EU version : you can change the launcher easily if that's your concern.

My concern is, that german as language is available.

Does anyone know whether anyone is working on a LineageOS build for this device, and if so when is it coming out?
Planning to get either this or Redmi Mi9T Pro, but can't use them before it has a LineageOS build. The Redmi LOS17 build seems already fairly stable, but nothing so far for the Realme 2X Pro...

Just ordered mine, and shipping (5-9 days) was 10 euros to Bulgaria. I am not sure but at the end the price was 445 euros for this 12GB / 256GB variant ..which is a deal and with this specs the phone can lasts and bee good enough for at least 2 years ...

Yepp, hardware-wise this thing is a beast:
90 hz Oled display
12 gb ROM
256 gb Ram
Snapdragon 855 plus
Dual Speakers
4000 Mah battery
SUPER fast charging 50W
UFS 3.1 Storage
So on the hardware side I doubt we'll see any meaningful improvements the coming years, except maybe camera tech, and maybe if Samsung finally launches their new battery. Sure Foldables are cool, I really want a Razr type of foldable phone, but it will simply be too expensive the next few years.
Only downside is really the camera software, but if we get a good G-cam port I will be satisfied, I don't take that many photos anyway. It's quite amazing that you can get these types of specs for the asking price, go back 3 years and the mid-range phones were mostly ****.

If i remember correctly the launch price for the Galaxy S7 was like 700 Euros? So not entirely true, but even brands like Oneplus cost much more than the X2 pro today which is crazy.

This will replace my Oneplus 3 (which cost me 399€).
So with this good hardware (and double the ram and 4x the Rom (64 vs 256 GB) the x2 pro will certainly be my phone for the next 3 years. I have my Oneplus 3 for 3,5 years now.

Just ordered mine, 12+256 at 440 USD with shipping to California... insane

I hope mine arrives at the weekend. Shipped on wednesday from France...short way to Germany.
The specs are awesome. Just a detail: the phone has two batteries (2*2000mAh).

Yes, that's for being able to charge at 10V and 5A. Basically, 2* ( 5V, 5A) in parallel.

Review from Android Authority

Android Authority just released there video review of the Mate 7, while they do decent reviews in a realistic way it says a lot when they gave him a "EDITOR'S CHOICE"
Nice review, this is gonna make it harder for me to choice which device i go for in 2 months from now. (Nexus 6, Note4, Mate 7)

Its a good review indeed and I'm pretty much on the same boat as you word er gek van!
The specs aren't that great compared to the note 4/nexus 6 tho.
The thing that I do like is the battery size.
I'm concerned about the software updates tho, Huawei doesn't have a good track record of that.

The specs are indeed not comparable with the Note 4 and the Nexus 6, but it comes very close to them (especially when you keep in mind it is 200$/euro cheaper) and in normal day to day usage you wouldn't notice the difference anyway because in speed, screen quality the difference is to small to notice. (If you dont compare them everyday)
But also my major concern of the Mate 7 is the official update support and rom development, because when i buy a new phone/renewal contract i keep the phone for 2 years.
And if they do the same trick as they did with the "Mate 2" it would be very disappointing, an update support for 24 months on a new device (Mate 7) would be in place if they want to compete against Samsung and Apple.
And second it comes to custom rom development....when do not update the phone in a proper way (or not what i had in mind) i want to be able to flash custom roms, and while there is ROM development on different Chinese forums, i am a bit skeptical if there going to be enough development on this XDA forum.
And i have not enough free time (Father, 3 kids ) that i can make my own roms they way i did in the past on my galaxy S1.
This is my vision at the moment.
I have not decided yet, my renewal is on the first week of januari 2015 so i have almost 2 months to look where the Mate 7 development is going to

Well, the review said it's 700 dollars. That ain't cheaper than a nexus 6. Pretty expensive for the hardware you get imo.
I'm still undecided, depends if the 3gb 32 gig version comes to The Netherlands.

499 euro in the netherlands for the 2gb/16gb version and 549 euro for the 3gb/32gb version, see link below
Note 4 is 700 euro and Nexus should be around (guessing) 650 euro?
The 3 versions in dutch webshop
So yeah, the price difference isn't that much (200-300euro) if you keep in mind that i use the phone 2 years.
So i hope that the mediamarkt or another phone shop is getting the Huawei on stock so i can see and try it out in my own eyes and hands
Phonearena just did a comparison. I am disappointed with the camera tbh and was hoping for better quality but this is an area huawei are quite weak.

Good prize for the Gold in 3 Go of ram and 32 Go of memory but not in stock ... it's a real dual sim or only european 1 sim ?
What's happening with the warranty on this site and full compatible in Belgium with Base, Mobistar or Proximus ?
Hi all, and especially the Dutch posting here :highfive:
I've been considering this phone ever since I heard about it. I've got big hands and love the wideness of the Note 3. Most phones are long, but slim. The Mate7 is even a little bit wider, and has smaller bezels. Sounds perfect! That it doesn't have the best hardware doesn't bother me that much, if the batterylife is half of what it seems to be.
Has anyone gotten their hands on one of the Mate7's, preferably with 3GB RAM, and know how it's batterylife is doing? And if in Europe, where did you order yours? What would be a good shop?

The battery life is awesome, 4100 mHa! You can order the international version at Amazon DE France, for 2 GB RAM L09 version. We have sold units 3 GB RAM TL10 version to Holland and it works perfectly there.
Thanks for your reply! Do you know when the black 3GB version will be released? The gold doesn't really appeal to me. The live chat at liaow told me it could take a couple of weeks.

Our HUAWEI lady said not in a month or so. The silver version is running as limited production now. Really, the Gold looks very nice in hands, confirmed by several forum members (who also are our customers).
The Gold version is also OOS and the situation will last till Mid December. In this month, HUAWEI will deliver 1.4 M units to China Mobile, China TeleCom, and China UniCom. So the premium version, 3 GB ROM 32 GB RAM version, will be limited manufactured.
Glad to hear T-Mobile and AT&T LTE work on it..

Don't be. Plus it's to be expected that they'd get either an Enhanced or Prime (well except now obviously it's a Pro so) out. Not that I defend Xiaomi but they're not the only ones struggling to balance out price points.
Subject to individual preference of course, sure both 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage are more than welcome but are you sure you don't want to pair those to a slightly more capable SoC with better GPU OR at least with an FHD screen instead?
As for me being Malaysian when Mi are lagging their ass in their own sweet time to even bring in proper official Redmi 3/ido sets on time let alone this Pro I can't be arsed to wait and definitely are happy with how much I've paid for my imported set so yeah.
Hello everyone, does someone know, will the PRO version have capacity buttons light?
Any news here yet? It says 4th of April, but I can't really find anything yet.
It will be more great if :
Super AMOLED 2560 x 1440 pixels or QHD+ with Gorilla Glass 5 with 3D or Force Touch too
SD652 or SD825 in it
USB Type-C
QC 3.0 or Super VOOC
24 UltraPixel with f/1.2 main camera & 24 UltraPixel front camera with f/1.2 (Best lowlight) dual-pixel + iSight technology
Micro SD Card (up to 512Gb) slot separetly from SIM 2nd Slot
10.000 mAh battery capacity
What do you think?

Ah that's a shame, live and learn I guess. DHL was a pound more but showing as 60% discount, so I assumed that it was the better value option.

Thanks!
Hello I just get my redmi 3 Pro. I am installing some apps and noticed that heats up very fast. Does anyone feel the same?
Also sorry if my english is bad im spanish speaker. :good:
I'm not sure whether I should buy the pro version or the non-pro version, if I'm buying the pro version, can I use the ROMs from the non-pro version?
Some one can help me, where is price cheapest?
i'm want to buy PRO version
I've now received my Redmi 3 Pro and after a week of use I am very happy with it. I'm getting 6-7 hours of screen on time, the camera is much better than the reviews led me to believe, and it's been an all round decent experience. The only thing that is bugging me is that I'm on the Chinese ROM and don't seem to have a clear answer on whether the Redmi 3 ROMs will work or will brick my device. Ideally I'd run CM12, but even the Global Miui would be better than the Chinese one.
Redmi 3 Roms seem yet not to work with pro version. Fingerprint and network seem not to work.
Waiting for a fixed release of EU rom.

Well, ain't I lucky. http://es.aliexpress.com/store/1986585 <-- may NOT want to get something there. I ordered a Xiaomi Redmi3, but I got a 2nd hand Samsung E7, packaged in their own unique tape and all. Had to escalate the dispute with Aliexpress, luckily they helped me out.
I guess I may be trying again for the pro version. Any other reviewers?

Worthy Successor to Nexus 5X?

OK so the N5X is 3 years old now... any new phones out or coming out that are similar in price (budget-mid price range), and will have similar custom ROM support?
Just curious, as my N5X is still going strong, but there seems to be a roadblock on getting Android Pie to be fully functional in the few attempts I see (encryption?)
I've been keeping an eye on the new Nokia #.1 devices, and other similar specc'd phones.
Thanks.

I replaced my Nexus 5x with an Essential PH-1 on Prime day. This is the first non Nexus device I ever owned but it's very much a spiritual successor to the Nexus lineup. I am waiting for it to go back on sale again so I can pick one up for my mom.
I would consider something like the OnePlus/Oppo if it were available on Sprint but unfortunately my device selection is limited being on this provider.

Those are still pretty spendy at $400+. I'm looking for the $300 or less range, same as the 5X was. I really can't see spending that much for a phone, as I'm not quite as hooked into it as some seem to be, I just need a nice reliable device I can customize easily like the 5X.
Nokia 7+ or Xiaomi Mi A2. Both Android One.
Nokia 7.1 (processor isn’t very good though), Nokia 7.1 Plus (awesome if launches globally near China price) or Nokia 8.1 (TBA).

I did... a little quirky, kept locking up, other little issues. I don't think Pie will be viable for the N5X in the long run.
Right now I'm running latest Oreo stock but rooted with Magisk and Franco kernel.
I'm asking about new phones, not ways to keep my old phone running.

you can try the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE or The Pocophone F1 the Poco has a flagship specs with snapdragon 845 but its camera is not pretty good because Xiaomi just nerf the Poco's camera in the stock camera so you have to install a google camera. Mi 8 SE has snapdragon 710 which is quite rare and according to some people, it's a Snapdragon 845 with a weaker GPU.

From everything I found, at that price point, the Pocophone is the best one, anything cheaper is way worse and not many things a little bit more expensive like at $400 or $500 are still not as good as it is. You don't really have to worry about warranty if you buy on Amazon though, if Xiaomi don't give you warranty, Amazon will as well as the resellers so don't worry about that. Bellow that 300 bucks, you may also get some other Xiaomi phones with good specs but most of them are using snapdragon 6xx which is not quite good.
Essential phone is truly the lowest price replacement of good quality.
I wouldn't recommend that pocophone for anyone in America because it doesn't work on Verizon or Sprint.
The pixel phones are all decent, but they have major hardware issues and look ugly.
LG makes the best looking and some of the most feature rich phones, but can't ever update software. (V30 is just an awesome phone form factor tho)
If I had to recommend a few replacements these would be it:
Galaxy s8 or newer Samsung flagships (TouchWiz is better than stock Android in 2018 amazingly)
Essential phone
LG v30*
Oneplus 6t (No other OnePlus phones though because the rest are beat by Galaxy s8/s9 and the essential phone at every price point)
*For v30 you must be a regular headphone jack user. That quad dac is amazing. Makes a $10 pair of headphones sound like $150, and regular car speakers sound like a full on audio upgrade. Being an LG there is next to no software support and no dev support, but the audio almost makes up for it.

Other option to consider however....
Downgrade to upgrade.
The 5x sucks you'll be happier with a Galaxy note 4, note 3, or a Nexus 6 as they are all faster and better phones in 2018 due to having 3gb of ram.
Plus they have great dev support and in the note devices extended batteries that can last a long time. Going from a Nexus 5x to any flagship with 3gb or more of ram in the last 5 years is really a massive upgrade. That 1gb of ram is the difference between usable and unusable.

Thanks for all that, Nascar. Lot's to consider, but the 'downgrade to upgrade' is a valid point. I was eyeing some refurb Galaxy s# phones, maybe I'll go for that.
I have bought a OnePlus 6 with the discount from Black Friday (and that will be valid until Christmas, I think). It is exactly the same price as the Nexus 5x 32gb originally.: $429,00. In this sense I think it is a proper successor. It is a little big, though.
And I disagree with the post above. The S8 is a great phone, but it is worse than the OnePlus 6 in most aspects but the camera.

buying phone from AliExpress

Hey everyone I'm thinking about buying a new phone but i never bought anything from China before and i heard something about vat and import duties I have no idea what that is I'm in the USA btw
Also the phone has free shipping via AliExpress so do i just have to pay for the phone and no tax etc?

You pay the vat tax and hypothetically you would pay an import tax into the US. But only if the value is above $2500.
The itself Vat is the tax, and coming from China its should be about 16% of the declared value. Sometimes the shipper will declare a smaller value than what you actually paid.

US doesn't charge the Vat, the country that you export from charges the tax. At least that is what happened when I bought a guitar in China. But I may have gotten scammed since I didn't pay a Vat for other things that I purchased.
I just attempted to walk through the steps of purchasing a phone ( Online) to see if it would process the Vat charge and it did not. So maybe you will not pay any Vat? To be clear the US will not charge you anything unless its value is over $2500
Nice Phone BTW
Here's a screenshot of my order back in July. It's just like if you order something from amazon or ebay, nothing special, at least not with an order like this

Okay ?
Here is what i noticed so far compared to my le pro 3
The battery life is awesome almost 10 hours of sot (Facebook, WhatsApp, messenger, YouTube, wifi) the camera is wayyyy better than the leeco (leave AI mode off) speaker is decent, build quality is amazing the only downside is the micro usb charging port....cpu is snappier that the leeco but the GPU is decent and ram management is just terrible

I only play garena free fire it isn't a demanding game but the kirin 710 is clearly a faster than the SD 821 when it comes to lunching apps

Hmm if that's the case, then the Kirin 960 or 970 should perform overall much better in all aspects
Actually I've been looking more and the Kirin chipsets seem to be more for non-gaming as opposed to the Snapdragons. That combined with looking for a phone that's compatible with T-Mobile/MetroPCS, it looks like ZTE/Nubia Z17 might be my choice to upgrade to.

You know when it's due out? I checked gsmarena and it says not announced. Did a quick comparision though between the Adreno 530 and the Adreno 616 and the 530 still tops it..then again you said u weren't going for gaming ;p
The idea about the Nubia z17 for me I don't think is gonna work out, it doesn't have band 2, which I probably need for MetroPCS. Bands 2 and 4 are the 2 I use. the x720 is missing bands 12, 25, 26, 66, and 71, so I have no idea if I got a phone that had those (almost all are expensive) if they would even be utilized or not. I'm debating on maybe the Honor View 10, it has 2, 4, 5, and 12 at least.
The phone that gets my attention is the Xiaomi BlackShark it has all the main bands for AT&T and T-Mobile... A big battery and screen sd845cpu 6gb ram 64gb storage just under $400 on eBay
I love my lex727 but it's getting a bit on the rough side with scratches on the screen I'd get another one but their isn't any new ones left on eBay
I ended up buying the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 SE for $300, 8/128, I think I'ma have this one for quite a while

Where to buy from

So let's get a list started as for Europe it won't be avail until some point next month.

Sorry for the ignorance, I'm new to purchasing foreign phones; is this something I could buy right now from aliexpress for use in the US or do I have to wait for a 'global version' to be released?

this really depends on which network you are and what bands do they use, you could check the phones supported bands on gsmarena. also keep in mind any import tax and levy charges.
Wait for the EU/International release, because the Chinese one is lacking of proper DRM support, so forget about HD/Full HD Netflix content

At that price is the least trade-off you could make, waiting a few more minutes to copy your files over usb.
Tell me another snapdragon phone with a headphone jack ?
And the biggest plus I see is the 50W charging, they claim 35 minutes from 0 to full but I saw reviews on youtube that timed it even less to 28 minutes.
If only someone could make a LineageOS 16 or 17 build for this phone I would be sold

I'm not interested in the faster file transfer but usb 3.1 allows you to output video like the OnePlus 7 series.
Another Snapdragon 855 phone with headphone jack K20/Mi 9T Pro. 855+ Rog Phone 2

Asus Rog II is indeed a spectacular phone, it ticks almost all the boxes, perhaps only camera and dev community popularity. And it is still a bit more expensive the the X2 PRO.
For video out isn't it still cheaper to get the 450 euro X2Pro 128/8 + a 39 euro Chromecast as compare with a 7T which is 600 ?
I now have a OnePlus 6 myself but seriously considering buying the X2 pro since is 150 euro cheaper than 7T and I will probably be able to flash a LineageOS on it, if not right now then perhaps towards the end of year.

When outputting videos and playing emulators, Chromecast won't cut it.
Realme said that v7 will a close to stock Android experience. 7T prices will be lower on websites such as eglobal central in a month or so.

7t is already 420 euros on Aliexpress but shipping from China means import taxes plus there is the issue of warranty.
Preorders will be on 4th November
