Can't turn on internet on Vodafone 4g - Nokia 6.1 Plus (X6) Questions & Answers

Before the August patch, I was only getting 3G on Vodafone even with sufficient balance and in a strong network area , there was no way of getting 4G but after the August patch , I can't even turn it on. The sim is working fine on other phones with good 4G speed but not on my device.

I have no advice other than check your APN settings.

What does the roaming icon look like? I'm on at&t.
There is a "R" next to the signal bar.
Yes i have. I have a Dutch Telfort sim. Telfort was bought by KPN, so i am on the KPN network now, and my SGS always tells me i am roaming. Could it be similar situation with you ?

Yeah, I have ATT sim.
But the signal bar has a "R" right next to it.
I went into setting and check the wireless status. It states it is on ATT.
Okay, then yes, I have roaming too. I also couldn't get internet (edge) until I check the allow data roaming setting. However, according to AT&T's map, I should be well covered by AT&T. But even if I am roaming, I don't think domestic roaming costs anything.

If you roam too much, ATT might drop you because it costs them to roam....
And I want to make sure I won't see an unexpected EXPENSIVE bill...
I think the phone indicates roaming based on the sim info. So in my case it indicates roaming because i on KPN while the sim is Telfort. The Telfort network does not exist anymore and i have to use KPN (with the allow data roaming setting). Only dangerous part is when i go to another country. If you have ATT and your phones tells you it is connected to ATT network it should be ok, maybe you should contact them why your phone tells you it is roaming. Could have something to do with your sim card.

I think you are right.
My sim is actually cingular, but cingular was merged with ATT.
Thank you!

You can probably request a replacement sim card with ATT, but normally they charge you like $10 for it.
i believe you'll need to edit your csc file to include AT&T as local

Mine is brand new from at&t, doubt a new sim card would work.
EDIT: Is there some way to check on your online account to see if it's been using roaming?
I'd also like to know how to edit the csc. My phone also thinks it's roaming. It was bought from austria, and now I'm using it with a finnish simcard..

Reboot. Turn off your Wifi first, then enable wifi hotspot tethering.
I tried that and it didn't work.
I don't have data connection but I tried to turn it on and it worked fine.
Hmmmm. Looks like i need to pay 15$ extra to get the service enabled on Tmobile. Strange how i never had to do that with my Nexus One.

Do you have some really old and cheap data plan?
They can detect it if you don't pay right?

no, that would be illegal to monitor your network traffic without a warrant

LOL wut? Course they can detect it. How else do they know if you're over your limit or not. LOL. And no that's not illegal.
One of the things advertised with the NS is no charge for wifi teathering. I think they only require a fee on the 4g devices.

That's why I asked the OP if he/she had an old cheap data plan. You have to have a current data plan.
Can they detect if you have an old plan? Yes. Can they detect if you're using the tethering/hotspot feature? Probably. Can they detect how much bandwidth you're using? Definately.
Must have an Android plan. Some got away with using a lesser plan but not all apps work. Visual voicemail etc....

Huh? Like they know when you've gone over the limit when X surpasses Y, i.e, 210mbs(X)>200mbs(Y)

Yes EM+ with unlimited data is fine.
I was replying to slowz3r cuz he said it was illegal if they can "detect it".
And yes, they can detect if you've gone over the limit, or overusing data plan, etc.

[Q] Wifi problem?
I unlocked and rooted today and thought everything was fine. However, after the phone was factory reset, all of my apps didn't auto update like before after signings in and Im having a wierd wifi issue.
I can connect to access points but now I can't actually use wifi. The 2 or 3g sign will still be on. Even if I have full bars on wifi I can't use wifi. I went into recovery and fixed permissions and the problem still persists. I have no idea how to fix it short of a factory reset. Could rooting have anything to do with it?

WifI probs after new update
I've seen the Mobile network problem but this is different . My WiFi signal sits in white and not green until I manually forget network and re apply the SSID.
Worked perfect before update , would walk into my home and it would pick up and connect .
Anyone else having this problem or no of a cure ?

I've had problems with three different handsets (iPhone 3G, Vibrant, Nexus) on different Wi-Fi routers. Believe it or not, what usually fixes the problem is updating the router to it's latest available firmware. I haven't kept up with all of the varieties of WPA2 or 802.11N, but it's helped me...
cheers , I was looking at a new router after Xmas . Thing is it worked flawlessly before the update .
I will do a hard reset and see if that helps
Thanks

T-Mobile choppy sound when in call

Anyone else getting this? only when you are on Volte as soon as I turn off volte and call/receive call on HSPA it's ok.
I assume this could be simply buggy radio for tmobile. That might be why they wanted to delay 6.0 update.
Anyone has it or knows any temporary fix?
I have the same issue.
It's because its t-mobile
I had the same issue so I just disabled Enhanced calling

Don't think so I switched from Verizon and I have no issues with T-Mobile in fact I love it. I can use as much data as I want. Verizon is not worth the money.
There must be problem with the radio that's all.

Is weird but that wasn't showing up before, (well better say the option to click it on or off was greyed out). I restarted the phone and magically that showed up ready to click On or Off. Thank you.

G531F - 4G sign?

Probably a dumb question...but I'm really confused about this.
I've never seen on my G531F the 4G sign even if it is available in my location. Maximum what I get is H+.
I saw E, 3G, H, H+ signs but never the 4G.
The LTE option is checked in network settings.
Can somebody tell me what's the problem?

i have volte on Att

Dont know if this is known. When I tried this originally my phone showed up as h+ during all phone calls. It now shows lte+ and the has picked up speed browsing while on phone calls. So ymmv
Yea, no voLTE for me on ATT
Idk why volte matters but it is available on TMobile you just have to enable it manually.

Better call quality and better voice coverage if it's an area where ATT doesn't have HSPA on 850Mhz or an LTE only site..... Just tried on mine, still HSPA for voice.

I have a LG G6 IMEI on my account. I then enabled the magisk module. I will say the VoLTE icon never goes away.
