Hi I have international version of S5 G900F. I flashed the phone with UK BTU stock rom. Now the problem is I cannot connect to the Network.
I tried going to Settings->More Networks -> Network Operators -> Select automatically . It took 5-10 mins to search but cannot connect.
Sim is not locked as it was working before I flashed the stock rom. also I read somewhere in internet that once the phone is region unlocked, it is permanently unlocked to use any other country sim. I don't know the original region of my phone but I bought it in Uk from 3rd party dealer not from any carrier.
I can think of two thing at the moment. It should be either regional locked again, but it does not prompt any thing to activate or enter pin or anything like that. or it should be wrong modem.
Is there a way to find if the phone is region locked ?
and is there a way to find correct region of the phone ?
the label on the box was removed so I cannot find from the box as well.

first image shows NETWORK:UNBLOCKED and IMEI Certi: PASS
-> I think this means, the phone is not blocked by network, and IMEI certificate has passed so it's not stolen or lost claimed phone.
another screenshot is the Firmware and CSC code/country information,
-> this means, this phone is build to sell in UK, so UK sim should unlock the regional lock.
Also the phone was working fine before I installed stock rom which I dowloaded from sammobile.
in the sceenshot, one of the network is connected but it says emergency call only because it cannot register to the network.
It is not sim lock also, because when I put T-mobile sim it does not ask for pin to unlock also.
what is wrong here. any idea guys? xda supposed to be the biggest android forum and samsung s5 is one of the most popular phone at the moment, isn't there anyone who have similar problem and solved? or atleast give some reason this cannot be fixed at all.
does the TMobile sim work? does it register with the network? If yes, then call the provider (of the other sim) and ask what's going on. Maybe you have a broken sim?

I've tried with Orange sim, and it still cannot register to the network. When I put the orange sim, it pop up a dialogbox asking to choose a network provider, there was two options, T-mobile and orange. So it is detecting the sim, but it cannot register.
And also, I tried my sim in another phone, and my sim works in another phone without any problem.
Did you try to flash the firmware again, and then after that restore factory defaults?

Yes I did, still it didn't work. I emailed samsung customer service with the problem, and they asked me to restore factory defaults.
I did that again but didn't work.
I tried one custom ROM as well. same problem in that rom.
You're rooted? If yes then there might be problem with the modem part of the ROM, can you install the official one part ROM and try with that?

I've installed stock rom several times, and several different versions( from here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=SM-G900F&pcode=0 ). Rooted several times, installed modem.bin files several times from many custom rom/ stock rom. None of them worked. I tried installing modem.bin when not rooted as well. And all the attempt failed.
I did everything I could possibly think of , Then I posted the question in the forum.
You have the IMEI ??!? Or it is lost?? Then only per efs-backup…
Or sim is broken…

I have imei , and sim is working fine, as I tested my sim in another phone.

I'm having the same problem, but with G900H. I have stock firmware, rooted and everything's working fine until suddenly, I have no network. I restart the phone and get network again but only for a couple of minutes.

Sry XanoZuke, I could not do anything to fix this, so I returned the phone and got another handset. I now have Exynos Octa-core version. Found snapdragon version is more power efficient. My phone gets heated very quickly.

Don't worry, I found out that the motherboard was water damaged (the irony of life....), so a bought an LG G3.
Regarding the Exynos chip, I'm never buying anything exynos ever again. The performance is not as solid as Snapdragon and it gets heated really fast. Still, thanks for your reply! ?

So sad case remain unsolved, Got almost the same issue, Flashed 1st and last official firmware and custom rom without success NO NETWORK SIGNAL. No IMEI - Null regitered 15 zeros no efs backup etc.

My g900f has no mobile services sims fine
I have the same problem.
Cannot connect to network after flashing new ROM. Since then I tried about 10 different original roms and couple custom roms. Number of different MODEMs and BOOTLOADERs but with no joy. SIM card works fine in different phone.
Also I tried to load different CERT files and QCN with Z3X Box but that didn't help either.
I've tried *#0011# command here are results:
with LTE/WCDMA/GSM auto-connect:

Yes it is possible with lots of searching and hacking. It is way easier to do permanent SIM unlock procedure and easier than that, use a custom ROM. See link:

Here's my knowledge from the conversion. I could follow the steps in that post but the phone never really worked right. The steps to make the phone work on GSM carriers caused menus to disappear from within the phone, such as ability to change APNs. It works but there's a better way.
I flashed an AOSP ROM to my phone. Shameless plug here for LiquidSmooth beta, I've had the least problems getting a working phone with that ROM, actually works out of the box. While on AOSP, I can replace my Sprint LTE SIM with that of another carrier, reboot the phone and then go to the *#*#4636#*#* menu and change radio mode to GSM. I'm using an AT&T SIM now, domestic even and can SMS, MMS and have HSPA+ data, no LTE. If for some silly reason I want to switch back to Sprint, just swap SIM card, reboot phone, change radio mode in the hidden menu. Simple.

Thank you very much mate :highfive: ! but actually what i want is to have D802 (Stock) firmware on LS980. because D802 is getting updates so quickly. ( Knock Code) i searched for a way to convert but i couldn't find it. can you guys please tell me is it even possible? because both devices are have same hardware except the LTE band! looking forward for your advice. thank you! :good:
I know it's possible. I read once what has to be done. There's some trickery that has to be done in the build.prop which makes the phone think it's another model which would allow the flash. All I can say is search. It is on the XDA forum. The term used was CID change. Found a ton in 2 minutes all related to HTC One on Google, finding the G2 should be easy enough with search.
Once time converted, the frequencies GSM 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS 850/900/1900/2100 (3G), LTE 800/900/1800/2100/2600 (4G) it work or not?

Simple answer is "No" . because frequencies are hardware things. we can only change softwares. LS980 will not have D802's frequencies by anyway.

Yes there is a way to do it but I don't know, me too I'm searching for this solution, because I bought a used LS980, and when I plugged it into PC the LG Support tool ask me if I want to upgrade the software of the phone (Into Lollipop) and the actual version at that time was D80230e, I let the authorized the LG Tool to download the update, and when finished, everything goes wrong the phone became unusable, when I push in a zone it react in another, and it was really hard to achieve the first steps of the configuration, when finished I decided to open the phone and look at the motherboard and bingo I found that it's an LS980, then I downloaded the LS980 firmware, I flashed it, and everything became OK, except the lost IMEI, then I tried to resotre the EFS backup that I done before that I upgrade it with LG Tool, and then the phone stay on the LG logo...Right now my phone is out of service, I use it as camera and nothing else...I'm searching for solution every time but I found anything...Is there any solution ?
What about changing motherboard only, will that work ?

You can't do it because there is difference between connectors of screen and mother board

On order to restore your IMEI you've just to flash your phone with the ZVD version and let the OTA updates install,then you'll recover your IMEI, but if you flash again with the ZVD you will lose it again

please sir i really need your help i can't get my lg g2 d802 32gb back i rooted it and everything was working fine when i try to flash twrp that was were it break my phone it stuck on (fastboot mode started) i used BoardDiag to unbreak it, now i can get download mode working but am a bit confused when i open battery cover i see (Ls980) but model number is d802. i tried about 2 to 3 kdz but the touch screen was not working i also try (LS980ZVE_03.51102.tot) touch screen was working perfect but sim was not reading. please sir help me i don't know what to do thanks in advance

As you can read in the tittle, my problem is that I don't have 4G/LTE I get 3G+/3G or HSPA+/HSPA.
Right I'm running Lollipop with the custom ROM, BlissPop with B14ckB1rd Kernel. I tried other ROMs (CM, RR, Paranoid) but I don't get 4G in neither of them.
I lost my 4G a quite ago, don't remember exactly how but I can imagine it was when I tried those early Lollipop builds, after that I went back to KitKat and the 4G was gone, even I tried going to full stock but neither that work.
I'm sure is a phone problem because I been with 2 different carriers and couldn't get 4G. The SIM card is brand new and today I spent around 2 hours talking with the Tech Support of my carrier checking everything is all right.
I also tried to change the Baseband/Modem/Radio (Right now I have Cloudyfa KK for the D802).
This might be also helpful for guess what could be the problem, when I dial *#*#4636#*#* go this phone information, down to prefer network type and select LTE only I lose service, by the way, in that configuration I have selected LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL) and USA radio band.
I'm open for all kind of suggestions, If you need more information don't doubt in asking me.: fingers-crossed:

It happened to me with stock lollipop v30d vodafone ITA with another carrier sim (TIM). Solved after flashing v30a open ITA kdz.

No luck, I installed the V30a Italian version as you suggested but as you can in the screenshots no 4G at all, when I try to force LTE (This time with the command 3845#*802#) is lose service like in my last ROM, so I'm almost sure is hardware and not software.
Can some confirm me that, cause when you go back to stock by a kdz or how ever their is not residual imformation, every thing is fully clean right? Or some firmware just stay for ever?
If you guys have more suggestions that could try before I send it to somewhere for get it repair.
I was tinkering with my new T-Mobile LG Leon LTE (MODEL NO : LG-H345) and broke the cellular service (installed Xposed for Lollipop and com.android.phone keeps stopping, tried Fix Permissions, doesn't work). Does anyone here have a Leon LTE or just have the stock ROM laying around? I've got TWRP installed, so that's not a problem.

This links to H345 not MS345, IT'S NOT METRO FIRMWARE. The person who asked needed T-Mobile so they probably ran into no problem, but notice the file name on mega download. Thanks though, have you flashed HH firmware on MS devices? Does it work, what differences are there?

It is for Metro, I test it , wel there are some difference like you have Voice calls via Wi-fi, the notification bar have small changes too , but not a big deal and it's android 5.1.1 . For me Signal wasn't working cause i'm at Greece

no it's for T-Mobile, i flashed it and it's got tmobile boot and apps, but a locked boatloader that won't allow me to install twrp, so wheres the " i knew what i was talking about " button? oh thanks, ive now got a basic not really supported T-Mobile device. A little misinformation and lack of due diligence just took the fun out of owning this device.

it is a big deal, i just flashed it and ended up with aa T mobile device. Your in Greece, I'm sure there's more important things to focus on for you, and i did take my own risks, but thanks anyway.
As i search to unlock your bootloader it's a simply option in developer options.

I have sound and picture but dots above it (they are moving also the picture is moving and sound is ok). sound is ok when move rockers. also voice assistance works (jump to 2:14 on the video) (a women tells me what to do I guess it's the accessibility wizard). touchscreen works I can choose things if I see or guess where they are. etc. etc. etc.

than used twrp 3.0.2-1-us996 to install both new rom (used this one """Stock LS997 rom. for Sprint users only. (Fix's numerous problems)"") and supersu (SuperSU-v2.79-20161211114519) both from the sd card.
all fine and troubleless. all done as instructed.
any tips how to proceed fix that screen thanks. I haven't re-do anything. This is my 1st attempt following instructions. Don't wanna mess up and wait for advice what to do before act.
Niki B. This is perfectly normal. Shut the screen off by tapping the power button on back. Set phone face down to block the sensor next to the front facing camera for a few seconds and you should be good to go.

Go to settings.. System updates...Update profile
Sprint devices are working fine.
Looks like ur running it with a non sprint sim?
If so this wont help. Good luck.

yes I do want to use it with non-sprint sim as I switched carriers lately. yes update profile won't help me with non-sprint sim I tried. should I try different rom or sim-unlocking is not due to the rom ? I'm not from the lucky ones that dirty santa sim unlocked their ls997 sprints. where can I ask for help, I do want to donate because I do highly appreciate all that xda and big devs around do for us. :good:

Aokp is one you can do..
Or try flashing the rom for x carrier.
Flash the tmobile rom and set your apns.
I know us996 roms work on our devices.. It was what we had at 1st. If not youll need to add apns manualy using shortcut master lite.. And change from cdma/lte to gsm or whatever you are using.

Flash the tmobile rom and set your apns.
I know us996 roms work on our devices.. It was what we had at 1st. If not youll need to add apns manualy using shortcut master lite.. And change from cdma/lte to gsm or whatever you are using.

I must edit myself - v20 ls997 users with US996 Deodexed ROM reported sim unlock just as you said correctly, not my current runing stock 997 cleaned sprint rom.
since I'm rooted all I need to do now is twrp flash the new rom (first copy pasted to my sdcard) than flash supersu (just in case) that's that nothing new or added

Essentially yes.
Most roms come with root ao the su zip may not be needed. But its universal ao just save it as it will root any software you have on ur v20.
Download the stock rooted deodexed us996 rom and flash it from your sd card. Clean install recommended.
And wait for it to boot up. It should be setup for the gsm service's. If not you'd be trying to set all the gsm stuff manually in the sprint rom and probably wont be nearly as easy.

Went for aokp (choosed ls997 from list, but after install in settings tools it says ls996 this does not matter for me). Sim-unlocked, also 100% of the bloatware and sprint boot logo etc. etc. are all gone. Clean as baby. I'm very very happy man. Thank you very much. I will donate both aokp (from the provided link in their thread) and xda team in separate transaction to show my gratefulness :good:
