Alexa echo show 5 for my dashboard car, need to use android inside - Amazon Echo

Hi Developers,
I wonder if I could use it on my car dash with my android apps like CAR LAUNCHER, TORQUE, WAZE, GOOGLE MAPS, SPOTIFY.
They say that Alexa Echo Show 5 is on Android 5.1 base so how could I change it or mod it in order to have my ANDROID CAR DASH that has a nice shape for that use. It has also an audio output that I could connect to my Kenwood power radio on my car and also bluetooth does.
* What I need, to enter to an Android device, HOW?
Thanks for suggestions

Does anyone have a pioneer deh 7900bt?

Hey guys,
Does anyone have experience with this head unit?
I am getting this head unit in the mail and i wanted to know if it works as advertised with the mogul. I want to use it as a BT speakerphone and stream sirius.
Are there any tricks or tips for use with this head unit?
I am REALLY excited about it but I want to be prepared for it in case there are things I need to know.
Thanks guys!
Pioneer Premier DEH-980BT
I have the DEH-980BT (first model with bluetooth). Make sure you pair the pioneer head unit with your phone and after pairing register the phone in the pioneer unit (read the pioneer instructions) if you still have problems change the following registries in your phone
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\SYS\COD
Change to 5898764
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTAGPBModule
Change OEM to \Windows\BthAGPhonebook.dll
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTAGExtModule
Change OEMAGW.DLL to \Windows\vcbthag.dll
You might still have problems setting both hands free and wireless stereo at the same time. I only have only hands free set on my phone and its works great.
I have the DEH-7900BT and it works flawlessly. I have to initiate the pair from the phone in order to get things setup, but once I have paired them the phone auto connects every time I get in the car and both the handsfree and stereo audio work as advertised. AVRCP even works correctly.
speaking of pioneer HU
has anyone tried the OEL screensaver studio appz ?
is there a site of people's creation available on the net ?
i can't find anything about it.
BTW, i have the 980BT unit and its top notch !
wait, so this radio has bluetooth streaming music right??, because i bought the Pioneer DEH 6250 BT and it doesn't have that function so i sold this 6250 to my friend and i was looking for this one 7900 because i thought it would bluetooth streaming music audio
why would one not use a cheap FM transmitter to do the audio to stereo? They charge the phone, use less power, and are like 4$ on amazon?
FM Transmitters SUCK!
1. Audio quality is crap compared to BT2
2. No A2DP support with a FM transmitter (on screen track info on your stereo, track fwd/back control, etc)
3. Noisy interference with other cars, towers etc.

Nexus 4 4.2.2 and RNS 315 car system issues/tweaks

Hi,
I am a happy switchover to Nexus 4 from my iPhone, only thing I am starting to miss are some integration bits with my car audio system.
I am currently connecting the phone via bluetooth and it is working well, I can stream music and use built-in car dialler, however, I do not see what is currently playing on the car dash.
When I had the same setup using iPhone, I could see the currently playing song information. I can still skip to the next song using car's steering wheel buttons but I only see "Bluetooth audio" on the display.
I am using the default Google Play app to play music - have also tried with dogcatcher but no avail. On the iPhone various app worked - Music, Podcasts..
Second issue I have - is it possible to "force" phone calls to background when connected to bluetooth headset? I would quite prefer the satnav to stay on instead of seeing the current caller's information - as I already see that on my dash.
Thanks!

The first problem is caused by you and other people buying iPhone. You have contributed to pushing 3rd party manufacturers into supporting proprietary apple formats and communication protocols.
There is a perfectly fine Bluetooth protocol for track display, but your car stereo doesn't suport that, only the proprietary Apple one.
Hopefully you are now aware of the evil lock-in tactics that Apple have been engaging in, and next time you will check the product specifications to see see if your purchase is going to lock you in in any way.
Volkswagen and their bluetooth devices work fine with Android. It's Android that lacks a proper protocol to push that info to the radio. I know this because I worked with VW for months on troubleshooting the issue. Eventually, I obtained a stock galaxy S3 and it displays info just fine. With a custom 4.2.1/4.2.2 rom, it does not, just displays "BT-Audio".
CM is adding in bt tag support, but it currently doesn't work with play music, but is noted to work with pandora.
OP - your second issue is not possible. The radio automatically flips to the most recent info it has to display to you. You can manually toggle it back IIRC, as I can on mine.
I have the same issue:
See thread which explains a lot and could solve your issue:

We need to get AVRPC in our devices then it would work.
I drive an A5 SB with no go : ( to bad
yea the bluetooth works on my ford focus, but doesnt show the info of what track is playing.

Newbie: Android tab hooked up to Sony BT Amplifier w/o head unit

Hi Everyone,
I hate stock car audio set ups and can't stand how bad the stick head units are in my country India.
I'm planning on buying a new car, the Nissan Magnite (the base version usually comes with just the Aircon and no bahut, music player or speakers) and wanted to set up the ICE without any stock components. Could you help me understand if the following set up would work as I'm describing it.
Car amplifier: Sony XM - GS6 (with built in DSP)
Head unit: Samsung s6 tab lite with wireless charging dock
Speakers and sub woofer: haven't finalized, evaluating options
1) can I install the amplifier in the 2 din console space, have the tab connect to the amplifier via Bluetooth and the tab becomes the default screen. Is this possible?
2) since the tab will be playing the music, can it also act as a DSP or an equaliser via any available apps? Like what's the best way to get quality output from this setup?
3) can the controls be set up to connect the following to the tab, either via Bluetooth or via USB or via 3.2 jack and finally control them either by voice assistant or dashboard control buttons on the tab:
a) steering mounted controls for music player and calling,
b) FM radio antenna to connect to the tab,
c) reverse mirror, obd scanner, Aircon controls?
Thanks in advance!
Bump!! Pls reply to a noob

Here's how to remove audio lag in carplay (sound, music and most importantly call lag) - requires Carlinkit dongle

Just posted the same on reddit:
Gonna be a long read, with many tips
So, I have an Android headunit and was using the built-in Carplay app Zlink. Now I'm using Carlinkit dongle for Carplay, and here's why.
I'm referring to Carlinkit wireless carplay dongle, not Carlinkit wired to wireless adapter - very important!
As you already know, using Carplay in Android headunits generally introduces some audio lag, especially on wireless carplay. For example it takes some time after you press "next song" until the current song stops and the next one starts. Same with pause. Especially with wireless Carplay. The biggest issue for me is during phone calls, when you ask a question, takes a while to get an answer, and you also end up talking over eachother.
This is what I did: In the recent versions of Autokit with a recent version of the box firmware there is an advanced option to route audio through car bluetooth instead of through box. (not sure exactly what version you need, but latest versions have this option)If you select this, you need to connect your phone to the headunit bluetooth also, not only to autokit's box bluetooth (you connect to box BT for wireless)
Doing this allows for all audio to go through headunit's bluetooth which is basically lag-free.
So my setup is like this:
Wired: phone is connected by USB to dongle, and by BT to unitWireless: phone connects to box BT then to box WiFi for Carplay, and meanwhile also connects to head unit's BT for audio.
Advantages:
- No more lag when switching music or making calls, even in wireless carplay mode
- When the unit detects a call, it might do something smart that you want. Mine has a different volume for in-call, so I can now have louder phone calls without manually changing volume
- Since the phone is playing music over the BT connection, the unit is now aware that music is playing and knows artist and track name and it might display it somewhere, maybe have an overlay when changing tracks. Might be nice if you switch outside Carplay to some other screen/app on the unit.
- No more lag
- If unit has proper echo cancellation, it should work better, as BT is better controlled by the unit, unlike Carplay solutions which can have various delays that the unit cannot counter easily.
- If you were using built-in Carplay before (like I was), you wouldn't be able to use wireless Carplay and have internet from a hotspot, since unit's wifi was busy. If you switch to using Carlinkit dongle with Autokit, you free up unit's wifi and can now use a hotspot.
- Did I mention no more lag?
Disadvantages:
- Seems to use more battery when in wireless carplay mode, I think BT is less power efficient. My unit has BT 4.0, if yours has BT 5.0 maybe this would be better.
- This is a minor annoyance, but if your headunit BT is slow to connect to the phone (mine is) and you start playing music as soon as you have Carplay working (or have autoplay enabled), you might have music coming out of the phone speaker(s) for a few seconds, until unit BT connects and music goes to BT.
Beware the following:
- When using BT to listen to music, the volume on the phone matters, so make sure to turn it up to max. This volume level will be saved separately from usual phone volume though, so it's not a problem.
- Latest version of Autokit didn't find box updates for me, so if this option is not in the advanced settings, you might need to revert to an older version and use that to update box, then update app.
- After making this setup and trying to make a call, you might not hear anything, as the phone might use the carplay connection instead of the bluetooth connection. Just switch output from the phone "audio" button, and it seems to remember it for next times.
- Depending on the headunit and the software, when you get a call with this setup, headunit might decide to switch to it's own bluetooth phone app or just show an overlay. If it switches and it bothers you, try to find a solution specific to your unit. If it's an overlay and you want to remove it, what worked for me was going into android settings for app permissions and removing permission to draw over other apps for the unit's bluetooth app.
thanks for your post; i have a carplay dongle connected to an android headunit; when i call someone they have a very annoying echo voice. i wish it improves when my phone it connect to headunit bluetooth for calls
Are you able to get navigation audio using this option? I have the same dongle and was hoping I would get navigation too but I only get music audio. If I say "Hey Siri" just before Waze/Google Maps is about to prompt then I can hear the audio but doesn't really help me when driving. Looks like in my car the Navigation audio is going over the Siri channel? Not sure if anyone has a work around for that. Could be the way my car has bluetooth setup -- it's a 2012.
Can you provide a link or exact model for the "Carlinkit wireless carplay dongle"?

What is your box version?
When I try audio routing, on my iPhone still it shows Carplay as sound output option.
I tried this same option, but when my iPhone connects to wireless CarPlay, the head unit (not the dongle) turn off the bluetooth automatically, anyone knows how to stop this?

Wait, What??? the only way to remove the 3 second lag from headunit with zlink is by buying a dongle ??? I paid extra for Carplay/Android Auto Headunit.
And the 3 seconds delay is driving me nuts. This happens even without the zlink app open.
The dongle is carlinkit Autokit (CPC200-CCPA)? It is specially made for Android head units.

TS10 CarPlay audio only plays through front speakers unless Google Assistant is activated

Hi all,
I recently purchased and installed an Android headunit for my Mitsubishi Lancer. So far, I have been very happy with the product.
However, I have come across one issue.
The headunit uses the T-Link app pre-installed to allow for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto through Bluetooh and wireless - this works well. I use the spotify app to listen to music on Apple CarPlay, but when listening to music, all the sound only plays through the front 2 door speakers. This also means some songs are missing some pieces of music and everything just sounds compressed and stereo. This is until I activate the Google Assistant by pressing my steering wheel voice assistant button. When this activates and the headunit starts to use the microphone to listen to my voice, the music from spotify in Apple CarPlay can be heard through all the speakers and sounds like how it should - surround, not compressed, etc. Once I cancel Google Assistant the music returns back to just the front two speakers.
This issue doesn’t occur elsewhere on the Android headunit that I’ve discovered. For example, FM radio sounds normal and goes through all speakers.
I need some help fixing this. I have messaged the seller of the headunit for help but also wanted to post here in case the community could help too.
Thank you
Also to add to this - now Siri does not work. Attempting to get Siri to activate or read out a text causes CarPlay to freeze and the following message to appear (translated from Chinese):
"Sorry, the program "SpeedPlay" is abnormal and will be restarted soon"
before CarPlay (T Link) suddenly closes)
Really need some help on this one please!
