[boot.img ROOT] Lemfo LEM4 Pro Root Pack DM99 (MTK6580 5.1 Smartwatch) - Other SmartWatches

Hi All!
After few tries i successfully rooted Lemfo LEM4 Pro full Android Smartwatch. In attachment prepatched boot.img (with Magisk) and scatter file you need. You can flash it through SP Flash Tool, MTK Droid Tool or Miracle Box. I used the last one (Version 2.82).
You can easily find it googling (not much).
I also tried (unsuccessfully) to flash TWRP. Not much time lost about it!
I remember that watch is MTK6580 based and it is 5.1 based.
Happy rooting.
P.S. Feel free to install Magisk after this, and to thank me
Never tried on DM99, but it has exactly the same OS.

Could I have instructions to root, please? Thank you

I do not see no file called boot.img but i see only a file called boot.bin

+1 on some instructions, I don't want to mess up the process...

Please explain in detail step by step

Auto Boot
How can you even run the patched boot.img in SP Flash Tools - my device auto-boots whenever the USB is attached.
SPFT's needs your device off to run it so couldn't even get to that step. Any ideas?

True that - despite the autoboot, if you press download and then connect it, it will run through it before it tries to auto-boot. You may get brom error but it will still go through.

Here is a step by step guid for how to root Lemfo Lem4 Pro for the sake of hacking.
1 - Download the ROM file from https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-2z9RB3kb71ZWu85ST0_clsa7MjzMSJY/view
2- Download the magisk patched boot.img from https://drive.google.com/open?id=1hJSUT9JYfpC-NqCiKYzLMidmStxxz9bD
3- Replace the downloaded boot.img with the boot.img present at the ROM file.
4- Shut the watch off
5- Open SPFLASH tool, select the required .bin file and scatter.txt file.
6- Hit download(watch USB is disconnected at this stage)
7- Plug the USB cable of the watch
8- Wait for the flash to finish.
10- Once the watch is booted. Install the magisk manager, it will reboot and you are good to go

Hi
do you know if this needs a certain version of the rom or will it work on any
My firmware version is V1.4_20181117
so just wondered if you did it on this version or an earlier one ?
thanks

Can someone answer a question for me, which bin file needs selecting for downloads? any of the 3 available within the ROM file all give errors "LIB DA not match, please re-select".

you're not supposed to change the Download-Agent, change it back to MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin and it should be fine

So, I've switched the bin back to MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin. Selected MT6580_Android_scatter.txt. Clicked download and nothing happens.
I've tried the above with the watch connected and without. I feel like something should happen in SPFLASH that isn't. Should the dropdown in SPFLASH be set to download only, Firmware Upgrade or Format All + Download?

the dropdown should be set to firmware upgrade or alternatively to download only. You should press download and then connect the watch to the computer while it is off. If it doesn't work it could be problems with the cable or with the drivers

Sorry to keep replying, this is really problematic. So, keeping my watch unplugged at this point.
I kept MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin for the download agent but got a "rom[boot] checksum mismatch" when selecting the skatter.txt file.
I read that moving the checksum.ini file to another location fixes that, which it did. But when I click download nothing happens. I think I'm supposed to see the download finish right? nothing seems to happen.
I don't have the watch connected at this point, I should connect the watch via usb after the download is successful?
EDIT: right I think I'm a step closer, I needed to install the MediaTek USB driver Download Lemfo Lem4 Pro USB Driver (official) (gsmmobiledriver.com) this time after I connected the powered off watch it downloaded successfully and flashed the package.
EDIT2: The additional step needed is to install Magisk Manager and to make sure the latest version is installed. Finally I'm rooted. Phew.

did you install magisk manager as it says in point 10?

I did and it worked, but there were several reboots required before Magisk sucessfully rooted my device. Also, when adding a magisk addon module the watch got caught in a bootloop which resulted in me needing to re-flash stock and starting again. It's a fussy device and a real shame there is no way to update android to something other than 5.1. 6 is where the permission management were added which is a big deal as far as security considering the watch origin.

Managed to get cwm and root with this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...vo-a3500-h-t2879208/post55491817#post55491817
Modified the guide for Lenovo A3500-FL!
EDIT: Also some users have reported that this guide doesn't do the trick or is out-dated, so copypasted the guide from this post here.
Guide
1. Download attachment cwmRecovery.zip and download latest Flash_tool (version 5.1352.0) can be downloaded from here)
1.1. Enable USB-debugging. (How to do this)
2. Manually install the drivers from the attachment a7_40_drivers.zip for the LenovoTablet before plugin it to computer (win7 dirvers work for win8 too).
2.1. To install unsigned/uncertified drivers on Windows 7: http://en.kioskea.net/faq/3914-windows-7-how-to-install-unsigned-drivers
2.2. To install unsigned/uncertified drivers on Windows 8: http://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how...8.1-so-that-you-can-install-unsigned-drivers/
2.3. After you have disabled the driver signature verification, you can install the drivers like this: Right click My computer, Manage, Device Manager, right click your computer at the top, Add Legacy hardware, next, Install plapla manually, next, Show all Devices, Have a Disk.., Browse to the driver folder where you unzip them, choose example windows7 and the 64 version (win7 drivers work for win8.x too), install every device. Then follow the guide.
(Note: Otherwise Windows only installs the normal automatic drivers and its more difficult to install the other drivers.)
2.4. Plug your device to PC.
3. Download the latest supersu zip file (version 2.46) from attachments or from https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/
3.1. Move the zip.-file to the Sdcard.
4. Turn off your device.
5. Unpack cwmRecovery.zip
6. Run Flash_tool.exe with Admin Rights.
7. Chose Scatter-Loading and choose MT6582_Android_scatter.txt (in Recovery folder).
7.1. Now you will see checekd only one checkbox - recovery, if not click on it and choose recovery.img
7.2. Press Download.
7.3. Connect your device.
7.4. Wait few seconds.
8. Have CWM on your device .
9. Unplug your device.
10. . Boot to cmw recovery by turning off your device. Then press and hold VOL DOWN + VOL UP and then also press and hold POWER for about 7 seconds.
10.1. Choose " Install zip from sdcard." (To confrim always use the Power Button)
10.2. Choose "zip from sdcard".
10.3. Select SuperSU-v2.46.zip from sdcard and apply.
10.4. Have a rooted tablet.
It might be necessary to always flash the CWM with the Flashtool directly before you startup the device. Otherwise it will start the original AndroidRecovery again.
It might also be necessary to use different drivers from here.
If the supersu zip doesn't install, try toggling the signature verification to disabled from cwm->install zip from sdcard->toggle signature verification.
Tested and working on Levono A7-40 3500-FL with kitkat update, build number A3500FL_A442_01_25_140823_SE, from ota. Attached screenshot for proof. Also other people have reported that this works for later updates too, for example A3500FL_A442_01_27_141127_SE.
You can update to the latest OTA firmware by first going back to stock recovery. See the second post for the guide.
Thanks and credits go to: @Koli96 and @bobais
How to go back to stock rom/recovery and update to latest Lenovo OTA firmware update
So, it's pretty simple, you take the stock_recovery.zip from the first post, extract it, and replace recovery.img in the recovery folder with the stock one.
Then :
Quote:
4. Turn off your device.
6. Run Flash_tool.exe with Admin Rights
7. Chose Scatter-Loading and choose MT6582_Android_scatter.txt (in Recovery folder)
7.1. Now you will see checekd only one checkbox - recovery, if not click on it and choose recovery.img
7.2.. Press Download
7.3. Connect your device
7.4. Wait few seconds.
And that's it !
On a side note, if it seems stuck on a black screen with a loading circle after factory reset, you have to put the tablet in landscape mode and restart (the shutdown menu appears without any problem) - this issue doesn't seem related to recovery, but a bug within lenovo firmware and the first configuration screen.
Side note 2: The first boot after flashing new update might take 15mins.
Side note 3: After updating to the latest OTA you can go back to cwm recovery with the guide from the first post.

I got the same tablet and I also am looking for a root. :/
Another waiting for rooting lenovo owner.
Same here, i was looking for a root guide and i couldn't find anything.
Does anyone else has a problem with long charging times?
Well it charges long and the charge stays long, so no issue here.
Seems that not that many lenovos root easily, but of course this is a pretty new device(?).

Installed everything and tried vroot once again (I have tried it before).
Still not rooted. And btw that vroot at least tries to install bunch of bloatware crap on the pc.
Edit:
I would suggest for anyone who installed Vroot to your pc to scan the whole pc after you uninstall the vroot.
Here are the scanning tools:
Malwarebytes
adwcleaner
superantispyware
hitmanpro

I got a successful root by flashing Recovery.rar from lenovo-forums.ru, (it's easy to google, I'm not allowed to post links) with the included SPFlash Tool and afterwards flashing the needed SU binaryies and apk. However, this will mess up the OTA updates, and I can't find the stock recovery again.
Therefore, I really beg anyone having the stock recovery to post it, enabling us to switch between them, whenever we want to apply any OTAs.
Thanks a lot!

Well I very highly doubt that there will be any more updates for a device with this price range. And since the next android version is the L version, which requires more work than before.

Yes indeed, that's what I'm trying to do. Rooting the A3500-FL. According to the instructions you need to install the SuperSU from a zip on your SD card. When I try do that it gets interrupted every time. Installing recovery went well. So I'm not getting what I do wrong? Any ideas?

Then it starts installation, but aborts it in a few seconds. So am I booting to just a normal recovery mode and not CWM? Yup.. This is the problem. The recovery runs fine from Flash Tool and claims it installs it. (Download ok) But I still don't seem to have CWM on the device. It's just normal recovery mode. So any ideas about the CWM-installation? What could possibly go wrong? I get no error messages. Cheers.

[Unbrick][Stock] Yoga Tab 3 - How to unbrick, and restore to stock.

I work at a shop and someone brought me a Yoga Tab 3 8" tablet that was on a screen that asked for an original google account.
It was purchased without much thought because i figured it was just part of the setup.
No this is actually a Device Protection feature google has had since Lollipop apparently.
There is a way around it if anyone is interested or is in a soft brick that they can access the recovery from.
NOTE :
THIS IS FOR THE YOGA TAB 3 8" YT3-850F ONLY!!!!! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU DESTROY YOUR TABLET! PLEASE BE CAREFUL. DO NOT FLASH ANYTHING FOR WRONG MODEL. CONFIRM YOUR MODEL NUMBER BY LOOKING ON THE BACK STICKER BEFORE PROCEEDING.
You will need :
A Computer
A Micro SD Card and Adapter
A couple of hours time
Patience...
Patience........
Firstly, as always, make sure the device is charged before attempting any of this please.
Download the stock firmware from This Link.
Do not extract the firmware at all or rename it, just leave it as it is, it will take about an hour to download.
After you have the firmware downloaded move the zip file to the root of the MicroSD Card on the computer.
Eject the SDCard from the computer and put it into the Yoga Tab.
Reboot into recovery by pressing Power and Vol+ let go of Power when you see the Lenovo logo.
Once in recovery go ahead and do a factory reset/data wipe.
The next step is to actually flash the zip you put on the MicroSD earlier. You go down to apply update from SD using the Volume + and -
buttons. Power to select an option. Select the Zip you downloaded from this guide.
it will take approximately 20-30 minutes to fully install the update. after it installs it will boot up like new again, with no Google Device Protection, and it is a possible way to unbrick!

It looks like a modified package from China. I successfully installed the zip file. After rebooting, the version noted was YT3-X50F_S000022_150714_PRC (which I presumed to be People's Republic of China). The update zip does not contain any Google apps (including Play Store).

Sorry for the delay in my response, but yes, this is correct. Just flash the Google apps and you will be good to go. I'm not sure where I found the firmware but there is a link there to the download. I'm pretty sure I just dug around google alot and found a post to the firmware somewhere else on XDA but to tell you the truth it was actually really difficult for me to get google apps installed and working properly and this firmware sometimes would not flash it would just sit there saying opening update.zip for hours. Good thing the battery life on that thing was amazing.

A good starting point for this is to look into rooting and get a custom recovery. Then you can flash zip files, such as google play store.

You can flash the TWRP for the x50M and then install google apps. The recovery will not stay - it will revert back to stop recovery. Search XDA for TWRP-2.8.7.7_YT3-X50M.zip
Recover, install recovery, root
BEFORE ANYTHING.... unlock your bootloader
Install Drivers for Lenovo Tablet, So Adb can see your device
Open your Adb Command Windows (windows)
Commands!
Adb Devices ------- this should return a device Id # ... if it doesn't your drivers are not correct ....
Adb Reboot bootloader -------- this Should take you to the Big Lenovo Screen (it will stay there, this is fastboot mode)
Fastboot Devices ------- This Should Return The Device Id (except fastboot Device Id #)
Fastboot Oem unlock-go ------- This Should Unlock Your bootloader (allow flashing of custom firmwares, boot images, recoverys etc) THIS WILL WIPE YOUR DEVICE!!!!!!!!!
After unlocking bootloader
Flash this Stock Firmware (if you haven't already)
This is FULL STOCK FIRMWARE ... not an OTA zip...

Custom Built TWRP by Me... Enjoy
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1d...ew?usp=sharing
(this was based off the Twrp source that metalchef mentioned)
I recommend BOOTING it through fastboot if your only planning on flashing a few things and taking a single backup here and there... if you flash zips ALOT ... then just flash it ...
Fastboot Boot Recovery.img (this is the command you need inside of fastboot for booting recovery)
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (this is to flash recovery to tablet)
#Note# you need to put the recovery.img inside your adb folder... or drag and drop it to command window after typing "fastboot boot"
This will allow it to boot from any file path ....
To Gain Root ... Use Kingoroot , Un-intall the Superuser that kingoroot gives you ... get supersu (chainfire) from market and update the binary....
or flash supersu.zip through recovery
( I haven't tried to flash supersu because kingoroot worked) and ive exhausted so much time on the recovery ... im going to take a break ...
Afterwards .... You SHOULD have the device your seeking....
metalchef said:
That's correct; but you can just flash the Gapps 5.1.1 ("mini" package) from Cyanogenmod (that's what I did); and then once you've got superSU installed, remove the non-North American "store" apps ^_^

Nubia Z17 LITE (NX591J) ROM

Hello good afternoon.
I am a big enthusiast of the Nubia product line. I bought the model Z17 (NX563J) with Snapdragon 835.
The company has just launched the Z17 Lite (NX591J) which has a GLOBAL ROM.
I wonder if a Z17 LITE ROM is compatible with the Z17.
Could someone with experience take the test?
??????
Hello. JD tricked me and sent Z17 Lite with Chinese ROM. Can you upload your global rom on google drive?
http://ui.nubia.cn/rom/detail/46 here is the latest ROM for Nubia Z17 Lite, but i can't download it. Could someone help me and upload it somewhere else?
Hello. I have the Nubia Z17 Lite here. It was bought from geekbuying and has a Firmware called "NX591J_ENCommon_V1.03. I guess that this is a custom shop rom and not the original ROM from Nubia.
Why?
- Nubia ROM listed on the Website is already at V1.20 while mine is on V1.03 and doesn't show an update
- There are GAPPS and multilanguage included and I don't think that this is the case in the chinese original ROM
Also I wonder why you think that there is an official Global ROM for this smartphone. Can you tell me your reasons to beleave that? I think the device is only for chinese market.

I think the ROM shipped on this phone is the global version, as this is the only variant of the Z17 series (to my knowledge) to support Google Play functionality out of the box, and therefore is more intended for the global market...using online stores/apps as primary distribution channels. The regular Z17 was never intended to be sold outside China, hence why getting Gplay to work in it out of the box is a pain. OP just wants to know if this ROM is anywhere online to download.

Sure. Based on jafaroff123's description from 4pda.ru:
1. take the TWRP archive from here . Unrar it.
2. Make sure in settings your phone is with unlocked bootlader, usb debugging on and you have the ADB drivers installed (I have no file for this, if you played with other phones on youir PC, these are probably installed.)
3. Open CMD prompt in the folder where you unrared the TWRP.
4. Connect the phone with USB
5. In the CMD type in order:
adb devices
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot devices
fastboot oem nubia_unlock NUBIA_NX591J
(Return after each line and wait for the command to take effect. On step 2 here your phone should restart in fastboot mode)
5. Now start the unrared TWRP file from Windows. Do not worry, it is in Chinese. Type 3 and Return, wait for the installation.
6. Do not restart the phone. First restart in recovery mode. TWRP will load. It is in chinese. There are 2 buttons at the bottom. The right is to select language. Select English and then you will be able to navigate to find the root command in the TWRP menu.
7. After the root, there will not be SuperSU installed, but it will be rooted. Instal it from Playstore.
If anything does not work, repeat it. I managed to root on the second try.
Good luck!

Thank u very much.I manage to get twrp and root my phone. The thing is everytime i boot in twrp i must choose the language every time. And the most important is that i can't flash anything because the internal storage doesn't recognised by the twrp.Any solutions?
Also i want to ask.Can we flash magisk? Is working?
Hi. Glad you have it!
1. The language issue is like this. I use it like this. Made in China
2. If "flash" means any others apps via the Recovery, I have not tried. If you can't do it from TWRP, try the phone`s inbuilt updater as manual update. But this TWRP version is not old, maybe try some permissions issue. I am not a TWRP master myself.
3. First time hear about Magisk. Do not know if it works.
it would not be a video tutorial
I guess I'm mistaken and you can not fail me.I would be very grateful
It's my first nubia, before I had xiaomi there it was easier.
I'm lost:angel::angel::angel:

Or try Fastboot flash through CMD?

TWRP for P580 running Oreo?

Is anyone able to run TWRP on P580 running Oreo?
Im having problems with my Tab stuck on a black screen instead of recovery mode.
Please help.
Thanks!!
I found a solution if you don't need TWRP, only Magisk or Root. (Using sm-p580 german version P580KXU1CRJ7)
Short Version:
Install Magisk without TWRP with odin in AP section(google it)
Problem is: Once booted up it will tell you that you have to reset your device because the system recognizes that you modified something.
Solution: Just click on the reset button( Magisk will still be there afterwards).
Long Version
Flash the Oreo firmware onto your device.
Set it up (turn on USB debugging) (or dont, I believe you dont need it for download mode ?)
Unzip the AP part of the firmware you have flashed. You may need a modified version of 7-zip, I needed it, because it couldn't unzip lz4.
Google mcmilk 7 zip and download the github release (I hope I'm allowed to reference it, CREDIT goes to MILKY)
You need the boot.img.
Now install Magisk Manager apk.
Under its settings check " .img.tar" under "return of patched boot-images" (Something like that, mine is german)
Click on install in Magisk Manager apk.
Select make thing with boot img, use the boot.img you have extracted and copied onto your phone.
Magisk will create new patched boot img automatically, copy the finished one u find under your main storage in downloads to your pc.
Go into download mode and flash new boot.img with odin using the AP tab.
Now do the things I described in the Short Version
Afterwards install Magisk Manager Apk.
You need internet connection, because it will prompt you to allow installing additional stuff.
A message from some Security App will appear, that something is wrong.
And your device will get laggy and restart.
After that the lag will disapear
I like to use Bk disabler to remove bloatware/ other stuff to flash or back up your device
(Please dont remove any of the 3 phone apks, on Nougat it worked to remove two of them, but oreo will continuously give an error message <- I found out that you can uninstall two of them, but dont uninstall the storagedial-programm thats what gives the errormessage.)
Hope it will help you!
Worked !!!
Thank you dear. Its worked for mine in p585 oreo android....
Anyone can search mcmilk 7zip in google and download program to extract boot.img.lz4 and get boot.img :good:
use the last TWRP for Oreo.
old version makes black screen or red stripes.
go in download-mode (power+home+vol-) and install the last TWRP over with Odin.
for Oreo use the last Odin 3.13
it tested, i had the same problem :fingers-crossed:
Latest twrp dose not worked on my device but this solution work fine
I can confirm that this method does work. I used it on my SM-P580 yesterday. I would suggest that you first backup your all of your apps, contacts, photos, etc using SmartSwitch. You will need to restore everything after the tablet tells you that it needs to be reset because it wipes everything. After the restore, you will need to enter all of your accounts and passwords again but at least all of the data will be back.

It will also show on the Device Maintenance, just ignore the warning.
You can freeze some of the system apps to prevent it from showing on the notification again.

this works great! thanks!
2 side notes on the process:
1. Magisk no longer provides " .img.tar" patched files, so a tool like "Tar-tool" is required to convert the file from the ".img" type. The patched file should be renamed "boot.img" before conversion in order to be succesfully flashed by Odin.
2. like f4vr said, freeze the apps that give the error notification or just disable the specific notification. Hiding them in Magisk Hider does not seem to work
Cheers, and thanks again for the guide!
Hello Gyus,
I managed to root the device with the method posted by @amosdinh (Thank you so much). Now I'm trying to configure adoptable storage. So far I didn't achieve this goal. ADB commands doesn't work and I can't install the ASPlugin.zip needed by Root Essentials to set adoptable storage by the app.
TWRP for P585 is corrupted, gives blue/red lines screen. The dev that maintains the code is absent since march. I'm out of luck on this. If anyone have a idea to get adoptable storage on this device while using Oreo, please comment.
Thanks!

Really wish this wasn't the case. I'd actually keep this thing if it had a working TWRP.
On my SM-P580 I used Odin and TWRP I don't get the black screen but when I reboot to get into TWRP recovery mode it shows the padlock and says swipe to unlock. Tried many times bit cannot swipe and cannot get past this. All I want is to be able to use the SD card as internal storage. HELP???? Thanks!!

thanks in advanced
where can i find stock firmware?
I've just installed magisk using TWRP via command line. P580
I've just installed magisk using TWRP via command line.
Read the entire post before trying this yourself.
I installed the latest TWRP, the one that bugs and doesn't display anything, this allows to root without wiping data. I'm running the latest korean firmware for P580.
Just do this:
1. Launch TWRP and INMEDIATELY LOCK YOUR SCREEN. (I got ghost stripes that disappeared after 2 days when testing this, work with low light so you can notice your screen whenever it tuens on) Please don't forget this point, don't [temporarily] damage your screen as I did.
2. adb push Magisk-v[Current version].zip external_sd
3. adb shell
4. twrp install external_sd/Magisk-v[Current version].zip
After this you just need to install MagiskManager-v[Current version].apk and you will be all done.
But there is one thing...
If you ever get into recovery mode, there is no way out without using adb as far as I know. You can launch download mode and cancel it but you'll boot back to TWRP.
When in twrp touching your screen or any button will wake the device up and will start burning the ghost image to your screen.
So if you know of a method for rebooting to system without using adb, please let me know.
Also a solution for this would be to flash back the stock recovery, wich may or may not force to wipe system, that something that needs to be tested tho.
Update: Ok so, you can use a handy tool called MTKroot on recovery.img.lz4 to get recovery.img, then use 7z to pack it into a tar file and flash that tar file with odin (AP, same as TWRP)
This way you will not have a 0.001% chance of random boot into recovery mode and damage your screen

Did anybody unlock the bootloader and root the unit?

As topic asked.
It looks like OEM unlock (in developers settings) is hidden on US phone models
The last Samsung I made root was S5e and I am wondering is S6L possible
sadly no
Nope, Samsung hasn't even released the stock firmware yet so any development is currently halted
Can the user unlock the bootloader then?
Haven't tried it, but it should be possible
I don't know about unlocking the bootloader. This page (updated in Apr 2020) showed a way https://www.getdroidtips.com/root-samsung-galaxy-tab-s6-lite/ to root it. I haven't tried it yet. If anybody tries, please leave some comments.
Edit: how to unlock the bootloader https://gearallnews.com/how-to-unlock-bootloader-of-samsung-galaxy-tab-s6-lite-guide-2020-2/
I managed to unlock the bootloader with the tutorial on http://androidbiits.com/root-samsung-galaxy-tab-s6-lite-sm-p610-sm-p610x-easily/, but rooting with the Magisk file failed.
I think i will try it later.
The bootlader is now unlocked, so it gives me a warning on the screen every time i boot the tablet.
I have the P610 version, only WiFi, no LTE
I tried it for the second time and now succeeded.

I just read about that module. I post the info here for lazy people like me "Please note that a consequence of using this module is that Widevine DRM will fall back to using L3 instead of L1. This means that Netflix will play all content in SD quality, regardless of your subscription type"

Same here. Not a noob despite being long time lurker and not posting. I have been rooting devices forever but this one is escaping me.
Using the guide and getting a vbmeta signature failure as well. I tries 3 various firmware versions to Magisk patch the required 4 files, but get the same error every time.
So close yet so far...

Yes, it does work but won't go above SD.
I bought the S6 Lite as a replacement for a Tab Pro 10.1 (SM-T520) which was running LOS 14.1. Netflix was working, but looked like crap. Downloading prior to watching improves the quality a bit, but you could see it is SD instead of HD.
I have rooted every Android devices I have had, but this time I do not want to lose the Widevine L1 certification. The SM-T520, which was in 2014 Samsung's high end tablet (>$600), only had one update from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4....rooting was the only way to move up. I hope Samsung will support this device a little better.

I tried using this guide and am getting a vbmeta signature failure upon flashing with odin. Did you run into any issues like that when you got your device rooted? I'm also using the P610

Here is what ik did:
Starting from the step when the firmware is downloaded
Unpack the firmware with Winrar
Select the boot.img l4 file and use 7-Zip to transform it to boot.img
Transfer the boot.img file to tablet and patch the file with Magisk manager
Transfer the patched-boot.img to computer
Rename the file to boot.img
Put tablet in Bootloader-mode
Flash the boot.img with Odin 3.14
The first Block in Odin will turn green if flashing is succesfull
Now start up the tablet
In my case, a got a message that the software is damaged, i choose the option to restore to factor settings
After a few minutes the tablet booted and i installed Root-checker, rooting was succesfull

Thanks for the steps, got it working! To add a note for those reading the above comment. After renaming the file to boot.img, use 7z and 'add to archive' the boot.img to make it a boot.tar for Odin to be able to flash it.
Another thing that might help folks: The boot.img.l4z wasn't working with 7z to decompress the l4z. I installed l4z and moved the boot.img.l4z into the folder with l4z.exe. Then I ran the command 'l4z boot.img.l4z boot.img' in the folder where l4z.exe was located to get the boot.img.
Сan some one to upload a ready-made installation ROM file for direct flashing into Odin please? Cause I can not understand how to transfer and patch all this different parts together. I don't understand which files I need to marry each other
Please help to root with MAgisk tab6 lite (wifi only SM-P610).
