Not sure which Nov factory image to flash... (C2 vs non-C2) - Google Pixel 4 Questions & Answers

Looking at the available factory images here:
https://developers.google.com/android/images
I see there are two versions for November...
10.0.0 (QD1A.190821.014, Nov 2019)
and
10.0.0 (QD1A.190821.014.C2, Nov 2019)
EDIT: NVM, I found it...
https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/18553639?hl=en
Looks like the C2 version is for Verizon/AT&T. So if you have an unlocked version, don't flash that.

Well this is strange...
I downloaded the 10.0.0 (QD1A.190821.014, Nov 2019) factory image. Then I removed "-w" to flash it without wiping everything using the edited Flash-all script. Everything went through with no errors and the phone rebooted no problem. But it's still telling me I'm on the October patch 10.0.0 (QD1A.190821.007, Oct 2019) and not the November patch that I just flashed. Anyone else run into this?
EDIT 1: Platform tools just need to be updated
EDIT 2: The November patch completely broke face unlock. Multiple tries deleting and redoing my facial recognition settings and many reboots... nothing fixed it. I went back to the October factory image and face unlock is fixed again. I'm thinking the face unlock issues may be the reason why Google is delaying the roll out of the November update.

I had this exact same problem. Try flashing the .007.A3 that fixed it for me.

Advanced Boot List

Just installed Pure Nexus on my Nexus 6P and it runs great. One observation I have noticed is the absence of being able to boot to Recovery in the Advanced Boot List. Seems odd to me. Also, an unrelated question about updating. Just noticed a new release for 'angler' 7.1.2 (N2G48C, Aug 2017) this afternoon. Can you update the Vendor image alone from the newly released version before the next new Pure Nexus update comes out or must you wait because it might otherwise screw-up your phone? Thanks.

Nexus 10 - update from July to August -- result: bootloops!~

Hello!
I am using LOS 13... no gapps!
I update only when Android Security Bulletin (ASB) gets merged...
I was on July ASB nightly... everything was fine...
Updated from around July 22 nightly to August 12 nightly... Big Mistake! Things went bad.
Oh, I have to flash LOS SU binary everytime, which I did.
Getting bootloops, taking too long, and it goes to optimizing apps, then, before finishing, reboots!
I tried flashing older nightly and newer, 26 aug, one from feb, and again 12 aug, ... with and without SU binary... no luck!
Same problem as mentioned above! When I do manage to get in, apps are force closing, Trebuchet errors, settings options freeze/close, file manager, etc. Some apps works, some force close. And, root is not available even when flashed.
Is this even related to related to current SUPERSU problems being reported?
I looked at recovery.log and kernel.log -- don't know wtf to look for.
I am going to factory reset and start fresh... pain in the A$#
I am asking if anyone else had problems and what could be the cause because I don't want this to happen again when I flash an update next month. I have had no problems since Jan this year!
Thanks!
Identical situation here, never had problems before... Still hoping to avoid factory reset...
Same problem for me, on DU rom, had random reboots constantly since a few days ago. Tried doing a factory reset first, then a factory reset and reinstalled rom and gapps, but every time before the optimizing apps dialog disappears it reboots. I'm going to try installing a different rom.
Update: Wiped system/cache/dalvik/data, installed RR, same problems as before. Tried skipping account setup, android worked fine. Logged in and again the constant reboots.
I guess the nexus is unusable for now.. Hope someone comes with a solution asap
Same here as well... Factory reset didn't help... Every attempt seemed to work in the beginning but bootloops started again soon afterwards.
Thank for replying!
Thanks: Thank you guys for replying! At least now I feel like I am not crazy or alone... especially with such an old device!
What I did: factory reset+Complete wipe (data, cache, system, etc.)/+factory reset... installed TWRP (update), then, LOS 13 8/26 nightly, (no GAPPS), alternative store... and then, apps <--- pain in the ass to do but I got there!
Things are working fine... but I fear still! I am running the basic (minimal, essential) config+apps, just in case things go wrong again!
Rant: I just don't understand how hard it could be to simply patch monthly security updates carefully, while keeping things stable. [I complain, but of course, I am not doing it ; ) ] I blame Oreo coming out 22 aug, as all eye balls moved to LOS 15 bring up!
Future: I might have to look into an alternative ROM myself... with ROOT and without GAPPS... but most important an active community. Let me know if you guys have any suggestions -- something working well with better (active) community support!
PS: August ASB has been merged (LOS 13) but no zip file has been generated yet! I hope that does not fsck things up again, when I flash!
Thanks!
Now it got me too. Yesterday i flashed the current / official LOS13 nightly 09/9 and since reboot i've constant bootloops.
Help! I've got a bootloop problem, the Nexus 10 will not hard reset, it just goes back into android os then re boots.
I first tried to backup and reset from within the device by using settings backup and reset
that sent it into an endless bootloop which then led me to try the hard reset with power and vol up down then power and vol up to access the erase all data setting but that still goes back to the android os, and before you have a chance to do anything re boots. So the hard reset is not working, what do I need to flash it via windows or mac and how do I do that? This is my 1st post so if anyone can help me thanks in advance. I am hoping that something along the lines of this will fix it. https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-10/general/guide-how-to-install-android-t3312390 any help is great appreciated
For me, it turned out that the latest nightly of LOS seems to have a problem with additional launchers. For me Nova was installed. After the factory reset and reinstalling of all apps I installed Lawnchair-Launcher and the problems started again. I managed to deinstall it and everything is running smoothly again.
In my case it's happening even without additional launchers installed, I just have Trebuchet that comes with LOS13...
Update from 8/26 to 9/9 -- all good, so far!
Hello!
The instructions from your link on how to clean install and update Nexus 10 are excellent!
I clean wiped and installed LOS 13 on Nexus 10 -- 8/26 nightly and then, updated to 9/9 nightly with August ASB merged! -- I have had it going for a few days -- and so far not experiencing any problems! I have additionally flashed SU to have root access and no GAPPS!
Some one else has a thread [https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-10/help/nexus-10-manta-lineage-os-13-bootloop-t3672215] and thinks that not launchers (or other apps) but something else within the system is the problem. I think I agree, because, I had basic LOS 13 running all along, with SU root and no GAPPS. Going from July to August, I had bootloop/force close/app crash problems!
Something is definitely going on -- so, I am running just a basic setup for now! Not sure if we will get LOS 14.1... maybe! I am going to update carefully and only after backing up data, when new ASBs get merged -- just in case this happens again!
Thanks!~

Folks, there is a defect open in the official lineage bug tracking system. please add your comments there - maybe this needs some more support to get looked at:
https://jira.lineageos.org/browse/BUGBASH-1075

Tried to get Oreo update, instead got another Dec. security patch. Anyone else?

So I saw that Oreo update is coming in batches, so I tried to get it (by tapping check update button million times).
Suddenly, I got a update, but it is not a Oreo update.
Instead, I got another December patch, with size about 1100mb. I already had second December update, with build number N2G47H.7.12.19.
Is there supposed to be a third Dec. update?
Okay, for curious guys like me, it is an Oreo update. There's absolutely no description about it being O, but it apparently it is!
I think it's the Oreo update! I got it too (after cleaning Google Framework Services, restarting and pressing the update button a few times).
It is oreo. Surprisingly they did not mention it in the description. However, Android O was written in the notification of system update.
I have also received another update. It is downloading
It's Oreo
Isn't deleting the framework cache bad?

Softbricked 6p

So yesterday I thought my gfs Nexus 6p was bootlooping and needed the fix that disables 4 cores. Today I found out that that is not the case and the phone can go as far the the rotating docs animation and it gets stuck there. The phone was running 8.1.0 (OPM3.171019.014, Feb 2018) so naturally I went a step up and flashed through the stock recovery this image
8.1.0 (OPM3.171019.016, Mar 2018). Nothing changed (except showing its updated in the recovery mode) and the phone is still rotating those 4 dots. How do I get this phone to work without wiping the data?

November security update

Received this in Singapore.
Very hesitant to restart now in view of the Oct update that boot looped my phone causing me to factory reset.
Anyone else received this and successfully updated?
Thanks.

No,never had problems until now.
Anyone who couldn't update from September to October can report if it's possible to go from September straight to November, and if it works without bootloop or resetting data?
Thanks.

Yes, my wife's phone. I had boot looped on October's update and reseted. My wife decided to skip Oct. Now she has received the Nov update and tried to update and got the boot loop. She has unlocked bootloader and critical partition. Restarted 7 or 8 times and managed to boot back to Sept. She is stuck now.

Same here. Looks like everyone has to get boot looped either on Oct or Nov update.
No problem with update October to November updater, always using charger and battery 100%.

If only my phone would boot with >October version at all, wiping or not.
Not even EDL flashing made it boot into October. I'll give November a try on the weekend, but I'm not hopeful.
Hopefully BF or CM has great deals on pixel 4a. Can't wait to ditch this dumpster fire of a phone.

I just tried September -> November and no dice.
Got the "Try again / Reset" screen. After choosing Try Again 6 or 7 times it switched back to other slot and booted into September after one more Try Again.
At least it looks like it'll work when I choose to reset, which is better than I had before, but I didn't want to do it now.
Im fully stock, not even gcam mod, but keep bootloader unlocked due to how this phone is prone to bootlooping between updates.

Noooo the dreaded bootloop is back?!
I thought they fixed the bootloop (caused by wrong update being offered) a long time ago! I am on November update and haven't had any issues for the past 9 months...
I think the problem is really in bootloader unlock. Maybe october update had a relock of bootloader ant that why we get bootloop.
I updated to november no boot loop this time, my phone has bootloader unlocked but still stock, with October it had the boot loop and I chose to full reset, I'm disappointed too, waiting a pixel 4a to replace it first and last xiaomi for me.
Wifi had become very unstable since October update. Battery last 1-2 h less, it had an issue with the charging port so I bought a Chinese replacement which only is useful for charging not for data, as soon I get a new original one (very expensive) I'll switch this to lineageOS and keep for experiments

Simeone had stolen my orignal data cable so I too bought a cheaper data cable as I was traveling and later come to know it wasn't working for data. Later bought Portronics Konnect L cable from Amazon.in around ₹109 or $1.50 and it's fast and has data transfer capabilities.
