I have the AT&T LG V 35 (LM-V350AWM)
I have been unable to do the OTA successfully. I went round and round with LG support with no luck. They had me try to do the OTA via PC with an "authentic LG cable". I am on Android 8.0.0, V350AWM10f.
The phone says, "Downloading new software version. Please do not leave the Wi-Fi coverage area". When it downloads it then fails to update. It simply says "The software update could not be performed".
So.... I am wondering if anyone knows any way to "force" the update.
Anyone try this? It is Pie for the LG V35 ULM version.

Yes. This is only away to update outside USA. Use LG UP to update to Pie.

I have Verizon LG G2. Software version: VS98011A. I try to check OTA update by go to Settings -> About phone -> Software update, but it said that download unsuccessfully. Now I am not using Verizon network, I am using network from Vietnam. Is it required to use Verizon network when doing OTA update? Could someone please confirm that you can update without Verizon network?

Yes you need to be on the Verizon network, as they are the ones pushing the OTA out to you. It does not come directly from LG or anyone else, it can only really come over the air on the network the phone is meant for. Now you can always download a Rom of the 12b update and manually flash that, but then you are getting into rooting and custom recoveries as well.
Hi, I've got an unlocked LG G2, originally AT&t (D800 model), now being used with T-Mobile.
I've got a bit of an issue; I can't update the phone.
I had ordered it from Amazon (New), and it came with stock Android 4.4.2, but it is not the latest version, which has many new features, including Knock Code.
Now, I know for a fact that an OTA update won't work, seeing as it's not connected to AT&T's network, but I had assumed i could update it from my PC.
I was wrong; LG PC Suite says that it has the latest version, and that there is no update available.

Well, I went to the forum of AT&T's community to ask about Lollipop and they said it didn't came out yet... Anyways, they told me the only way is updating OTA... So I think you'll need to ask a friend to lend you his/her AT&T sim card.

I have a us996 unlock. Would like to ask why the use of lg bridge. Test whether the update is available. But the screen appears "can not check the softwear version". Then I then "lg support tool" shows us99610a is the latest version. Is this correct? . Us996 not on the lg bridge of the update?
Does anyone have "can not check the software version".

I do believe that because LG is not going to update the us996 to Oreo now a lot of themes being developed no longer work on this device any suggestions on where to go from here tried to unlock bootloader with no success......
Many have been successful in unlocking/rooting the US996, and there are a few discussions on XDA on how to do that.
My question is what the new date is for the Oreo update. I've heard mid-Nov and late-Nov. Does anyone know?

Kinda a bummer when you buy the US996 thinking that the "carrier unlocked" status would make it get updates from LG quicker than carriers update the phones.

Last I read some time ago oreo for the 996 was scheduled for sometime in December

Got the notice this morning......took 20f. It had a little more battery this evening than on Nougat. No SIM though; gotta swap devices in VZ account due to unlocked Note 3 using Micro SIM.
Good timing; was getting very frustrated with losing signal/sim on Note 3 custom roms. May camp out on the V20 for a while and see how it improves things.
I've been trying to get 20f on my (supposedly) unlocked US996 phone.
Originally tried downloading OTA, but got Invalid Software Package twice.
My wifi is capped at 30gb/mo(!), and it forces me to use wifi - no option to use LTE, and I have unlimited (22gb) of it.
So I decided to try LG Bridge.
It downloaded & started applying the update, only to say "Your phone cannot update". I tried it a few times. Same thing @ same spot.
Then I decided to try LGUP. See error here:

(I've downloaded the TWRP img for v20 linked, but the kdz file linked has a note: * - unlocked non-US Cellular)
Now I can't get into my phone. It just brings up the Firmware Update screen.
When I checked using fastboot, it says it is not unlocked. Is that because of the SIM card?
Is there anyway to restore the existing(?) 10n firmware? Can I flash anything (TWRP, etc) without it being unlocked? And if not, do I need to call US Cellular to get it unlocked?
I'm quite rusty with custom roms & the like. It's been awhile!

I was able to get 10n (what I had before this mishap) reinstalled with no errors, using LGUP.

Hi! There is no way to get official AT&T OTA out of USA and without AT&T sim card so the only way for you to go is to update your phone via LGUP and flashing US OPEN KDZ from here.
Does updating using this will not relock the phone to at&t network?

No. Once unlocked from AT&T it will stay unlocked.
LG is the best phone manufacturer when it comes to poor software support.
