Going the get my device in a few days will post a short review about the call quality.

Received my unit today.
Call quality is great as compared to my old devices.
It's better than Oneplus 7 too.
Earpiece volume feels natural and voices are more audible than other devices I used.

I've used the phone for over 3 days now. Call quality is quite brilliant, however at the beginning, calls used to randomly drop. Could be a carrier issue, also before setting up the device YouTube would just randomly shut off

Any updates?

Have been using this phone past 20days and the call quality has been excellent. No drops at all even when signal is low. I am on Airtel india network and volte works fine. Impressed!

Anyone facing low call volume? both on earpiece and speaker?

Yes, but as system is non RW even after root we need an magisk module to fix it.
One option, tested and ok, bit to low still, edit .aml.sh to get it bit better: https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...gisk-stereo-speaker-headphone-volume-t3931406

I am getting so frustrated with this phone. In the middle of a conversation the other person will hang up on me because they can't hear me because I keep pressing hold/mute by accident and the call goes silent and the other person hangs up. It does this over and over. Is it the proximity sensor or something weird like that? It shouldn't do that while I'm on a call and then not to mention that my phone accidentally butt dialed 5 different people...things got weird. Considering exchanging the phone for something different unless anyone knows how to fix this. Thanks.

Perfectly fine volume. Specially on vowifi

Very low volume here... It's mostly inaudible when there is some noise around

For you or the other person

So I received my 7T last Wednesday. I activated it on Google Fi account and basically used that as my daily driver. I was so impressed with the call quality I have since moved over my Verizon service over to the phone from my Pixel 3 XL. Last year I was impressed with the Pixels camera but other then that the last several years have just been a blah time for phones. This phone I actually enjoy.

The call quality is great on this phone. My only gripe is that the phones volume seems too loud. I wish I can turn it down.

I can agree here.. Very good quality
audio is good but I am not sure about the reception. I had an incoming call from a landline number and every time the person on the other end was quite the audio was like on mute, no background noises no static nothing. When the person starts to talk everything back to normal. Not sure why it happened but happened only once out of 3 calls from the same number,
has anyone noticed that when talking over 4G there's a HD icon on the phone app? When this appears the call is of higher quality

Same here. When phone is in horizontal position, i.e. on table, speaker is unusable, other side can't understand me. Probably back mic gets muted and confuses software with audio processing. Stock headphones are also unusable for calls. In normal mode calls are pretty decent. I'm on TA-1012.
Edit: A few words
Very good audio!
It has a really good microphone but if you want to unleash the real quality then I recommend tuning onto VoLTE and VoWifi. If your wireless network is decent you'll expirience far better calls quality.
People on the other side keep complaining about audio cutting out fom time to time. Any way to fix this?
Yepp, when You say nothing in call there is a audio cut off.
General Audio processing in voice notes , calls , video recording is not so good as in my xperia z5 compact.
The sony produces much better audio

Hi guys,
Just got my OP6 yesterday. It's really a beast.
I'm coming from iPhone 7. The microphone it's a little bit better than on iPhone 7, but on my endpoint, the sound that i get on earpiece speaker has somehow less quality. It's kind of bottomed and fuzzy. The volume it's perfect. I am using max-2 positions.
I even tested my colleagues Nexux5 and it's earpiece speaker it's somehow better.
Has anyone encountered this issue? It's a common thing or just my unit?
Please release an update that makes the sound from earpiece speaker much clear.
Thanks,
Andrei Musat
Tested on T-Mobile USA, call quality excellent.
OnePlus 6 does VoLTE and VoWiFi (IMS Wi-Fi Calling), and it uses EVS codec for HD Voice where supported.

On metro PCS and same thing. HD voice is incredible. As is VoWIFI. The Earpiece could get louder, but I'm coming from a Moto x pure 2015 with dual stereo speakers that got plenty loud.
Eh...
It's a different story on my end.
The call quality is incredible when I am speaking to someone on another cell... Landline calls however, are not up to par. They are quite low on the volume. My device's in call volume is at max, and yet I hear the other caller as if the volume was only on a level of 4/10 or 5/10. This issue is the same result, regardless of who I speak to... Unless they are also on a cellphone. Is this is bug, glitch, etc? How can I fix this? Can I fix this?

For me the call quality is an unbelievable improvement over the OP5. I was constantly having calls disconnect, or people could only get my voicemail. Clarity is so good and people can hear me way better than when I used the OP5
Dealing with the issue where people frequently ask me to speak louder or that they can barely hear me. Seems to occur regardless of OOS/LOS/xxx ROMs.

I think the call quality is okey, i wasn't blown out with it. I think my HTC U11+ is louder though not by much. I don't know why the manufacturers put a cap on the volume strength when clearly you can go beyond and still it will be safe. Leave it to the consumer to decide.
No VOLTE
So I've spoken with tech support with both Asus, T-Mobile, over the phone and in store. The end result was that the Asus ROG phone does have the capability to support VOLTE calls, but the software is not enabled, nor able to be enabled to make it work. So it's not a T-Mobile or AT&T issue, it's an Asus issue. Worse still Asus knows its an issue and has no plans to release an update to get it working. So calls basically sound like they did back in the late 90's which isn't good for those of you who weren't born yet. Any help on this issue from the Dev's here would be a huge help. I'm going to try rooting the phone and see if that will allow me to force the option to be allowed to turn on in the secret settings menu after punching in the code on the dialer. Currently if the code is punched in on the dialer the option to turn on VOLTE is there but isn't able to be enabled. Hoping rooting fixes this. If not the phone is going back. It is a phone after all.

Hello, i have really big problems with this phone when is about talking to it, i was write on Asus forum details about this issue, i'm on the 3rd replaced rog phone in 5 days, all of them have the same problem: quality is horrible, the person i talk with barely can hear me, then is hearing some weird noises and total silence. This is happening with each call, random times, can happen from start of conversation or seconds later or minutes later.
Hope it's ok if i drop the link here:

If anyone had any similar issues please let me know. I talked with someone from local Asus and they are aware of this problem, but the problem is that i can't get a replacement everyday until i'm lucky enough to get a functional phone, wasting my time on my own money after paid $900+ for this phone... i like it how it feels in hand & it's specs but can't use it as a phone atm to talk at it.
PS: sorry for my typo & eng skills

I believe this is a software issue and not hardware. I hope they fix in next update.
I read on ThreeUK's site the below as much as I want this phone I may hold off as the call needs some quaility.
4G Super-Voice doesn't work on other non-Three devices yet however, even if the manufacturer has stated that it's VoLTE compatible. We're working on this, so be sure to check back for updates.

I am having similar issues. It takes 10-15 attempts for me to dial out (if I ever do), and if it connects the person either cannot hear me at all, barely hear me, or I cut in and out. I've RMAd it twice now and they are unable to recreate the issue. There was some thought around a theory that the noise canceling mics might be not working properly, but I'll need to do more testing. The fact that you (and a couple other people I've seen around the net) have had the same issue with MULTIPLE phones makes me think there is a software and/or hardware defect. At this point I am leaning towards just getting a different phone.

They are very aware of this, i changed 4 phones in 2 weeks and each one of them does the same thing. I decided to keep the 4th one with hope that they will fix this asap, but problem still persist.
Check my thread on the ASUS forum.
My personal experience with this phone has been very good. Call quality is excellent, although I have only tested regular voice calls and whatsapp calls. On either one, the reception has been flawless, even on say, hard to reach locations. I have inevitably compared the call reception with my Nokia 8 and they are both incredibly good. Nokia has always been superior on call reception and call quality, and the ROG really makes up for it. No stuttering, no call drops, really good.

I concur.
I just spoke to my brother driving through the snow storm in north dakota on his way home, call quality was solid. Heard him loud and clear, no background noise, never had to say "what?" , and thats a long distance call where he's in white out conditions. (plus I'm with bell and he's on rogers but probably connected to a US carrier ATM)
ROG phone has never dropped a call or had any audio connection issues so far. I definitely get VoLTE on certain calls, but not many. I think it depends on carrier, the actual phone that you are calling, and even whether they are on another network or not. at least for my canadian carrier.
overall, I'd say definitely solid and reliable in my own 3+ months with this phone.

I'm experiencing the same problem. The microphone gets "muted" in the beginning of every call. After about 5-7 seconds of talking, it gets activated and the other person can finally hear me. It's extremely frustrating.
Apart from that, the call quality and reception is excellent.
In my case call quality is crap. But it is me who can not hear properly. It is due to lack of VoLTE I think. 2 people connected via 3G and both on BT headset = call quality disaster. Pixel 3XL on volte no problem at all

Poor
Medium. Not bad, but not good either. Let's say 5 out of 10.
Surprisingly good enough.
Great. More than expected. No complaints from anyone till now and calls are crisp for me as earpiece isnof high quality.
It is fine. What service you use also matters. Like voip vs using signals from cell tower. Voip is going to be better. Same goes for whatsapp.
Calling fails......
This is the worst thing that is happening in samsung phone . when you call someone it takes about 10sec to take you to the calling screen and after that it sometimes takes 10 more sec to ring. This thing bugs me the whole time. I give 1 out of 10 rating for this call quality. If you have read the above replies , then let me clearly say that iam not the owner of samsung but i request him to make the quality better. If anyone face this problem please reply so that the company makes quick actions against this problem.
Is there any roms that have video calling added? Thanks in advance

The call quality on the oneplus 7 pro has been very good and actually does better at holding a signal in weak areas than my HTC U11 did.
The call quality is grate but there is more crackling in called when calling someone on att from the TMobile usage oneplus 7 pro. Could be that the att phone has a week signal. Just wish battery was better other then that the phone on TMobile is wonderful
Call ne
I also notice some cracking in the sound while having a regular call. That cracking was not there with my OnePlus 2, same carrier and SIM card.
Call quality is fantastic.
When switching from Bluetooth to phone, a weird little delay that I didn't have on the 5t.
I'm a bit confused by the call quality. I'm calling OnePlus users, Pocophone users, Huawei and Xiaomi Mi 9 users.
When calling them while they drive and have it connected to the car, everything is okay. They are all loud and clear.
When calling "normal", I can easily hear the Pocophone user as well as the Huawei user. If there's a call by a Oneplus 6, it's almost too quiet. Xiaomi Mi 9 is almost silent, it's a pain to understand the caller even with maximum volume.
The Xiaomi users are reporting a bit of crackling sound from time to time when I'm speaking, for the rest it's a very great quality.
When I have low signal (around -105db), I still find that the phone connects and the conversation isn't dropped, chopped, or grainy. Bluetooth calling doesn't have much of a delay either from car or headset, so overall pretty pleased.
The earpiece volume seems very low on mine even though turned up fully
I can hear people very well, and people on the other end can hear me extremely well. Girlfriend says she has to turn down the volume a couple notches specifically when I call her with this phone because my voice comes through so loud and clear.
sometimes when I'm trying to do a phone call , they can hear my voice but I can't hear them, it also happens that the tune sound simply doesn't sound, it seems like the phone is mute... so I have to hang down the call and repeat, and then it works sometimes I had to restart the OnePlus 7 pro... it seems like being a software issue and I hope somebody can fix this soon because it is very annoying

I can hear people crystal clear and i've been told that they can hear me pretty well but sometimes muffled when outside. I have xperience issues with the call volume when using bluetooth headphones, max volume doesn't seem to be very high but i will take clear call quality over i higher volume.
