LineageOS build differences - Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Questions & Answers

Hello,
As listed here there is 11 different rom dev for LineageOS on Lavender. As i have seen letsmakecak & AmulyaX ones seem to be under active dev but i have no idea about the differences between them (except dev/adaptation stage) and which choice. Any help or advise ?
(i hope this isn't a dumb question)
P.S : thx to all members of XDAdev for your work :3

Use Amulayax. Far more stable. Better trees. Letsmakecakes is also good but he does not share his trees, which is not good for the community.

Wholeheartedly agree, this is the developer that you should support.

Is there any battery performance difference between them? Because so far on letsmakecake's LOS I hardly get 8h SOT, mainly because the idle battery drain is 5% per 10-12h... I miss MIUIs great battery performance

I would say no, no big battery difference.

Test Build of OmniRom for i9300

Hi Guys,
I just found out that @Rebellos has shared initial test build of OmniRom for our beloved S3 (i9300). Just thought of sharing with you.
Currently Bluetooth, GPS and FM does not works. I am downloading now. Will update thread with screenshots after installing.

Sounds sweet, but no official support for i9300? Then I'm not interested.

Come on!! The project just started! Just give it some time!
Rebellos is working on the i9300 and it will be officially supported! (I believe)

For the first time using an AOSP based ROM, I could see Cell Standby consuming the longest state in battery details. The battery graph was pretty flat over night. The ROM feels minimalist and light on resources. The split window feature is nice, need some tweaks to make it perfect though (rotate the window to top when it is taking keyboard input to ensure the contents are seen). Overall, I would love OmniROM to remain light and clean with only those features that truly add value.
From i9300 perspective, we have most (if not all) the major developers involved in the OmniROM project, I can expect only awesomeness to come out
Is multi window working on this build ?

Someone should compile build with https://gerrit.omnirom.org/#/c/53/

Nexus S F2FS

Hi,
I just wanted to know that if anyone working on implementing f2fs into Nexus S device.
It could extend this unit life until 2015...
Regards.
Are you saying that my Nexus S will die before 2015 without F2FS?
This can improve performance on our device but sadly on our development forum we don't have anymore active rom and kernel devs to do that

It makes the read/write a bit faster than ext4 (as per my understanding), but so far it's not widely adopted and requires both ROM and kernel support.. This is the main hurdle for our device as development is dwindling..

We could beg Legolas from the nexus 7 forum to add the nexus s to his f2fs rom converter. His app supports nexus 4, 5 and 7.

It is still early. Give the devs some time. They are working on Aosp. We will get many of them soon. Once the bump tool will be avalible(thanks to team Code fire for that) development will shift up. Nexus 6 will have too many aosp however too big for my taste.

there are 10 or so currently being tested .... basically once the green light comes up for the roms to be published we will get a lot of them and hopefully in a short space of time but they are coming

You should've also seen that we've pretty much only just had the bootloader "bumped" and we've gotta wait until the devs of that let us know how to "bump" a custom kernel. Until then we can only flash stock based roms with the stock kernel, so there's no real chance of anything aosp happening (that isn't tethered, anyway) until then

It seems like there is no developer who is interested in this phone. I am waiting for Lollipop.

Are you cursed? Kinda. That oem is terrible for development. Even when they release the kernel source, it is broken so many roms have issues. They do it in purpose to get you to use miui. Had you asked any developer they would have told you to stay away from them.
Cyanogenmod 11S based on android 4.4.4 for Redmi 2
This is the best ROM I've tried for Redmi 2 so far. I tried MIUI and crDroid before this one. It's the first time my device's been so responsive, fast and smooth.
I would love to post it as a thread, but I can't. (new user :/)

AOSP ROM for Oneplus 2?

Hey guys I'm looking for an AOSP-based ROM, but not Exodus. I genuinely enjoy Exodus, but it updates too frequently, I want something with a "stable" branch, something that won't update daily, and preferably fairly minimal. And please don't give me that "you don't have to update" line.
You really don't have to update ?
Sent from my ONE A2001 using XDA-Developers mobile app
You don't, I do. kind of OCD about that. Anyway, that was specifically not a viable answer, as determined by the constraints of the posed question, so please do not.

Yes luck seems not to be what we are having sadly. The onyl real reason I would prefer it though is Layers. I can't think of any other noticeable differences.
Maybe you should focus on treating your OCD. You really do not need to flash.
That costs hundreds of dollars, and it is rather mild, with only specific things that seem to affect it, mostly technology-related.

I'm looking at it, but their G+ is terribly laid out and I can't find any main website for them, so I'll ask you. Are the FP and LAF working? And where can I find install instructions?
EDIT: I installed it, it ran like a trick, but the security menu crashed settings invariably, and as such I couldn't set any form of lock on my phone, which is a MAJOR issue.

When security settings crash that is 100% caused by flashing the wrong modem/firmware flash the other one (of the 2 available) one of them WILL work FP and LAF are FULLY FUNCTIONAL

Nah, I'm more looking for something like GentleUI from Cyanogen. Nice pastel colors, with unique indicators for the Wi-Fi and signal (it used the moon for a wifi indicator, how awesome was that?).
