Find and flash the stock firmware for your device.
Search for guides on XDA for flashing Moto firmware and relocking your bootloader.

hi, every xperia play owners in this forum, my this thread is for a noob question i just wanted to know would i will be able to upgrade to official 2.3.4 firmware without flashing process after i had unlocked my bootloader, rooted and have flashed dooms kernel on it ?? will it brick my phone or i hav to relock bootloader ??
Updating normally will brick the phone with an unlocked bootloader. You would need to re-lock it or flash the ROM manually.

G900V from 4.4.4 to most current version with root?

Looked thru the other threads, and didnt see anything that pertained directly perhaps someone can point me in the right direction.
Have my stock S5 from verizon, on 4.4.4 NK2 firmware. Looking to update to whatever is the most current stock firmware with root. I'm coming to this from years of rooting Sprint devices, this is my first Verizon and I've been putting it off forever. Been getting the nag screen everyday now for a software update and I figured it was the time to update this and get myself root.
Thanks in advance for any help in where to look. Please forgive me in advance if this is a duplicate, I searched...I really did, but since its all new to me I wanted to ask.
Looks like the process is to flash 4.4.2, root, check if bootloader can be unlocked, and then proceed 2 different ways if it can be dev bootloader unlocked. If it can, unlock bootloader, flash twrp, and then flash whatever rom you want. If you can't unlock the bootloader, folow the guides to upgrade keeping root with safestrap and use roms that are TW for locked bootloaders. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I just got a 4.4.4 g900v myself in a trade and I'm figuring out how to proceed as well.
Ok, slight difference. You can root & check the bootloader from 4.4.4...

If you can unlock your bootloader (I could), then flash the bootloader of choice from that link above to correspond to the rom you want. I'll be trying out Phoenix with pd4 (installed from above link) from here...

Flashing Nougat with TWRP without losing TWRP

Hi, newbie question here. I just got my Axon 7. Unlocked the bootloader. Installed TWRP. Made full nandroids of stock and rooted firmwares.
I would like to flash the new Nougat update. What would be the best way to accomplish this without losing TWRP? and what is the correct firmware to use? ota? Also can nougat be rooted? Just dont want to brick my new phone. Thanks
No TWRP flashable file yet.....but I'm sure it'll be soon.
You will need to be on the Nougat bootstack, but you'll have to search for that info.

[Q] Re-lock the bootloader with OTA?

Hi, i have a xt1621 non plus, i've unlocked for rooting Marshmallow, but now i have the Nougat Stock rom 25.93.14-4 via stock recovery. I've read in other threads that i need the latest stock rom for my device to re-lock the bootloader. I can't find the rom.
Now, when i downgrade to Marshmallow, the update to Nougat 25.93.14-14 appears, but is possible to re-lock with the OTA update?
Regards.

No, you need to flash the images via fastboot and then run the lock command. There are explicit instructions on this forum.

From Nougat to MM for recovery

I have Custom ROM stock nougat
Can I install only the MM bootloader, do full wipe, and install a custom MM ROM, just for recovery?
Downgrade for recovery?
I'm confused about what you want to achieve, are you asking if you can downgrade to stock marshmallow from stock Nougat, to flash a custom marshmallow ROM?
If so, you could downgrade, but I would strongly recommend not using OTA updates on the stock marshmallow ROM if you downgrade, else you may hard brick your device. In most cases, you can't downgrade the bootloader in fastboot.
I'm not sure what you are asking for about recovery, can you elaborate?

You can even stay on nougat firmware, there's no need to downgrade as nougat is official released and available for all countries
