Firmware for Chinese 7" Head Unit with AC8227L YT9250_AHD_00006_V004_20190610_DSP
Hello everyone !
I have a Chinese Head Unit (Motherboard Marking: YT9260-ver0.2, Model no: 8227L_demo android 9.1, Android: YT9250_AHD_00006_V004_20190610_DSP, Kernel: 3.18.22, DDR 2GB FLASH 16GB, Mediatek MT6323LGA, Foresee FSEIAD9D EMMC 16G). Unfortunetly bad rom and preloader was written to the device and now it is completly brick. When i connect to USB my computer detects it (Mediatek USB VCOM), so maybe i can save it. Can anyone send me a preloader with scatter, rom and memory dump? Could someone please give me some ideas or advice? I also attach some pictures. Best wishes, thank you.

I did the same thing. I was able to revive the unit with that preboot + the test point recovery method.
Good luck!

Dude, don't take things like this to PM. Keep it in the main thread so that others can chime in and learn from the information here.
Launch the flash tool
Go to the download tab (it opens up to this tab)
Leave the default Download Agent, MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin
Load this scatter file (discard the included preloader) (link)
Load this preloader (link)
Your screen should look like this:

}
Go to the 'Memory Test' tab
Select RAM test & hit start.
Short the two test points (see picture) without power and then plug in the usb cable (connected to usb1 port).
Remove the short when the process starts
If everything worked it should pass the RAM test. If not, don't proceed.
Disconnect the USB
Repeat steps 1 - 6, then continue to 12
Press Ctrl+Alt+V , then go to Window and select "write memory".
In file path select your backups (EMMC_BOOT1.bin, EMMC_BOOT2.bin, & EMMC_USER.bin), in begin address put 0x0, in region select the correct partition to match the backup. Hit Write memory. Repeat this step 3 times, once for each region (EMMC_BOOT1, EMMC_BOOT2, & EMMC_USER)
Short the two test points (see picture) without power and then plug in the usb cable (connected to usb1 port).
Remove the short when process starts.
Your backups are restored

I tried this method. My computer recognizes the device on COM3 port, in program the red progress 100% (Download DA 100%), then after 10 seconds the program prints Enable DRAM failed. I followed you instructions step by step, I shorted the two test points, but the program just prints Enable DRAM failed. Any idea ?

I have no memory dump. I got the device after they had uploaded faulty rom and preloader and they didn't make a backup. I know that if the preloader gets damaged, the usb connection will not be established, but in this case it will be up because my computer recognizes the device. There may be a problem with the preloader being defective and the Flash tool cannot write to the memory. Can we write through Rx Tx? It is possible ?

I got the same head unit with the same problem. Ill try this method and see what will happen

This is a bit old thread so I'm not too sure if it still useful, but if so I would recommend to use Arduino Uno which can easily communicate through UART.
More infos here:

Ambitious : Try to hard debrick with an homemade JTAG LPT cable

Hello !
i'm from an engenering school in France,
i've 2 x8, one old, rooted, boot loader unlocked, nAa kernel and CM7, and the other hard bricked because of 11w34 -__-
So i want to connect my dead phone with a JTAG LPT cable homemade.
I've seen this thread here , the shematics of the X8, the reference manual of ARM1136 (msm7227 qualcomm)
so i know the JTAG pinout, i connect them, i connect the battery with other wires, and with the software H-jtag i tried to connect my phone hoping to enter in debug mod :
i can't configure the target as ARM1136 because there is a message error : "unable to load the driver"
i've read in the reference manual that ARM926 is still compatible, so i choose this one as target device and it seems to be working (i can see READY in the corner of the window )
but when i try to communicate with the phone, a new message say that it's impossible to enter in debug mod : check TDI clock and TAP config :
i put TDI clock at low level (i tried all levels )
and for the TAP configuration : i've read in the reference manual the register adress for bypass, i try something but i'm not sure to understant TAP num : is this the binairy adress of the bypass port ? there a screen, but not with my values

so is there someone who know how can i configurate the target access port connexion ?
Good luck with this dude...and report if you make it to work
sent from my ice cream
I would normally move the thread to Q&A but JTAG is an issue that has not been covered much, so it kind of fits here too.
Unfortunately I can't help you but it would be really helpful to inform us of your progress and hopefully make a guide eventually.
Thanks!

Have you tried MedusaBox? It repairs hardbricks via jtag
So try it, maybe it costs alittle bit but its worth it
tilakpil: Good Luck man! If you unbrick your X8 with homemade cables etc, YOU WILL BE A HERO!
Have you tried with UART connection?
Send me a PM,I would like to test it too,so maybe we can work it out.
Hello, i'd like to join this conversation because i have a dead galaxy mini in hand and it has got the same qualcomm msm7227 chipset. I'm also trying with an homemade wiggler and openocd.
I've managed to get the IDCODE and the debugging features (i think).
In this document you can see the chipset has got 2 ARM processors, one for apps and one for modem.
Following a thread about a HTC device with a similar MSM chipset, i toggled a script to use the ARM926EJ-S CPU with the right IDCODE.
I got the debug interface up and running fine, i'm thinking on what to do now
any updates?
Sorry but the phone i was trying to unbrick is dead now.

The first step is to find the jtag header on your phone. Search on the net for some pictures, schematics or datasheet that may help you.
Once you found the JTAG header, you need a cable to be able to access it from a PC.
I used a wiggler cable, because it's the simplest and the cheapest. You can find many results and schematics on google if you type "wiggler cable".
Remember to use the proper voltage (3.3v), or you will fry your phone.
Once you have the cable ready and soldered, you can now move to your pc. at first i tryied openocd, but i am uncomfortable with command line debugging, so i looked for a GUI alternative.
On Windows, you can download H-JTAG, a software that will detect the cable and the CPU, and the NoICE Debugger for ARM

[UNBRICK] Unbrick Tutorial For The OnePlus 3T!!!!!!!!! by Haris K.

Hey Guys!!!
Many people who own the new OnePlus3T and try to install root or TWRP etc. will often get errors.
In my Case it was so that I could not go back on my TWRP backup. Unfortunately there was at that time no OnePlus3T Rom, so I tried to install from the original page the OnePlus3 Rom. finally came out -> My OPT3 was bricked....
A hard brick is very hard to fix at the moment, because the tools etc. are still outdated and currently run only for the OP3 and not for the T model. That's why I took the trouble and sometimes put the files together. Now I have also managed to unbrick my OP3T.
So, I'm a nice guy and I publish my Files for fixing the OnePlus3T.
For the on Plus 3:
Step 1: Download Driver and Unbricktool
1) Driver: https://mega.nz/#!AgohmbqC!h16GeeOnlvubYDyfID3feY-qVJuBZiWVvYsXSAeKIA8
2) Unbricktool(OP3T): https://mega.nz/#!Q1YnTTAT!gnLf6NEkSRy7W-WY8J0H2SmJJLzO91-vReKx7B1VVpI
Step 1: Extract Drivers and Recovery Tool files on Desktop.
Step 2: If you are using Windows other than Windows XP,turn off Driver Signature Enforcement. To do so,follow this guide :
http://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how...8.1-so-that-you-can-install-unsigned-drivers/
Step 3: Press the power button for 40 seconds to turn off the phone.
Step 4: Press the volume up button for 10 seconds, while connecting the device with the computer.
Step 5: Open your device-manager and make sure in "Unknown devices" is one device with the name "QHUSB_BULK".
Step 6: Right Click on your device in the device manager and select Update Device Software. Choose manually the drivers folder and install the driver.
Step 7: When the device shows as "Qualcomm 9008", go run the MSM Download Tool as administrator.
Step 8: Click start at top left corner and wait for it to finish (green text will come).
Step 9: Disconnect phone from PC and boot into system.
Welcome back in life OP3T!!!
There you are! Don't forget to thank!
EDIT: Sorry for my bad english!
Time to try this tool. I have lost a lot of space on my 128GB 3T as you can see.

Uh, try to disconnect your device and turn it on. If its blackscreen only, try to charge it with the original cable. If it shows no reaction. Try to install the drivers again and run the tool again in administrator mode.

Is your phone in bootloop, if yes then let it completely die first. Then charge it for 5-10 mins( don't try to turn it on) and repeat the flashing process.
Make sure that ur flasing files are selected and com port dialogue box is already opened before connecting the phone on qfil. Then connect the usb cable holding the volume up button, as phone is detected by qfil imidiately press the ok button and then click on download. Com port detects only for 5 seconds.
Sorry for my bad english.

you should find a rom for your smartwatch and apply the same procedure described in the demonstration video posted by GevaFerois
Hi,
Is the GPS working after installation of this firmware ? In my case not and I am wondering what is the reason.

I was able to solve the problem in this forum 4pda.ru
I just decided to use the SP Flash Tool v5.1628 and a firmware that I found there.
as this is my first post, I can not leave the link of the files I used

I also have the 'black screen' problem after the latest update.
I do NOT consider rooting & updating the system to a different build a 'solution' for the problem at hand.
Instead it is a totally different direction.
Is there also a true solution to the 'black screen' problem ?
A long press still shows the Boot/Restart & screen options, and the sim-unlock keyboard shows .... but no menus.... nothing

Please notice that the 'original problem' was on a (Hestia/../ZoiyTop JM01/...) H1 smartwatch, which is sufficiently different in my opinion to the Sun D1? shown in the video and reference. I think the 'smartwatch ticks' does a very good job, but may need tweeking for other brands.
Result would be a rooted device with the D1 specific firmware build, and possibly not working with the specific sensors etc in the H1.
4pda.ru indeed has a seemingly nicely running firmware for the H1, and with a selection of watch faces.....
(http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=833918 ) ... but some of the (translated) remarks show confusion/problems also.
I'd be hesitant to use their links, as I think I may misunderstand some of the comments and links.
I think I need to wait for a clearly described (with video?) process towards a running update -for H1-. ... more reading
Both options are -not- an answer to the question on what to do with a -manufacturer- update that leaves the screen dark.......
Any options for that base-problem ? I'm trying to get my (non-rooted, manufacturer updated) watch to get back to a working status for now.
Help please ?
On 4PDA I understood that the 1503978433 a/o 1503979494 parts of the Build 20170829114833 were incorrect or incomplete in that the KCTlauncher fails to start after the latest update.
I have not currently found a solution.
I would like to use the 4PDA custom build, but the process is not sufficiently described for me to understand ..
i've falshed but now the watch can't start. I've tryed to remove battery by cutting red battery wire. When i've reconnected it the watch can't start but if i try to rewrite firmware i can connect to pc but after 20 sec. the program show this error "Brom Error Sft Enable Dram_Fail (4032)"
Have you a solution or test to try for me?
sorry for my bad english.
Thank you! I repaired my watch with your help. I thought that I destroyed my watch completely while trying to find Volume buttons on its motherboard (don’t touch with ground little circle “debug pins” on the right above usb+power cable). But after detaching battery it revived. I did also found power button debug pin under usb+power cable on motherboard. I rooted my watch before updating and PC didn’t find usb watch device after update (device can’t be started error). But it is ok as PC recognizes USB device only while the watch is turning on. Here is the instructions that I used https : // thebroodle.com/microsoft/windows/how-to-install-mtk65xx-preloader-usb-vcom-drivers-in-windows to install drivers on Windows 7. "Brom Error Sft Enable Dram_Fail (4032)" error may be caused by incorrect drivers
"1: Unzip the file
2: Install USB drives
3: Install the spflash tool
4: Turn off smartwatch
5: Pass the firmware (then turn on the device)
6: ready!"
I made this and now watch can't start. Is any solution?
don't panic
go to www[dot]microweartech[dot]com/Firmware[dot]html
download Upgrade Drivers & H1 Flash Tool & H1 firmware
install the drivers
unzip firmware
unzip flash tool
turn off the watch
execute spFlashTool
choose scatter.txt in unzipped driver directory
choose "format + download"
plug watch to usb
press watch button 1 second (usb vcom driver will install)
click download button in spFlashTool
If all is well done, loading is done in 5 minutes
you now have a brand new watch :good:

Any idea where to locate the ispbooot.bin file for this wireless AA/Carplay display screen?

I have been trying to fix a Bluetooth issue on this unit I bought about a year ago and I chased this down the rabbit hole to locate a isobooot.bin for what looked like an identical Device under a brand name. I installed it but it's a different resolution and touch screen no longer works. Anyone have experience with these units? I'm also interested in the firmware for the newer 5" AA motorcycle display that seems to fix this BT issue. Thanks.

Update. I have located a compatible file under the Brand Name Maxca on FB and I have recovered this device. I would still like to learn more about mods and regular firmware updates. Thanks.

At this moment I have the August 2022 update, but thereis no option for change the boot logo and the UI of the home screen is different (in a bad way) then the advertised image, which havee big tiles...
Then we're basically looking for the same latest version - I only know about the Aug 22 version
So some info, I bought a "Carsara" branded one.
I was disapponted for 2 particolar reason, this is why I'm here.
1. the UI in the selling page was way more minimal and easy to use (mine was like a 1990 headunit)
2. there was no option to change the boot logo
Well, they send me and old firmware (Of another brand, ""Maxca"" ,wich I think it's the main producer of this devices) with the Old UI, it's fantastic, but the Android Auto Wireless it's not working anymore.
In this old firmware you can edit the boot logo with a lot of car brand.
Cerry on top if you whant to customize the boot spash screen with one created from you, create a "logo.jpg" image, resolution 1024x600 and"put it in the same USB where you put the ISPBOO0T.bin file. After two reboot you will see your logo on the boot up. NICE!!!!
On some of the latest firmware you only have to boot up the device and connect the usb with the "logo.jpg" inside, the device will do the rest. Reboot and engoy.
For who whants to try the old firmware with the WAY COOLER UI here is the link:
https://drive.google.com/drive/fold...onversation.0.0.1bc53e5fLQyHZL&usp=share_link
Basically I'm unable to have the OLD UI with a working Wireless Android Auto. It's very sad, the unit is nice.

Can you post a photo of the unit you have and what home UI you have now?
The unit I have is the exact unit in the original post (although the outlets are on the left side, not the right side).
I will have to try to remember to photograph the UI tonight when I am home. Regarding the boot logo- in the Engineer menu (or whatever it's called, pin 123456) there is an option to change the boot logo with several brand logos. I have read that if you great an image of the correct resolution and extension and place it on an SD card it might show up as an option on that screen.

Correct and it works, If you read up I've explained how, late I'll post some photo and videos to be more clear.
Honestly it's the first time I see no support on some software modding, and the market for this thing it's not small..
An alternative ip67 just a bit more refine and specific for motorcycle it's 250euros, I've payed mine 47euros.
