How do i root my Mi 9T Global Version? - Redmi K20 / Xiaomi Mi 9T Questions & Answers

Hey Guys,
Today I tried to root my new MI 9T. Since my phone is not the Pro version I had problems to find a guide.
I then found a guide and there as described the boot loader opened and then tried via Fastboot to flash on TWRP.
I get no error message so I thought everything would be successful. I then tried the mobile with "fastboot boot recovery.img" to restart.
From there I was stuck in the bootloop. I was able to successfully save the Mi 9T by editing the complete system with MiFlash.
The phone is back to normal, but the bootloader is still open. Can someone please give me a description of how I can root the phone successfully?
I would like to use Magisk so it would be nice if someone could help me flash recovery and root the phone without flashing the OS again. (Softbrick)

Hello
It's nice if you already opened/unlocked the bootloader of the phone.
You got a bootloop after flashing TWRP, it generally means you flashed an incompatible TWRP for your MIUI version/phone model.
Download "Latest stable" Magisk version => https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/download/v19.3/Magisk-v19.3.zip
Copy this "zip" file on the root of your phone.
See this topic to check and download TWRP => https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-9t/how-to/twrp-versions-xiaomi-mi-9t-t3955946
After flashing a correct TWRP image => "fastboot flash recovery <twrp_file_name>.img", don't do "fastboot boot recovery.img" but instead do:
Keep pressing "Vol+" button on your phone and write "fastboot reboot", wait until TWRP is launched before releasing "Vol+".
Use your PIN/Password code used for unlock your phone to decrypt data => always keep system "read-only" => Install => Flash "Magisk-v19.3.img" => Reboot.
Voilà!

Boot into TWRP. Goto Advanced --> Disable DM-Verify. Reboot device. Done.
now i installed the supersu but when i reboot the phone it always boots to TWRP i think because i flashed
fastboot flash boot twrp.img (yes i am a idiot)
if i want to boot the system what should i do?

As far as I read this thread you forgot to turn off the DM-Verify option in TWRP after install and rebooted immediately.....
Hate to break it to you but your currently installed OS is now pretty much dead now. Had the same issue when I first tried it.
You need to install a clean MIUI ROM first via fastboot and MIFlash-Tool. Then proceed to install TWRP again. When TWRP is booted the first time it will ask your permission to Modify the System. Swipe to confirm that (needed for most operations TWRP is able to do).
After you allow the system modify part, you are in TWRPs main menu. Tap on "Advanced", then tap on "Disable DM-Verify". Once again swipe to confirm.
After that, you should be able to have TWRP on your device and should be able to boot normally to MIUI... or you go straight ahead and flash a new Custom Rom.
thank you.
So i will need to download a new rom (any suggestion on which one is good? i did install twrp because my vendor rom didn't work with local 3g and LTE) and install it with the miui flash tool. Than repeat the twrp installation but disable dm-verify first, (than reinstall super su?),and at the end reboot.
No need to clear anything?
i flashed the global stable rom from the xiaomi flash tool it say successful and took just a second but i am stuck still on mi logo....
Is your phone unlocked?
In fastboot fastboot oem device-info
i unlocked it just one day before with permission message from xiaomi.
Next time used cofface twrp for redmi 3S: http://en.miui.com/thread-244098-1-1.html
Sent from my Redmi 3S using Tapatalk
Ez. Go to fastboot mode, flash again the whole ROM and flash your TWRP again. Don't forget to disable DM-verify. It stuck at logo not because of you forgot to root your device, is because of you forget to disable DM-verify.

Need help, bricked my 3s

Was supposed to flash CM13 Rom. I did a full wipe including system via TWRP.
Before flashing I decided to reboot into recovery, but it didn't. Only gets stuck in the MI logo now. Can't boot into recovery anymore.
I can go into Fastboot mode. Tried flashing twrp via ADB but whenever i type 'adb devices' in command prompt it says device is offline.
Tried to enter EDL via ADB in fastboot mode, it gets stuck at 'waiting for device'.
When plugged in PC, it gets detected as USB ADB interface
Bootloader was unlocked prior, was on xioami.eu ROM before this. I have TWRP system backup of last ROM installed.
Hoping someone can point me in the right direction on what to do next. Very much appreciated, thank you.
Hi Supdow,
I was facing with the same issue and I also thought I bricked my phone... No worries. To solve it is very easy, just unlock your bootloader again with Mi UnlockTool. Than you have access to your recovery again.
Good luck!

Was able to unlock bootloader again, but I still can't access recovery. I may have forgotten how to exactly do this since the last time I did it. What do i have to do after unlocking bootloader? I tried flashing TWRP via fastboot but it only gives me an error.
So you have a few options
1. Hold volume+ & - and power (if you have twrp)
2. Take fedosis twrp 3.1 and installer, put twrp 3.1 into extracted installer folder, then shift+right click on installer folder, open cmd, then type
fastboot flash recovery twrp_name.img
fastboot boot twrp_name.img (or do step 1)
3. Just flash dev/stable with miflash (recommendation: go into fastboot, then like step 2 go into cmd and type fastboot oem edl then flash mi rom)
Hope this helps

Stuck in Fastboot

Hi all!
I have tryed to flash Android Q on my Redmi Note 7 (Global) everything seemed to go smooth till i rebooted and the deviced got stuck in fastboot mode, i tryed to flash TWRP, it goes OKAY but if i reboot i cant access recovery anyway.
I also tryed to use "fastboot boot recovery.img", it does send the image but fails to boot into recovery saying "failed to load/authenticate boot image..."
Am i doing something wrong? How can i solve this?
I thought of MiFlash Tool, but there are many version and some seems not to work properly can anyone provide a working link?
(Ofc, my bootloader is unlocked etc)
Thanks a lot
After you flash TWRP you can't access via command, because MIUI will re-write the recovery again once you restart, first flash the TWRP (fastboot flash recovery the-name-of-the-file.img) after that you must reboot to recovery manually by holding together "Volume Up + Power" until you see the MI logo, release "Power" button but keep pressing "Volume Up" until you see the recovery, after you are in TWRP, (mount the internal storage (Data) or if you already copied OrangeFox Recovery Zip to device) then just flash OrangeFox R10_2, it will reboot itself after that to the recovery again and that's all, you will have a custom recovery ready.
Now, if you already tried to flash the ROM and everything went wrong, I guess your device is bricked, now you need a FASTBOOT ROM for your device (if it's complete global = PFGMIXM / because there's global europe too, that's PFGEUXM) and the MiFlashTool, unzip the Fastboot ROM, open the MiFlashTool, load the ROM Folder in the tool while the phone is connected to the PC, and then just flash it, steps with images are in Xiaomi site, here's the link Fasboot Method
ps: the tool have below one option to flash and re-lock the bootloader, it will be selected by default, leave it like that if you want to re-lock it, or change it to clean all to leave it unlock it

You have a smart phone! Don't want to accept redmi note 7 pro (violet) rom to be flashed to note 7 (lavender) phone.
Try to find here miui rom for your phone: https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/

root xiaomi mi 9T

Hi everybody
I come back on my concern to root my Xiaomi Mi 9T under miui 11.0.3.
I managed to root it by installing the magiskmanager.zip by the recovery twrp.
Here are the manips that I made via fastboot.
-Fastboot devices
-fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
I restart in the recovery manually because doing fastboot reboot recovey twrp.img it does not work.
So I install magiskmanager.zip
All is well for the moment I am rooted at startup.
May the worry is that the recovery does not stay when I restart in recovery mode I fall on the original one.
So suddenly I redo everything from the beginning and in magiskmanager I do the direct installation (recommended) and I download the app twrp on the playstore.
I download the twrp that offers and the flash via the application twrp and there surprise I restart recovery twrp mode.
Bizarre all these manipulations before it was much simpler.
Tell me if I made mistakes during my manips.
Sorry about the novel ...
Thanks for reading me
Use instructions from thread "root without twrp". Did that a few days ago and there was not a single issue. You can flash twrp (I used official) at the beginning via fastboot and you good to go.
Making long story short:
Unlock bootloader, flash twrp, flash ROM, install magisk manager, flash boot.img use magisk manager to patch boot and you got it

can't install twrp recovery on Xiaomi mi 9 t

Hi guys, i'm trying to install the twrp recovery and next magisk on mi mi 9 t but i'm stuck: i followed a lots of guides but when i try to flash the .img it returns "cannot load twrp.img".
I also used a tool "Flash_TWRP.bat" but it turned my phone in softbrick.
I also used xiaomitoolv2, but not works.
I also followed a thread where it says to flash a modified vbmeta but powershell not recognizes the command --disable-verity--
I need some help, i would really appreciate it.
The bootloader is unlocked, and has passed the right twrp?
