Caixi 9” inch android 8.1 HU FM radio problems - Android Head-Units

I have this HU and my fm radio reception is very poor.
Already tried normal antenna and amplified antenna but nothing works.
When i try old radio its just fine.
Someone have a solution or another fm tuner offline app.
Its an android 8.1(go) system so i cant download any apps on usb or sd because it can t find the files.

I've had 3 Chinese head units already (on different cars) and they all seem to have this problem

Generic Android Head Unit- TS901.160414

I bought an android head unit recently (MCU: TS901.160414, Henhaoro 1024x600 Quad Core WiFi Android 4.4 6.2" In Dash 2 Din Car Dvd Gps Navigation Player Stereo Capacitive Touch Screen with Bluetooth Radio for Universal Car Support dvr TPMS OBD2 )and I was wondering if anyone knows how to root this radio. There is literally ZERO support from the guy who sold me the unit nor info about the firmware (or possible updates)
I wanted to install Viper4Android Android driver and a better equalizer app.
The sound coming from the unit is pretty bad (as for my standards - basically worst than from my stock radio I replaced. )
Thank you

Will Viper4Android work with my unit?
Also, is it possible to replace the factory equalizer and radio with something better the the stock apps? (any good apps I could use for that? )

Joying JY-UL135N2 Radio App No Sound

Need help... I've searched but cannot find my issue or been able to piece together a solution from all the information available..
I did find on other models when radio is not working, you can go into "Factory Settings" and select a different radio and that fixes the sound. On my unit, I do not have a "Factory Settings" option..
Sound works on everything else but radio has no sound and no stations..
Joying JY-UL135N2
5.1.1
Intel Atom QuadCore 2GB DDR3
MCU Version 2017-02-16
If you have no stations it means that you don't receive anything and that's the reason you have no sound either.
So:
Is your antenna connected?
Do you need an antenna amplifier?
Do you perhaps have a broken antenna cable?
No. Stopped suddenly. Don't know if there was an update. No static (bad reception). Nothing at all from radio.
I am having the exact same issue on a Seicane head unit in my Ford Explorer.
The radio app just stopped producing sound one day but everything else works.
I know it is Android 8.0 but I am not with the vehicle at the moment to give anymore specifics.
Hi.
Did you solve this radio problem?
I have same problem joying JY-UM135N2, no radio sound, no hiss.
I have no luck to find factory settings where to select radio chip.

Yt9213a (8227L) NextRadio app can't access FM radio reciever

I was looking for a different radio app, since the built-in one isn't very good and does not store stations persistently. I downloaded NextRadio, but when it loads it says "FM Radio is Unavailable...... NextRadio doesn't have access to the FM radio receiver in your device". How is it that the stock Radio app works but not this one? Anyone have a good radio app that uses the FM tuner? (Not internet radio). Thanks.

The radio chip in these units is not presented to the Android system. Instead the radio app sends commands to a dedicated radio module on the amplifier board. The same for the Bluetooth unit, as it's not actually part of the Android tablet.
These head units are two devices that work together. The Android part is basically a tablet that has dedicated apps to talk to the Radio part. The two parts work separate, and that's why all the FM radio apps and stuff are such garbage. They have to send commands to the actual FM module on the Radio board and get back a response about what is happening. In theory it would be possible to see what commands and data the FM radio app uses and write your own to send & receive the same data.

Is this separation of modules also related to why the EQ/Balance/Fade functionality does not work on this head unit? I noticed a few reports stating the same problem I'm having... where the faders have no effect whatsoever. No front/rear fade, no left/right pan, and no EQ change.

By the way, I discovered something today... I was playing music files from a USB drive and lo and behold, the EQ and Balance functionality worked. I started to think about why and I think it has to do with what you said. The reason it wasn't working for me initially is because I was trying to use it with the radio, and since u said the radio is outside of the android layer, that's probably why it wasn't working. But it looks like it DOES work with any audio that's within the Android layer.
Can confirm what @pizzaboy192 has posted. You will NOT be able to use any sound processing, not even to mute radio during navigation directions because of this funky implementation.
All you can do is root and then replace the radio apk with the macnaughty one that does save stations and (for me) has HD information.
I used this
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android-auto/android-head-units/everything-yt9216b-t4007063
BTW :you probably miss the HIFI flag in build.prop as in my case at least the built in equalizer and spatializer work with the radio app.. Viper4Android however, does not work, despite being complied in and having root access, simply because the audio path from the radio bypasses the OS.

8227L_demo

Hi,
hello, i bought this radio from aliexpress (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000620695689.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.421e4c4dx9cnJf / MT8227L 4-Core Android 10 2GB+32GB (Radio IC: ST7708, Amp IC: AC 7315, DSP normal)) but the concerns turned out:
1) First, the radio always turns on for a long time (as if the memory is cleared. While the radio channels are still there).
2) Searching for a gps signal takes a very long time.
3) The radio loses the signal in the meantime when the car is switched off.
4) There are very few options to configure. Even in menu 8888.
There is no help from the Chinese. As always Tried different cables, locations, etc.
Since I already had one experience with Chinese android software, it is clear that the error is in android software.
Although there was another android radio but with malaysk mod software all the troubles were solved.
Here is the Chinese android radio software: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1z0UrWRHSb_ZCvt3YsDVytRMMHUutrVpT/view?usp=sharing
Can anyone help or provide better software or improve existing one?

From the few pictures you posted, I think your device is a FF-5500 right? If so, then it uses the same firmware as Junsun V1 and Hizpo ad907001

Where i can check this?
For your GPS you can use gps amplifier. (this is for increasing gps antenna signal) i've ordered one of this and still wait it to arrive.

8227L YT9216B 2/32 Problem with muting (pausing audio) the radio app

On my radio I am struggling with the problem of muting (pausing audio) the radio app for a fraction of a second when throwing the radio app into the background and clicking, for example, on the icons on the desktop or even on the radio app on the front and clicking the "carousel" icon of running programs (top, second from the right) or the icon " home". There is no problem with this when playing mp3s. I suspect that the problem is caused by the fact that the FM radio IC is not soldered to the PCB, but the FM radio reception is provided by the "combo" MT6625 IC. Do all cheap 8227L radios with FM radio in a combo chip behave like this? Do I need to change in settings or in system files (rooted android)?
8227L YT9216B 2/32 (PCB: YT9217), CSC37033, MT6625, TDA7388, firmware YT9216B_00002_V004_20200306, android 6.0
(sorry for my english - google translator)
