How do I troubleshoot my NFC function? - Moto G6 Plus Questions & Answers

Hello,
I recently purchased a few NFC 215 tags/stickers to give them some use, but the apps show no response whatsoever to the tags (they ask to scan a tag, and don't ever react anyway whatsoever). I've tried "NFC Tools", "NFC TagInfo by NXP", "Tagmo", and a bunch of other random NFC apps.
Is there a way to troubleshoot whether the issue is on the tags or on my phone? I have no other devices with NFC capability.
What I gathered on the lenovo support forums (just figured I can't post links since I don't post much...):
- I am scanning them at the right position according to "Moto G6 Plus: Location of NFC chip/sensor?"
- The NFC on the phone SHOULD be working according to "Broken NFC Reader - Again !!", since apparently I wouldn't be able to toggle it on or off if it wasn't...?
Thanks for your time!

[Q] Do something when phone removed from NFC Tag

Iv done some reading and am still a little confused as to if I can use something like Trigger or something like Trigger to turn off toggles etc. when my phone is removed from a NFC Tag. Currently I use Trigger to turn on BT and Turn off Wifi etc.. when I place my phone on a NFC tag when I get into my car and that works great. But when I get out of my car and remove my phone from said NFC Tag I would like to turn off BT etc.. Can this be done?
I have a Verizon Galaxy S5 running NE9.
Thanks,
~SomeGuy2008
It can be done but you'll have to set up another trigger to disable them. So one trigger is turning on BT/ off Wifi when you touch it the first time. The second trigger would be the opposite BT off/ wifi on but you can't just remove it from the NFC tag, you have to tap it again
Thanks for the idea. I found that I was over engineering the whole idea between Tasker and Trigger. After reading your reply I figured I would only use Trigger. I had to create 2 Tasks in Trigger. When I get into my car I put my phone into the phones car dock (which has a NFC Tag on it) . 1 triggers via NFC which turns on BT and connects to my Cars BT,disables wifi, enables Mobile Data and opens Waze or whatever navigation app I want. The other Task does the reverse when disconnecting from my Cars BT (aka getting out of my car and taking my phone with me). After various tests its about 99.99999% accurate. And I works with only 1 initial NFC tap.
Thanks again for the idea.

[Q] Can't read NFC tags from cards/passport

Dear All,
I googled for this info and searched the forums - and can't find anything useful. There's a ton about which tags do work and which don't but nothing on my issue.
What I tried to do:
- read tags with the both new and older version of NXP Taginfo - I hear the sound of tag acquisition an then... nothing appears,
- read passport tags with NFC Passport Reader - just sound, no reaction
- share files from gallery with other devices - this actually works but not every time.
I do have T-Mobile MyWallet installed and I thought this was messing up - but after removing that and rebooting - same story.
At the moment I have a clean original Samsung system, not rooted. I tried with both power saving enabled and disabled - same story as above. It seems NFC is working but not for acquiring tag data.
Any help would be appreciated
bump
Sorry for the bump, but... hasn't anyone else experienced problems or has a potential explanation to this NFC problem? Anyone?

don't know if the NFC actually functioned

hi,
I bought a battery through mpj for GALAXY S5 with NFC on a suggestion of a friend. It works as expected but I don't know if the NFC actually functioned as claimed. How can I confirm it? Many thanks!
It should beep if you scan an NFC tag to it. Also a picture transfer with another NFC phone. Obviously not an iPhone, cause their NFC is sh!t.

Bluetooth - not detected

Hello, I have Android 8.0 and tried to use some JVC headphones. But it doesn't see them at all.
I read this is an issue on many phone models, acknowledged by Google, that will be fixed eventually. I see 8.1 has some mention about bluetooth, so the first question is if there is any chance of getting that update sooner on A1?
When I turn on bluetooth outside it sees quite a long list of devices, so apparently the receiver is strong (can pick up signal from far away). But most of the devices are not listed by name, but by a string of numbers and letters. The headphones are not among them. I could pair it, instead with another phone running Miui.
I tried playing with all settings in Developper options with no effect. (They seem to go back to default option anyway.)
Did anybody find a solution to this?

NFC option not showing

Hi, I bought LG stylus 2 plus K-535 marshmallow from https://www.thinkofus.com.au/lg-stylus-2-plus-dual-sim-k535-16gb-black
but it does not have any NFC options in settings also it does not show NFC chip in it when I used google play apps to check NFC.
Please tell me what is the issue, should I update it 7.0? Or this model (probably hong kong one) does not have NFC? How is it possible?
Please install Droid Hardware Info from play store and go to Features tab. See if NFC is there.
There's a possibility that variant may not have NFC support. When I checked the specs with LG, NFC is not listed at all on the product page but every other variant clearly lists it being available.
As noted in the post above, if the hardware info doesn't show the NFC chip, and if there's nothing listed in the Settings for NFC or Android Beam then that variant just doesn't have the NFC chip.
