It looks nice but I think it's really stupid to put glass on the back of any phone - wish they used metal and a metal that would stick to my magnetic car holder - the phone is way too slippery and designed to slip from the hand and smash on the ground for sure

I agree with you, however as a previous mi a1 user leaving it exposed in wet places wouldn't be a good idea

It looks beautiful, especially the back, but god damn the finger marks are getting me paranoid every time I take off the case rofl, the physical buttons feedback when I press them feels so good, quite enjoyable.

Despite my elitist Nexus or GTFO I bought the note because I loved the design of note5/s6. It does feel like a premium device
Had the unit for just two weeks, but after the checking the flash and heart rate sensor, there are a lot scratches already.
Back glass is whack!
My back glass broke after sliding from my dashboard to the floor board all while it was inside of a case. I have never liked phones with glass body desgin. I kinda bought this phone with that in mind and have regretted my decision immediately since getting it. Coming from the S5, I've lost a lot of functions that I had come accustom to using. Also the cheaper build quality of the S5 withstood much, much, more than this note 5 has so far.
its way to slippery i ve had to put a skin on it just to stop it slipping threw my hands ...i cant believe designers not thinking it could become the slippery's phone on earth
Im glad and delighted that the body is full metal this time. Dont' get me wrong, I love my note 3 however the build quality is EXcellent. I know iphone users have enjoyed all metal frame body for awile, but I like what samsung did with the note 5. It looks sexay in the hand and it feels sexay in the hand as well.

Even though most of the material is not metal, the plastic/fiber hybrid material feels very durable and comfortable to hold. No flex detectable at all.
It feels kind of plasticky. If you knock on the screen with the tip of your fingernail, it doesn't sound like glass at all. It sounds like some cheap plastic. The metal top/bottom feel like they might just fall off eventually.
I love glass/metal, like the Z3. It felt really premium, and I still use it as my alarm. The XZ1C doesn't feel as nice in the hand. Not that it feels bad, not at all. It just doesn't feel as premium.
I think the XZ1 Compact feels nice and solid in hand. No flexing or any creaking even though it is mostly plastic, which is fine with me. Less weight and I've heard it can help with better reception. I usually end up wrapping my phone in a case, so never feel what the phone is made of anyways.

I completely agree with the hollow sounding screen. What the hell is that?
Another thing I'd like to add. The top and bottom bars feel like they might fall off at any moment. It feels like the front/back/sides of the phone were put together in one process, and the top/bottom were added as an afterthought. I hope I'm completely wrong.
Hi folks, just got my xz1c in black today, loving it so far. I came from the sgs7 to this and i think it's very sturdy and has a quality feel. I'll be scouring the forum for tips & tricks. Glad to be part of the xz1c forum. :good:

A lot has been said about the screen on this phone, and understandably. This is brand new tech so people want to know how well it works and how live-with-able it is. I'll come back to the screen.
Firstly the body of the phone is excellent. It feels sturdy and nice to hold and use. Unfortunately the glass is the most slippery thing I've ever felt. I put it on a flat wireless charger on a flat table on a flat floor, and it still managed to slide slowly off! You need a case which is a shame at the phone is so beautiful.
The hinge is reassuringly robust. Supposedly it will last 200,000 actions which is over 100 a day for 5 years. That might be marketing guff, but it certainly doesn't feel flimsy or worrying at all.
Now the screen: For those who don't know the 'controversy'. Samsung marketed the phone as having a glass screen. It subsequently turned out that it does BUT there is a polymer layer on top of that. Glass screens are used because they are strong and scratch resistant. Plastic isn't really. This phone uses ultra-thin glass which gives incredible screen clarity, but no protection. The plastic on top is great quality but some caution is needed, this is not as tough as you're probably used to. To mitigate this Samsung offer a free screen protector service and one nominal-cost screen replacement per device (£99 in the UK).
The device is not water or dust resistant at all. Again, almost all devices are these days so bear that in mind with this one.
Overall, this phone is very well made and feels strong and robust but there are caveats to consider before buying it. If you are a bit clumsy with phones, or use them in dusty, moist, or very physical environments, it might not be a good daily driver for you.
I still have a fear that its construction will accidentally break...

Feels decently solid not too plasticy light or flimsily, but its far too smooth. I see an accident waiting to happen (has a few times) like a wet wienie being held in a baby oil grip. A case is a must have!
The screen is good im a contractor and have put in my pocket with tons of bad stuff like rough sharp metal doodads. Its been scratched but holding up remarkably to my abuse. Still needing to buy a glass screen protector to prolong clarity.
The end pieces cap and butt are "crappy" meaning soft plasticy and they are indented scratched but the overall finish paint n protective coating seems to be sticking well to the pieces all over the phone. Maybe this will be a good thing for refurnishing expense.(cheap replacement part$)
Love the feel look and design its a little strange being longer vs wider. I would have liked it just a wee bit wider than longer than it is. I'd say maybe an 7 or 8 of 10. The design and feel of the phone has to be the the most impressive aspect. Could have been a all star with a few tweaks IMO.

I like and dislike (I know it's weird) the "sound" of the hinge... Yes, if you are in a really quiet place, you hear the brushes in the hinge doing their job. It's nice though, knowing that they are their, as advertised. But it kinda sounds a bit awkward at the same time.
Maybe it's just me
what about the touch feeling of materials is it nice to touch or not?
Well I have had my fold 2 for a few days now, upon the unboxining and first initial impressions I most certainly didn't go oh this is fragile. The fold 2 feels extremely well constructed and after watching Zacks video I feel even more confident. People say oh but the inner display will scratch with your fingernails (i can't speak for everyone) but I personally cut mine
I am not going to detract this amazing device by getting a case , I have however got my Dbrand skins on the way.
Personally I feel safe and secure and credit to Samsung for the great improvements........:good:
definitely feels better than i thought it would when i took out the box other day. more solid than the Fold(1)
Just got mine in black with blue spine. Was surprised to find that the phones edges are very lightly ridged. That's an amazing subtle touch that I've never seen on any phone I've had. Very nice finish to the device.
Mine had a case on the device and the case actually scratched the polished metal rim also the case too pulled the screen protector slightly need a better case
I bit disappointed in the scratches by the case on the metal hinge that's why the more expensive cases comes with tape to prevent damage. Oh well
