5 ways Google Pixel 3 camera pushes the boundaries of computational photography
https://www.dpreview.com/articles/7...s-the-boundaries-of-computational-photography

What led me to these articles was I was looking for a good app to bracket exposures to edit in Lightroom and I also have HDR Photomatix Pro to see what I can do there. Any thoughts on apps to bracket photos with this phone? I know that the HDR+ setting does this to some extent as discussed in these articles. But just wondering what techniques and apps and settings other people are using. Thanks.

Xperia Z camera samples against the iPhone 5 & Oppo Find 5

As we approach the launch of the Sony Xperia Z (C660X) we will no doubt see plenty of camera samples from the device as well as samples compared to other flagships of the day. To get the ball rolling, we have a number of camera samples below which compares the Xperia Z against the Apple iPhone 5 and Oppo Find 5.
What you see below are not the raw images themselves but 100% crops compared. Obviously there is a mega pixel difference between the Xperia Z/Oppo Find 5 which have 13MP CMOS sensors versus the 8MP sensor on the iPhone 5. The Xperia Z appears to come out on top in our view, with the HDR function working particularly well in a few shots.
Have a look :

can you post the full sized images?
Crops are good but a better comparison is with the full sized image as well

360 photo...a clarification needed....

I was just reading the review of the SGS 4 on GSMArena for fun and came to see something weird (according to me). Maybe am just completely missing something.....any help would be good
My SGS 4 seemingly lacks the 360 panorama mode. but on the review, it indeed had the 360 panorama as a mode to choose from.
take a look at the screenshot of the different modes from the review.

also I quote from the review...
"Let's go over the different modes. There are standard modes like Rich Tone (HDR), Panorama, Night and Sports. Panoramas are pretty impressive, they go a full 360° circle or more and can be as big as 60MP (note that if you hold the phone vertically, the panorama image will have nearly more than twice the resolution). "
"Then we get into the more interesting shots. 360 photo is Samsung's name for Photo Sphere, which creates a spherical panorama, similar to those in Street View. "
am using wanamlite 1.8 with many many modifications of my own,but personally I have never ever seen that 360 panorama mode on my S4 ever. am using it for some 6 months or so....
awaiting answers, please don't bash

Is the camera really that bad?

I was willing to overlook the ois/eis due to overall specs but after seeing camera quality I dont think I'll be buying this. Video recording quality could have been better

to be honest my old phone mate 8 camera ıs better than nubia . and yes vıdeo ıs rıght.
Can someone upload camera comparison please
You can compare images of the Oneplus 5, Xiaomi Mi6, Samsung S8 and Nubia Z17 in this review: https://www.chinahandys.net/flagship-vergleich-oneplus-5-vs-galaxy-s8-vs-xiaomi-mi6-vs-nubia-z17/
You need to scroll down to the camera section or maybe use google translate to read the text. cheers
Anyone tried the modified google camera app?
Here you go, took a photo.
It's not that bad. I'm on the Mokee rom using the Nubia camera app (not the google one) in portrait mode. It's not OMG-DSLR quality, but it's not garbage. Here's a picture I took with the Nubia Z17 on Mokee. Sorry - don't own any other phones to post a comparison.

Most out of MI A2 stock camera app

Just wanted to share way I found to get most out of MI A2 camera without rooting and installing Gcam.
First of all use HDR with contrast at lowest, other 2 settings should be best kept at normal. This ensures you get every detail retained in the photo, for some reason Xiaomi did awful job with adding contrast to photos and crushes all blacks.
Then I played with snapseed way too much to create filter that I can apply to all photos as a default, filter that brings back contrast without sacrificing detail. Lowest contrast setting also reveals some indigo noise Xiaomi tryed to hide by crushing blacks and I found good compromise with that too.
Just go to qr looks in snapseed and scan image below, then you can find filter in styles menu and apply it.
So here it is, so happy with it.
