Ubuntu for TabS5e...download always failed!!! - Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e Questions & Answers

Hi all,
new to Tab S5e.
Tried to download ubuntu from linuxondex.com without success, always fails.
Any other source of ubuntu for TabS5e?

Just downloaded from linuxondex.com yesterday and everything is good!
If you got any error while downloading the image on Tablet
You can try to download on a computer and copy the image file to the tablet!

[Q] ROM Not Installing Correctly on HTC Aria

I have rooted my HTC Aria which is currently running 2.1. I also have ClockWorkMod Recovery v2.5.0.1 and the liberated_aria_FR008_signed.zip ROM for attn1. But when I try to install the ROM is looks as if it is starting to install but then when it says installing or something like that it jumps back to the Recovery menu screen and does not seem as if it has installed it completely. So I have tried this couple times and have rebooted through recovery and it just starts up as a restored version of 2.1 that was originally on my phone. Not sure what I am doing wrong. It seems as if everyone does this with such ease. Please help.

Number 1 mistake is booting into ClockworkMod with the USB cable connected. Disconnect the USB cable before you boot into ClockworkMod to flash the new ROM.

I have done that. USB was not attached to phone when booted into ClockworkMod. I just don't know why the ROM is not installing correctly. Anything else you can tell I may have done wrong?

You should make sure that you have a good download of the ROM by comparing the MD5 checksum of the zip file on your SD card with the MD5 checksum on the download page.

Did you download the ROM file to a PC and then copy it to the SD card? If so then here is a Windows version of md5sum that you can run and generate the MD5 checksum. Then compare that with the MD5 value this is on the download page. If the values don't match, then try downloading the ROM file again.
If you downloaded directly to the SD card, then you can make a "adb shell" connection and run the md5sum program on the phone to check the zip file.

Then it looks like Google will be your friend. I'm sure the Mac can generate MD5 checksums in some manner.
Anyway, so did you download to the Mac first and then copy it to the SD card or did you download it directly to the SD card?

downloaded to the Mac first and then .zipped it because my downloader auto-unzips files. then i dragged onto my SD card. Then unplugged USB and then booted into ClockWork Recovery. Did the restore and empty cache steps and attempted to install the Liberated ROM. It seems like it is installing but never seems to say complete. so then i reboot and it still goes to 2.1
i boot into recovery mode then i restore to factory settings, then i empty devlk cache which seems to not even run but just shoot back to the menu when i hit "YES". Then I go to install the ROM but it doesn't seem to be installing completely

As it is installing, what is it displaying on the bottom of the screen?
Try downloading from your phone browser. It may be the whole, unzip /rezip process that's fuxing it up.

It says:
"Finding update package"
"Opening update package"
"Installing update..."
But it does all that really fast and then just goes back to the ClockWorkMod menu screen. Then I try and reboot and it is still 2.1

You are selecting the "choose zip from sdcard" in ClockworkMod, right?

Thank you so much!!! That was it! I downloaded the .zip file straight from my phone's browser to my SD Card and installed via recovery mode and it worked perfectly. Now running 2.2 perfectly.
You are a genius to walk me through that.

[Q] HELP!IMy phone won't install my os!

So here's what happened:Today my nexus just turned off and it wouldn't go past the google logo.I had cyanogen mod 10.2 installed.I googled my problem and i found a guy(can't remember the site)who said he had the same problem so i should just wipe everything and flash the zip again and everything will be fine.So i wiped everything and i proceded to flash the zip but it says "error unable to open zip".Now i don't have an os installed Help me please!I'm really scared that i broke my phone!
Is the zip corrupted? Try adb pushing a new rom and flashing that.
If that's not working flash the stock images: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010312

Nexus 7

Hi guys!
Today my nexus 7 (wifi) got bootloop with the newest aokp rom. And the problem is that how i dont have any custom rom in my tablet what i can install from cwm. I can boot to bootloader and i can boot to cwm but i cant put roms what can i do now??
Thanks!
I'd say download a Rom to fit, unzip and grab the md5 tar file And flash it In odin if That's possible on A nexus. Just Happened to come across this searching for something else. Lol

I wasn't sure. Samsung may be the only device that uses an Odin program. I have a bricked Pantech that I can't find a program to flash any files with. I'd say just start searching the threads Typing different descriptions of your problem. Surely someone has had the same issue. If you have CWM Recovery, I'd say it's highly possible to use the side load option with ADB installed on a Windows 7 computer to flash the Rom you need. I've never done it but I know it's possible. I've successfully installed ADB/Fastboot on my laptop but I'm just now getting familiar with the commands and how to push files to a device. Hope i helped.

If u have the same problem what i had u should do this what i did:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1902016
U HAVE TO USE THE DRIVERS WHATS IN THE DESCRIPTION!!! I think this is easier than the fastboot it tooked me 20 minutes and now everything good, and if u want to put 4.4.x rom u have to upgrade ur cwm its important because if u wont upgrade it will say status 7 problem!

Frustrating TWRP Issue

Hey, so today I wanted to install a new ROM on my SM-N900 Note 3. I flashed TWRP, and rebooted. Then I booted into TWRP and opened Android File transfer on my Mac. It kept saying please connect USB device. Other parts of the system do not read the device, however TWRP says the device is charging from my Mac's USB port. I moved to my Windows computer and connected the device. Still nothing. I tried multiple USB cables both 2.0 and 3.0. Nothing works! Can someone help me? I have no OS installed! I don't want to use ODIN or download mode because I would prefer to the install the ROM I'm trying to install because it seems silly that I have recovery access but can't access the file transfer.
Thanks, Justin
No SD Card?

I've used ODIN before but I had thought was incompatible with zips. I'll try it today though. And no, I don't have an SD card. I'm trying to move the files into my internal storage.
Thanks, Justin.
MTP doesn't work with TWRP. You'll have to use adb and push the zip to your internal storage. Then flash it through TWRP.
There are many guides on how to do this, it is very simple. Good luck
Edit- i see you're using a mac, not sure if adb works on there.. never tried myself.. always installed linux on any apple product i've owned
I haven't researched it so it might work straight away, but if not just create a vm with xp, ubuntu or something and use adb through there

That's strange, I'm pretty sure my old Nexus 7 could do this. Oh well.
Code:
adb devices
does not work. It doesn't show the device in recovery. File transfer and ADB only work while the OS is booted up.

There's a button in TWRP called disable MTP or enable MTP. It has no effect. I cannot find any sign of a ADB button.

Nope. Not working. Started ADB sideload from TWRP and tried to push in a random zip from my computer (about 2 mb). it said error: device not found.

Someone can clarify this?
