Recove Data from full stock ZD551KL in bootloop - Asus Zenfone Selfie Questions & Answers

Hello,
I have a Asus Zenfone Selfie stuck in bootloop. It is full stock without root, usb debugging or unlocked bootloader. The phone just shutdown without warning and is stuck in bootloop.
I want to recover data like contacts saved in system and pictures so I cannot just wipe everything to get the phone working. I tried various methods without success.
What I thought : I need to unlock my bootloader to load (or flash) a TWRP for backup or root the phone ; but the phone is in bootloop and I cannot install the official Asus application to unlock the bootloader.
=> Is there any way to unlock the bootloader without the application ? (I found methods that required root :
Code:
adb shell ; su ...
but I have no root on the phone )
I also tried to get root without unlocking the bootloader (1clickroot, quickroot ...), but all failed (no error in terminal but can't flash TWRP).
=> Is there a way to get root without unlocked bootloader ?
I also have another zenphone selfie with root and lineage if any hack would need one copy.
Thanks
--------
Edit : I gave up and wipe the userdata partition, but I'm still interested if anyone has a hack.

Request to backup the Recovery partition before flashing it

Hi there,
before I flash my recovery partition, I want to secure it, is there any way?
"dd" is not possible without root permission. Is there any way with adb, or do I have to go the way about rooting through Kingroot/SuperSu first? (obsolete)
My Build-Number is
ALE-L21C432B194
The device is unlocked.
//Edit 1:
Kingroot cannot root my system, a request is running, but I think i will not wait for it.
i got something from cellebrite. it use "fastboot ome backdoor get" and "fastboot flash slock xxx",but i don't known what xxx is .

No Recovery

I think i made i grave mistake. I want to upgrade my p9 lite to nougat so I decided to unroot my phone. The unrooting is successful with the device still booting. So next thing i want is to flash back my stock recovery so I can update my phone through OTA (this is where I made a mistake.) I tried doing it by flashing a full MM Rom that i got directly from huawei through dload method. The flashing went smoothly or so I thought. My phone got stuck in a boot loop and I cant seem to access recovery. eRecovery is also inaccessible so I tried reflashing the full MM Rom through dload method but I can't get it to work anymore. I tried it several times with no luck. I also tried reflashing meticulus' twrp through fastboot method but I always get an error saying "remote command not allowed". The bootloader is still unlock btw.
Someone help me. I don't know what to do anymore... :crying:

The bootloader appears unlocked, and says so, but it's not...I encountered the same situation with my colleagues device, you need to unlock it either way(careful this will wipe all your data if on nougat, but if on MM after unlocking keep phone connected to PC as it reboots and quickly press vol down+ power to get back to bootloader In order to flash TWRP, this will preserve your data partition and system), and try again, you need format that data partition by using changing format to f2fs then ext4...after this reboot, if it can't, reinstall the file In dload folder and go to stock recovery(disconnect phone from PC to do this if it fails) and do a factory reset.
.... if this fails, debrand And install MM or NOUGAT for your newly debranded system.
If this fails, which is highly unlikely,PM for un orthodox methods.

The problem is I cannot access recovery anymore. After trying to flash back full rom from huawei, i cannot access recovery anymore no matter how hard i try. eRecovery is also not accessible so i cannot turn off my phone. I tried flashing twrp trough fastboot i keep getting an error saying "remote command not allowed". Dload method is not working anymore. If only I can find a way to flash twrp, then I can restore the dump i made using meticulus' twrp.

Assuming that you have the unlock code, what happens if you try unlock bootloader again irrespective what status it is now?

It shows in fastboot that the phone is unlocked with frp locked. Unlocking it again through fastboot is not possible since I always get an error saying remote command not allowed.

Hi guys, i Got the SAAAAAME Problem, this is all about what i PMd to you danerrickcuba FRP lock and bootloader unlocked. can't go to recovery, but has access to fastboot and wasn't able to do anything to fastboot.
Already fixed my phone. Had to pay 15 euros for DC Phoenix (this software saved me from bringing my phone to huawei service center to have it fix. Thank god!) so I can fix my phone. Recovery, eRecovery, Dload method working, and relocked bootloader. Currently updating my phone through OTA. Tnx danerrickcuba for suggesting methods to fix my phone....

i have the same problem
bootloader unlock and frp lock ,bootlooping,rec&e-rec destoryed
if you do not log out google /shut down "find my phone"/check oem-unlock in developer mode before downgrading or flashing ,you will get "frp lock" warning
bootlooping may come from wrong update.app. eg. i use dload method to flash rollback(5.0-B300) pkg in EMUI4.1 , my rec and e-rec are destoryed
however, i think fastboot command could do nothing to "bootloader unlock ,frp lock, rec and e-rec destoryed ". i do not know how DC-phoenix fix this and i pay a new motherboard for my mistake

recover files after soft bick

Hi everyone, i'm struck in a dead end situation. I had a soft brick the week after upgrading to nougat and due to an incorrect setting of asus mobile manager my data were not synchronized (just the phone apps and whatsapp logs). I had a stock rom, locked bootloader, no root, no custom recovery, no usb debugging enabled. I just can enter recovery mode. If i switch on the phone it goes in bootloop, I can't enter fastboot 'cause after rebooting is in bootloop again.
With adb i'm not able to copy files, the only things i get are empy folders, i can't push files 'cause I have not the permission (surely because i don't have root).
Backup with adb is impossibile because it says "now unlock your device and confirm the backup operation..." - i'm still in recovery.
The hard way to access to internal storage is install twrp, root and unloack bootloader loosing all my data. Dead end
The easy way (if really these things work) is wipe all and buy a program like drFone or EaseUS MobiSaver for Android for data recovery post-wipe.
What do you suggest?
ps: sorry but I can't add any screeshot with insert image
Thanx

Asus ZenFone 3 Max data recovery from backup

So, I have a Asus ZenFone 3 Max WW-firmware, android 7. A few months ago the motherboard broke down, without any apparent reason, so i managed to pull a backup to my sdcard from stock recovery mode. Sent the phone to repair, tried to restore backup, didn't work (successful decryption, corrupted data).
Now, I rooted my phone, with the Magisk method, installed the patched boot in the bootloader, restored the backup. I ran the system check from the default recovery, which told me that some system files are corrupted or missing. So i supposed that the data (pictures) i want to retrieve are there, and then installed the twrp in the bootloader (ADB won't let me install it in the recovery partition, which is locked and not unlockable).
I already tried adb commands, phone is not recognized in adb, i can run the sideload mode, but it returns "error:closed", when i boot into fastboot i can only put another bootloader. Device is recognized in fastboot and sideload modes.
I have no idea of the decryption password, probably i had a fingerprint unlock at the moment, for sure no "regular password".
Any suggestion on how to recover these pics? Maybe also unpack the .backup files from pc
Thanks in advance!

How to root Xperia L1?

I typed the code into my keypad and it went to system settings and it said I can't bootloader unlock this phone. Apparently I need this to grant permission for root. How do I root this particular phone? I managed to get a systemless root on my galaxy s5 by using TWRP to flash Majisk, although TWRP doesn't work for this phone. How can I actually root this phone. I would prefer to root with Majisk but honestly, I'd appreciate to know any way that I can really. Much appreciated!
if the unlock bootloader ALLOWED : is NO
then sorry sir
you cannot root this device!
There is a version of TWRP recovery for this phone which you have to flash to the boot partition, but I think in order to do this you need to have your bootloader unlocked. If your service menu says this option is disabled, then you're out of luck. :/ Sorry.
1. Go to Sony Developer site. Get bootloader unlockin code for your IMEI.
2. Dowload flashtool 9.25 with drivers.
3. In Developer menu tick allow OEM unlocking and USB debug.
I did it for my. It was not allowed to unlock bootloader first, but flashtool does it (in two steps)
i unlock the bootloader ,but i cant root this phone.
i try many ways but its faild.
plz help me to root my phone
old post I know, but did you get this rooted at all? as I have the phone (5 years now) and want to get a different OS on it to de-google it - but I'm new to it all, I have flashed firmware on other devices but never ventured into mobiles
cheers
