at a time. The other one shows no network available. Regardless of which sim slot i use. In service menu sim slot 1 can be set to any preferred network but sim slot 2 is stuck in gsm only mode. Manually searched for network but no network available. Flashed latest oos 3.1.0,still the same issue. Can anyone help me with this.
Thanks in advance
Just restore whatever change you did in service menu and you should be back, you should not have played around in there from the beginning ?

Service menu doesn't have an option to reset to default and i don't remember exactly what changes i made. Yea i shouldn't have touched the service menu. If there's any thing else that can be done. Thanks for the quick reply
I think you changed radios to be only 3g/4g and your carriers uses the same band

I'm not sure what changes I've made but yes both providers use band 40 2300 mhz for lte. I've tried changing one of the sim to use only 2g so that both sims are on different band but still same issue.
If you are in an area where carrier uses exclusively LTE that's the problem, opt radio is dual standby it alternate between two signals in any of the combinations 2g-3g/lte but not 3g-3g or lte-lte

My phone was working fine few days ago. I messed up something in service menu, after that the problem started. I have set one of the sim to use 2g manually, still i can't find any signal and both carriers use 3 different bands.
Have you found any solution i am facing exact same issue after changing network band. please help

No wifi, no simcards detected...
Can you explain how it makes it work?
Here is a good read about such dual-sim issues (esp. posts #3,4):
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/dua-sim-detection-problem-only-one-sim-being-detected.430976/
I'm a noob with this stuff, I read that forum and I'm still unclear... Is there a work around or am I screwed? Is it the phone/Software or my sim cards?
Here is the solution
In order to solve the problem go to service menu by dialing *#*#4636#*#* then turn off radio then select radio band 32 when it says successful, restart your phone and the problem will be solved
Say thanks at fb.com/suri131
You can contact for any other issue too
Finally solved the issue
I too faced similar issue and solved it now. I'll share my observations here.
I had 2 4g Sims Airtel and Jio. Jio for data. Both the sim's were working fine , once i went into roaming suddenly after that airtel stopped latching to network. Whatever sim slot i put my airtel sim it's not getting network if in the other slot Jio is there. I tried to use my airtel sim in other phones and it's working fine. I tried putting only airtel sim it's working fine in my OP2. I thought this may be imei problem and checked imei , my OP2 has both imei in it.
So now the fix part , for me 4g sim was working fine so tried fixing the other one in sim slot 1 i.e.. airtel.
*Install and open Shortcut Master(Lite).
*Menu->Search->Type "Engineering" -> Select "EngineerMode" from Search result (package name:com.android.engineeringmode.EngineeringMode) ->Launch.
*Click Network Set
*Click Sim Card Select -> sim 1
*Click Rat mode ->Select GSM only
*Click band mode->Select PGSM 900/1800
Now turn on Airplane mode on /off wait for a minute you should see both network.
Summary: In OP2 one slot will be 4g / other will be GSM 2g... So whichever sim is working for you don't change settings for that sim , play with the other sim for which no network is coming.

Hey man. Installed a custom based on android 12 and i'm not sure what happened but only one sim card was working. Used msm tool to go back to oos 12 and now only one sim card shows.
Was going to try your method but the "engineeringmode" does not show up in search.
Any suggestions?

Only LTE, no other bands/connections on sim slot 1

Its a bit of a wierd problem.
Suddenly my device only sees LTE/4G networks when SIM slot 1 is used. So no 2G or 3G networks are detected when i search for them.
- Changing the networks with *#*#4636#*#* does not work. even when i put it on "gsm only" no connection is found at all. (default i
- Tried different roms (Xiaomi EU and official Global roms both dev and stable tried but it doesnt change the fact)
- tried SIM in an other Redmi3s device and no issues there
- tried other sim in my device and it doesnt work.
And its only with slot 1. if i put my sim in slot2 there are no issues. (besides the fact that i loose the option of using an sd card)
Wifi/Bluetooth/GPS have no issues.
Searches on www and this forum lead me to issues where its the LTE band that doesnt work instead of the GSM/HSDPA and usually for both sim slots so can anyone point me in the right direction (or even have a solution for it
Device is (and was) not rooted and currently runs the official Miui9 weekly build (7.16.11)

Phone not logged in to the gsm operator after turning off the wifi X720 pro3

Telephone after turning off / on wifi (exit from wifi range).
By calling (incoming calls) the number of telephones (sim cards in phone) - a message appears that the number is off or off the reach (the phone shows the full range).
Phone pro3 x720 linage os 8.1 (latest version) modem updated, last TWRP, cleaning, erasing settings done. How to solve this problem?
Turning the sim card (phone) off / on solves the problem until the next turn on / off the wifi.

Reflash your firmware, clear cache, reboot.
The phone is reset to the default settings. deleted recovery (dalvik, cach., etc.). The problem mainly occurs with the included wifi on the sim1 card. On the sim 2 from which there is a data transfer (when the wifi is ok). A call to the sim card appears a message (off or out of range - the phone is on range)

Are you rooted? Please provide more info about your phone, whats installed, any mods?
Try using LTE Discovery: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.simplyadvanced.ltediscovery&hl=en_US
This is the absolute best app for sorting out signal issues, read through the steps to set up correctly, it needs root. Have you tried alternate APNs, In Mobile network settings, what do you have selected? Global?
Linage Os ver.15.1 20180529 nightly zl1 sering network global. The problem occurs when I connect via wifi. Making a call with sim 2 for a moment is ok.
Same thing happens with my x720, changing cdma setting usually fixes it but only until next time I leave wifi. 26s modem/baseband files and lineage 14.1. Lte Signal is there it just wont start data roaming by itself after leaving wifi.
Try putting it in airplane mode

That works too, but only until next time I leave wifi network.
I use two sim cards. The problem arises with the use of wifi on one sim1 card (it is set that the internet is from sim2. - sim1 does not have internet broadcast enabled)
I upgraded to linage 15.1 and got a new operator with new sim card so the problem went away for me by itself after swapping out the sim card.

Voice calls not possible on Lebara network Australia

I've got a very weird issue with my Galaxy S8 (SM-G950FD)
After working fine for about 1.5 years on the network it suddenly wasn't able to make and receive calls anymore on the Lebara (Vodafone) network in Australia.
The issue spontaneously disappeared a few hours after it first surfaced but reappeared and has not gone away since.
Internet and Txt/MMS are working normally. But when someone calls me it goes straight to voicemail and when I call nothing happens for a minute or so and then it "disconnects" but no tone
When I go into the phone app and try to retrieve settings like caller ID and/or forwarding it gives the following error:
Failed to read data
Something went wrong. Check your
Sim Card or network connection,
then try again
When I insert the sim into an S7 it's working. When I insert the sim from the S7 into the S8 (Optus network) the S8 works as well.
I've performed a factory reset (without restoring the settings)
I've gotten a new sim and Lebara has ported the number to it but that didn't help
Being a dual sim I've tried using the shared sd/sim slot but same issue.. data/mms/txt working no voice.
I've tried copying the apn settings the S7 displays with the Lebara sim to the S8 but that didn't help either.
I've now used Odin to flash the phone back to the Oreo version with the December 2018 security update and that didn't help either.
Any other ideas?
Thanks
I've managed to narrow down the issue a bit.
Also went out to purchase a Vodafone Pre-paid sim. That one didn't work either at first but after some troubleshooting with support of Vodafone we've found out that the S8 doesn't connect to the 3G network of Vodafone Australia.
When I have the SIM of another provider in there and limited the network mode to 2G/3G autoconnect the phone just finds the 2 other networks on 3G (AFAIK 2G has been phased out).
I've tried to get into the advanced service mode but this doesn't seem to be possible anymore.
Is there a way to try to see which bands are active on the S8 and better yet enable them all?
