Briked LG G6 - LG G6 Questions and Answers

Hello,
Already 1 week i tryto unlock my lg g6 again.
I would like install stock rom and for that i have lock again the bootloader.
This is a stupid action, now i can't do anything.
I cant reverte with unlock.bin
fastboot flash unlock unlock.bin
Sending 'unlock' (1 KB) OKAY [ 0.040s]
Writing 'unlock' FAILED (remote: 'oem unlock is not allowed')
Anyone can help me please ?
Thank you.

Are you able to boot into the phone? It's refusing because the oem unlock option is not ticked in developer options.
If you can't boot your phone, download the stock ROM for your model and flash it with the LG Flash tool
https://lgflash.com/download/
Boot into download mode by holding the vol up key with the phone plugged into your computer to start the download mode.
Hope this helps.

I can see on lock try LG flash to with out succes.
I can boot in download mode.
But the device is lock in developpement option.

[Q] Continuous Reboot after OEM Unlocking

Hi Folks,
I'm kinda stuck here. Spent the lst 2 hours googling for a possible solution but no luck.
I've tried to OEM Unlock my OP2 to flash TWRP. When I typed fastboot oem unlock in cmd command, my phone started to reboot itself every 1 second.
I've installing the corect drivers using SDK Tools.
Please help as I'm not sure what else I can do.
Did you ticked under dev options allow oem unlock? Try to flash latest stock rom and then unlock.

I did turn on OEM Unlock as well as USB Debugging. I've tried to unlock the bootloader using the app on this thread as well as via cmd command. In both scenarios the phone goes into continuos reboot cycle (every 1 sec). I'm able to boot into fastboot (it says Fastboot on the screen) by pressing and holding the power+volume up button.
I've tried flashing twrp or stock room with no success. Every time i try to flash something it says:
C:\Android>fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
< waiting for device >
target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
sending 'recovery' (28144 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.808s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: device is locked. Cannot flash images)
finished. total time: 0.836s
C:\Android>
Any advise would be greatly appreciated!
Got it working again by using the following commands while in fastboot mode:
"fastboot continue"

Need HELP about unbricking U Ultra :(

Need some help if someone can do that
- I have oem unlocked my b/l with unlock code, install twrp, try some polished rom but i don't like it and try to go back to oem locked state to flash an RUU file through ADB...
When i go to download/fastboot mode and type a "fastboot oem lock" command i have a message
"C:\adb>fastboot oem lock
...
(bootloader) [KillSwitch] : /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/frp
(bootloader) [KillSwitch] Last Byte is 0X01, enable unlock
OKAY [ 0.028s]
finished. total time: 0.029s"
to my PC and on my phone i have a question "Yes to OEM lock and hard reset or No to live..."
I point to Yes and when confirm that my phone rebooted to a loop rebooting and blinking display with HTC logo and red words text...
Whatever i try to do it's always blinking/rebooting
Is there any way to normallise my phone and turn to any normal state?!
TNX
I moved out from previous state!!!
What a luck!
Dont know how but pressed VolUp+VolDown+Power and gone to bootloader state. After that have to unlock b/l again and after that when gone to Recovery, my TWRP is still there what a sweetness....
When enter to TWRP just some quick tex "Decrypting phone" and immediately rebooting to a normal state with all working phone states!
Is there any way to lock b/l again, turn to OEM state and to do a normal/regular HTC updating???
My last HTC update was 1.64.401.10 and European version...
Any advice?
TNX
Flash stock recovery: https://forum.xda-developers.com/u-ultra/development/unlocked-model-stock-recovery-t3585622 and you should be able to lock your bootloader successfully.
Never update with a third-party recovery. After you are done updating, install custom recovery again.
Ok.
I didn't know that
Tnx

[HELP] Bricked LG G6 US997, Need help

Hey everyone, I just bricked my LG G6. I was trying to use Uppercut and LGUP to flash a stock firmware, but it wouldn't detect my phone, so i followed this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70446385&postcount=70
Once I did that and restarted my phone, it got stuck in bootloop and it will display this: "Your device has failed routine safety check and will not boot."
Right now, I can only access fastboot and download mode, but download mode doesn't stick and my PC doesn't detect the phone in download mode, only Fastboot. I can't enter recovery.
Please help guys I don't want my phone to be scrap metal
P.S.: Was running LineageOS prior to bootloop.
Have you tried flashing anything from fastboot?
If you phone has bootloader unlocked then flash twrp via fastboot. If not contact LG for a service

Also wiping misc is a very bad idea

No I did not. Should I? I bricked my HTC One once doing this and I remember locking bootloader would make things harder to fix for me.
Sometimes getting the phone detected in download mode can be tricky, often you will have to play around with different usb cables and / or computers.
I would try flashing TWRP in fastboot. See if you can get into TWRP, then you can try flashing a rom.

I don't really have lots of USB cables or computers at my disposal though.. Do I just keep trying until it works, and even if so, how do I know when the phone is detected in download mode?
I also found out that even though I can enter fastboot, my bootloader is somehow locked again, and I can't flash the unlock bin so I can't even get a custom recovery to be flashed on there. Any other ideas or is my phone dead for good?
New update:
- I entered fastboot and tried flashing TWRP but bootloader is locked. Tried to flash unlock bin but i get this:
target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
sending 'unlock' (1 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.039s]
writing 'unlock'...
(bootloader) Error!!
(bootloader) Bootloader Unlock key write fail
FAILED (remote failure)
finished. total time: 0.080s
I'm super desperate at this point. Will LG fix my device if I send it to them? I know warranty is out the window but would they fix it for a payment?

maybe you locked the bootloader at some point with twrp !
maybe your unlock.bin is corrupted you need either unlock bootloader or try to flash kdz via download mode accessing
if you can't do that, LG center is the only way good luck
Why were you originally trying to flash stock firmware?

I realized the visual appeal of custom OSes no longer attract me as much as full usability (Using google pay or fingerprint in some apps) and stability as I used to when I was young. I wanted to flash stock firmware and just keep root and xposed to enhance my stock experience.
Update 2:
I contacted LG and they quoted me a minimum of $300 and up for repairs.. Really hope someone has a fix to my issue or any other suggestions. I'm thinking about taking to a phone repair store but I doubt they will be able to fix this. I live in Houston, TX area if anybody has store suggestions. Thank you
So what rom were you on? And how did you flash it without TWRP? Can you go through from start to finish exactly what you did?

TWRP does not start completely

I'm trying to flash and start the TWRP. I've already done this once on a LG G6 (h870).
I downloaded TWRP from there: twrp.me/h870
Code:
OEM is unlocked:
fastboot getvar unlocked
unlocked: yes
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.2.3-0-h870.img
Sending 'recovery' (21420 KB) OKAY [ 0.911s]
Writing 'recovery' OKAY [ 0.190s ]
After the flash, I start the recovery mode by pressing the button combination. After that I get the factory reset request, -> I choose 2x "yes".
The LG logo appears and then the splash screen of TWRP. But instead of getting into TWRP, the screen gets dark again and the phone restarts in the system.
I didn't find the same problem anywhere in a forum. Does anyone know what I can try to do to successfully start TWRP? Thank you for your help!
Unlocking again did the trick

For whatever reason, this was the solution:
Code:
fastboot flash unlock unlock.bin
Good news ...
I had the same problem as you with TWRP 3.2.3 H870 and i finally used the "unofficial twrp" developped by RunningNak3d" ...
In other words, you unlocked your phone twice !!!
Did your unlock it a second time, then flashed the TWRP official again OR did you simply flash a second time the unlock.bin ?
And this way, do you still have the "infamous" WARNING screen about bootloader locked made in Google ?

image verification error, TWRP Install failed.

Hello, I'm new here so if I miss any Forum rules please let me know.
TL;DR: I unlocked the bootloader of my VNS-L31 with PotatoNV and now I get the Message FAILED (remote: 'image verification error')
So, i want to install a Custom ROM in order to get OTG Support for my Smartphone. I'm new to this but as I figured out I need to do the following Steps.
1. Unlock Bootloader using PotatoNV
2. Install TWRP
3. Root via SU
3. Install CustomRom via TWRP
I think I managed to unlock my bootloader as I get the "your device cant be trusted" message every time I boot. I can enter fastboot mode with ADB and my device is recognized when it's in fastboot mode. when I try now to install TWRP (i tried different versions) I get the following message:
J:\Smartphone\TWRP\platform-tools_r31.0.2-windows\platform-tools>fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.1-0-venus.img
Sending 'recovery' (24464 KB) OKAY [ 0.648s]
Writing 'recovery' FAILED (remote: 'image verification error')
fastboot: error: Command failed
Reading the Forums suggested to relock the Bootloader and then unlock it again in good old " did you turn it off and on again" manner. but when I googled how to relock and unlock I got the warning that a lot of devices cant be unlocked a second time. So should I try to relock it via fastboot ? if I do so, can I unlock it again with the new unlockcode i set in PotatoNV, or do I need to open my phone for Testpoint mode and unlock it with PotatoNV again?
so hopefully i didn't miss any necessary information and someone here can help me or point me in the right direction
greetings
Elfenfreund
PS: Pardon my Writing. It's late and my English is not very trained.
No need to relock. Just unlock it again using the code given by the Potato. Then try flashing again the image.
