Can any1 tell me how much time he need to fully charge note10 (not plus). From 10-15% to 100% i need more than a hour and 20min with stock charger, and just 3min more with charger from s8. Friend fully charge n10+ in about hour with stock charger and he have 800mAh bigger battery.
I have exynos n10View attachment 4818513View attachment 4818514

I confirm your conclusions. I have NOTE 10+ and the charging time is also about 1 hour. At the same time, my wife has a NOTE 10 model, and her phone charges in about 1 hour 20 minutes. This really looks a little strange because:
1. The Note 10+ battery has a capacity greater than Note 10.
2. Both phones have the same EP-TA800 charger!
It seems strange, but it is.

@iOr_s tnx for sharing. And yeah...and I'm pissed because of that! Bouth selling as fast charge capable but for note 10 that doesn't woark!!
Someone should tell this to samsung mobile division! I don't know on which address to write

Note 10 has fast charging! Please go to Setting ... - Fast cable charging and unmark it. After that charging time will be changed for both models. In this case Note 10 charges in 3 hours instead of 1 hour 20 minutes. So Note 10 has fast charging mode as Samsung declared it.
Another thing is that fast charging is realized in Note 10 plus much more efficiently, include super fast charging of 45 watts.
Sent from my SM-N975U1 using XDA-Developers Legacy app

@iOr_s yeah it have, but not fast as note10+, that's the point! Note+ can utilize 25w charger that came in box, note10 not (about the same charging speed with old 15w and new 25w chargers).

Ok, so with my new 45w USB C to C wall charger from 0 to 100 takes an hour, flat! no frills. no lies.
Galaxy Note 10+. 45watt Super Fast Wall Charger, directly from Samsung with the $150 credit. I would suggest getting a few of these to carry around with you wherever you go. Now you know how long it takes to go from 0 to 100.

Yes, great, congrats!
But that cannot help our friend @Proday. Note 10 does not support 45W fast charging.
By the way, the charging time for Note 10 Plus using the EP-TA800 adapter is also about 1 hour.
And on the side, it is much easier to carry the compact EP-TA800 with you wherever you go, than 45W fast charger

@iOr_s yeah, that is eaven better if you (and my neighbor here) have same charging time with 25w as user with 45w [emoji849][emoji56]

In fact, there is a slight time difference. It is approximately 15 minutes ).
On the one hand, it makes up 25-30% (!!!) of the total charging time. But on the other hand, it's only about 15 minutes
And for me personally this is not so important. And for this reason I have not bought a 45W charger yet

Hi, since we are talking abt charging, I have one on Wireless.
The included Note 10+ power adaptor (EP-TA800) cannot FAST Wireless Charge when connected to my 2 older Wireless charger stands (EP-NG930, EP-PG950) [only Standard, slow Wireless Charging]... BUT if I swap out the 25W adaptor with an older unit (EP-TA20UWE), I CAN Fast Wireless Charge with both above-said charger stands.
My question: Is this normal per Samsung's current support for only USB PD & dropping of AFC charging standard (read this somewhere but not fully across the technical implications of this)? i.e.- I will need a new wireless charging stand in order to FAST wireless charge with provided 25W adaptor?
Bit of a bummer if true since that's like Samsung abandoning our older accessories. Appreciate any inputs u might have. Tks.

Got a response from Samsung today. They confirmed that the included 25W adapter will not enable Fast Wireless Charging on older Samsung stands for reasons associated with power & voltage regulation. That means if Fast Wireless charging is important to you, you'll have to pony up and get one of the new Samsung stands.

Of course that you need to pay for new! But it is eaven worse when you pay for something that doesn't work (25w on note10)!

Sorry to hear that! Which brings me to the point of being more transparent about adoption of new standards (and what legacy ones are dropped).. right? Fast Wireless charging on older stands not supported... okay, maybe not such a big deal but you'd think they'd be a little more upfront about it instead of giving us the big run around.
To answer yr Q- I contacted them via Live Chat on Samsung Members app, then they called me back.

I have 2 dual stands wireless chargers from Samsung. 1 is 10W and the other is 15 W. They BOTH show fast charging for me. They both came with their own power adaptors out of the box. The 10W comes with the adaptive fast charging, and the 15W came with the same 25W charger that the Note 7 was able use. Did you lose your adaptor?

[Q] Charging

Hey all, haven't been able to find an answer for this. So I'll open a new thread. Now the question. The phone seems to take a long time to charge. Is it possible for me to use my Note 4's quick charger or can anyone recomend a faster charger for this phone? Charging it with Note 4's 2a charger wont damage the battery? Thank you.
I use a 2.1 out and it charges in about an hour and a half
Charging isn't fast and it seems that if the phone gets warm, it draws less power then too - so on a warm day, it can feel like it's taking years.
Would have been nice to have had wireless charging support and/or turbo charging, but alas not.

Doesn't the phone support quick charging? But Huawei haven't bundled the appropriate charger?
Doesn't appear to. I've got a Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 adapter and it doesn't seem any faster, nor say fast charging.
There's a quirk, when the battery shows 100% it actually still keep charging for another 30 minutes. All tests showed that it took 3hours+ to fully charge it. So quick charge my ass.
So just to update, I have tried charging it with note 4's fast charger and it charges the phone from 20 to 100% in about an hour and a half. Which imo isn't that bad. With the included charger, it took me around 2 and a half hours... Huawei really should have included a charger with higher amp, 1 is way to low.

It's sadly very common for phones to ship with poor chargers (1A and even lower), but then again - some phones these days come with NO charging adapter, assuming you'll have a ton of them anyway.
I use a 2.1A 5V charger, but I've tried the faster ones (that can output 9V) and it doesn't speed things up, so while it can charge faster with a better PSU, it won't ever charge as quick as many other flagships. Mind you, has the G4 been given full support yet? Likewise, the Z3 is down as supporting Quick Charge 2.0 on Qualcomm's website, but then turns out to be only some variants. Makes me wonder if the Z3+ supports it in every guise.
Not sure what the reasoning is for devices that could support faster charging not actually allowing it, especially if the manufacturer could profit from selling faster chargers separately.

I read an article about Huawei declining fast-charge for "battery-purposes" so it can have a longer life cycle. But i think Huawei made an exception about the Huawei Honor 7.
I had an Samsung before and never had problems with fast-charging whatsoever.
My P8 was full in about 2 hours with an 2.1 A charger, while my Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 took 1,5 hours.
the screenshoot took from Huawei P8 & P8 Max Launching Event 2015 said that p8 has quick charge at min 21.30 but they didnt talk about that in the event

Phone charges slow. My watt meter doesn't get anything over 13.3watts. Note 5 could easily hit 15watts.
Phone charges MUCH slower than my OnePlus 5, same chip, but Note only has quickcharge 2.0 for some reason, whilst the OP% has their version of quick charge 4, dash charging, which is insanely faster.
So slow -_-
Battery is way too small !!
Around 1000 mA or considerably less with screen on around 2000 mA with screen off (AccuBattery).
Anyone knows the exact model of the black EU Note 8 official charger please? And how many watts?
This is unacceptable charging speeds.... at 42% an hr and 5 mins?!!?
It takes about 1:40 hrs to charge from 3% to 100% on my phone. I wish it was faster but I really don't mind it.
Wireless Charging takes way longer than through USB
anyone else getting better battery life after disabling fast charging?
It's about 1 hr 45 mins to charge it from 1% to 100%. Don't believe some reviews online. Especially the one posted by Danny Widget. I am not sure what issue caused that but I'm pretty sure it's faster than that.

Using the essential quick charger. I get from 1% to 100% in 40 minutes.
From essential phone? What's the wattage?
I got a 3.0 charger and type c cable and my phone charges much faster than the plug and cable it came with. Invest in one people. I called Samsung mobile support yesterday and asked them does it support 3.0 QC and they said yes. I know it's been going around that it does not but it does.

I seem to get better battery life. I disabled it 2 days after owning it. Not sure if that makes a difference. Would like to see if anyone else is seeing the same.
You know what all day I have been doing research on the Note 8 and 3.0 Quick Charge. Samsung told me that the Note8 supports 3.0 QC. But everything else I have read says no it has 2.0. Which sucks because my V20 had 3.0 QC. I am telling you my V20 charged faster way faster than the Note8. But my battery life is way better with the Note8. I usually don't have to charge my Note8 at all throughout the day. So does it really matter? No but it does suck that Samsung has not stepped up their game and put 3.0 QC on this 1,000 dollar phone.

hi guys,
I have recently bought this smartphone and I have one question. When I use its own charger the default mode of charging is fast charging but I don't want always to use fast charging since it's not good for the battery life-time. Is there anyway I can do to disable fast charging?
thanks

Hi. I have just bought this phone and it was all fine. I needed another charger for work so bought a 3Rd party one. It was fine the first few times, but now when I connect it the phone automatically shuts down and will not start again. According to the tech that checked it out, the battery was completely flat.
I suspect I can only use a OEM charger. Really inconvenient.
Nokia lie about fast charge between 0 % to 50 % in 30 minutes . I tested it many time 50 minutes to charge 50 %

Not true. I have never used the OEM charger. Fast charging is tough on the battery as others have said. I have several other chargers (one came with my audio chromecast, one came with an old HTC phone, one is a no-name charger). They are rated anywhere from 1 amp to 1.9 amps. All have worked perfectly. At work I leave my phone on my desk so leaving it plugged in until charged regardless of how long it takes is no big deal. I also make sure to take it off charge once it reaches 100%. It is not good to leave it on charge when full.
More than 2 amps at 5vdc are overkill for the battery and it's causing nothing but a superfast degradation but hey we have superfast charge on a cheapster ...

I'm using an old Aukey QC2.0 charger that I bought 3 years ago for my Zenfone2, it charges quick too. Using a meter I checked that the Nokia charger is using QC3.0 and for instance can charge at 6V/2A or about whatever voltage it wants, but my QC2.0 charger is 5/9/12V only and with a meter I checked it is charging at 9V and ~1.6A. My car charger is also a QC2.0 charger and works too, on the lock screen is it written "fast charging" and yes, it does.
The chargers I use daily for 3 years now (I have the old 2.0 version but now they are 3.0 version)
https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-Charger-Charge-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B01BBZJ31Y

so practically using QC 2.0 and QC 3.0 got same charging speed? so what is the advantage of using QC 3.0? can anyone give some info?
QC2.0 is something like 5V/2A, 9V/2A and 12V/1.5A, while QC3.0 voltage range is wider, something like 5V to 20V, requested by the device, it can be 6V/3A for instance. Battery management is better I guess.

45watt pd pps powerbank and charger

Ok, quick edit 03/11
Below is post by post/day to day, my first real life experience with the PowerPie 20.000mAh 45w PD PPS powerbank.
I will summarise the whole thing with a few pics over the next few days but it's not a very long read if you want to get an idea of it, go ahead
For 58 Euro I think this is worth every cent.
Original first post below:
Hey guys/girls
I haven't been posting much for quite some time but still lurking in the background
I got a 20.000mAh powerbank today called PowerPie, it supports 45w pd pps charging so it is good for Note 10 plus onwards.
There's a link to it here but I'll update this thread with my personal experience as I get testing and trying it out.
Sorry if this has already been covered but I didn't see it mentioned anywhere here.
They do a 45w pd pps charger as well but I did not get that one as there was no 3 pin plug one.

Super, that's the one I have as well so that's good to know.
I didn't know about the 45W charger from Elecjet when I bought the Samsung one but I only paid 37 quid so it is all good.
I think it will sell well since Samsung doesn't seem to be dropping price themselves
1st test
Got to try this thing out for the first time this morning.
I let the Note 10 plus drain until it turned itself off in a final death cramp of a vibration *
Using the short usb-c to usb-c cable that came with the PowerPie I plugged it in.*
I had already charged the PowerPie fully using the official Samsung 45 Watt charger.
Here is what I got at first attempt on my 5 months old Note 10 plus 5G from 0%
7 min - 14%
9 min - 22%
12 min - 30 %
20 min - 47%
30 min - 66% (I've seen claims of 69% but I find 66% perfectly acceptable)
40 min 83%
47 min 90%
1 hour - 96%
1.05 - 100%
Considering that this is a powerbank, not a wall charger I find it a VERY GOOD result.*
The PowerPie is still showing 3 of the 4 LED's so it is so far so good with hoping to get 4 full charges plus a bit but I'll report back on that later.
Update:
I did the 2nd full charge of my Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G from 0% using the PowerPie and it was actually a minute or two quicker to both 90 and 100% today
but anything above 80% (42 minutes) is really irrelevant.
However, the positive taken from todays mini test is that during this 2nd charge cycle the led's on the PowerPie did drop from 3 to 2 but after charging the phone to a 100% there is still 2 led's lit up which should indicate that there is over 50% in *The Pie*
Tomorrow and the day after to go and I'll be able to confirm if a full 4 charges for the Note 10 plus 5G is possible but it is looking positive so far.

Tomorrow and the day after to go and I'll be able to confirm if a full 4 charges for the Note 10 plus 5G is possible but it is looking positive so far.

I think it drops off a bit faster near the end, I'd be surprised to get 4 charges, but I haven't tried.

I'm giving it a go anyway, it will be nice to know how far it stretches for when you need it.
After this first initial testing it will be the exemption rather than the rule running *The Pie* flat again
I want to also see how quick it charges to full using the Samsung 45w charger so obviously have to run it dry.
Another Update.
Day 3:
3rd full charge cycle just done and there is still 1 led left on, on *The Pie* indicating that there is a minimum of 25% 5000mAh left in it, so it will be interesting tomorrow to see if that translates into a 4th full charge cycle.
Interesting thing from todays mini test was that I instead of letting the Galaxy Note 10 Plus die on it's own, I instead switched it off at 1% (letting Galaxy phones die completely have caused issues for customers in the past)*
This seems to have resulted in slightly faster charging as it went to 77% in 30-31 minutes and a full 100% in 96 minutes, which is a fair bit better than starting from completely dead.

Hi Friends,
I have been thinking of getting the 45 watt samsung charger myself but then had this thought of going for a 65 watt Type C charger for a dell chromebook 3380.
Note 10+ is supposed to be able to take upto 47 watts if I'm not mistaken. please correct me if I'm wrong. The dell charger will work for the phone and the chromebook both and costs around $52-55 here. The Samsung Charger on the online Sammy store is also $53-55 and that in my currency equals ₹3500 - 4200 approx. The chromebook charger will actually cost less because the don't sell that well but the Samsung won't be coming down anytime soon atleast which makes me lean towards the dell.
You maybe aware that oppo is shipping the Reno 2 or 3 whichever it is they launched few days ago with a 65 watt fast charger.
After reading through this topic and your posts one thing I found surprising is that the charge times are actually more than my standard 25 watt charger that came in the box. Is it that the power bank is not putting out 45 watts for charging the phone but is capable of being charged with a 45 watt charger?
I think if we use a 45 watt charger for the phone itself the total time to go from 0% to 100% should not be more than 30-35 minutes. Is that correct, because you have those chargers I think you would be the right ones to throw some light on this.
Thanks for sharing and I am looking forward to your advice/experience in this regard.
Have a great day ahead, it is 4.20 am in India right now for others I would say sleep well if it's bedtime.
This is the longest time I have been on a phone without rooting it, which I will do soon. I wanted to check how true the statement that most apps that needed root can now work without it.
It hasn't turned out to be quite like that, titanium backup needs root and most importantly the best audio mod for android ViperFX needs root too. I have also been running 2 sim cards and the micro sd card at the same time, which samsung has blocked and thus can't be done without rooting and a custom os.

Hi centaur31
Don't get just any 45w charger as you will end up with something that only charges you phone at 15w or maybe 25w if you are lucky.
Reason for this is that you need a pd pps charger, just pd won't work.
Oppo and other OEMs use different proprietary types of fast charging so their chargers won't work either.
From 0-100 % your 25W charger will be nearly as quick as the 45w only about 10 minutes difference.
The 45W is a good bit faster at the lower and mid so disregard between 80-100% it's not how it was designed.
No your 25W will not charge faster than either this 45w PowerPie or Samsung 45w between 80-100%
I have 25/45w from Samsung and also now this powerbank so I can guarantee that.
I can't help you with the Root questions as I haven't been doing that since Note 4, to me the 8/9/10 is fine without Root
Sorry I missed a thing there...
No 45w will not charge to 100% in 30-35min.
55min. is probably the best you can expect to see and 1.05h from the 25w
Final day of this mini test of the *The Pie* with the Note 10 Plus 5G
I let the phone go down to 1% again and plugged it in, there was still 1 of the 4 LEDs lit up on the power bank so I was a little optimistic about maybe getting a full 4th charge out of it but it wasn't to be....
However...It stopped at bang on 60% so all in I think it is a very respectable result considering that this is a 45W fast charging powerbank.
3 full 4300mAh charges plus one at 60% (2580mAh) if you can calculate it that directly.
Is it worth the 58 Euro I paid for it... I most certainly think so
I measured Powerpie bank and official 45w charger do not go pass 38w no matter what so in reality its 38w charger.. also there's Baseus PPS 45w car charger that works with Note 10+ and it maxes out at 38w as well (when the phone is completely dead, it's even lower if it has some juice still left).. so don't spend arm and a leg on that new car charger Samsung just announced, I payed for Baseus 12$ on ebay [emoji23]

The Baseus I'm sure doesn't do 45W pps but I doubt that you are correct about both Samsungs charger and the PowerPie.
I would question your testing/measurement methods a bit, simply because you can't get ANY of the 3 different pieces of equipment to go over 38w

I didn't find it necessary to test the official charger as it delivered the charging times that Samsung claims it should.
Are you sure you are using the correct type cable for testing?
OK so you didn't actually measured the actual wattage at various stages of the battery lol until you do, how can you argue that I'm doing something incorrectly, see for yourself
Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
Well they're claiming UP TO 45w, not 45w all the time so in reality that means that if it only hit 45w once or twice then it does what they say
I'm happy enough with the charging results I have gotten anyway as they have lived up to expectations.
Next to try is the pps car charger

3rd party 45W charger - Baseus 65W GaN Mini Quick Charge US

Just got this on our country's local online shopping site (shopee) for about $27 (discounted and with free c-c cable). It's actually 65W and has two USB Type-C ports and one USB-A port. The first USB-C port supports up to 65W and I mainly use it for my laptop. However, I just discovered that it actually charges my Note10+ on 45W. The second USB-C port supports up to 30W and it charges the phone at 25W. Lastly, the USB-A also supports up to 30W but it only charges the phone at 18W.
Many have asked how I knew the power output on each ports when used on the Note10+, well a few months back, Samsung added the feature on one of their updates to display different labels when charging.
On 45W charging, the phone displays Super Fast Charging 2.0;
on 25W charging, the phone displays Super Fast Charging;
on 15-18W charging, the phone displays Fast Charging;
and on 10W charging, the phone displays Cable Charging.
So there you have it, if you're looking for 3rd party 45W chargers, I suggest you check this one out as well.
I also am not sure if xda allows me to link where I got this but I'll just do it anyway. To the mods, please remove the link if necessary.

Hi, how do you know what wattage you are getting with each cable?
im using baseus GaN 65W + type C to type C 100W from baseus and the 45w work properly
Nice find! It's available on Amazon in the US for roughly the same price as your link.

The later firmware of the note 10+ has different indicators when charging. On 15-18W charging the phone will display "Fast Charging", on 25W it will display "Super Fast Charging", lastly on 45W charging the phone will display "Super Fast Charging 2.0"

Explained perfectly. I was very surprised when I saw "super fast 2.0" on my note 10+
I bought one of these chargers:
https://www.giztop.com/baseus-120w-2c1a-gan-charger.html
Due to it's 87-watt output of the Type C port, I use it to charge the Note 10 Plus in full-speed, as well as to charge my laptop, which can be charged through the Type C port.
Even if I use both Type C ports at the same time, the quality and speed of charging does not decrease either in mobile phone or laptop, which is one of the strengths of this charger.
It is compact and has a very high quality.
I have bought several Baseus products, even 2 protective cases, without exception, all have been of a very good quality, and, reasonably priced
15W charger charges in 80min
25W charges in 65min
45W charges in 56min
Are there any drawbacks with those new GaN chargers? I mean, if they aren't becoming the norm, there may be any. Are they less durable? Maybe they produce more toxic waste?

Original firmware, still running Pie, will indicate "fast charging" with the 25 w brick.
Really that's all you need or want. Stock ones with cable go for $20 stateside. My original one is still charging away even after heavy use.
One other plus for the stock charger is it will charge even at 60 VAC. I inadvertently tested that when we lost one leg of electric power overnight. Didn't phase the brick one bit... and it continued charging.
Update, got a new N10+ running on Q. With the same 25w brick, Q shows it to be "super charging". Sounds faster
Doesn't faster charging (ie. faster than rated for the phone) make the battery deteriorate faster?

Yes. Any additional stress does.
Do you think about how rapidly the battery discharges when in use? Same deal.
When watching vids which draw about 12% SOT I give it a break every 20-30 minutes.
The whole phone interior is warm much of the time too, more stress.
Just the nature of having a finite lifespan. On a heavily used device you'll get 1-2 years lifespan.
It's no big deal, simply replace it when it's capacity drops below roughly 80% of it's original capacity to avoid a battery failure which can heavily damage, even destroy the device.
Replacing the battery is just part of using and maintaining the phone.
Even the N10+'s battery replacement which isn't rated as easy really is not that difficult once you learn the tricks. Just replace with a battery made in Nam, not China and use a new OEM seal on the rear cover.
The "permanent battery" stuff is just hype for most phones. There are a few exceptions.

So you charge your N10+ daily with a faster charger? And always to full 100%?
Well, if mine would last perhaps another 2 years, even doing this, I'd already be happy

Mostly always use fast charging. Not real concerned about replacing the battery but I do limit the level of discharge/charge.
Very rarely to 100% or below 30%
Li's like frequent midrange power cycling.
Typically 40-50 to 70-85% two or three times a day.
Overnight I try to start it at 50-70%
Don't start a charge if below 72F.
Never attempt to charge at 40F or less.
Optimum start temperature is 82-90F
Cool if it goes beyond 100F when charging.
Short midrange charge cycles create less heat and stress.
