Hello dear,
I don't know if the 'demo' version can be unlocked (bootloader code),
but if yes then you can use @k1ll3r8e's TOOLKIT to rebrand to another region (cust)
like C432 european or C636 asian, etc... you just need the correct files.
Once you rebranded then will be possible to upgrade to nougat via Firmware Finder app
or some other tool/script.
P.S.: What version of p9 lite do you have ? L21-L22-L23-L31-L53 ?
Cheers

Well, i think you can rebrand to the european firmware (C432);
both single and dual sim oeminfo files and matching firmwares (B160&B161) available. (see the attachments below)
But, like a told, you need to unlock the bootloader first.
P.S.: you already risked to brick the device trying by your own,
using the toolkit and doing something wrong could turn the device in a paperweight....beware what you do with your device !!!
Cheers

Dear friend,
I agree with you and completely opposed to paying, but
I believe there are no other ways than giving up a couple of beers and
using DC-UNLOCKER which at the cost of 4 euro reads the bootloader code.
Obviously you only know if it's worth it and definitely remains your choice.
For everything you should / want to do there's a guide you just have to follow.
If you encounter any problems or are unsure about how to do,
you can always meet the community or me in this topic.
I wish you the best !!
Cheers

After flashing Chinese AL10 to L29 NXT-C900B133 what stock ROM can I use?

I've reasonably scoured the Mate 8 section looking for what ROM to use to convert my NXT-C900B133 to a locked, stock version and avoid the problems with the phone being unlocked and untrusted, not to mention not receiving OTA updates.
There are pages and pages of questions and answers, but I haven't found an answer to this problem of mine.
Many folk must have used that thread on how to convert an AL10 to L29 but no one seems to have clarified how to return the Mate 8 to a locked state which will receive OTA. I saw someone asked a similar question but got no answer. Possibly I won't either but I'm now out of ideas so why not ask?
I never tested NFC before I changed ROMs and I'm hoping an updated stock ROM may fix an NFC reading problem I'm having.

My search for C436B190 didn't bring up any results.
I then tried the link in your signature (latest stock version) but that didn't work (using the three buttons together & dload folder). Got the "software failed install, incompatible with current version, reboot" error.
I don't suppose you have a link to the version your recommend?
Cheers.

I also live in South Africa and got the C900B133. There is a C900B188 available if you just want to stick with your current "global" version.
I changed my country code to the C636 and flashed C636B321. If you do this according to @somboons SRK Tool and instructions you will end up with a Locked stock C636B321 which is great.

Hi there, thanks for the link (I assume C436B190?).
I downloaded the update, which took almost 3 hrs the site is sooo slow.
I connected an SD card with the update in a folder called dload. Start the three finger boot and was really disappointed to be told at 5%:
"software failed to install
incompatibility with current version
reboot"
I tried again with moving dload to internal memory, but the same outcome.
Scratching my head here. Are my steps faulty?
Cheers.

Hi, someone in the same boat so to speak!
I didn't know that the C900 part designated your country code. What made you chose C636 (China)? I have seen @somboons pages but didn't find answers to my problem, well staring me in the face anyway!
Does ZA have a country code and stock ROM? I went into Huawei's new store in Melrose Arch this morning. The guy tried to help but couldn't assist with a stock ROM and referred me to their main office in Bryanston. I figure at this point I will get better information on XDA!
My Mate 8 is just rejecting any ROM I try to flash. On the face of it, only the right ROM will be accepted, but I haven't found it (or I'm doing it wrong!).

I am not sure of the South African country code, if it even has one, but I have another Huawei which is C185 which is Africa and middle-east. It all depends who imported the phone and who you bought it from. Huawei phones don't control their ROMs like Samsung.
C636 is Asia. China has it's own model NXT-AL10 instead of NXT-L29. I chose NXT-L29 C636 B** simply because it had the highest update number for 'international versions ..which is B321 ... So I installed NXT-L29C636B321.
All international versions, NXT-L29, are full English, as apposed to China model NXT-AL10 which is mainly chinese.
Also any ROM that you choose from C3** has the new EMUI 4.1 and they are NOT officially released by Huawei yet, so you flash them at your own cost...although I have found them pretty good.
You cannot just flash any ROM over your current ROM. You have to change region(called: debranding) and then you can flash the ROM you choose from that region.
So you need to spend a bit of time reading up on the threads by @somboons because EVERYTHING is there...you just have to decide what you want.

Hi @Finefeather,
just to clarify that I imported the Mate 8 from HKG, and it was an AL10. Before ordering the Chinese version, I had read that thread on how to convert to international. That process worked perfectly, leaving me with this NEXT NXT-C900B133.
Did you follow the same path as me? (AL10 flashed to NXT-C900B133 flashed to NXT-L29C636B321)
You said: "You have to change region(called: debranding)". That's news to me, thanks. This is probably why every attempt to flash C900 with C436 hasn't worked. I'm going to look for the @somboons SRK Tool information now!

Mine was a NXT-L29C900B133 to start with, bought locally from an online shop. I had to debrand to C636 with @somboons SRK Tool which works great and then I just flashed straight over with dload method...My phone model now is NXT-L29C636B321 all locked and stock.
Just make sure you understand all the steps before you start. I spent 2 weeks reading @somboons threads before I did the deed...I come from years of Samsung so everything is a little strange to start off with.
What's your country code?
First you have to unlock bootloader
Second install TWRP
Third Root after debugging
Fourth flash new firmware
Then do a dload to lock
Country code? Currently the version is reported as C900 which is apparently Global.
Thank you for the steps involved, which don't look too complex when you list them. I've only achieved step one, but the rest look straightforward. The problem is knowing this stuff before you start! Cheers.

I want to install android 8 in huawei p10 lite but i cant i dont know why?

Good morning,
I have a Huawei p10 lite (WAS-LX1A) bought in Portugal. It is locked to my carrier (Vodafone).
My current model number is WAS-LX1AC02B139, and i know that the model number of this phone when unlocked is WAS-LX1AC432B...
I saw some videos in youtube and i noticed that there is android 8.0 beta version for this phone. But when i install Huawei beta app and i search for new projects, the app says that there are no project available. I tried to install firmware finder and I added the version WAS-LX1AC432 and it says that the software is not approved to my phone.
I am thinking that if i unlock my phone from my carrier, the software will be aproved and i will be able to install android 8.0.
Is my idea correct? Should i unlock my phone to be able to have WAS-LX1AC432B... and then install android 8.0.
If i am correct how do i do that? Should i just put the ''normal'' version of huawei p10 lite and it will work or should i do something else?
if my ideia is incorrect please tell me a solution.
Thank you

Hello,
this happened because you
choose that firmware...
you are very lucky you didn't bricked your device.
You could try to use Firmware Finder again
to revert back to your previous version,
but as i told, you could brick it,
that's your choice.
Another way is unlock the bootloader,
install a custom recovery (TWRP),
flash an OEMinfo file and your correct firmware.
It depends on the android version,

and if the device is single or dual sim.

You can try flash it with Service ROM Download . Type VNS-L31, or VNS- .
Download correct firmware - EMUI version, Cxxx (the bracketed (Cxxx) is your device’s regional variant.
This number is very important in determining the correct firmware to download. Select your previous Cxxx, not current C00 ) and single/dual SIM (all firmwares that end with even numbers are for dual SIM, odd numbers are for single SIM).
Instructions can be found in 'ReleaseDoc' folder.
If you cannot unpack downloaded zip archive on PC, unpack it in the internal memory using this RAR apk.
Extracted 'dload' folder copy/transfer to the SD card. Good luck.

P10 Lite (WAS-TL10) Stock ROM files

Hello all,
I'm looking for the stock rom (EMUI 5.0/Android 7.0) firmware files for my newly acquired P10 Lite (WAS-TL10).
Bought it at AliExpress, was supposed to ship with Android 7.0, but got Android 8.0 on it.
Unfortunately I need Android 7 for the sole purpose of verifying some Huawei allegations in which they pretend my app is not working properly with HMS Core version lower than 2.5.3! A version you can't find anywhere on any devices, but those Huawei phones running Android 7.0!
I say they pretend because they've made-up all kind of new rules for the past months to just prevent my apps from being published in China, as explained here: https://www.3c71.com/android/?q=node/2784
Any help would be much appreciated.

Try to downgrade to Nougat using Hisuite (official and safe way to do the downgrade). A7 firmware will not help you, there's no way downgrade (with locked bootloader) . Try chinese Hisuite :
https://mega.nz/file/1p9xyIRL#bx1M6zXqtrR38okQd4YqkYvmLfRaOBDJ2snjd8W7kqk
If the rollback option is not available with your HiSuite ("switch to the older version" or "Earlier version"), you must downgrade to the lower Oreo build version number doing the dload method (flashing Service ROM for your model and region).
Hi...
Like @-Alf- said you can try it this way. If it doesn't work for you. Search this forum for Service Rom to downgrade from emui 8 to emui 5. But be carefully by using any method. Make a full Backup of your System before doing any change. If you will downgrade to emui 5 for unlocking the bootloader. Better think about to use the Dc-unlocker for that. It will cost 4€ to get the unlock code. But its without risk to brick your device and it doesn't waste time to get it. You need to choose wat is more important for you.
So good luck

Thanks all, I was able to downgrade to EMUI 5.1, which allowed me testing very old HMS Core (2.5.2) somehow and its upgrade mechanism. Not sure I needed that device as it seems EMUI 5.1 didn't come with AppGallery at all, LOL.
Now I'd like to upgrade back to sell the device, but I haven't found a way to do so... Hi Suite tells me device is up-to-date, and OS system update tells me the same

I found a firmware, but it doesn't seem compatible ( Warsaw-TL10HK 8.0.0.371(C636)_Firmware_8.0.0_r1_EMUI8.0_05014HTC ) because upgrade says there is no update file on SD when I put the dload folder on it.
EDIT: That firmware contained zip files instead of .app, so I extracted the .app files and recreated the expected structure, and it processed the update using OS menu ( *#*#2846579#*#* ).
If any-one need the modified file, let me know.

After modifying the dload folder to have .app files (instead of .zip), the phone took the upgrade (editing previous post). New build number is WAS-TL10 8.0.0.371(C636).
I can now upgrade/downgrade between Android 7 and 8 for testing. That's pretty useful, so thanks to all.

WARSAW is the Name of the Phone...an p8 lite 2017 is called Prague or an Samsung S6 Edge is called zerolte
If you try to flash a firmware with another Region like C432 for Europa on a Device with C636 Asian Region...the verifying of the Update Package will not pass and update proceed will abort.
If you want to change the Region of the Device you need to use HWOTA Method for that...in the Script during configuration comes the Question to change firmware or to change location.
But be carefull by changing the Region cause the Devices for the different Regions could have different hardware integrate. Hardware like modem and so^^
OK thank you, i think modified firmware provided by 3c will work on my device as is has the same code of region c636 and the firmware flashed on my device is Asian pacific (c636)

Jfyi, the Huawei update server is down since February, so Firmware Finder is dead. Therefore, it is also not possible to use HwOTA or HuRupdater (unless someone has the necessary files stored on the disk).

Update P9 Lite from Android 6 to 7

Hello everyone, I have a P9 Lite which was issued from Vodafone Europe (originally VNS-L21C02B128), and I'd like to update it to Android 7.
Since none of the stock ROMs I tried would pass the verification when updating via the Project Menu, I found and flashed a newer Android 6 which works fine apparently - build number is currently VNS-L21C900B170.
Trouble is all of the newer ROMs are still not working. During the verification phase, it says they are not compatible with the phone.
Any ideas what is the simplest safest way to get to Android 7 ? Thanks for the help.

- Unlock the bootloader
- on android 6 rebrand to C432 global
- in TWRP install fullOTA-MF-PV VNS-L21C432B370
- then you can upgrade to a higher version by installing a Service ROM via dload method (it will lock your BL again).
The problem is probably with your current build number - the C900 is fake firmware, incomplete or incompatible. I'm afraid you won't be able to unlock the bootloader or rebrand the phone with this build.
Hello Alf, I did try VNS-L21C02B346 but it didn't work, both with the original and the newer ROM. I also tried the "SERVICE Full Repair VNS-L21 C432B381" from here, also with no luck.
The current B170 ROM was labeled as "VNS-L21C432B170" on the site I got it from, but now it shows as C900. This one updated with no problems via the Project Menu upgrade command, the only one to work so far...
I will see later about unlocking the bootloader thanks.

You can't install C432 on C02 and vice versa without changing oeminfo, that's why you now have a C900 region and failed verification.
Thanks but I don't know hot to change oeminfo. Can I use SRK Tool ?
Also is there a free way to unlock the bootloader ? Is it this one ?
Does the phone have to be dissasembled, or is there a software method as well ?
Is dc-unlocker free for phones with android 6 and 7 ?
