stuck in TWRP boot loop - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

Hi,
I am in a pickle of my own doing, of course. I followed this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BT6P5m1XGpw) and now I can only get either the screen that has two Asian languages and English on reboot, or I can get into TWRP.
How do I get it to boot to an OS, any version at this point?
Here are some details:
I have an unlocked boot loader A6013
I was running 9.0.12 and wanted 9.0.13
Using Android File Transfer, I moved Magisk-v18.0.zip, twrp-installer-fajita-3.2.3-2.zip, and OnePlus6TOxygen_34_OTA_020_all_1904032212_38e22c8b9abd42e3.zip into the download folder.
I then rebooted into TWRP recovery, installed twrp-installer-fajita-3.2.3-2.zip
Rebooted to recovery again, and installed OnePlus6TOxygen_34_OTA_020_all_1904032212_38e22c8b9abd42e3.zip
Then I installed twrp-installer-fajita-3.2.3-2.zip again.
Then I rebooted to recovery and tried to install Magisk-v18.0.zip, but found that my directory structure is all mangled with folders named like this "6MTjdFQ0IJuqeJ0kD4vzTB" etc...
I can't find the Download folder anywhere.
Booting normally only gives me the three option of two Asian language options or English. Choosing English gets me the menu to Wipe Data and Cache, Advanced or Exit. Under Advanced I can Reboot to Fastboot, Reboot to recovery or Ver 2.0. Reboot to Recovery send me back to the two Asian languages, etc.
I can boot to TWRP by pressing Vol+ and Power, at which point I have all those options (Install, Wipe, Backup, Restore, Mount, Settings, Advanced, Reboot). I can also see all the "mangled" folders on Android File Transfer, and can sideload things, but dragging and dropping any file into the AFT window is rejected.
Any help would be super appreciated. Please let me know if I didn't give enough information.
Gratefully yours,
Chris El Stupido.

Thanks, I downloaded the 9.0.13, and 9.0.12 versions, I installed the Qualcomm drivers, and see the phone under ports as "Qualcomm" and keep getting the error "Images do not match with the phone!"
All I can do is fastboot mode.
I'm using the stock red OnePlus cable, Windows 10, signature disabled, arghh.
Any tips?

Thanks, I downloaded that Tool All in One app as well as Fastboot and ADB for Windows.
By way of review, by phone only boots to the Fastboot screen showing:
Product Name: sdm845

Baseband Version: [blank]
Serial Numbr: 7faf37cb
Secure Boot: Yes
Device Status: unlocked
In AIO:
- it is not autodetected under Model Auto-Detect
- Under Bootloader, the Bootlaoder Status shows "your bootloader is Unlocked"
- Under Rebooter, I can reboot the phone
- Under REcovery Flasher and Root, when I choose TWP 3.2.3 OP6T, and press Flash I get:
- Booting TWRP...
- Sending "boot.img" (30288kb) . OKAY
- Booting . Failed (remote: "failed to load/authenticate boot image: Load Error')
- fastboot error: Command Failed
- Waiting the TWRP boots...
- * daemon not running; starting now at tcp:5037
- * daemon started successfully
nothing happens after that in the terminal window, or on the phone.
What am I missing ? sigh, many thanks for your help.

After 6 hours upgrading from 9.0.12 to 9.0.13 I have learned my lesson. Not sure it was worth a 0.0.01 update. Yikes!
Thanks to all! Your ideas and support were essentil to my sanity and the process.

is there a tool for oneplus 6? or t6.

Xiaomi Redmi 2 2014811 bricked after updating SuperSu binary in recovery?

I'm not rly good with electronics etc, my phone came with root access permissions via Security MIUI app so I installed SuperSu to manage it easier (MIUI app reqiured to manually check each app to allow access), no custom ROM or anything installed, the way it happened was
1. updated supersu from google play
2. entered supersu app,it asked me to update su binary
3. I clicked yes through recovery
4. it rebooted and got bootlooped.
It's stuck at the "mi.com" screen when turning on, can't go into recovery, fastboot mode only shows an image of Miui mascot without any fastboot options. I've followed some tutorials online and got the thing below from minimal adb.

Fastboot will show that android icon only.
No fastboot options will be available there.
Now you need to perform some steps to recover your device..
Note - Your data will be wiped. Also, remove memory card (if any).
Now let's start the process -:
Download MIUI Fastboot ROM file.
Here's the link..
1GB RAM model - http://update.miui.com/updates/v1/fullromdownload.php?d=wt88047_global&b=F&r=global&n=
2GB RAM model - http://update.miui.com/updates/v1/fullromdownload.php?d=wt88047_pro_global&b=F&r=global&n=
Also extract this file and put in C Drive.
Now turn your PC on..
And install latest Mi flash tool. http://api.bbs.miui.com/url/MiFlash
Turn your device off. By pulling battery. (Assuming that your device is in bootloop).
Go to fastboot mode (power + volume down)
Now turn your PC on.
Open Mi flash tool.
Connect your device.
Click on refresh button in flash tool.
Now, it will show some random numbers. (This is your device).
Now, select your ROM fastboot file which you downloaded and extracted.
After that, choose 'flash all' and click Flash..
It will take some time.
After that your device will be rebooted.
Voila! Your device is back to life!

[Q] Bricked - after TWRP restore - unsuccessful

It is the same problem as written here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8...awei-p8-lite-2017-pra-lx1-brick-trwp-t3660664
I've followed every steps, but my phone is still bricked.
My build version is (I guess?) PRA-LX1C432B100
I tried several firmware builds to restore on, but when I try to install it (by pushing POWER / VOL - / VOL +) :
- PRA-LX1C530B130 : firmware versions mismatch
- PRA-LX1C33xxxx : can't install, I don't remember error message but surely the same as the above one.
- PRA-LX1C432B128 : "Installing update" at 5% then "Software install failed" with sub message "Get help from http://www.emui.com/emotiondownload?mod=restore"
I followed the rooting method from a french website that was for build PRA-LX1C432B100 but I can't find this firmware anywhere.
Can someone have the link ? Tried with Firmware Finder.. Now i'm downloading from needrom but still don't know if it's for the good build version...
When the phone boots, it displays :
- HW Logo
- Warning about the BL
- HW logo
- blank
- HW logo
- Warning about the BL
- erestore
When trying to download and reboot from erestore, it says "Getting package info failed" and thus, can't download.
----
TWRP
I also tried to flash PRA-LX1C530B130 update.zip, but I get the exact same thing as here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4008385&d=1484772172

Any way to unbrick this d*mn thing ?
I need help, thank you.
Your phone is locked. Try the unlocking by huawei unlockcode.
Thank you for this fast answer,
though, where do I enter the code(s) ?
I went to https://tools.texby.com/unlock-codes/huawei/ to obtain my code, is that correct ?
I entered fastboot, no devices found with "huawei code writer"
Same with recovery mode and eRecovery :

Ok., then flash the stock recovery again and make a factoryreset.
I can't find the stock recovery on internet nor on Firmware Finder. Do you know where I can find PRA-LX1C432B100 ?
I flashed many times on differents build versions those files :
recovery.img
boot.img
system.img
cust.img
Do I need to only flash the stock recovery (if I can find it..) to make everything else work ?
if I have no stock system nor stock boot, will it boot ?
And by "stock" I mean "stock for my device" because I've tried many stock images that end up in erecovery, even after a factory reset in the stock recovery.
-- EDIT --
With the mobile app, it says that the PRA-LX1C432B100 has been removed from the server.
Flash TWRP and see if it starts there.

Download and install TWRP recovery. Special thanks to @shakalaca for the first TWRP builds for our device!
Warning!
Always have your original firmware, recovery and boot files in case things don't go as expected
Backup all of your personal data!
Prerequisites
Adb and Fastboot installed. I recommend you to install it from HERE.
Drivers installed. Try using these or Universal ADB Drivers
Download
Grab the recovery img file from any of the mirrors:
MEGA (Shakalaca builds)
AndroidFileHost
Try it!
This is for you if you just want to temporary boot into TWRP recovery without replacing your current installed recovery. In case you need to flash a single zip, or just becuase it's your will not to install it!
Connect your device to your computer and boot it into bootloader mode. Turn off the device and press Volume up + Power button. Or by using adb command:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Now open a terminal window inside the folder where the twrp recovery img file is placed and run the command:
Code:
fastboot boot <twrp img file name>
This command will NOT replace yout current recovery, it will temporary boot into TWRP recovery. This means once you are done using it, reboot your device and you will still have your current recovery untouched.Install it!
In order to install TWRP and replace your current recovery follow the next instructions.
Connect your device to your computer and boot it into bootloader mode as described in the previous step. Now open a terminal window inside the folder where the twrp recovery img file is placed and run the command:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery <twrp img file name>
Done! Enjoy your fresh installed TWRP recovery!
Reserved...
Thanks
Just a heads up, With shaka's TWRP for the zenfone 3 zs550kl, I recieved ERROR 7 when flashing the Android 7 zip file. Flashed stock recovery and everything was fine.
Tried after that to boot from TWRP and it never booted into android, gave it a good 20mins. Figured you might want this information here.
Thanks for the development!

Can anyone tell me how to resolve this because i want to flash custom roms but i cant because i cant go to recovery mode..
Help me please.
Sorry if there was a topic like this, but i can not find a solution to this problem.
Now i see when i go to ADB folder and write the command " adb reboot recovery " after the reboot it says " No Command " and i cant do nothing .. I cant flash.

If you mean this screen ^ that is a normal screen that appears, with every power up / restart, after the bootloader has been unlocked.
I think of it as a "red badge of courage".
As to the question about adb commands, what is it that you are trying to accomplish?
Some more information is needed to help you.
What is your model (h870, us997)?
Are you sure you properly installed twrp (reboot to bootloader, fastboot flash recovery twrp.img)?
Which version of twrp did you use (official, Melina, eliminater's (recommended))?
Regarding your adb problem - do you fail to reboot to recovery using adb from within? Have you tried to turn it off and on again?? I mean, turn it off and try the button combination to enter recovery (turn on holding vol- and power, when logo appears, release power and quickly press again and keep holding both until "factory reset", confirm twice).
Information is key!
PS as the previous poster wrote - if you unlock your bootloader you get the warning screen, just ignore it.

the "your device cannot be checked for corruption" screen is normal, it happens when you unlock the bootloader, no issue there, in order to install TWRP you must:
1. plug your phone in and type 'adb reboot-bootloader' to boot into fastboot mode
2. flash the twrp image via 'fastboot flash recovery TWRPIMAGENAME.img'
3. This is important!: type 'fastboot reboot' and hold the rear button and volume down during the shutdown!, when the LG logo shows up quickly release JUST the rear button and press/hold it again, you should see a factory reset prompt screen, press yes both times, and you should be dumped into TWRP, at this point you can reboot from within TWRP and you should be fine.
Explanation:
the stock LG rom with overwrite the recovery if it determines it has been changed, by booting to TWRP before booting the ROM, TWRP will modify the ROM to stop it from overwriting the recovery allowing TWRP to stay after booting.
I hope this helps

THANK YOU SO MUCH .. It works .. The problem was in the buttons.
I have another problem.. When i try to go to recovery..the only what i see is the logo of TWRP and then the phone just reboot and i cant do nothing.. The phone is h870. What i have to do to have normal TWRP because i want to root it..
Try another twrp version. For Oreo afaik only Melina and Eliminater (which is a continuation of Melina) work. I recommend Eliminater's version, it's up to date (v3.2.3) and backup works - at least for me. I'm on H870 Oreo 20b.
For Nougat I have no experience, as I got my phone recently and never downgraded. But as I understand it from others' experiences, for full custom ROM functionality (e.g. fingerprint) Nougat bootloader is preferable. Search the forum, the information is there!

Yes, I use Melina TWRP, flash Version rel_o2 (or latest) using the method I said above.

TWRP for LENOVO Tab M10 FHD - TB-X606F?

Hello, Possessing two tablets of this brand, I was wondering if a custom recovery existed for this one, I can look everywhere on all the forums, Russian, English, etc ... But, I do not find.
If anyone can create one with this SOURCE CODE from the tablet that would be super nice.
I succeded to install twrp on my lenovo x606F.
1) extract recovery.img from a downloaded full firmware
2) download "Mediatek (MTK) Auto TWRP recovery porter by Team Hovatek" v. 1.6 and use it to create a twrp.img from your recovery
3) flash your twrp image by adb:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
4) then flash an empty vbmeta.img that you find on team hovatek site by this command (Method 3 - Flashing vbmeta https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-32719.html ):
fastboot --disable-verity flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
5) reboot in recovery. You will receive a message that your partition is encrypted. tap "cancel" and follow the steps indicated on this page (Method 3 - Patching fstab in /vendor partition using TWRP + Text editor https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-30160.html ). You have to backup on your microsd your two fstab.* files in /vendor/etc folder and then modify as indicated. Then, by twrp, overwite them on your original files.
6) reboot in android and flash your original recovery
7) reboot in your stock recovery and make a full data erase. YOU LOST ALL YOUR PERSONAL DATA.
8) reboot in android and reinstall twrp recovery
9) reboot in your full working twrp recovery and check if it is all ok.
When you boot in your twrp, your screen is black, so you have to push power button to light your screen. You can fix it
by checking all three option in magisk manager (keep encryption, keep verity and recovey mode) and reinstall magisk root.
I'm not responsable for any damage on your device. Sorry for my english

Are you sure? TWRP Recovery Porter says that vbmeta.img must be flashed BEFORE twrp image.
I made several attempts to install twrp. When I succeeded, I installed vbmeta.img after twrp. But, during my previous attempts, I had already installed vbmeta. So, it is possible that the right steps are to install it first.
So, did anyone else succeed with these steps?

Nope. I tried 3-4 times, no way. The only result is that my tab's clock becomes late 11k seconds after each reboot
Guys someone has a working twrp image for android 10?

I just rooted Lenovo M8 FHD TB-8705F (Android 9) using the Hovatek Method 3 guide:
flashed empty vbmeta
flashed boot.img created by Magisk
I tried the steps above with the TB-X606F on Android 10 (I used the lenovo recovery tool to rescue os and ended up with android 10) and I am unable to get it working. If I flash the generated twrp image and the vbmeta one (doesn't matter which order) and reboot recovery I get a black screen and no amount of pushing the power button gets the screen to turn on. I have not tried the boot.img file generated by Magisk yet. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Hi all,
I got my TB-X606F today and I'm having a hard time getting fastboot to work. I installed the official MTK driver from google and in my device manager its visible as Android ADB Interface
on my tablet I see the fastboot mode in the lower left corner.
fastboot devices shows nothing on cmd.
Any ideas?
OS Windows 10
MOD EDIT: See here- https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...sb-driver-installer-tool-for-windows.3999445/

I have the same problem and can't proceed rooting for this reason.
adb works fine. Device is shown, commands like reboot into fastboot mode works fine. But "fastboot devices" does not show an entry.
I've tried to (re-) install the drivers CDC, VCOM, ... several times. I'v tried the "Latest ADB Fastboot and USB Driver installer tool for Windows". Doesn't work.
In device manager, Android Bootloader Interface is shown with an error.

To fix this update your driver to Samsung's adb interfrance and it will work.
I got my TB-X606F rooted but struggle to install TWRP. I believe I'm on Android 10, the latest? I used [Hovatek] Mediatek Auto TWRP Recovery Porter V1.7a by Team Hovatek because I couldn't find version 1.6. I got the recovery.img directly from TB-X606F_S300007_200923_BMP.zip. I select Android 10 in the Android Version and output the TWRP recovery. Then I flashed and flashed the vbmeta (both the version from my zip file and the version from Hovatek. Then I flashed using multiple instructions. When I boot to recovery, it just gives the orange box screen then eventually fully boots to OS. Anything I'm forgetting?
I upgraded to Android 10. I installed again twrp by "Mediatek Auto TWRP Recovery Porter V1.7a". Android 10 version don't work well. "Pie Kernel 4.9.117" version works perfectly. The steps I follow are similar to my previous post. Insted of "forceencrypt" there is "forcefdeorfbe" in fstab.mt6765 file.
