Unable to move widgets on desktop - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

I am 100% stock with latest update, I have never played with the system and been official from day one.
I use Google now launcher.
Today I noticed I can no longer move my widgets, if I long press them I get a message (see picture) saying Google has stopped and normally the last app used reopens.
I can move app shortcuts easy enough by long pressing, just widgets are a problem.
Restarting the phone does not help, any ideas how to solve?

Yesterdays update of "Google" solved this problem and I'm 99% sure it was caused by a "Google" update a few days ago so all good now.

Weird issue with widgets in Cyanogen 4.2.1

I just upgraded from Cyanogen 4.0.4 to 4.2.1
So far everything seems to be working well, but I'm noticing this strange and really annoying bug with Widgets. It seems that whenever I'm dragging from one home screen to another, the image of the widget is replaced with whatever it looked like when the desktop was first loaded. This is most noticeable with Clock widgets that change every minute, but you can also see the problem with toggle switches.
For example, I load my desktop at 11:45. Five minutes later, the big clock will read 11:50. I go to drag left or right to a different home screen, and the clock suddenly changes back to 11:45. The only time that the clock ever shows the correct minute is if it's sitting still on its main home screen. I've tried it with both the default home screen and with Open Home and it's the same on both of them.
Is this a bug in the rom or did I install something wrong? It's really starting to bother me but I really don't want to revert back to 4.0.4 if I don't have to.
Have you tried version 4.2.2
I just upgraded to the latest release (4.3.1, I think) and the problem is still there.

Widgets don't update unless you go to the tabs

So I tried a forum search and Google search but I came up short; hopefully the community can help answer this question for me. I'm not sure if this is normal or not, or maybe I'm spoiled by Sense on Android. I am running Elegancia v8.5, if that makes any difference.
The widgets on my HD2, for example, like weather and Twitter, will not update by themselves, even though i have them both set to update automatically. For Twitter, I even have it so I get an audible tone when it updates and there are new tweets, but I only actually get a notification when I restart my phone.
The weather itself, on the Today screen, will stay the same temperature and won't update until I go to the weather tab, then it will update. I didn't turn off my phone for two days, nor did I go into the weather tab over that period of time, and the weather was the same until I finally went to the tab, then it updated at that point and time.
When I was running Sense on my old Android device, I would have Twitter update every hour, and every hour, on the hour, I would get a notification and an audible tone, unlike with Sense on WinMo.
In addition, the weather would update every hour as well from the home screen, without me having to open up the weather application.
Getting on to the point, is this normal operation? If not, what am I doing wrong that it won't update like it is supposed to. If it is normal, is there anything I can do to make it work like I want it to work, or am I just going to have to deal with it?
Thanks in advance.
I'm running stock ROM and my weather updates in the background, and it is always current when I slide to it. I dont' use twitter so I can't answer that one.

Clock widgets stop working on ICS

I have been seeing an issue on my Arc S where, after playing something quite memory intensive (such as Draw Something). when I return to the home screen my clock widget is not showing the correct time (see screen shot - note the time in the top-left is different to the widget). It's driving me nuts. Any ideas? Here's what I know:
I have seen this on GB before back when I first got my Arc S in December last year. Again when using a lot of memory (Maps for example). So it isn't necessarily a new issue.
It is much worse since the official release of ICS. I don't remember if this happened on the beta but it's possible I wasn't using my phone to play as many games.
It affects all the clock widgets I've tried. I have tried the supplied analogue clocks, digital clocks and the HTC Sense 4 clock pictured.
Sometimes if I leave the screen on the clock will sort itself out.
Sometimes it stays like this for good until the widget is deleted and re-added.
Sometimes locking the screen for a little while will fix it.
A full reinstall doesn't fix this.
I am now on 4.0.4 (clean install last night) and the issue persists.
I am running the stock ICS kernel with CWM (from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591279)
I know of one other user having this issue (and he's on Arconium)
I think this is probably an issue with the Sony Launcher but any suggestions are welcome because it's most annoying that I can't even rely on my clock widget to tell the right time!
I might try the Nexus launcher and see if the problem persists.
So I tried the stock ICS launcher (Launcher2) and the same problem exists.
Perhaps this is a kernel problem.

Click to collapse
Your clock widget gets killed due to out of memory when you run heavy applications . See "Running Services" at Settings>Applications. You will notice that the widget is 'restarting'.
Sent from my LT15i using XDA
So why doesn't it restart properly? Seems odd. Even if the launcher reloads completely the clock stays "stuck".
Guess I'll have to live with it.
I could give SuperCharger a go and try to make the clock widget HTK...
This also happened to me while I was on Gingerbread, and I was unable to find a solution...
P.S. I accidentally pressed thanks button on your last post rec71, LOL

[Q] Google Chrome issue after 4.4.2 update

Hey guys
This is something new! Never seen it before! Anywhere!
After 4.4.2 update, my google chrome is having a problem.
I think the screen shot below is clear!
"Sooo, i cant upload pictures with my tab using chrome!!! This is another issue i guess!!!
The screen shot is a black screen, with a new tab icon only on top, whitch is not working, nothing else. Not a chrome logo in the midle, nothing"
It happens every time i run chrome, i have to end the app, (i have a commad for it in gmd gesture control)
Then remove it from recent apps then run it again to maks it work.
I unistalled all of its updates, cleared apps cash and data. Reinstalled updates, none helped.
In 4.2.2, when i opened the app, it used to show my favorites and i could open a new tab, or open my fav tabs.
Can anyone help?
Any suggestions?

Stock Music lock screen widget suddenly vanished.

My attempted search ended up applying for lock screens with pins and a bunch of other irrevelant issues. I noticed since I rooted I get a BUNCH of random issues like the rotation breaking and a solution is to add libgnustl_shared.so in a directory and reboot which makes me think this has a stupid simple solution but long story short:
My s4's stock music lock screen widget is missing and everything from its built in sound picker and its regular widget are still there. I've done an Odin restore but that didn't help, its not the launcher and it didnt appear in safe mode either.
