Ar Core Working! (With Root and Magisk) Tested with Minecraft Earth -October 2019 - Xiaomi Mi A2 / 6X Guides, News, & Discussion

Honestly I'm not sure if this is allowed (sending others guides) but I simply followed 2 guides after I had installed ArCore, one was to check the status of my Cameras capabilities for Google API 2 and the other was a guide to change my phone to support API 2, basically the mi a2 DOES SUPPORT Google API but on my stock ROM this is NOT ENABLED, but after a quick tweak to a buildprop file using Terminal, and a simple restart, all features are WORKING nicely, this is tested on a modded version of Google Camera and the beta for Minecraft Earth. Happy Gaming I hope this works for you all as well
Please try Following these Easy guides

[HACK] Allo for Android bypass authentication and have a look around the app (arm64)

THIS DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO USE ALLO AS A SERVICE! IT USES DUMMY MESSAGES SO YOU CAN SEE WHAT THE APP IS LIKE!
USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK, GOOGLE MAY NOT LIKE IT
Allo for Android was leaked yesterday in APK form, as an internal early build release. When you launched the app on a compatible device, it shows a screen to authenticate via text, but the servers aren't actually sending out verification codes so you end up stuck in a loop.
I decompiled the app, and removed the method where the "Welcome" activity is launched, allowing the app to at least show the conversation screen, using Xposed. This could probably be achieved using Smali edits, but I haven't tried that.
I then tried to get the app to actually allow me to add users, but of course, as it was trying to connect via an account that was not authorised, that wouldn't work. So I took a different approach, and edited the database used by the app using Root Explorer + SQLite Editor to add dummy users, conversations and messages that way. I'll go into what I've worked out about the database in a later post, so you can trick your friends or something.
After that, I had pretty much full access to the offline features of the app (ie. those that didn't need a constant connection, messages still would not send), and could look around the app and its UI:
- Normal (1 to 1) conversations with other users
- Group conversations
- Incognito conversations
Stickers were working earlier on, but have since stopped loading. I can say however, that the default, included, stickers were not the only stickers available, as you could download two more packs. That was working around midday BST today but has since stopped, so either Google has blocked me or capped it entirely.
Anyway, below is some videos of the aforementioned features, as well as a couple of others.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aI-kXmzhLeo&feature=youtu.be
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4mUKRtr4kg
There's some things I didn't mention:
The app appears to link your number to your account, which may mean tablets work too as long as you have a phone
You can send voice messages (I didn't cover this in the video because I assumed it was a voice input rather than a voice message)
You can send videos
Tapping a 1 to 1 conversation's image on the list opens information about the user, allowing you to call and send a message
Sharing images from other apps works the same as other messaging clients
Want to try this yourself?
You'll need Xposed and Titanium Backup (free is fine) to do this:
Download the Xposed Module and Titanium Backup file from GitHub here
Install the Xposed module, activate it and reboot
Open the TiBkp file using Titanium Backup, and restore app and data
Run Allo (it's been renamed from Messaging to Allo now)
Look around, but remember nothing actually works
Next job is to see if I can get onto Duo in the same way, although that will allow even less than Allo.
Database DIY (Adding your own dummy users, messages and conversations)
can't wait to try it !
Great work! I featured this on the XDA Portal as this is the first hands-on of the app I could find!
Stickers are working again, so here's all the stickers dumped in GIF form: http://imgur.com/a/cMqI2
Great freaking work. Only on Android....
I posted an update on Duo, SMS, Hangouts and the module on Reddit here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/co...d_database_modifications_to_make_allo/d3c6dd9
Doesn't work on my s4 running cm13, when restoring with titanium, it says the app was not installed
"Unfortunately Allo Allo has stopped" on my Galaxy S6 with Xposed and the module activated
Hopefully Google will start the server soon.

Title.... arm64 only.
Tonight's update, same as Reddit:
What I've found out today:
- SMS and Hangouts, although hinted at in the code, cannot be enabled using Xposed at this time.
- I worked out how to make messages appear in the conversations using the database, YouTube video here
- Messages support text, images (GIF or normal), videos, stickers and YouTube links, with previews. YouTube links open in the app, not inline
- There appears to be a read receipt for messages, as well as sent ticks.
- As expected (it being an internal release), there's a lot of debug code in (but disabled by default, it's not a debug release) the app. AlloAllo enables it (see the video)
Xposed Module new APK
Massive document on how the database works and how to add your own stuff
Xposed Module Source
I'll do a proper writeup as a teardown tomorrow if I get the time, but Duo is pretty much a writeoff as it's pointless

ZTE Blade Z Max z982 possible FRP removal?????

I Came across an interesting YouTube video(actually 2 videos of the same phone) of a way to remove frp from a Google Nexus running Nougat 7.0/7.1.1 using Termux and terminal emulator along with Dirtycow and Gam6-7.1.1 apk files. The video itself is in Portuguese according to YouTube auto translate, but with careful study and pausing its pretty straight forward. Now the ZTE Blade Z max z982 is no Nexus for sure but being this is a tutorial using Termux apk and terminal emulator apk to remove Google frp 7.0-7.1.1. (Blade Z Max comes out of box with 7.1.1.) I figured I'd give it a shot after multiple attempts to access without any computer as the everyday device user has basic computer knowledge and relies on step by step video tutorial to work into their device. Now this does require having the Z982 bypass the setup wizard which I'm sure if you have been searching for a way back into your device after forgetting your email password or if you bought second hand (like myself) and the previous owner incorrectly reset the device before selling you probably already know this method. If not a simple YouTube search will turn up results as to how to do that. So with all necessary downloaded files I gave it a shot. Worked flawlessly even let me install GAM6.apk.Worked well up until the part where he hit the disable option on Google Account Manager (16:48 in video) 3 times and the icon changed to a sdcard icon and read "com.google.android.gsf.login". Now I think this guy is pretty clever with this method but I'm clueless as to how he was able to do exactly what he did at that point in the video. I am not sure if this has been fixed by a patch. I am patched at August 1 2017. Also it dosent clarify the chipset but am quite sure the Nexus runs Qualcomm and not MTK, as does the Blade. I translated the page to read a few comments and the main issue seemed to be the same issue I'm facing. I do know that "com.google.android.gsf.login" is the key step in the list of activities that GAM performs upon startup that is blocked until previous email and password are provided and permissions are granted to that particular activity. I was hoping that a more experienced member or user familiar with system level apps and privileges could make sense of what exactly he has done in the video as I am a intermediate user and I am still learning Android systems and using developer tools. If anyone has any knowledge with these core level apps and could possibly figure out a work around or contribute to what he has done with the Nexus phone I'm positive this would be very helpful to Z982 owners and Nougat users across all devices as I'm sure with this method the phone is 95% the of the way through a successful "no computer needed" bypass method. This is by no means a walk in the park for the everyday user and will require some knowledge and a bit of research to complete the tutorial for those who may come upon this post and decide to try. I do know of methods to bypass this issue but have dedicated my time and research to finding a handset method only as this would help many z982 owners immensely. This is intended for the rightful owners of this device and all devices applied who may have forgotten their gmail password or for those who purchased second hand or obtained legally and the previous owner incorrectly reset the device and can't be contacted. This is NOT intended for the use by thieves who obtain phones through deceptive measures. I do not condone any illegal activity and may karma find you when you least expect it for those who partake in such activities! The video is pretty lengthy not in English and be prepared to use the pause button numerous times unless your advanced and are familiar with Termux and terminal commands. Also using the Blade Z Max meant a few small steps had to be changed in order to get the files to copy to Termux. For this I suggest using the storage tab in settings/phone/used space/other and hit explore and find download folder which will allow you to copy gam6.apk and Dirtycow fIle(unzip first) into Termux. Hopefully we will find a solution to this problem for this device for those who have no or limited computer access or knowledge of flashing and firehose files and more advanced removal methods. I'll keep hunting and researching and will update upon discovery of a successful method. Links are posted below.
Edit: Being this is my first post and Im noob status I cannot offer links to the videos.

You should do your research more thoroughly before promoting methods. None of those files (except for the frp-bypass.apk) are rootjunky's, and the method isn't his either. I discovered the dirtycow method, and I released it for free on YouTube for everybody to use as they wish and the only thing I asked in return was the credit for finding it. This is just clear evidence that I should have branded the method and charged everybody instead.
Also please PM me the URL for both of the videos you found on YouTube in other languages, guarantee they're just reuploads of my content and I'd like to copyright strike them.
The post was meant to possibly spark ideas and gain input on a method that would cover all devices. All of us in the Android community thank you for your Discovery and contribution of the dirty cow method we really do.. But excuse and forgive me for coming across one person's video of your hijacked method before finding you or your original method first! I'm trying to help people out and if my failed attempt at trying to bypass what has now become a 6 months long frp project, generates and Sparks a new idea at attacking and approaching this issue, then it's progress logged! I can unlock and bypass it in less then 10 seconds and have dedicated my device and purposely hard reset it to try and find a way for the public who can't afford the tools I have at my disposal. The files I came across were all on this guy's YouTube. I'm passing along info not performing research for a 6th grade science project let alone tracking down the founder of the method being used. But now that I'm informed and armed with this new information I'll be sure to mention you any time I refer to the dirty cow method, anywhere in the online community. I'll gladly pm you the links.
Have to figured this out yet and found a solution for the ZTE?
Uniandroidtool can do it, it costs $50 but it's worth it. It can bypass FRP on many phones. I would do it for you but remote support is not currently available.

Well here ya guys go, a free bypass method! Even more startling, seems like it's discovered by a 10 year old..
Nice work kid!
By the way, just a heads up, the kid goes pretty fast, but he walks you thru all the steps so watch carefully.
I verified it works, good luck.

Method Failed
This failed for me. I can get the credentials moved over but when I go through the setup the lock is still there. I figured out that the credentials are copied over, a new user is being created in my case, and the original account is still there. . I can get to settings but I cannot enable developer move because is says I'm not the primary user. Maybe I missed a crucial step but I don't know what.

This
[]So I followed this guy's way the first time but I figured out my security patch was newer than his. So I did everything just like he did.
https://youtu.be/HF9GO8XOSGQ
Once I copied my account it kept sending me into a loop saying I still haven't verified and took me back to step one. So after so I factory reset wiped partition cash i connected wifi enabled copied account from other device went back to talk back went to talk back settings made the L gesture and paused feedback in menu then scrolled down to help on talk back settings and clicked first help topic clicked to play video then hut the clock button on the video bringing up chrome didn't sign in unchecked feedback then in the address bar I typed
https://latrelljennings.weebly.com/download-center.html
Scrolled down and downloaded the two files for ZTE and boom went through all the settings disabled administrators unchecking crap that could sync. I threw my sim card in unlocked device for any network restarted booted like normal updated phone using it now to type not using the launcher 3 app tho using Nova launcher.

[Tutorial] How to install and use Google ARCore on Xperia X

Update: with the release of version 1.5, calibration profiles for Xperia X are shipped within the app, so the only thing you need to do is download and install the most recent ARCore APK. Trying to download ARCore-enabled apps directly from the Play Store isn't possible yet (they still shows "your device is not compatible with this version") but since Google is already shipping profiles for Xperia X on current ARCore version, official support might appear at any moment! In the mean time you can still install ARCore-enabled apps through other sources like APK Mirror, they'll work just fine.
The original thread is archived below, for reference.
This guide will show you how to get ARCore installed and working on Xperia X despite this phone not being officially supported at the moment.
Requirements
• Xperia X or Xperia X dual SIM running at least Android 7.0 (tested only on stock firmware but should work with custom ROMs too).
• If your phone isn't rooted, you'll need access to a computer with ADB and the required drivers installed and working (I won't cover that part on this guide).
Instructions
• Go to APK Mirror then download and install the most recent ARCore APK available for the arm64-v8a architecture (it must be at least version 1.4, older versions won't work!).
• Now download and install any ARCore-enabled app (e.g. Measure, Just a Line, etc -- you must install at least one app before proceeding).
• Open any of the ARCore-enabled apps you've installed at least once. What will happen vary from app to app but you eventually get stuck in an error screen saying your device isn't compatible. Once you get there, close the app.
From there, you have two different routes to continue (don't do both, pick one or another):
If you have root access
• Use a root-enabled file explorer app of your preference and navigate to /data/data/com.google.ar.core/files/device_profile2_database.
• Locate the files device_profile_F8131_colon_7.textproto and device_profile_F8131_colon_8.textproto and rename them replacing the part highlighted in blue to F5121 (if your Xperia X is the dual SIM variant, rename the blue part to F5122 instead).
If you don't have root access
• Make sure USB Debugging is enabled on the Developer Settings of your phone.
• Connect your Xperia X to the computer, download the file attached on this thread, then open Command Prompt / Terminal and run the command adb restore ARCore_F51xx.ab
• If asked, allow debugging access on your phone, then a Backup/Restore prompt will appear. Confirm the restore operation on your phone.
And that's it, you finished. Open any ARCore-enabled app now and they'll just work without complaining your device isn't supported.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: It seems too easy. How/why it works?
A: With the release of ARCore 1.4, Google added official support for some 2016 Xperia devices such as Xperia X Performance and Xperia X Compact, but for unknown reasons, Xperia X was left out of the party. What we're doing here is simply tricking ARCore that the calibration profile made for Xperia X Performance is actually for the Xperia X instead.
Q: Why are you instructing people to use the calibration profile for Xperia X Performance instead of the profile for Xperia X Compact?
A: Because the Xperia X Performance is much more closer to the Xperia X than the Xperia X Compact if you consider the layout and the placement of the internal components. Remember that the X Performance is essentially an Xperia X with IP65/68 rating and Snapdragon 820 SoC instead of Snapdragon 650 (even some parts of both models are interchangeable!). That's important because it seems even the physical location of the accelerometer/gyroscope sensor inside the phone's body affect the accuracy of ARCore measurements, as I got worse results when using the calibration profile from Xperia X Compact. That's why I sticked to the profile made for Xperia X Performance.
Q: I can't find ARCore-enabled apps on the Play Store when searching from my phone / Play Store won't let me install ARCore-enabled apps because it thinks my device isn't compatible. Why?
A: The device checks on the Play Store are done on server-side, although this guide enable ARCore to run on Xperia X, it's still not supported officially. There's no way to bypass this check, so you need to download whatever ARCore-enabled app you want from other sources like APK Mirror, F-Droid, etc...
Good working .Thanks
Another phone
Hello,
Do you think something like this could work on a Chinese vivo next dual?
This phone is supported but only on devices that came with Google services preinstalled, unfortunately my phone didn't and I am getting the non supported device on Google play store even though the phone is supported
Thanks in advance!
Any news on an official release of this?
Both my kid's are wanting it now for FNAF AR and Minecraft Earth
Cheers
Current Google Play Services for AR (formely known as ARCore) still ships with calibration profiles for Xperia X, so, even though it isn't certified, you can still use ARCore-enabled apps as long as you sideload the APK. Regarding the phone being officially supported, forget it. Xperia X is already EOL since late 2018 and it's very very unlikely it'll get official support at this point.
Does it work for Android 8 oreo Xperia X F5122?

why developers are not focusing more in sailfishOS?

I was just wondering why sailfishOS has still really bad apps.
and why is not developers are doing more apps for this amazing OS?
just wondering
it's very simple: no market.
In general you make apps to earn money. perhaps you'll find some developer or group of developers that will port a popular app as a hobby, student project, or simply because they are using sailfish and want an specific app.
so basically, if there is no market, there is no money. therefore no apps
Actually I have just bought xperia 10 plus to move away from toxic android ecosystem (from google to all the app junk), after I have figured out that I could delete 90% of application on my android phone and I would never miss them.
If you are using sailfish phone, you have an option to run apks there is no real need for native applications. Quite frankly in last few years I could hardly find any application that was something that "I have to have". All the really needed applications were added to the first smartphones: email, gps, browser, sms, mms, calls, video player, music player, camera, contacts, text editor, sound recording... and I am already stretching it with last two, I cant remember when I have last time wrote high volume of text on those tiny useless on screen keyboard or had a need to record some sound.
There is one app on android which I will need (access to online banking) and I hope it will work, it didnt work even on my previous android until I have reversed it and change some code to stop verifying for root and safetynet, so it should work here too.
Everything else is... more a toy than useful or actually some security application to prevent all others doing something that you don't want, from rolling ads to stealing data. I am waiting for this mobile application market to slowly collapse, there is no more value in it except maybe games. Everything else is just wasting time in the least constructive way.
And not having market is a huge bonus, if you check sailfish apps (jolla store and openrepos) you will find that you have everything you need for having a great phone, made by enthusiasts not people that want to become rich. And no one is making useless junk as, as valthunder said, there is no market. And this is fine. Actually great.

Great to read about your decision!
For banking apps that require Google Services you could try to tweak your Sailfish Alien Dalvik with Signature Spoofing and a GServices replacement like MicroG.
The SafetyNet replacement here is the DroidGuard Helper that should be installed alongside GmsCore.

Naah, I am having my own "cracked" apk build from previous phone, I have removed all checks to root and safetynet and it works fine, no need to change it. Since the app is just front end for web interface it works since forever, I have also removed version matching with server. Took a day or two but worth it
But I have one question: I am trying to integrate xposed framework (last version as there si no boot/recovery img to try with magisk) into system.img (8.1). And same goes for su. Is there any "official" way how to do it without unpacking system.img, adding binaries, repacking it...

Following all things sfos quite closely i did not witness anyone get xposed framework to work. (at least no public report) That might be due to sfos users generally are not Android wizards. The matter might still be a low hanging fruit to anyone with deeper knowledge
Whenever rooting/xposed/su is brought up, much more competent guys then me hint at Alien Dalvik just being an AOSP tailored to run inside LXC on non android kernel plus filesystem integration, Intents integration, shared clipboard etc.
quoting my friend olf:
"Jolla uses many modern measures to confine the Android container: at LXC level, with cgroups, firewall rules, SElinux policies etc.
You may configure additional measures at all these levels, it is just a Linux machine and you are the administrator!"
So maybe what you want to achieve practically is even possible using a whole set of different tools then available in Android?
And yes, my vague explanation hinting at me being a simple user having no clue and just putting things together from forum posts is a correct observation

Where to get good, free & no ads camera app for Fire HD 8 (2020) kids edition?

Hi guys, could you suggest good, free and no-ads camera app for Fire HD 8 (2020) kids edition? Ideally, Google camera (GCam) should work fine, but I tried a few apks (found on internet) and nothing got installed.
Third party cam apps are working fine but I don't really like 'em (tried a few "best rated" or "promoted").
And we do have an issue with built-in camera app: bed outdated UI, and we're unable to get to "Photos" from cam app, it's always asking for enabling parent control (regardless is set or not).
So, to better summarize my question: is there a working GCam apk for this tablet? If you have one, please upload it here. Thanks!
First read Here
Then search Here for the APK that suits for Fire Tablet
PS: All of the APK's work, you just need to find the correct APK that suits the Architecture and the Screen DPI.
Pretty useless answer. If you can't recommend any, better to skip question.
Firstly, if you read my provided links, you'll see i did recommend a Application(Google Camera).
Secondly, the reason i explained how to get the necesary APK, is because you said " Ideally, Google camera (GCam) should work fine, but I tried a few apks (found on internet) and nothing got installed." so i was merely trying to help you out with finding the correct APK for your Device.
Try this one, it's suitable for Android 9+

Anyway i hope this helps you out sensboston
@ComputerTech312, first, it looks like "Google Camera" app doesn't work on Fire HD 8 Kids Edition at all; and version you've provided can't be even installed.
Second, I already resolved issue (BTW, check when I asked and you replied ) by using free, open source "Open Camera" app: this is a correct answer to my question, this app is demonstrating most closest approach to the "Google Camera" (no ads, "funky-junky" UI inventios, photos (i.e. DCAM folder) is accessible right from the camera app - i.e. exactly what I and my 6 y.o daughter wanted).
Alright, well i'm glad you found something that suits your needs
