7T PRO ME 5G Tmo - OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Questions & Answers

Hello Everyone
Long time member on here , have not had to mod any of my phones for some time been very happy with the stock android theme , feel and layout on my devices from the Nexus 6 to the Pixel .
Unfortunately the Pixel 4 is a total bust so decided to switch gears here for a change , love specs and look of one plus 7t ME so far just want to tweak a few things .
1. That terrible T mobile start up screen
2. Not a fan of the one plus camera app can i use the google one?
3. Can i have the google launcher ?
4. I want to run dual sim , do i need to unlock the boot loader to enable that ?
Thanks in advance

First carrier locked phone I've bought in 5 years, I hate the splash screen, I use Nova Launcher, Need dual sim tray and sim unlock phone. Phone has to be paid off, in apk draw, look for unlock icon it will explain

You can sim unlock without paying off the phone. I've got a JOD Mclaren 5G thats sim unlocked. There are some threads in the OnePlus 7 Pro forum that will explain, or you can use services/websites that will unlock for a fee.

New Atrix, how to get unlock code

I just got my Motorola Atrix off ebay today, i have used Dell Streak for past 6 months.
However, for some reason i need an unlock pin to use it??? What does this mean? I pay 2gb AT&T data plan and such. I thought i would just be able to switch SIM cards and it would work? I've always done this for my other phones (Pre plus, streak, captivate)
Please Help. I don't really want to pay/wait for a dumb unlock code...
Hi,
did u read the offer first if it´s an At&T original one? If yes, it should work with your at&t sim card w/o problem and u dont need unlocking code. Otherwise, if it´s from a different operator and then u need an unlock code and probably u ´ll spend some money buying it. But, if it´s from at&T and even cant accept yr at&t sim card then i think you have this problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1186865
Good luck.
Hi I thing its the phone lock not the sim lock ask the seller for the unlock pin. I have the lock set up on my phone and when I turn it on it says enter pin to unlock.

Ask the seller for the unlock pin.
If the seller is the one and only owner, then they would know it for sure...

ZTE ZMAX Pro Sim Unlock Screen Not Appearing

Greetings all I have searched left and right back and forth and cannot find a post on the forums concerning this issue. I currently have a ZTE Zmax Pro and want to change carriers. Sadly Metro for whatever reason won't unlock. So I went out and grabbed some unlock codes. But when putting in the sim card a Sim Unlock Screen does not appear at all. Anyway to force it to appear?
Thanks.

That is a shame to hear. Guess this phone is paperweight now. Metro completely screwed me on their end. Told me the phone was good to unlock. So brought it to another company and now my account is canceled and phone cannot be unlocked.

I just bought a new ZTE XMAX PRO few days ago I actually enjoy MetroPCS I tether off them like couple hundred gigabytes a month, and they will sell you that zMAX Pro unlocked and they will unlock it after three months of service for free if you can't do it yourself, I currently have Z981, SM-G900P, and XT1254. Tonight I'm going to look into rooting and possibly unlocking the SIM card what the code and the unlock device app that comes with Metro is blue with a little key
Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
No code needed on this phone to unlock. The unlocking process is done thru the "Unkock" app installed on phone. When app is launched, it communicates with a server, the server determines if phone is eligible for unlock. The above mentioned unlocking service apparently sends info to server "stating 90 days have passed(?) and is now eligible for unlock(?). I just unlocked another one today, phone is only 3 days old, less than 2 hours the phone was unlocked thru the Unlock app.

Unlockbase.com it took about ten hours.. The initial charge is 11.90 .... Enter - 5SURVEYPRO as a coupon code at checkout.. Get unlock for 6.90

Sorry for sort of hijacking this thread, but I just have a very quick and simple question related to the original topic. I just purchased a used T-Mobile branded ZMax Pro that has been unlocked for use with any other GSM carrier. If I do a factory reset, would the phone remain unlocked? Thank you in advance for your help.

so if its done thru the app how did unlockbase unlock your phone, i just bought a brand new one cheap and id rather just unlock it instead of 3 months of service with metro and then im not sure if they would unlock it because its a used phone so id rather keep at&t and just unlock the phone. any info will help.
If you look at the profiles of both the users that posted about using a website to unlock the phone, that's the only post they've made. Those are just Ad Bots that post spam in forums.
Yep... Good old internet.
I'm almost at 90 days so the unlock app should work soon... I just want a carrier that I can achieve unlimited hotspot data from, like when I had Boost.

This site was totally legit!!! I paid and my phone was unlocked! I went to the app and it unlocked! Thanks!!!
Thanks for reminding me - I just hit the Unlock Phone app on my MetroPCS Zmax Pro. I've been meaning to do that for a while since I've been a customer of theirs for about 4 months, and it unlocked it immediately.

I know this old but I'm having the same issue now with the ZTE ZMAX Pro. How were you able to unlock the phone when it was only three days old? Was it because you used a sim card that had over 90 days of service with MetroPCS?

Rooting a New OnePlus 8 Pro for Activation at Verizon (Noob Questions)

I'm very sorry for the noob questions but It has been a VERY long time (Droid X days) since I've done any sort of modding to an android phone.
I've been jumping from Samsung flagship to Samsung flagship since then but now as I have become more concerned with my digital security I want to have a rooted phone again.
If I buy a US version of the OnePlus 8 pro from OnePlus' website will I be able to root the phone and activate it at Verizon?
From what I've read on the internet, this should be possible but I was just confirming with the most knowledgeable community I know of.
Thanks so much in advance.

If you are buying a carrier unlocked phone straight from Oneplus then the carrier doesn't effect anything. Yes you can root it. Using my rooted 8 Pro on T-Mobile right now.

Yep. I bought my 8 pro directly from oneplus and activated on Verizon and I'm rooted.

Yes, you can. I received my OP8Pro Wednesday, took it out of the box, powered on, unlocked, then put the SIM in and activated it on Verizon. Root can come after. Make sure yo have your account flagged as CDMAless for the OP8Pro. You need it so messaging works correctly.

Thanks to all of you. I bought an 8 Pro in Ultramarine Blue last night and should be getting it by Wednesday. Can't wait to get it and start modding it with the help from the fine folks on XDA.
I purchased the 8 from Verizon they have it so locked down you cant root,or unlock bootloader. I returned that one and purchased the 8 pro directly from oneplus. Using it now on verizon unlocked, rooted and on Dp3. Only note is that verizon wifi calling don't work. Not a big deal for me.

I haven't investigated yet, but I've read about root required edits that may activate Wi-Fi calling. Only thing that'll screw it up is if it's just not available from Verizon

One plus 6t t mobile

I recently purchased a one plus 6t. The seller did a very good job of hiding the fact that its a t mobile variant. I know this version causes issues but im still going to try and root it. The device has been unlocked for all carriers. Does this mean the phones software has been converted to the standard one plus software meaning I dont have to contact t mobile to unlock the bootloader? If not what should my next plan of action be? Any suggestions or info welcome and appreciated.

but as far as I know, the google pay could not be active in this case. So, you need to check if it is configuraable even though you have no plans to use it.

If it is from Google it should be posible and straight foward.
Though, if you bouht it and can't unlocked you should consider looking this thread as we got our hands on the MBN files of Pixel 4 which allow us to unlock any bootloader

Well I am not so sure. This was the first time I bought a locked phone, so I can't really tell you. All I can say is that on that thread we created a way to unlock the bootloader, that's all.
Though Pixel 5 wasn't a good phone, it had worse performance, bad sound quality and so on.
Pixel 3 is getting old, won't recive android 13 and 4 GB of RAM for Android isn't enought, it won't keep apps open in the background.
Keep this in mind if you are buying one of those phones

I understand,I don't care about Android 12 and probably above and I think Pixel 5 is awesome phone but from reading through the comments I thought that you find a way to unlock the phone to work with all phone cell companies not the bootloader that's what I got from reading.
So your method will unlock the bootloader on a Verizon Pixel 3 with bootloader lock and unlock it, because I have one I was about to send back, but no need if bootloader can be unlocked.

Well I can't guarantee to you that, what I can say is that a figure out a method that COULD unlock permantly the bootloaader.
I am confident to the point I bought a locked ATT Pixel 4 XL from ebay on mid year, but didn't unlock it yet, just manage to unlock the SIM, so I can use mi Vodafone SIM and VIVO SIM.
I am going to leave a link to that thread here, but it needs to be tested and I can't do it because I don't have more phones to test, so I am waiting to see if someone with an older phone can.
If you want to try it and save some cash it's up to you!
Let me know what you decide,
Happy Christmas!!!
