Android Q / 10 - Can't set Screen Lock PIN or Pattern??? - Essential Phone Questions & Answers

Hello All -
I updated tonight to the Android Q 10 - Q Release 1.5 - QP1A.190711.122 by sideloading the OTA and then rooting with Magisk canary. Everything worked beautifully except now when I go to set my screen lock PIN and fingerprints there is no option to set a PIN or pattern. Anyone else have this issue? Any advice how to fix it?
See attached screenshot when I go into security settings the only options available are None and Swipe.

I did some troubleshooting and reflashed the OTA sideload update to stock and the screen lock settings all returned to normal. The I rooted again with Magisk canary and after flashed the patched boot image with fastboot the same issue returned.
How do I report this to the Magisk dev team?

I found a workaround for now.... I reflashed the stock boot image. Set my PIN passcode and then flashed the patched boot image from Magisk.
Now the PIN is enabled but if I go back to the settings to change the screen lock the only two options again are the "None" and "Swipe"... very wierd but definitely repeatable issue.

Does noone else have this issue? This is still not working for me...

Lockscreen Security Settings

Anyone else here has the same problem as me? For some reason I could not change my Lockscreen Security setting. I could only select None and Swipe options. I wanted to add pin lock but it does not apply. It would always revert back to None or Swipe lockscreen. I've tried both Audax ROM and MultiX ROM I even reverted back to Stock Kernel hoping to address the problem but it is still not working.
Anyone? I couldn't seem to make it work...
Disable any xposed lock screen module

Stock ROM?
Did you manage to solve the issue? I have the exact same problem than you.
Before audax I was using Cyanogenmod and the password lock screen was working.

OnePlus Two Keeps Crashing

Hi, I have a OnePlus Two which reboots to the second bootanimation when ever I try to uninstall a app. Also when I go to security in settings the settings app crash's too.
I was on oxygen OS with the same issue so I decided to clean install recrunstruction remix ROM on my phone which I did, still with the same issue. Also I had this issue in both of the Roms where as I set a password it woint let me (when I set a pin on my phone it asked me to confirm the pin which I did and it woint let me press the confirm button) I believe that this issue might had happened maybe when I fixed my bricked phone first aid kit, and after that I started to get the problem. I have thread on that too that you can visit with this link "http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/help/bricked-1-2-help-please-t3326037" So please help me and thanks.
Never Mind, I Solved The Problem By Flashing The Stock OTA

N Preview 4 booting into an unlocked desktop even after setting up Secure Startup

Well, I configured my 6P with the fingerprint/pin combo at startup and was using it like that...
I then disabled any security, and that meant wiping off my fingerprints.
I then tried to set everything up again, that means fingerprint+PIN. It set up correctly, I even set up to ask for PIN each time I reboot the device... This is where it gets weird.
When I booted up for thr first time, and went through Imprint+PIN setup, whenever I'd restart the phone, it would greet me with the secure startup screen , asking for my PIN in order to continue starting up the device. It would then boot me to my lockscreen. Where I'd have to input my PIN/fingerprint in order to unlock to desktop.
Now that I re-set it up, it will ask me for my PIN before booting up, but now it won't boot me to my lockscreen, but directly to desktop.
If I disable asking for PIN at boot, I get booted to lockscreen.
How can I restore functionality? Is this normal?
Since this is an Android N Dev Preview regarding issue, you should report it to Google if at all. Dev Preview is not meant to be used as a daily driver and some bugs should be expected to experience.

But it was working accordingly on N. I bet it's an issue even on MM.

I do not think this issue is affecting MM.
Anyway, was the security working before on Dev Preview 4? Or it worked on previous Dev Previews and on the 4th it's not?

fingerprint unlock not working anymore?? HELP

Hey!
today I noticed something very weird on my OnePlus 5 (64GB)
somehow unlocking the phone with the fingerprint scanner isn't working anymore!
it always says that I have to use my code, like when you unlock it the first time after powering on!
the hardware is working, fingerprint scan works for example fine with my banking app and the option is still available in the settings menu!
Android 7.1.1
security patch 1st september 2017
francokernel 4.4.21
xxx nolimits rom 4.2 based on oos 4.5.14
rooted with magisk
xposed framework v88.2 installed
I did not make any changes to the phone, it simply stopped working!
I have already removed the security unlock and added new fingerprint scans, it did not work...
can anybody help me?
Are you using Greenify? If so, make sure "Alternative Screen Off mode" is enabled in Settings.

Just restart your phone and all works fine again...
If your fingerprint unlock still doesn't work I would try stock OOS instead of xXx No Limits and see if you still have the issue. I found that ROM extremely buggy both times I tried to run it and the other stock based ROM I tried (Freedom) really wasn't much better.
okey I fixed it by wiping cache and dalvik
thanks for your answers

Password and decryption issue

For starters, ive been using the same lockscreen pin on ALL of my devices for the past3 years, I know im using the right one. I recently installed the Evolution ROM and set it up with fingerprint and PIN. Fingerprint was working just fine, I rebooted the phone after installing a magisk module and now its telling me the pin for the lockscreen and TWRP is wrong. Again, I only use ONE pin and its telling me its wrong. Tried deleting the locksettings.db file to take off the screen lock and that worked but now phone just stays on "Phone is starting" and TWRP is still excrypted but lets me see all of my files, correct storage amount, and install zips.
When you installed did you format data?
I know this says Lineage, but it works for most custom ROMs, post #2 has the cliff notes version: [Guide]Installing Lineage
As for the locksettings.db, this isn't like older Android devices. You can't just do that, it doesn't fix the problem here.
