Samsung Branded Hard Case for the Note 10+ - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Accessories

I just received my silver hard case today. It was part of my $150.00 in accessories offer.
It is a really nice case. It is as thin or even a little thinner that the Spigen Hybrid Clear I bought waiting on this.
The stands fell a little flimsy and don't know if they would stand up to repeated use. They work best in landscape. They ridges on the back feel good in the hand and are good for using one hand.
This is my first name brand case and overall i like it. Don't know if i would pay retail for it though.
It is really tight around the edges. I have a Whitestone cover on the way and wonder it will work with this. Any on try it yet?

Can you post a pic?

I've been using this variety of case since the Note 8. Wasn't sure if I was going to like the revised version for the Note 10+. My worries have been unfounded for the most part. The case is protective and not obtrusively bulky. The kickstands work well without getting in the way of everyday handling. It's a nice mid range protection rating case for sure. I would probably step up to something a bit tougher for outdoor use (deep forest exploring, fishing, etc) but like it as an everyday driver. I got mine in black to match my phone.
This is the case:

all ive used are the samsung military/rugged cases since i got on the note train with the note 8. no regrets.

[Q] Casing for Nexus 4

I was watching a lot of reviews about this phone.
TheVerge review:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=herJmqIGOoM at 2:25, he says that it is a glass phone and he dropped the phone
from his kitched table.
And the back of the phone, near the camera got a crack.
I am buying this phone and also planning to buy a protective casing?
Do you have any recommendations? What kind of casing I should go with.
I have zero knowledge about this.
A TPU case is the one to go with in this case.

I want something that looks cool and avaliable in Canada. I understand the cases will be avalible
few weeks after the release of the phone but any good companies.
Are any of you planning to go with a casing. I dont want to buy a case at all but the review scares me
I sold iPhone cases for awhile. It's going to come down to taste for more people than not, but if you want the most protection, the Griffin Survivor, the Lifeproof case and the Otterbox Defender were what I'd recommend (assuming all of those are made for the N4; the Otterbox will certainly be, but can't say for sure about the others). Another extremely protective option that isn't discussed much for whatever reason are cases that are also wallets; they tend to have a lot of padding, and at least then you've got something that serves double duty. Not all of them are well made of course, but some are. I have no idea who'll be making wallet cases for the Nexus 4, though; you'll have to just wait on that.
If you want something slimmer but still protective, the Speck CandyShell is a solid option; it has both rubber for shock absorption and hard plastic for stability & feel. And I'd guess it (or one of their similar products) will be made available for the Nexus 4, since they made a version of their (IMO quite handsome) Pixelskin HD for the Galaxy Nexus.

Case Recommendations

Well, I ordered the Nexus 4 last week and have been lurking all over these forums since then. I need some help with picking a case. I have narrowed my choices down to the three very different ones listed below this paragraph. As you can see they all offer different pros and cons (at least to me). I'm trying to decide if function (keeping the phone from shattering) is more important than aesthetics (showing off that beauty and sleekness). Since I just dropped $350 for this device, I have been leaning heavily towards the former. I'm definitely open to other suggestions and I'm willing to spend up to $50. These are just the three that caught my eye.
Poetic Borderline Bumper Yellow- $10
The Good: Minimal bulk, I like the stylish yellow, low price, shows off the back
The Bad: Poor user reviews but Poetic claim it's been resolved, while it does have minimal bulk since it is just a bumper that means less protection, the poor reviews state that it falls apart in days or weeks. I know I should be weary but I love the look of the yellow on black with full view of the back.
Ringke Fusion - $16
The Good: Covers the back but still shows it off, low price, not much bulk, better protection than just a bumper
The Bad: I haven't been able to find many reviews. Reports that the clear back having that "wet" look.
Seidio Active with Kickstand - $35
The Good: the best protection out of these cases listed, has a kick stand (which I miss from my HTC EVO days), comes in many colors, I have one now for my Nexus S 4G and it's protected it well even though I'm not a huge fan of the bulk.
The Bad: Somewhat expensive, really bulky compared to the other two above, sort of ugly, the kickstand is cool but it does add some bulk. Reports of the wireless charging not working with it on (this isn't isn't an issue yet since I don't have a Qi but I plan to someday)
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance to all who have read this.

That's actually the one my wife was planning to get. I like the protection it gives but hate the bulk. I might also consider that one. I assume you have it? How much bigger/bulky does it make it feel?

From the three and you mentioned you wanted for protection, then Seidio is the way to go. I have always bought Active cases for my tablets and phones except this one. I haven't a need for that yet. I have had it for my past Sensation, Kindle Fire, and now Nexus 7. It's my daily case for my N7, but for the Sensation, it was my travel case.
In the later months, I opted for the "hybrid tpu" case for the Sensation which exposed the back, much like the Fusion. I am getting the Fusion now and getting a holster from Seidio to fit.
Bottom line, for travel and good protection, I'd go Active. Middle of the road would be the Fusion. I preface that by saying I have yet to receive my Fusion yet so take that with a grain of salt for now.
The hybrid case biggest fault are the feel of the buttons. Not wet. I believe the wet look come from those using screen protectors in the back.

Thanks everyone for the recommendations. I think I am going to go with the Seidio Active. I got my phone last Friday but I'm still patiently waiting for my SIM Card to come in from T-Mo...it's killing me! I'm just glad I can use wifi on it at least...

Why didn't you just cut it yourself? Easy to do and no waiting time and of course it's for free
For those who have the Seidio active case and want to use their wireless charger? The issue is the metal kickstand which may or may not work with the Orb but I would not use it on my charging mat. I have the surface with metal kickstand. I bought the Acase superleggera pro case for $15 and it is similar to the seidio active and it works fine with my charging mat. I missed the holster so I asked a buddy (who has the active combo) to let me see if the Acase fit in the seidio active holster and guess what? It fits! It's a tiny bit tighter on the sides but still slides in and out pretty easily and the spring loaded clip works fine.
For those in this situation you may just want to spring for the case for 15 if you wirelessly charge.
http://www.amazon.com/Acase-Superle...58&sr=8-1&keywords=acase+superleggera+nexus+4
Which of these cases do you prefer? I've been considering both. Wireless charging is not an issue for me and will be carrying in my pocket
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda app-developers app
Just to be clear I have the surface which is less bulky than the active and the superleggera is closer to the active.
That said I would say the seido has a slight edge in quality however when you factor in the price, the superleggera is a better value!
The surface case is slimmer, still offers good protection and had a good grip. If you do not intend to charge wirelessly it is what I recommend.
You can get the best price on android central and put "save 15" in the coupon box to save 15%

Who's going naked? :D

Just got my S8+ and it will never see a case or screen protector. I can't ruin the feel of my phone like that. The way it was designed is so you could enjoy it for what it is surely. Plus it's big enough as it is.
Who else is going naked?
Well i personally never use screenprotectors so i won't be using one on my s8+ too.
When it comes to cases and what not... i prefer not to use it and mostly dont, but my new job require to store my phone in a small closet (space just for the phone) that ahs this hard unfriendly to glass bottom, so i have started to put on case just for that and take it off when i leave work and go home...
I just love the ''naked'' phone feeling in hand.
I did order a dbrand skin for my back so ima gonna try that since it is supposed to be almost like a naked phone but still protected back from scratches.
You guys are crazy, one scratch and it's an eye sore for me. Got my s8+ in a spigen neo hybrid since day 1 and got screen protector coming today.

Indeed. It feels great in the hand. I do know if I drop it I will probably cry. Lol.
Dropped my S7 Edge on the pavement for the first time in more than a year the other day and nearly had a stroke. Still, no case!
I was strongly opposed to cases as i want to enjoy the design. I feel that especially with the S8+ you loose the design but the feel in hand when you fire on a case.
However you need to set the phone down & usually its on a hard surface (Table, Desk etc) so in this instance a case gives you that piece of mind. I do & will go naked on occasion as I'm one that appreciates the design & to never ever take your phone out then you be craaazy......as its a great design and your only limiting your joy.....?

I've had 3 of the Ultimate Shield protectors on my S7 Edge, and they always start peeling after a while. Plus it gives the phone a rubbery feel and has an orange peel effect which detracts from the gorgeous display.
Too much faffing about so I won't bother. Plus you have to be really careless to scratch the gorilla glass 5.
At the risk of creating yet another case/non case thread (see under accessories thread) Samsung do a great slim / clear back (rather than case) which still exposes its glorious looks whilst providing some protection from the odd spill....its a slippy beast and one fall without protection could mangle it.

I always go naked. Have never used a phone case of any kind and never will.
If I worked in an office or some indoor job I would probably go screen protector only. But I work Construction and if I go naked the phone would be destroyed in a day lol
I never use cases or screen protectors. They completely ruin the look and feel of the phone.
I buy a new flagship every year, and haven't used either for the last 8 or 10 years.
Went naked for a day couldn't risk it, and put a wet screen protector. Scratches and microscratches are annoying. If they figured out a way in the future to polish the screens for sure using something for micros-cratches!

It's cool till the first time you drop your phone. Then you've got the rest of the time you have payments on it to regret not blowing 12 bucks on a slim clear TPU case. But hey if you like to live on the edge!
Ice dropped a phone only once, and it didn't sustain damage (Nexus 6P). That said, I just can't bear the thought of it happening and my phone looking like this :

i never got a new phone and walk out the store without a case, typically an otterbox, but since this time its delivered to my home i pre ordered cases (yes with an s) as well just to be sure.
when i finally got the phone i really really want to just go naked
but i'm too scared to mess it up
Been running no case no screen protector since Day 1 (April 21)
Will go with some slim fit case. This phone is very slippy in hand.
Good luck with that:

S8+ Back

Samsung made such a beautiful phone; almost as nice as the note 7 IMO, and they focus so much on a nice screen but then they make a very very thin back glass that seems to crack way to easy. In my opinion they need to ditch the back glass and make it aluminum or something of that nature. I have had my s8+ for less than a week and today i was testing out my vr and i set down the head set kind of hard onto my couch where my remote was. It was no more than a 6 inch drop and the back glass ended up cracking. I am the least bit thrilled about it. Opinions?
Grab a dbrand.com skin and apply it on the back. You'll totally forget the glass is cracked
Is Dbrands the best out there? and why? I see there are a ton of different kinds so im curiour

Doesn't have the spen, so....
Check your local samsung store, last time i checked for the S7E the price to switch back glass was $50. Who knows if its the same price on the S8.
The note 7 was by far the greatest phone i have ever used. Do not get me wrong, the S8+ is amazing and is probably the best phone out ATM but the note 7 was my favorite phone i have ever used due to a variety of reasons
Yeah there was something about the Note 7 that's missing.
Probably the fingerprint reader being on the back for starters.
And the glass back is to stay for wireless charging.
Would you rather a plastic back? Eww!
This is coming tomorrow!

Nice choice I was going to purchase that but instead I have something very similar coming from China. Expecting it anyday as its landed in the UK Friday.
Always nice to have a thin sleek case that you can still feel the quality of the phones design.
I have it and it's a great case. Definitely not going to protect the front in a front down fall on concrete. That's what the Speck Presidio grip is for! When I'm not trail riding, trimming trees, etc. this case is perfect. Feels naked with a nice grip. And unlike the slim TPUs it doesn't feel like it's falling off when your fingers go past the curved edges of the screen. I think this is why Diztronic recalled theirs.

Which clear cases are y'all using? Any affordable durable ones?

Was bummed that my go to spigen liquid crystal is pretty awful for this phone (the sides are mad flimsy). Trying to find some that are crystal clear on the back yet offer decent drop protection all around. Seems like reviews are saying the otterbox one is the best... but man $50 ain't nothing. I'd still pick it up if I can't find any others that are comparable for cheaper.
I do like the supcase one for previous phones, but I just wish the sides weren't black.
I bought this one. It looks much nicer on my phone than I was expecting. Its back is very clear / transparent.

Pretty much his same setup and rationale. A good value. An extra, it's also mil-spec rated.
Otterbox Symmetry Clear is my first choice, but not cheap at $49. Ringke Fusion is my second choice and very affordable at $9.99. Both cases have a crystal clear back so the true nature of the Aura Glow will show. Otterbox is slightly thicker and firmer all the way around.Great bumper protection.
Ringke is slimmer and more flexible. Good bumper protection.

I Love UAG cases... But, this case will not work with the wireless powershare features. I also wanted to retain the Aura Glow feature and it's completely blocked with this case. So for me, it's a no go. But if those things I mentioned aren't a deal break for you, then you'll have a very solid case. This case is not flexible and it feels nice and sturdy. Great case overall except for the 2 reasons that personally don't work for me.

A lot less than the $60 price tag at Best buy also.
Edit: sorry. Got in a hurry and saw the original post was looking for "clear". However, the clear Insignia case from Best buy is good also. Very similar to speck and very grippy
Tech 21 Pure clear....great case, not bulky, great drop protection. Only gripe is that it has that slight frost look and not 100% clear. This case never yellowed on my note 9, no rainbow or water spot effects. My experience with the otterbox symmetry clear case wasnt quite as good. Overall fitment was good, back was nice and clear but it scratches rather easily and did get yellow on me after a few m ok months(happened with my s8 edge, note 8 and note 9. I skipped it this year but have read it still scratches easy.
