Just a quick update on the power issue in 30O..
Two issues that ended up in the build were identified and fixed. They weren't affecting everyone and were subject to hardware variations and timing, but our engineers worked quickly to get them resolved. The first issue was a very low-level system bus problem, while the second was a problem with how the proximity sensor is used to prevent false unlocks from gestures and double taps. We pride ourselves in the performance and low power consumption of 11S, and after these fixes our lab tests show improved numbers vs. 25R! This will go out as a small hotfix as soon as it's approved. Additionally, we are preparing another update in parallel that brings a few new features, a beautified lock screen, audio enhancements, polish on the new features in 30O, and of course bug fixes.
Both of these new builds are in the final testing and approval phases. I can't give any ETA because we are subject to third parties, but you should see the power hotfix in the next couple of days with the bigger update right on it's heels.
To ensure this doesn't happen again, we are bulking up our automated test systems to cover more cases, more often. Being a startup is both a blessing and a curse- while we can move fast on issues and updates, we are still building our automation and infrastructure. We depend on your feedback to tell us what we're doing right, as well as wrong! Additionally, we are working hard to reduce the time between updates even further so that they are more manageable.
Hang in there for just a bit and that unkillable battery will make a triumphant return.

It's an old post. Fix still under test and would be released when approved internally in CM. Been waiting for the hotfix since past few days.
This drain is so damn annoying. Been thinking of rolling back but really need the speaker phone fix that came in this update.

Ater two full days on 30O im seriously thinking about going back to 25R. I've gone from 48 hours between charges and 7 hours sot to 18 hours between charges an 3.5 hours sot. The sad part is im sure as soon as I revert the update will come out and Ill have to start over again. Im going to give it at leat one more day.

I wonder if we go back to 25r if we will have to go to 30O then apply the new update or will they have a "new and improved" fixed 30O? BTW is your ability to have a different wallpaper on your lockscreen than on your home screen broken also?
I'm lucky if I can get 4 hours screen on time... Given I don't get good service for 8 hours, but still. I tried all the "fixes" out there. No luck.

I am sure we will in my experience updates always tend to successive based on the previous rarely are they all inclusive.

Using the battery monitor widget I noticed my drain to be around 250ma with good signal and screen on, and well over 650ma when no signal. So keep in mind that lack of signal can triple your drain :/

I came from SGS6 Edge and feel the frustration that I can't see the counter(Badge) on apps like Gmail, WhatsApp etc.
Does anyone feel the pain and have alternatives.
I tried nova & apex but didn't like them.

I honest cannot believe there is no way of telling how many texts, emails, snapchats, etc I have until I open each app individually? Seriously, how do you guys live like that haha. I thought id give android another chance for like the 4th time now and with this Nexus 6P i was super excited, but how on earth am I supposed to use a phone and never be able to know if I have a single notification... f*ck gonna have to go back to an iPhone again if I cant sort this? There is no rom I can flash to enable badges like in previous versions of android maybe? My old s6 and my buddies brand new Sony dont have this problem wtf Nexus...

I use Nova Launcher with TeslaUnread. TeslaUnread allows customizing the badge displayed on app icons. I've been using this combo for years.

Never mind I see now how to select more apps. It's just lame because I usually just swipe away notifications because they are in the way and that renders them as read and it's confusing because I just didn't want them in my way when I'm reading or gaming for example

Yea, I can understand that. This is stock Android though and I don't believe that's been native before, which is fine. At least with this setup, you get what you want depending on the app. I don't use Snapchat or FB Messenger so idk their behavior with this. For me, badges display for Gmail and Messenger (texts) even if I swipe away the notification.

Nexus 6P has basic android installed. The way it works for Google, notifications show up on top. That's why they didn't mind making a notification badge.
I use Notifyer+ and it works great!

This has to be a troll thread.
Every single notification you get shows up in your notification bar. If you're swiping them away without replying and then forgetting you have notifications, that is a user problem....not an Android problem.:fingers-crossed:

I use Nova Launcher with TeslaUnread. I wasn't using those before last week and still manage all my notifications super well. TeslaUnread can be configured per app for those notifications you are asking.

Why post if you have nothing helpful to say nor can you see why this would be an issue for some people? Some OEM's have this out of the box on their phones. Stock Android does not. I prefer to see the number of unread texts, emails, or calls on their respective apps so I can make sure to check them when I can at work. My mentality is, why keep a cluttered status bar/notification tray? This makes incoming messages more difficult to see.

So today I found out that the latest version of Swipe for Facebook (I think, pretty sure) created major problems. Pixel launcher would constantly crash, phone became semi useless cause of that. Then a couple reboots later, screen would go black after unlocking pass code. So I had to factory reset it. I reinstalled swipe and bam Pixel launcher crashed. So I used Google assistant to open Google play store and Uninstalled the app. So far no issue. My phone is a Google version and unlocked bootloader.

Ya very true. But ya know some of us can't live without it. I'm now using Friendly Facebook app. Seems to have no issues. I did email the dev team for swipe to let them know though.

It is that simple. Plus it smells more like a problem that the developer of the app needs to resolve, rather then being beware for the "pixel".
So report it to the developer instead of just ranting here, I think that might be a lot more productive. Or don't use it. Either way, not a "Pixel" issue....

Yup, several times. I've never seen a user app from the play store brick a phone like this. Completely unrecoverable.

actually, i have had issues where it was the programme's fault for the un-usable galaxy nexus (back in mah day (puts teeth back in)), i was able to pull the apk off via other methods. and soon after an update to that app was pushed. cant remember the app, but it was a big company. turns out, it was several devices that had this issue with similar chip types or something along that line.

I'm not saying it wasn't a problem with the app. What I am saying is that it is not a run of the mill app crashing, where you just uninstall and everything is good. Having someone or now two people mention it took a factory reset to fix things after installing the app is useful. Then people can decide to take a chance or wait.
Ignore them, uninstalling swipe made my pixel great again so we know it's not fake

He probably lucked out and got the 7.2.1 update instead of 7.2. From people's response here as well as reviews on the Play Store, this **** was no joke.
This was horrible for me. For some reason even though my phone was setup 48 hours prior cloud backup did not back up my texts. So because of **** testing on a Play Store app I lost all my messages. I'd like to know exactly what the **** did the developer do to cause this. I've never seen a Play Store app this damaging before. I've honestly never had anything like this happen on a stock device. Only back when messing around with ROMs and mods.

Yeah, crazy. I've never seen this happen on a stock rom before either. I actually enjoy friendly Facebook better than swipe. Seems to work better with notifications and seems smoother than when swipe used to work.

So true. It's amazing to me that with all of Facebook's resources and with how much they rely on mobile users, that their mobile app is still so f***ing terrible. I was having some lag/stuttering issues on my LG V30 and after uninstalling facebook and LG's built in facebook installer app, my phone started running buttery smooth and hasn't hiccuped since. Now I just check facebook occasionally when I'm in front of my computer.
Uninstalling it from your phone immediately shows you how little you need that crap feed in your life.
Facebook is and always will be coded like garbage.

after a long wait i received my note 4 snapdragon this morning first thing i did like most people was to check for update OTA & there was one an miui 9.0.5.0 so i updated the phone however i noticed Notifications are not working,i'm not been notified for any of my apps like ebay,email,gumtree,youtube...etc this to me is a real Deal Breaker a phone which can't display notifications is like having an old 90's classic nokia phone,i had an old LG Magna which was working perfectly displaying all notifications on android 6. what can i do to fix this issue ? phone looks great but software wise it's broken

looks like you are new to miui, go to settings and go to notification ,there you have to enable notifications icons .

nope i had used miui 9 and i am one of the fan of miui , and i never face any kind of issue ,
or if you want to jump custom rom then pixel experiance 8.1 is the best option ...

Unlock bootloader and flash custom rom

Change your phone location to taiwan...then check for ota...you will get an ota of 309mb for miui 9.0.7...this update solves the notification bug...after updating.. again change the location to your country...i did it today...i m from India...and all the known bugs are gone...must give a try

i was about to do this but someone on the MIUI forum said MIUI updates are specific for the region they're released for & won't be the same as other regions. i wasn't sure if this was true but to be on the safe side i didn't update. what do you think ?

one of the main reasons i bought the note 4 is because i really liked the MIUI OS & i can do without the hassle of unlocking my bootloader i feel the phone runs more stable on official updates

I haven't tried it myself but I always thought notifications weren't working for me if things like battery saver or miui optimization were enabled in developer options. for example I can receive textra sms notifications fine and a few other apps but not from Line messenger. I never tried disabling it to see if it fixed I'm just guessing but I did google about it before. some will say turning off miui optimization fixes certain things. that could make sense if u stop letting it mess with background data to conserve power. others will also say it's a problem with miui 9 itself that xiaomi needs to fix
latest firmware update has resolved my issues but i had to use outlook app for email as the stock email app notifications did not work

Anyone know how to have a banner as a notification? One that you can swipe away instead of a little bubble you can expand and have to drag into a little garbage.

Does anyone know why it takes 5+ minutes to download a 40mb app. I did a factory reset and the way things are looking I'm looking at about 6hrs to download all my apps. My WiFi is 400mbps so it's pretty fast. I tried clearing the cash for the playstore and play services to no avail. Any ideas?

Same experience here. Did some tests in comparison to my Oneplus 6 which is at least two times faster. I tried with different S10+'s, same results. It's a nice phone, but you have to be patient

My question is, is there anyway to use the Edge lighting to show when charging? I miss the physical LED that indicated when the phone was charging!

You can use the app Always On Edge for that purpose.

Not that I know. I know that good Lock adds functionality to edge lighting but not that function in particular. Maybe someone else could chime in. On a brighter note I saw in a Samsung forum that Samsung was working on giving the lights around the camera some of those led functions. It didn't come from Samsung officially so who knows. That being said RIP phisical LED!

Hi, when I update or download apps from play store, there's no progress in the notification. But apps do get updated/downloaded.
S10+ Chinese SD version.
Anyone has any insights? Thanks in advance.

Well that's normal behavior. The only progress bar you'll see is in the app store itself and if you happen to be using one of the apps being updated it might force close. I'm not sure sure what the question is. Maybe a bit more details in regards to what you're trying to accomplish might help. ?

Hi All
Im experiencing a drop in data connectivity once in a while, be it with browser, fb, ig, youtube etc. BUT my 4G icon is still available and present at the navigation bar with full service reception.
I called my provider if there is any issues on their end but they said all is fine up and running.
Anybody having this issues or isit my baseband faulty or some kind? Snapdragon hardware btw. I have hard reset it by using the buttons but still no use.
Im an avid android geek having 3 4 phone changed in a year but this is by far the most frustrated device yet
Please help do i need to turn off some settings or what not?
Hopefully its just a software glitch or something it would be a hassle to send in for investigation.
Did you try a "Reset network settings"? That would probably be my first step in troubleshooting.

Am I blind? Or am I just not seeing how to use the AR emojis in other SMS apps (tried both Android Messages and Chomp SMS)? I'm not a big fan of the stock SMS app.

No need to remove it. After latest update, deleting old scan and setting a new one it works perfect even with "prebuilt" protector.

Are you giving it a bit of time? I noticed that it's kind of a crapshoot at first but now after 2 weeks it's like 98%

Depending on the keyboard you're using just press + or whatever you do if you're adding a picture and select the AR emoji you want from your album. Is that not working for you?

I can do that but I cannot find in gallery, or anywhere else, the AR emojis. It only seems to work in the stock Messages app as it puts a dedicated button for this purpose in the input box.

Are you sure it's the stock messaging app or is it the stock keyboard?
