[ROM][GT-I9295][UnOfficial][9.0.0] LineageOS 16.0 for S4 Active - Galaxy S 4 Active Android Development

Replaced with official builds.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 9.0 (Pie), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.
*
*/
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Gerrit Code Review. Your changelog is whatever was merged into gerrit.
LineageOS 16.0 Install Guide
Note: LineageOS for Galaxy S4 Active is provided with no warranty. You are installing this software at your own risk. You may be violating your warranty.
Download LineageOS and gapps zips and put in /sdcard
Latest build: http://www.mediafire.com/file/nxgfl6b9z545ql2/lineage-16.0-20190723-UNOFFICIAL-jactivelte.zip/file
Builds Archive
Google Apps (MindTheGapps is recommended. Pick ARM, not ARM64)
Before you install LineageOS: Preparation (Optional. If you want to start fresh, these can be skipped)
Install Easy Backup & Restore from Market, run it and backup your stuff.
Boot into recovery. Make a full backup. You will need this backup later if you decide to go back to your previous ROM and data.
I suggest using this TWRP: http://www.mediafire.com/file/18vo85kssa8caqq/twrp-3.2.3-0-jactivelte.img.tar.md5/file
WARNING: Many apps will Force Close crash if you restore data from a previous ROM.
Install
Boot into recovery.
Wipe data and cache.
Flash lineage-16*.zip.
Flash gapps*.zip.
Reboot phone.
After you setup your Google account, reinstall Easy Backup & Restore from Market in order to restore most of your apps, call log and SMS history.
Warning: Do not restore backup data of system apps!
If you restore a bad backup with cached settings in telephony.db in data/data/com.*.*.telephony it can break MMS.
It seems that restoring backups can also break Calendar sync.
Upgrades
Upgrades from previous builds of LineageOS 16.0 are the same process as install, except you do not need to wipe anything. Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to even wipe cache and dalvik-cache when upgrading between LineageOS 16.0 versions. You only need to wipe if you are doing a major upgrade, switching to a different ROM entirely, or attempting to fix bugs caused by bad backups or corrupt app data.

No problems with wifi on first boot here. Also dialer code works fine here.
May I ask what gapps you used? If you used OpenGapps, I don't recommend any other packages than pico or nano. OpenGapps are known for replacing critical system files in Lineage with their own, thus causing all sorts of issues. That's why I stick with MindTheGapps personally.

I used pico gapps, wifi and sim problem aside, everything is working fine on the phone.

I've installed it today without gapps - everything is working fine, but sometimes I encount freezes of systemUI, and if I try to mod anything in system folder or to clear the system with SDMaid then sometime Wi-Fi (sometimes Bluetooth or mobile internet) do not launch. This bugs fixes with the phone reboot.
Also "Led notifications" for apps (even stok one, such as messaging or missed phones) do not work, but work for battery.
But, however, thanks a lot for this android!
I wonder what is SisUI in the quick settings, can anyone explain it?
PS: sorry for my English a lot.

Looks to be related to debugging, so not something a normal user should be concerned with.

@arco68
Could you test:
1. Audio Mod from @wilsonhlacerda that improves speaker and mic, more info:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79522919&postcount=798
And maybe you can even use it to replace default file ()when building new releases? (example: mixer_paths-LOS2019-IncreaseDualSpk_IncreaseBothMic_Fix-byWilsonhlacerda.xml)
2. whether there is a bug with bluetooth (when you turn it on you call log will be cleared) observed in earlier versions of LineageOS sources (14.1)
thanks in advance

No, there are no such bugs.
The only one i found is with microphones on loud speaker during call.

Hi @arco68 thanks for this new updated LOS for our devices!
Good to see you building it! I already know your good work to S4 Mini (my girlfriend's backup device; thanks!) and thus I also know how good you can contribute to S4 Active community.
I myself have an S4 Active I9295 as my daily device (currently with LOS14.1, thanks to @_JaSoN_ and @tsvetkov_vlad and old developers of it) and sure I'll try your LOS16 now!
By the way, my girlfriend main device is also an I9295 but unfortunately last week it started to fail SIM phone calls audio (I did some tests and it seems the audio hardware is dead....thru bluetooth audio works fine). Then she is currently using the I9192 with your LOS16 for SIM calls.

I've just seen that you suggest to use your own (really yours?) TWRP v3.2.3 on OP. Why it and not the official TWRP v3.3.1? Or even the official v3.2.3?
Have you detected any problems with v3.3.x? Or with official TWRP in general?

Hi, just re-flashed this rom cause of SMS not working and unfortunately something happened weird.
Reddit, Twitter and other apps including XDA Labs doesn't let me sign in and doesn't sync i think? Both twitter and reddit works on my TB3-850M while my I9295 doesn't, i did a restore of my stock rom and both apps let me in and refresh the feed.On my first install of this ROM everything works fine except for SMS, i've been doing re-flashes and wipes all over again however the problem doesn't persist, I hope someone helps me on this matter.

If it wasn't for the Mobile Data not working it would be my daily driver, can't live without mobile data though.
Nice Rom either way.
EDIT: When you just manually select your Service provider, Mobile data does work.

One way to sidestep losing mobile network connection (for me) is putting the phone into flightmode before rebooting, but if you forget putting the phone into flightmode once, you're screwed (then only factory defaults will restore the lost mobile network connection). Definitely not a daily driver yet...

Actually for me if e forget it and lose network connection, I just need to reboot with airplane mode on and it will reconnect again. If the first reboot doesn't work try again the same process, at least for I just maxed at the third try to reconnect

That didn't work for me yet. I noticed the ril-daemon (Radio interface layer) is very, very, finicky. Sometimes it reads the simcard, sometimes it doesnt. I have found that if I restart the ril-daemon after I have lost mobile connection due to reboot, it will come back after a few seconds with this command (from terminal or adb shell):
setprop ctl.restart ril-daemon
this does not work all the time however (just like with your reboots, sometimes it takes a couple of times)
somehow stopping the daemon, waiting 2 seconds, and then starting the daemon again works a little better in my case:
setprop ctl.stop ril-daemon; sleep 2; setprop ctl.start ril-daemon

you most probably will have to wipe to factory defaults after flashing cm12 (beware: this will delete all apps & settings). also you will have to flash a different gapps package:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/gapps-google-apps-minimal-edition-t2943330
ps: I edited my previous message to include a new wuxianlin build
The rom 5.02 for oppo find 5 is not fix wifi, and some time lag.

Thanks harryharryharry!
I have now loaded my Find 5 (16GB) with cm-12-20141221-UNOFFICIAL-find5.zip and it works very well.
Used the gapps package gapps-lp-20141109-signed.zip and found that the data partition of 2GB is really too small. So i have rearranged the partitions so that the data partition is now 3GB. Used the process described http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2608337&page=4. This increases the data partition to 4GB, I will post my procedure in that thread.
After the resizing I experienced that the battery ran out very quickly. Maybe because the phone has to 'learn' how to handle the battery?
Anyway: great work of wuxianlin. I hope that this will be the precursor of the official CM12 for Find 5!
Having issues with Bluetooth (audio streaming crackling and volume being too much loud after a couple of steps) , can't transfert app to SD "no free memory left" and I haven't changed the partition table yet, is it recommended to do it or wait for a fix if there is?

Tried the release dated 20160912. Am using twrp 2.8.0.0.
Flashing just your ROM, things looked pretty good, but got energetic and tried both the pico and nano opengapps.
After installing either of the opengapps zips, the aosp keyboard was so unstable that I could not do any typing.
On my attempt to install ROM and pico gapps at the same time, I got stuck in a boot loop after becoming frustrated with the keyboard issue. Installing ROM rebooting and then going back into recovery, installing gapps and then rebooting, the keyboard failed but so subsequent boot loop.
Still things look promising, please keep up the good work.
If there is anything specific I can do that would provide you with useful information, please let me know.

My apologies, I can not correct this ATM but I will as soon as I can...
Thanks for the modified open gapps. Sorry for the trouble I caused.
I'll play around with trying to get the play store added to your release, as soon as my phone recharges. In trying the release, it seemed pretty good, but possibly a bit slow. Your 5.1 version is really very good indeed, fast and with excellent battery life. Please keep up the good work.
Hope I didn't quote things this time.

I finally had an opportunity to try this alpha build on my SGH-T599N. I used the "cm-13.0-20160912-METICULUS-codinalte.zip" version with the fix-mtp patch.
In general the Meticulus CyanogenMod 13 ROM seemed to function better in speed performance than the Meticulus Carbon LP 5.1.1 ROM for the devices. This was expected and is normal for Android 6.0.1 in relation to Android 5.1.1.
I did find some bugs/issues that do not appear to have been previously mentioned. Those are:
Severe Issues:
At least 3G cellular data does not work. I did not test 2G data. A T-Mobile account with unlimited data (of all classes) was used to test.
Formatting SDCard (maybe also other volumes or attached storage?) fails and corrupts SDCard data. (Fails after displaying 20% progress) The SDCard is also not recognized until reboot (UNTESTED: or maybe reinsertion of SDCard)
Attempting to format SD Card as portable storage via the Settings App ( Storage & USB --> [Clicking o SD Card to Browse SD Card] --> [Invoke Pop-up menu] --> Settings --> Format --> ERASE & FORMAT ) fails partway and returns an error. See attached "Screenshot_Format_SDCard_Failure_Portable_Storage.png" picture for error message.
Attempting to format SD Card as internal storage storage (adopting the storage) via the Settings App ( Storage & USB --> [Clicking o SD Card to Browse SD Card] --> [Invoke Pop-up menu] --> Settings --> Format as internal --> ERASE & FORMAT ) fails partway and returns an error. There is a long delay at 20% progress before failure error is returned. See attached "Screenshot_Format_SDCard_Failure_As_Internal_Storage.png" picture for error message.
Other Important Issues:
Clicking the Back arrow in the Material Design navigation in the "Performance" category of the Settings options results in "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped" (see attached "Screenshot_Crash_Settings_Performance.png" picture for illustration). Using the hardware back button does not result in an error.
"Select USB Configuration" in "Developer options" state resets to "Charging" after reboot. Also, although the USB configuration status may have reset to Charging after reboot, MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) is always used on boot, regardless as to what the "Select USB Configuration" option was previously set to prior to boot.
SELinux not Enforced
Lesser Issues:
Manually Scanning for network operators results in integer numbers provided rather than network names.
SD bug
Hello, i flashed this ROM and dint noticed that i need to format to install apps to the SD card (does not work), this is a big issue since the internal storage is low, ¿there is a a workaround for this? if not, I'll be back to carbon 5.1.1
[edit] how hard in to fix these bugs? (accelerometer stops working, 3G doesn't work, unstable wi-fi, etc) i do not know Java but C++, i really want this rom to be more usable, the os is super fluid compared to 4.1.2 and the UI is beautiful
the website dose not work enymore, can some fix it please?

Hi everyone.
I know a bunch of you have been waiting for this. Somehow I came across this ROM download but not the original thread (please pm me if you find is, as proper credit should be granted). Keep in mind I am no dev, just an enthusiast user. I simply wanted to share this on XDA.
Anyway, here it is:
Unofficial CyanogenMod 14.1 for Oppo Find 5 by Wuxianlin
What works:
WiFi
GPS
Data
Bluetooth
NFC
Camera
Video camera
Pretty much everything else
What doesn't work:
Probably lots of minor CM 14.1 related bugs.
You tell me!
Download:
androidfilehost.com
Installation instructions for LVM:
[Warning]This installation type is not recommended for new or inexperienced users that dont know what they are doing. However, I do highly recommend using LVM for any Android version > 6.0 simply because apps require more storage due to the updated runtime.
Make sure your phone is charged above 50% or connect it to a power source.
Backup EVERYTHING to your PC, all phone storage will be formatted.
Download and install a modified LVM capable recovery by Wuxianlin with fastboot or any tool that you like (fastboot command: "fastboot flash recovery find5-twrp-recovery-2.8.6.0-en-lvm.img")
Both TWRP versions, 2.8.6.0 or 2.8.7.0, should work.
Download TWRP 2.8.6.0 LVM
Download TWRP 2.8.7.0 LVM F2S
Full wipe. Wipe Dalvik cache, system, data, internal storage, cache. (Do NOT wipe raw_data or raw_sd!)
From the TWRP main screen, go to: Advanced => LVM Partition => Click Merge Partition => Swipe to switch partition. (WARNING! This will completely wipe your phone's data partitions, there is no way back)
Reboot recovery
Installation instructions for ROM as LVM type installation:
Full wipe again. Wipe Dalvik cache, system, data, cache, Android secure.
Download latest gapps from http://opengapps.org.
Download latest cm-14.1-xxxxxxxx-UNOFFICIAL-find5.zip or similar from https://www.androidfilehost.com
Download cm-13.0-find5-lvm-patch.zip from here. This removes the "SD card corrupted" error message.
From the TWRP main screen, go to: Mount => Mount USB storage. (Or you can use TWRP sidelaod function to install the ROM)
Copy cm-14.1-xxxxxxxx-UNOFFICIAL-find5.zip , gapps, and lvm-patch to your phone.
Unmount
Install ROM, gapps and patch. In the mentioned order.
Reboot
Enjoy CM 14.1 on you Oppo Find 5!
Report your experiences/problems/tips etc. here
Installation instructions for regular installation:
NOTE: I haven't tested this, but it will probably work fine.
All steps from "Installation instructions for ROM as LVM type installation" but skip "cm-13.0-find5-lvm-patch.zip" download and installation.

Downloading. Thank you.
So, i flashed the rom. Been using this for a day already.
Difficulties I faced:
1. Losing signal oftenly and sim car lock-out's (propably something wrong with my phone, or maybe it is software thing. If anyone know how to fix this, please don't be shy )
2. Random reboots.
3. Freezes when taking photos using instagram.
I'm not using LVM either.
Thanks for linking to this ROM !
My Find5 has been on jejecule's crDroid (Android 6.0.1) with LVM enabled sofar.
I was not expecting an Android 7 build anymore since few developers/builders use this phone.
So I tried a dirty flash from crDroid to this ROM (no harm trying, can always do a clean flash later) and lo-and-behold that worked out fine !
I have just been testing to see what works, I found no show-stoppers yet.
Thanks !
Hotspot Portable Error
I Turn On but Problem...no connect in PC and all device
please fix
Great rom
I have ,no problems at all!
Build from 17-12 dramatically improved stability for me. No more random reboots since then. I'm not experiencing any major issues myself using LVM. Can confirm hotspot doesn't work, not an issue for me though. New daily ROM
Verstuurd vanaf mijn Find 5 met Tapatalk
i've installed latest cm 14.1 on my oppo find 5 and everything is working really fine except the microphone.
mic only works in telephone app so that phone calls are possible but it doesn't work in any
other app like voice record, google search, chrome, ...
i've already tested different language settings and permission settings but without success...
...any ideas?
Thnks for ROM, I install 17.12 rom with LVM and I want ro report some problems:
1. Microphone does not work in apps, only in phone
2. File manager can't modify files in root (hosts for example). I switch on root acess for apps in developer options and in FileManager settiongs. May be I need to do somthing else?
3. Live display (switching color temperature and manual adjusting of colors) does not work.
4. USB tethering and portable hotspot does not work too.

Looks like Wuxianlin has released a new build ('lineage-14.1-20161230-UNOFFICIAL-find5.zip'). :good:
Anyone tried this yet to confirm if the problems Andre has noted have been resolved? (Hopefully it's not simply a CM to Linage rebrand release.)

Installed the 1230 build. It's mostly a rebrand. Most CM strings haven't even been removed yet lol.

Dear members,
I am using the January 26 2017 (1250) build and experience 'random' reboots. Mostly when I use the camera. To get Nougat running again most of the times I have to start TWRP en choose reboot system. I really hope this gets fixed.

How to install Root for Apps on Android Nougat Custom Rom
Download and transfer the Lineage SU addon zip file from the download link above to your device’s storage.
Boot your device into TWRP recovery.
Tap on Install and select the Lineage SU addon zip file that you transferred to your device in Step 1.
After selecting the .zip file, do Swipe to Confirm Flash on the bottom of screen to begin the flashing process.
Once Lineage SU addon is flashed, you’ll get Reboot System option, select it.
How to Enable Root for Apps on Lineage OS
Once you’ve installed the Lineage SU addon zip, do the following to enable root for Apps on Lineage OS:
Enable Developer options: Go to Settings » About phone » Tap seven times on Build number.
Go back to Settings main menu and open Developer options from there.
Look for Root access setting, and set it to Apps and ADB or Apps only, as per your need.
That’s all. Your Android device running on Lineage OS should have full root access for apps now.
If you ever need to disable root access, just go to Settings » Developer options » Root access and select the Disabled option from there.

They(boot.oat) are being generated automatically if you compile any custom rom.Home button wakes up the device, I won't disable that feature. It is useful for everyone.

Hi there, i am thinking of buying this device for my gf because she needs something with a ****load of battery power. So this device seems the obvious choice. But i have a question:
i noticd that on every rom there is no led and no fingerprint. Is this something that will be added in the future or is it not possible due to unavailabe firmwares?
Kind regards

Notes
• Build type: User
• Encryption not supported, Decrypted by default
• Selinux is Enforcing
• FMRadio Included
• Do not flash recovery.img available on the spark download website
Flashing Instructions:
Clean flash (Coming from a different ROM):
• Download ROM
• Download Custom Google Apps Package (Like Nikgapps core/basic or Mindthegapps) if the ROM is Vanilla variant (On GApps ROM variant Google Apps are included, don't flash a separate Custom Google Apps package)
• Reboot to Recovery.
• Wipe System, Data, Vendor, Cache, Dalvik/ART cache partitions
• Flash latest stable firmware v11.0.3.0 before flashing ROM
• Flash ROM zip
• Flash Custom Google Apps Package if the ROM is Vanilla variant
• Reboot to system
To get root access, Reboot to recovery after ROM setup and flash Magisk.zip
BOOTLOOP SITUATION: If you are coming from stock/custom MIUI or any ROM which had data ENCRYPTION, you will face bootloop and can not boot into the system. In such case you need to FORMAT data after flashing the ROM. Otherwise the ROM won't boot (Read detailed instructions from here)
Dirty flash (Updating to a newer build):
• Download the new update ROM zip
• Reboot to recovery
• Do not wipe anything
• Flash the new update ROM zip
• Flash the same Custom Google Apps Package again you flashed before (For vanilla users)
• Flash Magisk again if you are rooted before (For rooted users)
• Wipe Cache and Dalvik/ART cache
• Reboot to system
Important note regarding SparkOS 13.6 update
This is a huge rebase of the ROM's source code after the March update, So Clean flash is MANDATORY for all users. Some bugs from previous versions have been fixed in this version and some new features can be noticed. Some customizations have been temporarily removed (eg: Smart charging, QS row & column customisation etc) and will be added in future releases (Read official community post).
You should be aware of some known source bugs in this release before updating to 13.6. These bugs are not device specific and are present in all Spark official devices which will be fixed in the next update.
Known bugs are;
1. Launcher settings are crashing with light theme (works fine with dark theme). You can use a different Launcher but I think Pixel launcher Extended will not work anymore as spark is now completely based on lineage
2. Shortcut buttons glitches in recent panel.
3. Visual glitch on Quicksettings/Statusbar after a reboot (Restarting SystemUI fixes it for now)

No issues with viper4Android here.
Check if you've rooted properly?
Or maybe you are using a mod version of viper4Android.
Been using it for half a year and it's the best Android 13 rom I tried (not that there's many that are up to date)

I used the repackaged v4a from github. Clearly something went wrong here if it's working at your end. I'll try again later when I'm home as I'll need to install from scratch having reverted to A12. Guessing maybe I just needed to reboot again or something. Here's the version I used:

I have to say the smooth responsiveness on these new A12/A13 ROM builds is surprising given how often A11 would lock up for me. Maybe my device just finally needed a reset idk.
OK. Mystery solved. Turns out that Viper4Android does indeed work - it just needed an extra reboot.
So I flash it > reboot > v4a App appears on next boot but doesn't work > reboot again > v4a works.
Weird but makes sense. Sorry for the confusion.
I couldn't receive this kind of google login authorization on this rom "is it you trying to sign in". Device wasn't appearing in google account double verification. No problem in a13 elixir.
Also sadly no option 2g connectivity.
Rom itself seems smooth. ATM moved back to A10

CPU cores seam to be locked to 1400 mhz
Hello İ installed latest Spark OS gapps build on my a205f i loved the rom but it has a bug phone screen freezes cant close the screen no reaction to calls, notifications, holding down the power button the only solution is to wait for the battery drain it happened 2 times what can i do i guees this build is laggy
This is possibly a long shot but any chance of modified files for higher quality audio on Bluetooth SBC (or AAC)? It used to be you could patch it in via Magisk but the module no longer works on newer android versions and if I'm correct the edits need to be made before a ROM is built. If you're able to, any chance of some experimental files for me to try out?
I think the values are in a2dp_sbc_encoder for SBC, a2dp_aac for AAC. A2DP_XXX_DEFAULT_BITRATE 000 where XXX is SBC or AAC and 000 is the bitrate in kbit/s.

Latest Vince just got released yesterday - thank you

Hi,
I installed this rom, until I see it I'm liking it, but the screen rotation doesn't work.
Any idea?
Thanks...
Hello everyone, just flashed this ROM on my Vince (coming from Elixir 3.3 - A13).
Since I use this phone to debug my apps, I need to connect Chrome DevTools to it.
What I've done so far:
- wiped everything
- installed Spark-13.3-Official-vince-20230105-gapps
- installed Magisk 25.2
- registered my Google account
- updated all apps (through Play Store)
- enabled Developer options, then USB debugging
Now, when I launch Chrome DevTools on PC, I can see the phone but the webpages list is empty; it also doesn't show any WebView instance (see the screenshot below).
Remote debug was working with Elixir 3.3 on the same phone and PC, so I suppose the difference is in some ROM setting... something to be changed here, but I'm out of ideas...
Does anyone have any suggestions about this?

First, make sure you have enabled auto rotate screen option. It is disabled by default.
If it's enabled send a screenshot from sensor test app (available in playstore). ROM doesn't have issues auto rotates screen.

Can you send logcat?
I am not using this feature. I will test this later.

Seems like you messed up persist
So flash persist.img via recovery (in persist partition) and reboot into system. Do not wipe anything.
