Flashed roms stuck on bootscreen (logo screen) - P8lite Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I need an advice. It will be appreciated!
I am with TRWP 3.1.0-1 alice.Flashed an image through official TRWP app.
I flashed "ressurection remix" , "stock 8.0" , "lineage OS". They all just get stuck on logo screen after install.I waited for 25 mins and nothing happens; only once the phone restarted & then froze again.
If i turn it off, after 4 secs. it turns on by itself.
(but if i go quickly with combo buttons, i am able to get into TRWP and go back to backed up system...)
I'm currently running Android 5.0.1 / EMUI 3.1 ;
I have rooted the phone with Kingoroot
(without pc)
***
If you can give some advice, i'll be very gratefull...
Thank you!

The best is you update your stockrom to emui 8 first, after this it should work with customs.

I see there are emui 8 updates, but they all seem to be for 2017 version.
I bought my phone in 2015.
Not sure if it is safe to flash something , that is for the later version.
What do you think?

As far as I know, Resurrection Remix, LineageOS, and all other Custom ROMs only work on B896 Version (this is meant for Vodafone). First, you need to have this ROM and only then you can successfully flash Custom ROMS, unless, you're searching for in P8Lite (2017)...
Do read the main part before installing... They should have mentioned it there...

INFO !!!
My first update OverTheAir with this file was a fail. Only black screen after update and reboot.
(I think because i did not change the country code after flashing KitKat a few weeks ago)
(If the update stuck at 100% in recovery you also have to reflash KitKat ROM)
So i flashed original 830F KitKat ROM via "PhoneFlashTool" with this ROM / Tutorial:
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/Z2US9gd..._150422_ROW.7z
http://www.android-hilfe.de/thema/tutorial-wie-installiere-ich-das-kommende-update-wenn-es-nicht-funktioniert-fuer-alle-varianten.697884/
Changed the "Country Code Setting" via ContactApp ####6020# to "de" (select your language).
And do not update any app like Chrome etc. when it reboots again after.
Then download and start the Lollipop 5.0.1 Update.
Lollipop upgrade reboots into recovery and stays 5min. at 100%.
Then reboots into some intel-flash mode and stays for 4min.
After it reboots into Lollipop OS... :cyclops:
INFO 2 !!! (if you installed Lollipop update 1 first and now restoring/flashing of KitKat ROM fails)

I have the same problem, only that I had the first Lollipop version for 1050F with root and then got the new Lollipop update. The Kitkat version fails to flash. But here is what helped: Go to this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/thi...-8-10-13-3-t2930428/post60490907#post60490907
and download the LtoKKxml.7z and copy the files into the kitkat firmware folder and then flash using flash-LtoKK-PVT-810.xml
I had to remove the parts of the XML that erase and format data. Then it worked
After that I could flash KitKat!!

LOLLIPOP ROOT
So easy, follow steps 1-8: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/intel-android-devices-root-temp-cwm-t2975096
I download "IntelAndroid-FBRL-05-16-2015-PTR.7z" and "UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip" and it worked with Lollipop 5.0.1.
Make sure you have all the Android, Intel, ADB driver stuff installed (for me win7 installed another one at rooting?)
!!! USE OPTION T4 FOR LOLLIPOP ROOT !!!

Yup I got the notice a few mins ago. I also got it many weeks ago when it bricked my yoga 2 8.3
Advice, when it says Updating....100%. Leave it alone. Last time I thought it was done since it said 100% for many many minutes. So i thought it was stuck or bricked. Just let it sit. It will reboot by itself and restart to the next phase.
It will also sit on the Lenovo android screen for quite a while before it goes to Android is upgrading.
Yes, i got problems too!
- It stays for 8min. at 100%. I leave it alone...
- Then 4 chinese Buttons showed up.
- I pressed the first (reboot i think)
- it reboots, it shows the white lenovo text, then black screen with background light on.
- i waited 10min., no change or start into OS.
- then i pressed 15sek power off, light goes off.
- if i power on, again white lenovo text, then black screen with background light on. nothing... ???
i reboot into recovery and wiped cache, nothing.
i think i will make update from SD card again... see if something happend
Update again from SD dont work! it says:
"/system/app/Chrome.apk" has unexpected contents...
E: Error in /sideload/package.zip
SUCCESS, LOLLIPOP IS WORKING!!!
I Have restored original KitKat ROM via "PhoneFlashTool" with this ROMs / Tutorial:
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/Z2US9gd6f2ei/YT2-830F_S0195_150422_ROW.7z

This time i´ve made the "Country Setting" via ContactApp ####6020# to "DE" befor download and upgrade!
And i have aborted the automatic PlayStore updates for Chrome etc...
Lollipop upgrade reboots into recovery and stays 5min. at 100%.
Then reboots into some intel-flash mode and stays for 4min.
After it reboots into Lollipop OS...
So can you boot back into android? Even after you wiped it? If not and you can't do anything, call Lenovo. I think only they can fix it.
If you can get back into android, I would suggest waiting for the System update notice. That's what showed up this morning for me. I didn't have any chinese buttons. I didn't have to touch anything, just wait for a really long time which is unnerving because I don't know status.
I flashed the KitKat Version again, changed country code, and installed the new Lollipop 5.0.1 update again.
This time there are no chinese buttons to press. (i think because changing the country code befor update).
Lollipop is great, the display is much faster while scrolling in chrome etc.
Interesting. I wonder what the difference between the versions of the country codes are. Mine bricked last time it was updated to lollipop. When I got the repair back, it was back to kitkat and I couldn't update until this morning.
Glad to hear you got it fixed. A few of my apps also stopped working and I had to clear the cache to get it working again after the update.
There are some differences in pre-installed apps. I did not changed the country code few weeks ago because there are some apps in german setup i do not want...

You need to flash the stock kk firmware.

Yes, It looks like I cannot just upgrade from rooted KK. I had to go back to stock kk firmware provided in the OP's link and follow step by step instructions using google translate. thanks workdowg and 5m00v3.

Lollipop does not longer provide the option to manual change band... it will auto connect to 5ghz if possible.
It has nothing to do with country code DE. You can check your connection 2,4/5ghz with the app "wifi band".
My YT2 connects automatic to my 5ghz. And i have 2 networks (2,4 + 5ghz) with same networkname.

Okay, I found the solution ! Make the tablet totaly Off, press volume up and volume down, than press power bouton, you directly acces to fastboot mode, and here you can flash with Phone Flash Tool.
Hi,
thanks for the timming TIPs !!
I can't believe LENOVO dosen't take care of this basic things !!
Thanks to you Lollipop is running on my beloved Yoga.
A little tip while we are avaiting 5.1,
Go in Parameter
Activate DEV options : About this tablet, touch 7 times on "Build Version", it will activate the Developper Menu in parameters
Go to Developpers Option (in PArameter)
UNCheck NuPlayer in multimedia.
--> REBOOT your device
It will allow you to avoid Lagging into the UI and apps.
Note that in 5.1 NuPlayer has been replaced by a bugfree version.

Googling ”E: failed to verify whole-file signature" and each one talks about a corrupt download... They are old posts from 2013 or so but they could be right.
Try this version 2.40. You can update in the Play store once your rooted.

Sent from my YOGA Tablet 2-1050F
Thanks for your help.
I tried the 2.40 version triple check the zip file, aleas same error...
Also there are not only corruptions problems related... some are related to CMW version problem and lack of "unsign" option..
Again thanks for the 2.40 link. If you have any suggestion I'm all ears.
There is a new update, to yt2-830f_usr_s100191_1511230623_ww52_row
anyone tried it already?
Looks like it requires going back to stock KitKat again just to update it.
Can't really be bothered trying it.

S4 DUOS, GT-I9502, can´t finish “Odin updating” even for stock roms

Hi everyone, I´m really pissed about that issue; I´d really appreciate any help and thanks in advance to you all.
Story: I was using Sva´s rom for kitkat, everything normal, then I´ve seen Sasikas´s for lollipop and decided to try it out. I flashed the original firmware and then the custom, both via odin, used them normal as usual. For some reason, I decide to compare the new sva´s, also for lollipop and when I tried to flash, THE ISSUE BEGAN!
Issue: after doing the normal odin process, when the message “complete” shows up and the phone reboots, the bar of updating progress stop about 25% and the phone reboot to the normal mode, but only with a black screen. This is the screen I´m talking about: 3w generacionandroid.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Android_updating.jpg
What I already tried and it didn´t work:
1 – factory reset after the “boot”; I think the problem is that the “system isn´t being write” so …
2 – different roms, both custom and stock; something interesting about this is that the point of the bar that resets the phone varies according to the rom I use, just as follow:
Rom lollipop: at 25% of the bar the system restarts;
Rom kitkat: the bar jumps from 25% to the end and boots the system until Samsung logo. I noticed that the carrier logo sound is cutted in the end.
I can freely install any recovery and enter dl mode.
By the way, the bootloader file must be flashed at pda or bl in odin?
Flash the bootloader file in the BL slot.
about the bootloader...
I´ve installed a bootloader to try the new lollipop in sva´s rom, maybe because of this I can´t flash anymore? I´ve found this info about bootloaders, could someone tell me if I´m thinkg right about it?
"In literal terms, bootloader is code that is executed before any Operating System starts to run. "
This way what I need is a bootloader for kitkat or previous? Where can i find it?
cry for help
almost givin up...
so, happy new year to everyone, I´ll wait until January to check any replies, otherwise selling for parts. ='[.
Shortening: I can enter recovery and dl mode BUT not getting to install roms;
I know I fixed selinux permissions once and installed a bootloader said to be to install a version of lollipop, that´s all new stuff I did.

T560NU: TWRP on Nougat? / Downgrade Nougat to MM? [SOLVED]

I recently bought a T560NU, in really nice shape except it's been upgraded to Nougat.
I don't know these Galaxy tablets, mostly Moto phones (have unlocked/rooted/ROM'd several) plus have rooted an Asus tablet and a couple of Samsung phones . . . I know those can't be downgraded, but I'm in the dark about Samsung tablets. Just hoping.
1. Second title-question first, as I would prefer this if it's possible: Can I downgrade Nougat on this Tab E 9.6 to Marshmallow? I have the 6.0.1 BQF1 firmware downloaded from sammobile. The phone is now running CQK2.
2. If it can't be downgraded, is it safe to install TWRP 3.1.1-1 gtelwifiue on stock Nougat? And then root with SuperSU or Magisk?
Thanks very much in advance for whatever help/advice might be offered.
I realize these questions might seem a little noobish-ignorant, but after reading that (for example) the LG G Pad 8.3 can apparently be downgraded (at least the bootloader) and it is (or used to be) necessary to downgrade the bootloader to KK before TWRP could be installed; thus I ask both questions here . . . and because after browsing (and searching) a large part of of the Tab E forum, I read a lot of general talk-around, and think, well, it would probably be okay to try installing TWRP, but I don't really get a clear and solid feeling about basic prerequisites or do's and don'ts. I just bought a nearly-brand-new SM-T560NU running Nougat 7.1.1, and you can understand I don't want to take any unnecessary chances.
So I took this specific question and answer as an endorsement for installing TWRP on a T560NU with 7.1.1 (despite reading of several problems getting TWRP on the T377x). The title of the above-referenced thread threw me, because the OP's question is not about root, it's about TWRP. I installed twrp-3.1.1-1-gtelwifiue successfully on my T560NU with Nougat, flashed via Odin clean as a whistle. Just mentioning this for posterity.
As for downgrading stock firmware, it seems like this post (xTujirox's part at the bottom) is telling me I can do that. But considering that downgrading firmware (bootloader etc) can be a much more risky proposition, I'm still waiting/hoping for a more specific response to the question before I even think about trying it.
After 10+ days of waiting I decided to bite the bullet and dive in. It was nerve-wracking, but I got 7.1.1 downgraded to 6.0.1. About 40 minutes after starting, I was thinking I'd gotten a bad download from sammobile. But I finally got it working.
It turns out all I needed to do was clear cache and wipe data (in the stock recovery, since TWRP was blown away by the firmware flash). But it was a slow walk through he11 getting there . . .
After the phone rebooted from Odin and I got the Andy screen "updating" screen, and then apps optimization for the Marshmallow "update". After optimizing 218 apps (or so I thought), the phone went into a loop where 3-4 processes kept crashing/not starting. Most critical I'm sure was "android.process.acore" and the System UI. With the System UI not starting up, it was a real trick to get a shutdown to take -- lots of quick double-thumb-taps because the error pop-ups kept obscuring power-off.
It finally did shut down, and I powered-up into recovery with no problem. Once there I wiped cache and then data/factory reset. After watching the "Samsung" screen for 10 minutes plus, Marshmallow started up clean as a whistle. Another power-down and -up to make sure it started up okay, and then back to download mode to reflash TWRP.
Again this is all for "posterity" in case anybody else comes along with the same question(s).
PS . . .
Files Used:
T560NUUEU1BQF1_T560NUXAR1BQF1_XAR.zip (downloaded from sammobile)
. . . the US or "Cellular South" version of MM 6.0.1
. . . this zip file extracts to one rar.md5 file, which is flashed in the AP slot.
twrp-3.1.1-1-gtelwifiue.img.tar

SM-T290 Custom Roms??

Hello. It's been a year since release of this tablet, so Is there any custom roms available for the SM-T290 (Galaxy Tab A 2019 8 inch")? Like Lineage OS?

Hello friend, unfortunately there is only one rom, made by a member of the forum, an improved version of the stock, but you can try a rom via treble, since our device supports updating by this method, I am testing some myself.
I have a T295 (the only difference is that is has mobile data afaik) and would also like to get Lineage on it, since the stock rom is extremely slow, even with very few apps, disabled animations and whatnot.
How would installing via Treble work on Samsung devices, especifically this one? @Reick7
EDIT: nvm, found it, seems to support both T290 and T295 as in: https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/wiki
I'm going to try and install it and report back!

well, i haven't tested it for a long time, as i've passed the tab to someone else, but the one i tested doesn't work as well as i expected, it was the Resurrection Remix Q
@Reick7 Couldn't get it to work, sadly.
I tried to install Treble but it hangs on the initial boot screen aka "Samsung Tab A" + unlocked bootloader screen, never gets past that and reboots indefinitely.
I tried A, A/B and all sorts of things in TWRP like wiping, resizing and whatnot.
What could be the cause?
Thanks in advance.
Tried downgrading to stock Android 9.0 and flashed everything (BL, AP, CP and CSC), let it boot, shut it down, then put TWRP with vbmeta on it and flashed the LOS GSI (A only) with it.
TWRP succeeded sucessfully, I reboot and it's stuck on the bootloader screen with the unlocked warning, reboots, gets a black screen, reboots, ...
I really have no idea.

hi friend, when we install a stock rom we need to activate developer mode and OEM unlock before making any changes, otherwise your device will be locked.i believe that's the case for you, try to reinstall the same stock system you put in before the lockdown, and about gsi, unfortunately i don't know any that work well.

Yes, I did that. I could install TWRP, but that's about it. No GSI will boot, it doesn't even reach the android boot screen, it just shows the bootloader unlock screen and reboots.

unfortunately GSI might even work at all, but the overall performance of the tablet won't allow it to be good, I remember testing some GSI when I had the tablet in my hands, nothing worked

To answer your question: Yes. This device supports both AOSP and GSI ROMs. If you are searching for a LineageOS ROM, there is one:
[ROM][OFFICIAL][13] LineageOS 20.0 for the SM-T290 (gtowifi)

It does not exist that long yet, but it is an official LineageOS 20 ROM which works, I have installed it on my SM-T290!

Device not starting/black screen after stock-ROM flash via Odin

Hello, everyone,
I tried to install LineageOS on my S10 Plus yesterday. That worked so far, but I found that it didn't have a decent camera app and the Samsung Watch wasn't that easy to connect either. So I thought I'd just go back to the Stock ROM again. I then downloaded the latest stock firmware according to this guide and installed it with Odin. The installation also runs through, after the installation the mobile phone starts and after the start screen there is an Android man with the signature "Erasing". After a few seconds, the device turns off and stays black. Even if I put it on the charger or try to restart it, nothing happens. I keep getting into download mode and recovery, but that's about it. Multiple reinstallations and resets via the recovery didn't help - the phone just won't start.
I used the CSC_... and not the HOME_CSC_... at the firmware is the right one for my phone.
Is there any way I can salvage the device? I'm afraid that something in the memory is defective now, which has nothing to do with the flashing itself. Do you have any ideas?
Many thanks!

I'm glad it worked.
I was very afraid that the phone died, what did you do for 5 days in this state?
Now I have a question in my mind: When Samsung releases an update in the future, will the bootloader and modem files be updated when we update it with odin? won't it be updated? After that, do we will always update manually as twrp? do you have any idea?
Well, I simply didn't use a mobile phone in these days. It was a very "interesting" experience, but not a huge problem. I sometimes opened WhatsApp as Windows App (interestingly, which works without phone).
I don't know, what happens at a Samsung Update, but until Android 13, I will not update (so probatly never). In our German forum (www.android-hilfe.de), a pre rooted and debloated "Stock"-Firmware is provided, but I can't install it, since my Bootloader is too new (V15 instead V14 for the ROM). When it is possible, I will install this firmware. If you are interested, here is the link: https://www.android-hilfe.de/forum/...3-2022-stock-rom-v2-0-pre-rooted.1000713.html
