Mi 9T miui 11 with android 10? - Redmi K20 / Xiaomi Mi 9T Questions & Answers

Hello everyone,
After all of my researches on the internet and XDA forums i don't understand one thing.
I own Mi 9T which runs MIUI Global 11.0.3 Stable PFJEUXM but it says that android version is 9.
My question is , is there an official miui ROM with android 10? it's really confusing for me since i've found a download section with all the
roms listed like this:
Redmi K20/Mi 9T (davinci) : V11.0.1.0.PFJMIXM (Global)
V11.0.2.0.PFJINXM (India)
... and some more beta roms
Does this Global ROM has android 10 and should i flash it and do i need to root the phone to do that ?
Thanks , best regards :fingers-crossed:

Hello, official MIUI ROM with Android 10 on Redmi K20/Mi 9T have "QFJ..." instead of "PFJ..." in their names.
Only latest Chinese MIUI ROM is with Android 10 currently.
Official Global ROM will get Android 10 soon so.

thanks for the info
Hmm i'm not sure about the battery drainage , maybe it happened to me once ( that i noticed) but for most of the time battery seems fine.
I don't have a clear picture of battery life since i'm coming from nokia 7.1 which has a subpar battery life and mi 9T is a real beast comparing to it hehehe

Battery drain
I had the battery drain issue too. It's gone now. My device has not been rooted and everything is as it is supposed to be. After switching on the build in miui battery saver and utilizing nap time app the problem is gone. You should also check which apps are auto starting and so forth. I guess there's a bug in miui 11 for the mi9t.

I solved the battery drain problem by turning off the always on screen and the image that shows the fingerprint with the screen off... Now I'm able to do 9 hours of screen time... Before it was around 4 or 5 hours

The Real Solution Of Short Life Battery (Battery Drain) 100% Working !!!

Redmi Note 2 Is good mobile with low price ??? Everthing from Good to Excellent Except battery bad Why ?????????
After Several Trials For Days I Found The Main Cause
1 - Bad Calibrated Battery Or Bad Battery Sensor
Solution : Leave the Mobile connected to the charger one or two hours after complete charge
2 - Miui rom not optimized
Solution : Update to miui 8 or better use custom rom like aurora rom or any cm based rom
now from 1.5 SOT to more than 5 SOT !!!
Hasn't worked for me... I keep the ROM updated with xiaomi.eu's developer version, and always leave the phone charging during night, still only 2.5 to 3 hours sot.
the same with me. The new Thread in the Miui Forum let me hope, that theey will fix this problem. I buyed too a Redmi Note 3 Battery and will try, to hack it, that I can use it in RN 2

Yes, but for that is necessary that people post their data!

Pay attention while playing with batteries!
to my opinion it depends most of the rom... i use rom builder from http://mi-globe.com/ and its working good:good:
Install govtuner from xda, ir works
If you stick a small quartz crystal to the back of your phone, centered on the battery. it will resonate in harmony with the battery and the available energy will magnified 10 fold.
If you still need more, install at least 3 battery saver apps to get around 10hrs SOT.:laugh::laugh:
More Details
I use :-
Auroa Rom
Brightness 10-15% most of the time
Disabled all startup programs except whatsup and truecaller (no face , no twitter .....etc)
no gps no bluetooth
if wifi on ... mobile data is off and vice versa
first sim is 2g and shift it to 3g when mobile data is needed
----------------
After all that
zero battery loss during standby (125 Hours Standby)
5 hours SOT (Browsing and whatsup no games)
ScreenShot Of battery !!! Amazing !!!
Is it a joke? This is an English forum. From those squiggles can not read anything.
Does that language date back to the stone age?

Screen on time

It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S before depleting the battery.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
With the latest EU rom (8.4.12), I got around 8.5 hours to do the web surfing through wifi (no video, audio) with the auto brightness about 50%.
Hope it helps.
I lost about 1% battery for every 5.3-5.6 minutes to be precised.

If you use it all the time you get 5-7h SOT easily, however if you don't use it much you get around 4h because (at least for me) there's always some drain on latest china rom. I have to wait until the bootloader is unlocked to test it with xiaomi.eu or global rom

I have problems with latest EU rom (8.4.28) which based on China Dev 8.4.26, my phone become unbearable lag and slow down.
They did something wrong with 8.4.26 kernel....

Try rolling back to 8.4.12, I've heard it's much more polished overall.
BTW, battery life on official Xiaomi Global ROM is beyond fantastic, I'm straight shocked.

Hi, anyone using the global edition, where the unit is not pre-flashed by vendors? just wondering how the battery life is compared to the mix 2, oneplus 6 and p20 pro.
GSM arena currently shows the mix 2s as having really bad battery endurance. but im assuming that was the china rom. Anyone can validate?
You seen the screenshots above your post?
First cycle.. very good. hopefully it will be better. Coming from huawei mate 10 to oneplus 5t to mi mix 2s. Love ips lcd display.
Battery has been great, not much of a mobile gamer so i believe i'm a moderate user. So far between 8 to 9 hours of sot in 35 to 40 hours cycles.

Same here, but I've never got more than 6h SOT with 24h usage
I don't game much, the heaviest use i gave it was the camera. No NFC, bluetooth or gps. Just regular use, like 2 to 3 hours of YouTube, Facebook, watching movie or anime and lots of web browsing get me 8 hours at least on every charge.
Hi, I've had my Mi Mix 2s for a couple months now. I have the 256gb variant, still rocking the chinese rom. Max screen on time I get with the phone is 3 and a half/ 4 hours.
Judging from other people's reviews thats much lower than average. So I'm wondering if anyone has any tips to try improve it? Does the global rom help improve it?
I'm with Global rom miui 10 beta and battery is bad I get max 5h of use and even before with miui 9 it was not great also. Great phone all good except the battery at least for me coming from OnePlus 5 and 5t.
How is the battery lately, in the most recent updates?

Post your issues found in the MIUI 10.3.6.0 update.

Hi, I got MIUI Global Stable 10.3.6.0 update yesterday in my Redmi Note 7 (lavender) (Model : M1901F7G) and mine is 4GB RAM & 64GB ROM variant.
I noticed more battery draining compared to the previous version MIUI Global 10.3.5.0 Stable. Anybody else noticed that?
Also I got a new charging animation and dark mode in settings > display.
Thanks ?
I have also got it, and have noticed more battery draining, other then that, I'm realy satisfied with the update.
Realy love the dark mode

Yes, the dark mode is very interesting but the battery draining is very very worst though ?
If possible, go to feedback app and catch a log and send it to Xiaomi. I also reported them. Hope the problem will be fixed in next upcoming update.

Battery drain , update?

Hello everyone i have the battery drain issue for my mi 9t with android 10 i'm actually at miui 11.0.5 qjfeuxm. I have done a lot , like switch sim card to Lte disable bloatware even a complete reinstall , but the drain is still here ,cleared some caches(google services, google, play services) and reboot . Are you aware of a future fix? or a miracle solution?

Check your autostart apps, check the battery optimizations apps, disable app vault, disable wifi scanning in location...

This issue is related to 11.0.5.0 update. We can't do anything but to wait for next update, although make sure all your Google apps are upto date, especially if you're having animations lag. Problem seems to be compatibility related with installed apps, you'll also notice improved battery life once you update all the installed apps and if there's any lag, that'll be fixed too.
Well the point is that I've already done all of that I don't know what to do next to improve that battery

If your phone's bootloader is unlocked, you can try to use a custom kernel (safer if you backup "boot" and "dtbo" partition before installing custom kernel) and/or a debloat script (I don't like it because you can broke some MIUI functionalities and get a bootloop...) to improve battery life.
I would like to keek the bootloader locked and I already debloat some bloatware with Xiaomi adb fastboot tools with a sure list of safe to debloat but nothing changed very much I Always have Android system approximately at 30% of battery usage
Did you remove Chrome also with adb tools? Reduced Android system to 15% for me.

I think "Download latest package" in the updater and actually performing it is worth a shot.
FYI: I'm on stock 11.0.4.0 EU with locked bootloader.

I was woried about Android System usage being to big, so I did what you did I debloated miui, and my Android system usage was still very high. But i tested how much screen on time I get and it was around 8-9 hours so I think it's quite good. Also I discovered that if you use Google podcasts then the time you listen goes in to Android system time.

I can barely have a sot of 5-6 hours ... But what's Google podcast ? Is there a way to disable it?
The feedback team confirmed me today in the Mi community that this is a bug already reported and they try to fix it..
You got a link to mi community with this statement (hoping it does not break XDA rules) ?
Because I'm afraid they tell you that but in fact, they do nothing, since this problem is present for months now.
I am also interested in updates on this topic... My Android system is always at 30-35%... I tried everything: disabled MIUI optimization, turned off several auto start options, used adb debloaters, forced app optimization through adb commands, use a macro that kills the Xiaomi service framework every 15 minutes etc etc. Literally nothing has worked on my 2 weeks old Mi 9t, so I am now asking myself if I want to stay at MIUI waiting for a fix or install a custom ROM such as Lineage.
Has anyone experience with lineage os on the Mi 9t. Are there any issues with it, i.e. similar battery drain issues?

I just hope they get this sorted out. I am on 65% battery and only have 1h 45min of SOT. That's unbelievable considering the mi 9t has a huge 4Ah battery.
Edit: I just watched the MIUI 12 reveal from today and it didn't really look like they paid attention to the battery issue, but concentrated more on adding sleek visual optics and animations... Not sure about the next update. But the first roll out is more than one month ahead (end of june) so I guess I'll be switching to lineage os for now

Could you please tell me which one did you debloat ? I already debloat some but it changes nothing

Is it worth the change?

Hi there, i have a 9T EEA, that i recently updated to MIUI 12, the thing is that since i updated it battery life is the worst i ever had, i use to charge it once every 1 and 1/2 days and now i have to plug it twice a day! So i was thinking to change the ROM but i dont know if it actually improves the battery life, i used to use Lineage or another roms in other phones but not sure if this will work with the currents Roms that are already in this Forum, like Xiaomi.Eu or Lineage, my main worries about them are about bank apps and the actual perfomance of it. Thanks in advance!

I'm on the same firmware and after about a week battery was almost the same as on 11.0.6.(debloated by ADB).
If you still have the feeling the drain is higher the upcoming firmware 12.0.3 may fix that, at least the beta users say so.
I don't have used a custom ROM on my 9T but my experience on other devices (mostly Motorola) is that customs have higher battery drain than stock firmwares.
Maybe xiaomi.eu is another thing but in the end you have to find it out by yourself.

Trust me it is worth it, u can control your own device with custom roms making it fast and light, unlike ugly bloated miui full of ads and huge battery usage, im sitting on msm xtended and get 0.2% battery drain at night in 12 hours, if u look for battery custom roms and definitely better than miui (u can easily achieve a 8h minimum sot)
