Do not disturb/Silent schedule + favorite contacts only - Redmi K20 / Xiaomi Mi 9T Questions & Answers

Maybe an easy question but since I'm new to MIUI, I already found out how to set a timer to put on silent in the middle of the night, but I still want my favorite contacts to be able to call me and that the sounds and vibration come through from those contacts.
Any help?

Stock sms app

Hi is it possible to turn off, automatic screen on whe message arrives?
Mine doesn't do that. Verizon version.
If you like hangouts by google, install it and it will take over sms.
my stock lg messaging app never pops up any more.

Mine either after notification bar mods. Hangouts is broken for MMS atm. It's using its own apn file with bad data. I had to remove it to make it default to stock apn. I uploaded one in a thread and only one tester used it, would crash on his Sprint for some unknown reason.

[DISCUSSION] Priority mode settings

Hello all.
I'm coming from Paranoid Android back to stock 5.1.1 and I notice one major difference between PA and stock.
On PA I would set up the device to allow messages and calls to interrupt in priority mode from star marked contacts only. I would then allow Hangouts to make notifications even in priority mode.
Calls and SMS/MMS would only make a sound if they were from a star marked contact.
On stock ROM this is different. If I allow only star marked contacts to interrupt in priority mode, only calls from star marked contacts will start the ringer - but when I receive SMS/MMS they are silent. I then allow stock texting app to interrupt in priority mode - but now ALL incoming texts and MMS messages starts the notification sound.
Am I not setting it up right, or do you guys have the same problem?

Hvilsted/LosserKlosser

Nobody knows about this?

Sony Denmark says that this is a known issue and an update will fix it. No time estimate, though.

It is *ridiculous* that no one of the +200 viewers of this thread will take the time to confirm or deny that they have this issue. Instead I'm just chatting with myself.

Dear LosserKlosser,
I am one of the 200+ viewers, but has not installed any Lollipop ROMs yet. I am just collecting information about what kind of extra bugs it introduced and whether I should install Lollipop as it is stable enough to run on my daily phone.
Peace.
Is this issue still unsolved?

I set up scheduled silent mode (priority mode as you said) and i allow calls and messages from star contacts only. When i receive calls and messages from them there are notification sounds
So maybe you set up something wrong

WhatsApp Queue Bug with Goolge Now and Smartwatch Android Wear

Hello to all! I found an unpleasant WhatsApp bug I notice in versions 2.16.13, 2.16.53 and 2.16.54 beta, i don't know if it also happens in other previous versions
and if it happens to others. Using Google Now to send a whatsapp message, is shown correctly on whatsapp but not sent, remains in the "queue" with the clock icon but if you open the application of whatsapp or you get a message from someone at that point is sent, this does not always happen but it happens especially after a few minutes for whatsapp is not opened / used, it seems that the application goes into standby output. Unfortunately this problem limits also the use of whatsapp on a smartwatch Android wear because the response to notifications happens through the voice service of google now.
I own an HTC One M7 with Android 5.0.2 I don't have any application that limits the data in the background or some active "sleep mode". Can you help me? Thank you!
Did you resolve your problem? I got this too. LG urbane 2 paired with sgs6

[Question] Whatsapp overriding Do Not Disturb

Hi,
I'm facing a problem. I've setup my phone's DND perfectly but Whatsapp seems to override this config. and any message/call starts ringing...
It's really annoying... anyone has a workaround or a solution to this?
Thanks!
PS: I'm running 7.0 stock rom (non-rooted)

Nope, it's exactly like that but Whatsapp keeps overriding the DND Setup, that's why I'm asking here.

I know how to access DND settings, that's not the probem.
I'm saying whatsapp doesn't care how you configure it, it overrides DND config. and rings anyway.

I know but whatsapp can't ignore it unless you approved it dnd doesn't allow it... so you will have to find where it is allowed to ring
Did anyone ever find a solution for this?
I think this is not device specific cos it happens on my lady's Mi5 and my Zuk Z2 as well.
Whatsapp popups keep popping up even if DND is enabled.
Has anyone found fix for this. It's same issue in my OPO3T ?
I have the same problem: WA was quiet for the last month. Couple of days before it starts to ignore the dnd-mode.
I have the same issue on my Pixel XL. No exceptions to DND except alarms. Whatsapp routinely chimes anyway in the earl early morning.
So far I couldn't find a workaround unless I select the option to just allow alarms (no calls, no sms, absolutely nothing).
It's really frustratung because I just want to silences whatsapp and e-mails and whatsapp with any customized way of DND it overrides it and keeps sounding

Went back to WhatsApp Stable 2.17.323 and the problems are gone.
I'm having the same issue... Note 8 running Nougat 7.0 and latest whatsapp as of February 13, 2018.
Any ideas?
I started a help ticket with Whatsapp. They weren't helpful. They said that they've never heard reports of the problem. They asked me to send them a video replicating the problem. I told them that I'd have to wait up all night awaiting a possible whatsapp text that would break the Do Not Disturb rule. They said without a video, there was nothing that they could do.
For anyone who is still interested in a solution for this, I came up with something, just select Messages "None" over in priority settings menu. It's the only thing I could come up with to fix this
I've done that already in the Do Not Disturb settings. It doesn't help.
I've consistently had this issue for the entire time I've owned my Pixel (1st Gen)
I started having same issue with Pixel XL on Android P. What's app calls ring no matter what. Any ideas?
use this http://www.gbmods.co

any solution?

Notifications disappearing

I've noticed recently that when I receive a notification it will disappear after a short amount of time. It only seems to happen when the phone is idle and not being used. Specifically, I saw a bleacher report notification pop up and maybe 20 seconds later I picked up phone and the notification was gone. Anyone seeing the same issues?
Also experiencing this issue. No developer settings and no apps installed to controll this. Issue is for all notifications...
Yes! I thought I was going crazy and messed up something with the kernels I've tried, as I've been missing notifications too. BBM (despite the Connected icon being up top), Facebook Messenger are the two I've specifically seen

I don't know if it's a code 22, but I have the same ''issue''. Calendar notification will desappear after few minutes. And most of the time, those notification are reminder that I need to remind, lol.
Mine kept happening. I was actually using the phone and a Facebook notification came in and I was busy in Reddit or something. Well 30 seconds or so later the notification was gone.
I've since factory reset and everything seems to be normal. Hasn't been 24 hours yet though.
I too am having the same issues with most of my apps. Some more than others, but I notice it most with Hangouts, Twitter, Android Pay, and some games. I'm wondering if its a bug and how would be the best way to report it.
Have you set on setting "Advanced battery optimization"?
Did you try to set up some application to "Do not optimize" in battery optimization?
I spotted the same behavior and tried out the second settings, I haven't sighted this again but I tried this only for one day.
