S5e and PD, and case - Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e Questions & Answers

I have few PD charger as well as external batteries.
I found it behaves differently with different chargers.
Those chargers with QC should use QC except you have PD pass through USB hub.
I have to check more.
Moreover, I got a cheap TPU case but it fits 100%.

My experience buying non-Google fast charging chargers and cables for my Nexus 6p

I bought a second hand Nexus 6p last week, without a charger. I ordered a charger and cable from amazon uk:
The charger: USB Type-C Charger, Tronsmart 27W Dual Port USB C Wall Charger for Nexus 5X/6P, S7, HTC 10, LG G5 and Other USB-C Phones and iPhone Android Device £13.55 ($17)
Cable: 'USB Type C Cable, CableCreation Super Speed Gen 2 (10Gbps) USB 3.1 Type C Male to Male Cable' which cost £11.99 ($15).
I could only get normal charging, no fast/rapid, so I ordered replacements of both as amazon prime allows free returns.
I ordered a iKits (CE/FCC Verified) 5V3A Type-C AC USB Wall Charger/Travel Charge, USB-C 15W for Macbook, Google Chromebook Pixel, Google Nexus 5X 6P & etc. Universal US AU UK EU Plug Adapter included Black, £10.99 ($14)
USB Type C Cable, CHOETECH Hi-speed USB-C to USB-C Cable 3.3ft(1m) for USB Type-C Devices Including LG G5, the new MacBook, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P. £4.99 ($6)
I tested with the original Tronsmart charger, but the new cable, the Choetech and wow, rapid/fast charging! The cable was half the price of my original choice, yet allows for greater charging speeds. I have today sent the Cable Creation cable back.
I will test the iKits charger tonight.
I find it helpful to have two chargers, especially since nothing else in my house uses USB C, and if one got stolen at work, I like to have a backup. I will keep you guys posted on the iKits.
I hope this helps anyone who needs a replacement charger for their 6P
NB: I am not sponsored, or paid, etc.. I struggled to find info on this myself and figured I can't be the only one.
update:
Both the Tronsmart and iKits charger fast/rapid charge my nexus. I returned the cable and got a cheap Tronsmart USB C cable and it works as well for fast/rapid charging.
So I now have two different brands, in my opinion affordable too, chargers and two different cheap USB C cables that all support fast charging. Very pleased.
Hope this helps!
thank you for the information, i was looking for alternative charger also.
As long as you stick with the better 3rf party stuff you will be OK. I am personally not a fan of Tronsmart, but Anker has yet to let me down.

Anyone use a chromebook charger on their V20 yet?

As the title says, has anyone tried using a chromebook charger with their V20? Picked up an Asus C302sa and it uses a 45W usb-c charger. It would be nice to carry just the one but I don't want to fry my phone. Thoughts? Or am I about to be a guinea pig? (I guess if it comes down to it, I can just throw my spare battery in before attempting and hope that's the worst of it.)
I've used a Targus usb c laptop charger and the Anker USB PD on my V20. It works great. If you look on the output info of the charger, you should see a range of values (maybe just 2 for cheaper chargers). Usually there's one high wattage for laptops and one low wattage for phones/accessories.
Thanks! I'll have to see if I can find a magnifying glass to read the print.

fast car charger

Hi, i ordered a few car chargers, all were said 'fast charge'/quallcom fast charge 2/3 etc on ebay/aliexpress.
With all of them phone says 'slow charging'.
Can somebody recommend a fast car charger, that's not expensive(less than 15$)?
Thanks
Anker do one its just over £15 here not sure in US
Anker PowerDrive Speed 2 39W

Did you try it with the original or high quality cable? Besides do not buy cheap chargers especially fast ones.
You could damage the battery. I would recommend Samsung's original fast adaptive charger. The older models work well too (you could save some money by buying the older s7 variant). They will ship to you with micro USB, but you could bring your own cable.

I have this one and its perfect always shows fast charging on the phone
Also if you are using a fast charger 2.0 with the screen on it will show cable charging. It will only fast charge with the screen off.
Firstly..more than likely it's the cable(s) you're using. Usually it's the brand/quality of cable that affects charging rates more than anything.
Secondly... with how advanced these chargers and phones are now with QC and all the varying voltages etc..it would behoove you to maybe spend a few extra bucks and go with a high quality power adapter instead of cheap, China mad junk that could potentially seriously damage your phone or battery. The Original Samsung adaptive fast charging adapters-with cable are pretty cheap from numerous outlets. Outside of original Samsung chargers, I've only ever used adapters by Anker. Never had a problem with them and always fast charge with either original cable or the other type of cable I use; wich is the "Snowkids USB type C" on Amazon. Bestseller there.

Charging cable

I got my awesome new OnePlus 6T a couple weeks ago. I upgraded from a Nokia 6.1. Both have USB-C connectors.
After I got my Nokia 6.1 I bought about 6 various cheap USB-C charging cables to have as spares... in the office, cars, bathroom, kitchen, etc.
All of my cheap charging cables will charge my Nokia 6.1 but none of them will charge my OP6T.
I can charge my OP6T with the Nokia OEM cable and with the OnePlus OEM cable... why will none of my other cables charge the OP6T?? Are there wires missing out of cheap generic charging cables??
You can buy original from OnePlus or from Aliexpress, Gearbest, Geekbuy, Joybuy, Tomtop. The Dash charger & cable it's WORTH every penny!
On oneplus cost more, like 19 euro. On others 3-4 $
Beware of cheap cables without the proper 56k resistor in them. Improper use can damage the charger and device.
I've never used the factory cable with my 6T, but I've never used the DashCharger either. Do these cables not work with any charger / PCs?
It work, but why ? You'll never have Dash charge, that means Speed charging!
USE! the OEM cable only do not mix cables/brick as they're not meant for other devices, For example OnePlus Cable's do not follow Type C specification wouldn't advise using them on any other device.
I just looked through the box, and read the little user manual booklet, it says:
"connect the USB Type-C cable to the USB port on your device"
"Note: Fast charging can only be achieved by using the OnePlus original product USB cable and travel adapter"
Nowhere does it say that some USB-C cables don't work. And nowhere does it say to not use any other cables or chargers.
So, there is a 56Kohm resistor inside the cable? Is this only in OnePlus cables? What is the purpose of the resistor?
I just found this article, I think I understand now. Don't buy cheap USB-C cables!

Question Weird charging glitch

Although their doesn't appear to be any problems with the charging, for some reason when i put my phone on charge [Using samsung fast charger 40W] it will play the charging vibration and notification multiple times before it stops, the most its happened to me is around 3 times, just wondering if this is normal or a charger/software problem
Assume its a USB-C to USB-C Samsung charger? I never had a good experience with Samsung chargers for any device that isn't Samsung. My last 2 Pixels (2XL & 4XL), before moving to Nothing 1 never charged off the Samsung chargers. I just tested a USB-A to USB-C Samsung block with a third party USB cable, and my Nothing 1 charged successfully, but it isn't a fast charge 40W USB-C one.
I think a while ago Samsung blocks weren't quite correct to match the USB-C standard so didn't work for most devices, but I may be wrong. That was a good few years ago though.
I would try a different USB cable first, just in case the USB-C cable isn't compatible. I have learnt the hard way some USB-C cables are charge only cables and don't work in "smarter" chargers as the internals of the cable are wrong. It's a long shot though.

I've tried the one provided by nothing, and the one that came with Samsung, it could be an os issue in which case I might flash the stock image then update
I have the same issue with samsung 25W charger.
Does anyone happen to know which charger would be best to buy for nothing phone?
So I use my old Google Pixel chargers. They work. The official nothing charger is probably the best one to use to be honest:
Nothing Phone (1) Power (45W) - Nothing (United Kingdom)
Fuel everything you need. Super fast, reliable 45W charging with PD3.0. With the official Phone (1) adaptor. Free shipping.

I also use this on my work desk so I can charge and watch things. There are probably better wireless chargers though:
NORDMÄRKE Wireless charging stand, bamboo - IKEA
