Google play services using excessive data - Moto G7 Questions & Answers

I recently got a moto g7 and lately Google play services has used tons of data and I have no idea why. I have disabled background data use, but it seems to do nothing. I did go on a trip to a place with no wifi, but even back home it uses data. Is there any way to stop/fix this?

[Q] Google Services using 75% + of battery in a day

Does anyone know exactly how to diagnose Google Services running down my battery? I've tried disabling individual bits and pieces that seem related, but whenever I check OS Monitor there doesn't seem to be any single culprit, yet my battery continues to plummet.... Also, the Gallery app goes nuts from time to time and hammers the CPU, even when it hasn't been run. Logs suggest some kind of face scanning going on, despite it being disabled in the apps settings. Only work around for that it seems is disabling Gallery, or manually killing the process whenever it respawns.
I've used the same Google account and the same data on an S2 and a Note 2 with no issues from Google Services, but since day one with the S4 it's a problem. Yes, I've tried a factory reset etc etc, I'm not a complete n00b

Can't turn off Wi-Fi / Can't stop Google Framework from using loads of data

Hi All,
I have tried everything from switching location off, keeping wifi scanning always available off and ofcourse, keeping wifi toggle off. But can't seem to turn off wifi. It keeps on draining battery.
Additionally, off lately, google framework has been utilizing insane amounts of data and battery. Have cleared data for Google Framework and Google Search (based on feedback on another thread) and restricted background data (but cant practically keep that for forever).
I am running a rooted stock lollipop 5.0.1 and have done a clean flash of 5.0.1 ROM. I never faced any issues on 5.0.0
Is anyone facing a similar problem? Anyone with any solutions for the two issues?

Google play services is keeping galaxy s8 wake

the battery life is decreasing while the screen is off because of the google play services it is causing like 5+ hours of keep awake i dont know why i dont use location services and my sync is turned off .
if you have any advice please enlighten us .
I had the same exact issue, Google Play Services was killing my battery, and nothing seemed to help. I ended up installing version 11.0.33 beta from APK Mirror, and it seems to have worked, battery life is back to where it should be. I have sync turned on and location services on too, and no issues.
It's been about a week and a half since I installed that version. I hope that helps.
well it is weird sometimes doing a simple restart helps sometime you have to wipe the cache and data of google play services

Google Apps causing wakelock?

I think that some of my Google apps may be causing wakelock, specifically Maps and Google App or Google Play Services itself.
Now how I was able to isolate this is I initially have Maps disabled, and then enabled it this one time because I needed to look up something, and then after just after a few hours, my phone suddenly drains like crazy while idle and I've noticed on the usage that Android OS and Android System is eating up a LOT of battery.
So I got that out of my system when I tried to disable again and wipe cache recovery. Now my phone is currently working fine, and then I've decided to update Google App (which I never have done since I got my phone) so I can get assistant. Same thing happened a few hours.
I'm on a non-rooted Huawei P9 lite on B361.
Anyone?
