Need help transfering asap to new Galaxy note 10+ - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

So last week i finally upgraded my phone. I got a Samsung Galaxy note 10+ and i had to transfer everything over to it and used smart switch however it didnt transfer over everything. I need help transfering over my kik chats and my save data to 2 games -final fantasy record keepers ( i knpw you can backup by transfering in the game itself but i keep getting the message my account is on the old phone when trying to teansfer on the new one- cannot transfer save because your account is connect to another device) and digimon heroes! Can i please get help. I only have 1 day left to find out how i can do it. It took me all week to transfer everything else over to my new phone except those 3 things which i want. My old phone is a samsung s7 edge.

If you want to transfer data from your old Samsung Galaxy S7 to the new Galaxy note 10+, you can try Samsung Smart Switch. Of course, if they are both in your hands, you can also try Phone Transfer program to help you transfer data between Samsung phones. Usually, data like app, contacts, sms, music, photos, videos, books, call logs can be easily transferred. Just have a try and choose the one you like.

[Q] Broke my S4 Screen, its blank now. How can I transfer things to new phone?

Hello,,,
I recently broke my Galaxy S4 screen and its not responsive anymore. It doesn't work and doesnt show anything. Blank screen.
I bought a new Oneplus One and I want to transfer all my data from my old phone. Contacts were 30% saved to the device and 20% were to my sim card and the rest were on my Samsung account. I dont have an SD card so everything is on the internal storage for my phone.
I also would like to transfer my apps cache data.. like whatsapp's groups and contact's chat history.
I never hooked my phone up to my PC so my PC doesnt recognize it when I connect it. I dont really want to fix my screen for 100$ in order to transfer all my stuff to my new phone I also cannot unlock my screen cause It doesnt work, I do know the pattern though. just saying

Transfer from galaxy S4 to galaxy S5 neo

Hi, i've been trying for a wile to recover all data from a Galaxy S4 with touchscreen broken to a new Galaxy S5 Neo. I've been able to recover most informations form my S4 with samsung Kies 3 and the new samsung Smart Swich (contacts, sms...). But i haven't been able to recover games and programs on S4, losing all progressions.
In the past, i've used Helium that worked perfectly (saving game and recovering in a new phone with all progression) but since i've only have access to the phone by the computer, i can't confirm anythings on the screen (all softwares needs autorisation except samsung ones). I've tried software to clone the screen in windows and it didn't work.
I've tried drag an drop in windows 10 and didn't work. I don't find the program and the data. I don't understand the structure of android and i think i don't see everythings.
I've been playing to some games for years and i want to keep the levels in the game.
Can you help?
Thanks
Michel

What method are you using to transfer apps & data from your current phone to your S8?

What method are you using to transfer apps & data from your current phone to your S8?
In the past I've been able to root my phone straight away and use Titanium Backup to transfer everything I needed to my new phone.
But seeing as the S8 is so new and hasn't been rooted yet I was wondering what you guys were planning to do about your apps and data?
Has anyone use Google's Tap to Go or Samsung's own transfer wizard that runs when you first setup the phone? Or perhaps there is a better method?
Or do I really need to bother at all, just sign into my Google account, download my apps and everything should just work and be there? Is it as easy as that?
It has been such a long time since I've had to do this. My current phone is a Note 4 which I've had for 2yrs and before that was a HTC One M8 which was rooted and I had that for 2yrs and before that was the Google Galaxy which was also rooted.
What are your thoughts?
Use the OTG method (phone to phone). That should be the fastest.
This time around I set up my new phone manually. There were a couple small things that I bluetooth transferred just for quick reference and I do have some stuff backed up on g cloud so I may put those on as well

What is the OTG method? Are you talking about using a OTG cable to link the phones somehow?
I used the built in Samsung Smart Switch. Worked great to transfer my data from my iPhone

easiest is smartswitch for sure, did that for s5-s7 but i asume it works either way as long as u have a samsung
This time around I went ahead and just used Samsung's Smartswitch method. Plugged in my S7's cable to the S7, with the USB to USB-C adapter (included in the S8 package) to the S8, and it auto-started the Smartswitch process on my old S7. It transferred all my apps, with their data, along with the homescreen settings, etc. I did need to reset a few apps, so make sure you have viable backups of important stuff. As an example, Carango didn't transfer over my gas mileage & car records, so I had to pull those back from a cloud backup, and while all the files for BeyondPod transferred over fine, I needed to do a restore from backup in the app to get its settings and update times loaded properly.
All that said, it's probably about the smoothest process I've had for transferring everything over. Seems to work at least as well if not better than Google's built-in thing, and it's a bit quicker.
Gonna be using Samsung's Smart Switch. Easiest way, I think. Did it when I went from my S3 > S6 and will do so again, S6 > S8.
Thanks for the replies. Looks like Smartswitch is the way to go. I will give that a try tonight. Thanks everyone.

Did you have any issues with it? I couldn't get it to work with my iPhone 7. It kept losing connection at 99%

Yep it worked fine. Never lost connection once

I tried smart switch from s7 edge and it only transfers the apps, without any settings. I might as well have download these apps from the play store. If that's the way this works, I don't see any reason why to use smart switch.
smart switch includes internal storage data, and discontinued and sideloaded apps.
for the data/settings you can use helium, you need to install and activate(using a PC) it on both phones once and then you can see all transferable apps from the other phone and copy their data over as needed.

Than you. I did that thing with smart switch just to check it out. I always use titanium backup for the purpose, but root is needed first...
Never used helium before. I'll check it.

Smartswitch and OTG are the same.
Smart switch didn't work for me. I think it was because my note 4 is rooted so I ended setting things manually.
What if you no longer have the previous phone, but you do have the backup of a previous device on Google Drive? I had a Pixel running 7.1.1 previously, but returned it. Now i want to restore the Galaxy S8 from that backup, but it does not seem to recognize the backup. When i first start up the S8, it just logs me into my Google account, but never asks for the restore option.

If you have lot of pics, move them first manually and delete them from IPhone and try smartswitch again. This resolved my issue.
This may sound odd, but I haven't even set my phone up yet. I put my screen protector on and it came out flawless and works well with my TPU case (no lifting). So I'm going to wait until I get my promo bundle (Shipped 2 day) put my SIM and MicroSD in it and then use smartswitch. I'm not going to keep tempting fate by taking the phone out of the case and messing up the edges of my screen protector. OCD much? You bet!

Did you transfer data from WhatsApp and Apple Health?

S8+ cant receive files through bluetooth, but can send

I tested my s8+ with other phones and my laptop and it cant receive files, but my phone can send file easily to laptop and to my other phone xperia. Any same issues with you guys?
only thing i could recommend is completely wiping it and starting from scratch. i had an issue with my s6 or s7 (dont remember) where it lost some kind of write/read access when I connected it to my computer. Could be completely unrelated but might be worth a shot.

Alternative to OnePlus Switch...

I took the dive and got the TMO variant of the 6T. I had a 1+1 sitting around so I traded it in. This is my first 1+ phone since then.
I'm now trying to transfer my apps and settings to the new phone from my LG G6 using the OnePlus Switch app with limited success. I managed to get my contacts, call logs, msgs transferred after re-installing the app but nothing else will transfer at this rate. So, I'd like some suggestions on what I can use to transfer the rest of my data? Hopefully with fewer issues.
Note - The app seems to connect both phones but refuses to transfer anything as if it's stuck on the first item.
Thx for any help!
Not sure what happened but finally got apps over but data associated with them is not there. Any suggestions?
