Wiping userdata with app2sd

I'm trying to wipe out the userdata partition to remove all installed programs. I am running the Cyanogenmod 4.1.11.1 and want to upgrade to 4.1.99 but the wipe feature doesn't work from the recovery image. It keeps on aborting so I want to wipe the userdata partition manually from the console when you boot to the recovery mode.
Thanks

What recovery do you have? Did you already try to load the htc recovery image?

How to flash official ROM zip?

My friend's device has TWRP 2.8.7.7 and CyanogenMod 12.1 by @ED300 (not up to date).
She wants it to be restored in its original state. How could I flash this file?
Code:
http://phonedl.ota.lenovomm.com/dls/v6/Kraft-A6000_S058_151030_KK2L_WC67.zip
Should I just wipe system, data, and cache in TWRP then flash the zip from the link?
1. Reboot into recovery.
2. Wipe the normal way (Factory reset).
3. Flash the .zip.
4. Wipe cache and Dalvik cache after flashing, just in case.
5. Reboot. Enjoy!
Using TWRP? Don't I have to wipe system first when coming from another ROM? Thanks,
You have to wipe system, data, cache, dalvik cache
For me that didnt work you have to extract stockrom.zip then extract system.zip then take boot.img and flash it first, followed by system.zip and yourcountry.zip

Xiaomi Redmi 3S Lineage 28May Issue

Hello.
So i've flashed Lineage 28May Build and this automaticly encrypt my device ...
I've read on the internet that if the device is encrypted the flash process is a bit diferent.
I've read about wipe data cache dalvik and system
wipe data cache dalvik system and internal storage
And flash adb ...
So, now i tried to go to TWRP and it just apears Mi Logo!
Not booting into any recovery (Stock or TWRP)
I've installed Miui.eu and the recovery is ok
I flash Lineage and i can't boot into recovery anymore ...
What to do?
Issues :
1 - Can't boot into TWRP
2 - What process is to flash a new Lineage Rom? ( I want to decrypt my device to flash more easily)
I really need help ...
I don't know if my bootloader is unlocked or locked right now, because i flashed too many roms ...
Need help !

1)Try to reflash twrp from fastboot mode.(if you can't do this, then your bootloader is locked. And no matter how many roms you install, bootloader, once unlocked remains unlocked, untill you lock purposefully).
2)In twrp wipe cache, dalvik, and if necessary data for clean installation.
3) Once any custom ROM is installed, while in mi logo , you cannot directly boot to twrp. You have to go to fastboot and from there boot to twrp.
4) First install only ROM. Once it gets installed turn it on. Once it successfully turns on, then you can install gapps ( this is not always necessary to be followed)
5) formatting data completely will decrypt your device. Just goto format data and type "yes". You need not goto advanced wipe.

Cannot flash ROMs stuck in fastboot

I cannot flash ROMs, im following steps:
1. boot in TWRP
2. format data, reboot in TWRP
3. wipe (cache, system, vendor, internal storage)
4. install the latest firmware 11.0.4.0
5. install the ROM
6. reboot, but in fastboot mode and it does not allow to enter back to TWRP.
I flash vbmeta.img with PC and flash recovery TWRP 3.3.1-12.
I unlock bootloader in MIUI version 11.0.4.0, Android 10.

I've noticed that wiping system often ends up booting in fastboot on that device.
Wiping system is not necessary since that happens while flashing the ROM.
This is what I did to successfully boot other ROMs than MIUI:
1. boot in TWRP
2. format data, reboot in TWRP
3. wipe (cache, system, vendor, internal storage)
4. install the latest MIUI 11.0.4.0 full ROM
5. reboot in TWRP
6. wipe (cache, internal storage)
7. install the ROM
I always wipe cache/dalvik after installing ROM but I don't think it's necessary.

This is my first attempt to flash a custom rom in my life!
I have a POCO M3 as cavy and I am trying to flash crDroid.

Updating partition details...
...done
MTP Enabled
Formatting System using mke2fs...
mke2fs -t ext4 -b 4096 /dev/block/mapper/system
690300 process ended with ERROR: 1
Unable to wipe System.
Unable to wipe /System_root.
Trying to install crdroid console says:
Code:

What can I do? Please help me, the phone boots ever in TWRP and now is unusable
To install TWRP I executed those instructions:

Before installing rom in twrp, the system entry is never deleted, the Dalvik / Art Cache cache, Data, Cache is cleared, rom is installed and Data is formatted.
I am not understanding... just wiped Dalvik/ART Cache, Data, Cache withoud problems, but System still can not be wiped... I format Data too without problem... what I should do now?

Never lubricate the system!
It is clear that then there are problems.

You must first install firmware 11, preferably the latest version, for example POCO M3 EEA Stable Recovery V12.5.5.0.RJFEUXM. Move it to sdkard, go to TWRP and delete: 1.Dalvik / ART Cache 2. Data 3. Internal storage 4.Cache DO NOT DELETE OTHER! 5. Start the A11 firmware installation 6. FORMATTING after installation. 7. Restart I recommend installing the firmware for a better system installation.

Just installed "miui_CITRUSGlobal_V12.5.7.0.RJFMIXM_fa891a2765_11.0.zip" and it works again! Thank You!
But now I am afraid to install custom roms... My fear is that I lock it...

Excellent.
Remember, don't delete anything extra.
Ok, I tested a while and it seems that call recording does not work... this is why I would like to try some custom roms. My target is to have a working call recording without "audible announcing of record start". What should I do now to successfully install, for example, cdDroid?

Custom rom installation is done in the same way as firmware,
Clean Dalvik / Art Cache, Data Cache, Install Rom and Format Data.
ok, crDroid installed but it goes in boot loop... i think because juice version is not proper for citrus...
I will try other roms.... thank you very very much rotoko!!
