OnePlus OxygenOS on mi 9t ? - Redmi K20 / Xiaomi Mi 9T Questions & Answers

I don't know anything about developing roms. The only thing i can do is to flash them . It might sound like a stupid question but, is it possible for developers to make an oxygen OS based rom for the mi9t.

I've seen OOS port for another Xiaomi phone, but 9T/K20 never.
If you find let me know.

Yes it is. Good luck in bugging a dev to do that, however.

Best change to get it, is installing the GSI version.
Even the sGSI from Poco F1 is compatible, but they all have bugs.
Last time I installed it (op 7 pro port), fingerprint didn't work, don't remember the other bugs, but it was unusable.

Stock not stable

after miui i bought this **** called as stock android but except camera, everything is buggy....I think everyone is searching for custom rom, do u know any serious developer who working on custom rom in mia1??
my stock mia1 is stable and working just fine.. and NOT EVERYONE is searching for a custom rom.. it seems only you're the one who's looking for it ??
CMIIW
This phone on oreo is buggy as hell, battery drain fast, apps crash too often and sound from headphones/spesker is unlistenable. Nougat was much better. Yes, working custom rom would be awesome, but xiaomi hasn't released sources for oreo, only for nougat. So there won't be many custom roms until thay do. You need to know that there is a big 8.2.1 official update rolling outthis month which will (we hope) fix most of this problems.
Sent from my Xiaomi Mi A1 using XDA Labs
Nobody will release a custom rom now, because the sources are for nougat. Then when android 9.0 releases, xiaomi will drop 8.0 sources, and then won't be custom roms either because 9.0 is the latest android. and so on... xD.
I'm only waiting for custom kernels at least.

Now you're just over exaggerating stuffs. I'm still getting 6-8 hours of SOT, apps doesn't crash at all and apart from the hissing sound, the sound is actually pretty nice. Lineage OS is already booting and left wth minor bugs. Just wait for it if you can't stand with current buggy stock rom.
Yeahhhhhhhh another thread. Such a productive thread.
We should make more threads like this.

Why no official custom ROMs

Hi guys,
I have question about the custom roms for k20 (mi 9t) there is lots of roms for k20 pro (mi 9t pro) but why our k20 developing slowly, no official rom like pixel experience, aosp extended, dotOS, etc..
Sorry for bad english and someone explain me about this situation.
Thank you.
There will not be too many teams working on our smartphone. It is the only possible answer. Official groups create roms for the k20 pro and small groups and single people porting the rom for us.
K20 pro is more attractive for make roms.
because to get official status e.g. with LineageOS it has to be fully opensource and have no major bugs and fulfil some other requirements too. Majority of the ROMs here are using MIUI vendor image, not custom aosp, which is the main issue. And even the ROMs that are fully AOSP are not maintained up to the required standards. It requires a lot of additional effort and the devs would need to accept certain aspects they do not want to accept or don't have the capacity to do so. I wouldn't expect official custom ROM anytime soon, maybe 6 months from now once Android 10 ROMs would become somewhat stable and the vendor image will be perfected to the point it won't cause random battery drains, popup camera, display flickering etc. problems.

The guys said it all.
1, our device isn't too popular, K20Pro is the one most got.
2nd Xiaomi isn't 100% opensource.

Best Rom for 8 pro

Friends, recently i bought new One plus 8 pro. It is 1 year old. I mean released version. So i will get max. 1 year more Big upgrade.(Android12) & 1 Security update. It is not a big deal for me. That's why i need long term supported alternative Rom, such as Custom rom. My phone will be In2020 china version. I need all possible functions on rom.(stable) i will no root, cause i need baking app too. So should i stick witch China(Hos) Oneplus or go for better stable rom. Can you prefer me a good stable custom rom(less bug) for long term oTa support? & how to get back to official rom with bootloader relock?(if anything goes wrong)
I know, a lot of questions. I m doing for future proof for 4-5 years. Thank you in advance.

You can put oos on your device if it has hhydrogen os.
all custom roms have different features and customizations.
I suggest you go to the telegram channels and talk to the people there.
but if you want short answer then go for havoc rom . 4.4 version is very stable.
no rom is perfect so you’ll see what bugs there are from the group .

I believe in pixel experience rom you can lock boot loader. Talk to the dev about that .
all chats go on telegram. Find the group and join and ask away.

A doubt about Custom Roms.

Hi guys,
I am currently using an iPhone 12 as my primary device and looking for an secondary device.
Before iPhone 12, I was using OnePlus 5T and I used to play around by flashing different Custom ROMs since it had a good community support.
Now looking to buy Poco M3 as my secondary device. The only thing I want from a Custom ROM is pure android with no noticeable bugs.
How is the Custom ROM support for Poco M3? Are the ROMs stable enough to use it as daily driver? If yes, Which is the most Stable ROM as of now.
My decision to buy Poco M3 will be purely based on Custom ROMs availability since I will flash it in the day 1 itself. If no stable ROM is available, I am looking to buy Moto G40 Fusion.
And I can see a lot of threads mentioning Phone Dead/Bricked issues. Does that happen only with official MIUI or custom ROMS also?
Can you guys help me out. Thanks in advance.

well, you are talking about a great phone with good screen and awesome speakers, i am also a poco m3 user so, i might be the best to give you the right answer,
let's begin if you want vanilla android try pixel experience rom but it's unofficial for our device, so i would recommend you dot os official rom, it's fast and beautiful
remember, before flashing any rom read the guide carefully, cause many rom including dot os require you to have certain version of miui to be able to flash bug free.
best of luck.

Newbie's query about upgrading to MIUI 13

Hello! I want to ask you a question, I have a Xiaomi MI 9T, it is my first Xiaomi. It stayed on MIUI 12.1.4 with Android 11, I don't think it will be updated anymore and my question is what do you recommend? Is there any modified ROM with MIUI 13 and Android 12? Because I like MIUI and I don't want to leave it. Thanks a lot!

Hello friend, of course and I share that it is always better to have the original ROM on the cell phone, the problem is when the cell phone stops receiving updates, in my case it is almost a fact that I will not receive Android 12 or MIUI 13, so I would like to try a modified ROM that works on my 9T and is based on Android 12 with MIUI 13. I don't know if I'm explaining myself well, the English language is very difficult for me. Thanks a lot.

As long as Xiaomi does not provide a rom in 12/13 you will not have a rom in MIUI.(because EU roms or ONEOS roms are based on chinese roms).
Only an AOSP rom will allow you to upgrade to a higher android version.
