Charged my phone from 30% to 100% within 40 minutes. Although I'm using a different adapter here in Europe than the one provided in the AliExpress bundle.

it charges quite fast, 50 to 100 take around 30-40 min, 0 to 90 only around 50 to 60 min, then it will slow down from 91 to 100 around 15 min.
the downside is you need vooc fast charger to charge fast, other fast charger is only charge normally

VOOC 3.0 really mean something. My last device redmi note 5 pro 4000mAh with qc 2 need more than 1 hour to recharge from 20-80%.
realme 5 pro with little bigger 4035mAh battery charge in only 30 minutes. Now that's innovation. Plus i still could using it for social media or streaming videos while charge it. No noticeable heat compared to my whyred with qc 2 while charging.
Love this VOOC technology.
The build quality also very nice, power adaptor and usb c cable was solid. Worth every penny..

vooc 3 is good. full charge in 1.25 hours

I've searched about snapdragon 712, and I saw it supports quick charge 4+ which is can charge up to 27w. Does this mean realme 5 pro supports 27watts charging because it's powered by snapdragon 712?

My 5 Pro do not quick charge OOB?!
I have try with my own QCC charger but charge it slowly and give it a try with a Realme phone box charger.
All was the same.
From 28% to 98% charge it about 2.5H !!!???
Any advice?

VOOC 3.0 is doing its job!
I am using this device for a while now. Charging with the inbox 20W(5V, 4A) adaptor and cable.
Plugged-in at 13%
43% in 31mins
67% in 46mins (Sufficient for a day for a moderate user like me)
77% in 79mins
100% in 96mins
PS: Couldn't post SS due to spam policies of XDA. I was not using the device while charging. Wifi and only a single sim were activated while charging the device.

Got an update a couple days back to realme ui and it seems that the charging speed is a bit better than previous color os, ve tried two attempts and it was a solid result, just an hour I got around 95 percent battery from 1 percent plug in, both attempts fills my realme 5 pro to 100 percent just under 1hour 10minutes.
Nb: attachment shows my latest charging result.

Which application is this????

Dear realme users,
I have got some difficulties to find a VOOC charger for my realme 5 pro.
Knowing "compatible chargers" issues, but not so compatible (slower or bad DATA cable), I wish know if you have some refernces to share.
I frind only compatible OnePlus chargers but it seems to be some differences between DashCharge and VoocCharge.
Official Vooc charger has following specifications :
Ref : AK779GB LiteOn, 100-240V et 5V-4A
Unfortunately, neither realme shop, neither Oppo shop sell this reference....
Thanks lot for your help.

The supplied charger is 2A but you can buy a 5A microusb charger and use it to decrease the charging time. Kirin 710 does support fast charging so it shouldn't be a problem.
battery capacity in the thread description is wrong? someone can change it?

can i just use the charger from my old S7 ? or could you specify a charger ? thanks man
I wonder how much it would take if I use a 6A charger for example and better, if there are such ones?
Only thing I think could have been better is fast charging support.
stock 5V/2A charger takes some time. Also used the 5V/4.5A supercharger but not much difference.

i have 5V/2A charger and it is managed to charge up my honor 8x from 12 percent to 50 percent in just 45 minutes, while taking a total of about 2 hours to charge up the device to 100 percent. If you’re familiar with how fast fast charging actually is, then you’d already know that the Honor 8X doesn’t charge quickly.
USB 2 is slow. USB type C could have make this wonderful phone. bit slow charging but no worries as once this is charged, you have full day to use
No fast charging option on the Honor 8X, which isn't that big of a deal. It just feels so strange charging a phone with a micro usb port.

From 8% to 100% mine takes an hour more or less
Now this is interesting.
I am using usb power meter alongside the supplied charger and cable in the box and I found that even after the phone showed 100% charge it continued to draw current (~300mAh) for another 20 minutes until stopped entirely.
So my total charge time from 0-100% was 2 hours and 44 minutes.
Also for the first ~60% charge the phone draw the full 1.55 amperes and after that gradually dropped down to 0.50 amperes.
While the charger runs little bit hot the phone was cold the entire time.
2 hours to charge from 15% to 42 %
too long
This is way too much. You have probably got defective charger/cable.
But! If you are trying to charge it from a pc then is normal as regular usb ports supply only 0.5A instead of the 1.55A from the original charger.
I just realize charger is defective
Should i fix it or buy new one
Idk if its the cable or adapter
Nowadays chargers are basic inverters with few more stuff.
They have very few components inside but sometimes, usually after hard hitting/dropping on hard surfaces the soldering can get damaged with varying consequence between simply stopping working to working abnormally as lowering voltage, current, overloading and many other things.
For example I had a strange case with fully working charger with healthy components and solder joints but was working on random intervals. It was caused by solder whiskers touching nearby naked track and causing shorts. If it was cheaper charger it would blow, but in this one the overvolt protection was able to save it.
And this is why you can just buy usb power tester like this one

or even simpler like this one
so that you can check what kind of power your phone actually receive from charger/power bank/pc etc.
Our phone does not have fast charge. As such it will not charge faster no matter how powerful charger and cable you can equip it with. For example I have one with 2x2.4 Amperes supporting QC charger mods and etc. - it will draw only up to 1.55 Amperes within 5 Volts range.
The normal USB 2.0 port can supply with max 0.5 Amperes, USB 3.0 within the basic implementation can supply under 1 Ampere.
In simple language this means with usb 2 it would take up to 8 hours to charge from 0 to 100%, with usb 3 it would take about 4 hours and half from 0 to 100% battery.
Of course depending on the manufacturers you can find usb 3 and 3.1 ports that are able to supply way more current, even values like 3 Amperes and higher.
This is why the best way to charge your phone is to use the supplied charger. The cable is also very important because of the current depending on the used wire gauge.
With cheap cable (using thin wires) you would not only be unable to use the available current, you can find yourself in the middle of fire.
But there is a big problem, the price sometimes doesn`t represent the needed quality.
Notice I`m not talking about durability. I can show you cables strong enough to endure 10 kilograms but with so thin wires that can`t carry over 0,5A trough them.
Put your trust only on products that are widely commented and tested by the buyers.
Now, I have tested the cable supplied with the phone. Although it easily handles the 1.55A current used by the phone if you put over 2A it will get really, really warm. This means the wires are big enough but are not expected to handle high current. In simple words don`t use this cable for other things than charging this phone, just to be safe.
=====================================
TLDR;
If you don`t have the necessary skills don`t try to repair it. Any repair error can easily make it burst in flames. Better try with another charger but make sure it can get you at least 1.5A otherwise it would take really long time to charge.

yes, I recommend oppo charger. In just 2hrs the batt will be full.
Is there a way to charge faster? In my case I can charge my phone maximally at 5.19V / 1.42A. Charging from 0% to 100% phone with such parameters takes more than 3 hours, because amperage is adaptive.

it took less than an hour for me from something below 30% to 99%.
edit: i can provide a gsam battery image if you like to.
I know..but his is how it is..
Note 8 pro does supports 18W fast charger. The charging speed is pretty good for me.
https://www.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-8-pro-teardown-confirms-quick-charge-3-0-support/
I did a test with my device. So at 4% battery, I put it in airplane mode. I used a 30W charger, with a USB Tip C - USB Tip C ports. It took 107 minutes to fully charge. Until 80%, the charging speed was about 13% per 10 minutes. After reaching 80%, the charging speed decreased. The phone reached 81% in 60 minutes. I logged the battery percentage and charging speed percentage every 10 minutes, and I included in a excel graphic. I attach this file. Maybe someone more tech savvy can understand more about the inner mechanism and if it is QC 3.0, 4.0 or whatever.

good
I have a QC4+ charger and a usb power monitor and it only shows QC3.0 on it`s display as the charging method on my 8pro.
I found it funny that using an old 10w charger takes about 15 minutes more to charge my device.
I keep using the old one as it produces less heat, and theoretically should prolong battery life.
Average charging speed with the fast charger provided with it, is 1 point rise per minute.
Which app is preferred to measure the current speed specially in Watts?

Battery life/efficiency is already quite good, so charging speed might not be a concern for most people.
Still, it would be nice if Google offered higher charging speeds, and added battery protection features to the phone.
Anyone have projected full time to charge from 0-100% or what 50-100% would look like? I think around 50%, shows 1hr and 40mins I believe.
Yeah about an hour from 50%-100%
But most of my usb c cables aren't working (properly).
When connected some say charging slowly and takes a full day and some don't even work while I could use those to charge very fast with other phones.
Anyone have these problems also?

Mine is lighting quick. I can go from 15% to 100% in just over an hour with my included charger
It charges a little bit faster than my Pixel 2 XL did with a 16% bigger battery so pretty good.
59% to full projected at 4hr on my standard Seneo wireless charging stand
55 minutes plugged into the Pixel USB charger
I think the charging speed it's quicker than my Pixel 4 XL. My Pixel 5 charges at about 1 hour and 15 minutes from 20% to 100%. Pixel 4 XL needs about 1 hour and 40 minutes with smaller battery capacity. I suppose Pixel 5 charging speeds is about 20 to 22Watts.
It's 18 W, for sure.
I'm using an Anker Nano III charger and an Anker braided type c to type c and Ampere shows it charging at 3.8A when it is rapid charging so that's 19W.
Personally i wish Google would add a 1A (or less) overnight charging option, i would find that much more useful than the rapid charge to be honest.

No point, it still rapid charges up to 80% still and just slows the last 20% down which to be honest it what it does anyway albeit the last 20% is a little faster and you don't need to have an alarm set. The adaptive charging option seems like the most pointless method of charging ever implemented to be honest.

To be honest the battery life is that good on the Pixel 5 it is the first phone in 10 years that i have not had to charge overnight, i generally top it up while i am settling down and unplug it before i nod off to sleep and it is always still at 100% or 99% the next morning. There is nearly always well over 50% left before i do the same again the following evening.
I just think for a lot of people a setting for a slow trickle charge would be just as beneficial as the default rapid charging.

First one in 10years? Then you had some phones with bad battery life haha.. The pixel 5 battery is alright. i've had better
I agree with some above, the pixel 5 lasts me all day so I don't even use the supplied fast charger. I actually use a apple USB plug and it charges very slowly over night for me with adaptive charge so helps to preserve battery life even more. Still amazed how incredible the battery life is on the Pixel 5.

Yup, you seem to forget some early Android phones had batteies as small as 1000mAh and if you enabled Wi-Fi or god forbid mobile data the battery was flat in 10 minutes, not a cat in hells chance of reaching 12 hours let alone a day. Moving forwards my previous 3 phones the OnePlus 7t, Nokia 8.1 and Nokia 8 could not come anywhere near the Pixel 5 for battery longevity unless you made compromises to your usage. Last week i rattled though 30GB of data doing 5G speed tests on the Pixel 5 and i still had 60 odd % left at the end of the day.

Superfast Charging 2.0 adapter. Alternative to the Official one

Afternoon you lovely lot!.
Just sharing a decent little find nestled amongst all the Amazon prime day tat, that's flying around.
If anyone's looking for an alternative to the official Sammy 45w superfast charger, i grabbed this one yesterday and got it today.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08FX1N2ZH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
there's an £8 voucher on the item as well so all in, this is £28 . have tested it on my 5g S7+ and it does 100% support 45w+ PPS power delivery and displays "super fast charging 2.0" on the notification bar.
Though it might be a good find for someone with all the varying standards flying around at the moment. (plus has 2x usb c and 1x usb a)
Any questions, just let me know.
Cheers all!
Thankyou for the info. Ordered ?
Just ordered one of these to boost my Tab S7 or S20 Ultra when needed.
I am curious how fast it charges? I have the 25W samsung from my Note 10 plus. It's also displays super fast charging and charges the s7+ quite quickly.
This charger shows Super fast charging 2.0,
Twice as fast than the 15w charger.
30 minutes gets my S20 ultra from 0->88%, it then slows to protect the battery.

Good as it gets; any faster is going to degrade the battery lifespan more rapidly. With the 25 watt brick it knocks some of the lifespan off even you practice conservative charging cycles.
Just replaced my 1.5 yo Note 10+ battery. It was swollen and pressing on the display.
I was lucky that it didn't damage the display.
With a battery failure there's more to lose than just the battery. Higher temperatures and charge rates increase the risk of a problematic failure
