[OTA] Collection / HowTo get from ZUI 1.9 to latest ZUI for Z2 Pro - Lenovo Zuk Z2 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi mates,
------------------------------------------------------
for the ones who only search for OTA update packages and don't need instructions see here: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=251521
------------------------------------------------------
Finally you made it: Messed up your phone or want to make sure your phone is set back to ZUI original.
That's what I did as well several times while flashing and testing around several roms.
To avoid problems with Lenovo OTA servers I made up this thread to safely update to latest ZUI using OTA updates without needing them to download from Lenovo OTA server.
First step: Flashing ZUI 1.9 with QFIL.
Download Qpst/Qfil 2.7.472 here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=962187416754462223 and install it.
Download ZUI 1.9.104 here: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=962187416754462214
Extract ZUI 1.9.104 to C:\ZUK\ and flash it with QFIL. See here for more detailed instructions: https://forum.xda-developers.com/zuk-z2-pro/how-to/howto-flash-stock-zui-rom-zuk-z2-pro-t3928699
Second step: Flashing full OTA update to 3.5.259ST with System Updater.
You successfully booted ZUI 1.9. To see it from Chinese into English follow instruction here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFM_a3-wYD8
Download Full Update ZUI 3.5.259ST: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=890129502657584731
Connect your phone to computer.
Rename the downloaded zip file to "update.zip" and copy it to internal storage root directory of your phone.
Start System Updater App, tap on the three dots on upper right corner and choose reboot to recovery.
Your phone will now reboot to recovery asking you if it shall update the package. Accept it and let it be installed.
After installing your phone will boot up again and your ZUI version will be upgraded from 1.9 to 3.5.259.
------------------------------------------------------
OTA update packages to download (just in case anyone needs):

Congratulations, your system is up to date now.
You want to unlock bootloader now and get twrp? Go on here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/zuk-z2-pro/how-to/howto-unlock-bootloader-twrp-zuk-z2-pro-t3928705
------------------------------------------------------
I will update this post with new OTA packages once they are out.
Enjoy mates
PS: Yes, I know: latest ZUI 3.5.259ST update is a full package and not the real OTA update as this is not released yet. Anyhow it works in the same way and will not clean your system or anything. It will simply work as an update.
--> I added this here as zukfans eu may close soon and I want to avoid instructions get lost.

Nice Contribution!!, I `ve used the links you provided and dowloaded the 3.5 ZUI Version... And from there I continued with automatic OTA updates from the phone, up to 4.0.247 ST... Everything working great!, It reduced battery consumption enormously! and evrything works better (I bougth the phone with a preinstaled "Multilanguage" non official ROM, it was working awfully, and got me stuck on Android 6.0).
Thanks again!

Hello,
I've also updated to 4.0.247 ST, which runs Android 8.0. Everything seems to be fine, but I cannot get netflix to work. Play store says my device is not compatible. The apk offered by netflix on their website supports up to Android 7, so it does not work either.
I've read that the netflix app requires devices to be play protect certified in Android 8 and above, which this device is not. Does anyone know a way to circumvent this issue?
Thanks and best regards

Hey anyone has the 3.5.259 ST guide to 4? I can't auto update cause of bootloader

[Chinese]Question re: extracting 7.1.1 modem

Since the 7.1.1 update for chinese a2017 isn't full update file, can we extract the modem from it?
I want to convert my unit to US version using miflash method and I have already done this before but I get problems with signal even after flashing chinese modem from LOS thread by @Unjustified Dev. Although, this signal problem is quite specific with my carrier since I get a stable OS and signal using a different carrier/sim.
I'm thinking about doing it via twrp. Here are the steps I had in mind:
1. From b13, update to 7.1.1 via stock recovery.
2. after finishing setup of 7.1.1, I'll install twrp via fastboot.
3. back up everything in twrp.
4. miflash full b15 US version and twrp.
5. restore modem from twrp from my backup.
Do you think this will work? Or not, since B15 isn't 7.1.1?
Hopefully devs here can also share their thoughts. @ @DrakenFX @Oki @jcadduono
Thanks!
BTW, I attached a pic of what's inside the 7.1.1 update including the contents of patch folder.

You could but you probably won't have any signal, might even break wifi.
Modem/bootstack need to match device.

Upgrade from 6.0.1 to 7.0 on A2017G stock

Hi, I am looking for help to get from 6.0.1 to 7.0 on my A2017G. I am currently on B10 with an unlocked bootloader.
This is what I have tried so far:
a. Route via OTAs and zips on sdcard:
a1. B10 with stock recovery. Android works. Got here from B9 with OTA B10 installed via stock recovery from sdcard (downloaded B10 OTA from German ZTE site).
a2. Updated from Android with the Axon7_Nougat-7_0.zip OTA on my sdcard (downloaded from the German ZTE site). Miflash completes without any error message.
a3. Result: phone reboots, after Axon splash screen, phone switches to edl mode (in windows: Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008).
a4. When I reboot to recovery, I can see that the recovery is 7.0.
b. Route via OTAs and N zip via adb sideload:
b1. B10 with stock recovery.
b2. In stock recovery, "flash from adb".
b3. On windows 10 laptop: adb sideload Axon7_Nougat-7_0.zip. Result: error message "* cannot read 'Axon7_Nougat-7_0.zip' * ".. Zip opens fine on laptop.
c. Route via TWRP and leaked Nougat 7.0:
c1. B10 with TWRP recovery, version 3.1.0-0-ailsa_ii.
c2. Flash ZTE_A2017G.Nougat_leaked_09_03_2017 BootStack and StockSystem by Tron1.
c3. Result: phone reboots to Axon splash and then switches to edl mode, same as a3.
d. Route via TWRP and complete fota update fota_update_A2017GV1.2.0B01_complete.zip
d1. Same result as c.
I have experience flashing with my HTC m7 but on the A7, it seems there are many more ways to make things go wrong and I have no clue where I am going wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
Some strange things:
1) my A2017G (bought in Germany via Amazon, it says A2017G on the back sticker) reports itself as a A2017U to my windows 10 laptop.
2) in stock recovery, when trying to flash from sdcard, I receive an error message that the A7 cannot mount the sdcard.
Replica - sorry
OK, it seems this thread finds lots of readers, so maybe someone can benefit from the solution that I finally found.
These were the steps I took:
a. Starting point was B10 stock (incl recovery) and unlocked bootloader, completely wiped.
b. Only way I could get the 7.0 update (downloaded from ZTE Germany) to work was by putting the .zip on a usb stick and using an OTG cable. Then, 'update' in settings found the zip and started to update. Result was v1.1.0B01
c. As soon as I booted into 7.0, it found the OTA for v1.2.0B02 and started to install that. So, I now finally have 7.1.1 stock with unlocked bootloader.
A big thank you to @raystef66 who provided lots of practical and moral support. Much appreciated.
How can I close the thread?
@piet8stevens Hi, I have a build number ZTE A2017G V1.0.0 B11, MIFavor UI 4.0, Android 6.0.1, Kernel 3.18.20 and I'd like to upgrade to more efficient less limitative version as I have battery drain and can't remove / change google main account with my version. Would you know what's the best version, Is the one you have now better? also do you know when you mess up the upgrade and your phone doesnt work can you still factory reset?

AFAIK, you can always do factory reset. There are some good threads with all the files you need such as https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/download-center-factory-images-ota-t3606547.
Not sure what you are looking for, but I had good experiences with RR and AEX Nougat. I am currently on RR (unofficial version) N. Am just waiting for O to stabilize a bit to make the switch - see AEX thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/rom-aospextended-rom-v4-3-t3618950 . I run nanodroid and microG in order to protect my privacy from google. So, no gapps, no google maps etc... .

HUAWEI P9 LITE NRD90M(test-keys) TO MM HELP Urgent

Plzzz help im stuck I want to rollback my huawei p9 lite VNS-L31 where its build number is NRD90M(test keys) to marshmallow 6.0 help don't know what to do . Plz if you can explain step by step what can i do because i'm not good in these things , My bluetooth not workng , there no calculator , no software updater , i am not able to check if got update or not and so on......, im stuck plz help
Well hey.. first download this rollback package from this link:
http://download-c1.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=93645&version=371484&siteCode=np
Extract and move all the files to dload folder on your external SD Card then install it with the 3 button method. If there's no dload folder then create one.
So the phone will reboot and now you can downgrade to any mm rom
Now just download this mm rom from this link:
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1164/g104/v66015/f1/full/update.zip
And again extract and move the files to dload folder on your sd card.. Install with 3 button method.
Done! Everything should work now!
In case If you don't know what the 3 button method is..lol
•Power the phone off ?
•Just press and hold on POWER + VOLUME UP + VOLUME DOWN buttons
The phone will start installing the rom and that's the 3 button method ?❤
this is not working for me. it says incompatibility with current version and to download the correct version.

Man, you have to do entire procedure: unlock bootloader, install twrp for Nougat and flash oeminfo for your phone. Before that you have to put in dload folder MM firmware (B130/B131),
because after flashing oeminfo phone try to repair firmware from dload folder. If repair do not start, power off phone and power on with 3 keys combination.
Hi All,
I'm having a similar issue as lennie27 however I think I might have strayed down an incorrect path during the process of upgrading to Nougat. My device shipped with VNS-L31C16B120 with no updates available through the stock updater. I tried the Firmware Finder guides which listed options for VNS-L31C169B13x and VNS-L31C432B13x however none of these updates would work, updater would say it's incompatible with current version. I also tried manually downloading the VNS-L31C432B160 firmware and installing that with the 3 button method as well as the EngineerMenu option with the same result (found guides that stated needing to be on B160 or B161 before making the jump to Nougat). Eventually I decided to unlock the bootloader and install Nougat through TWRP and followed the obeygeekupdate-huawei-p9-lite-to-android-7-0-nougat-manually guide (can't post links ) on manually installing Nougat (stupidly never paying attention to the fact that it's a beta build guide). I've installed TWRP to the device again using the P9 Lite Toolkit v0.0.0.11 found here on XDA (used this when on MM however the upgrade seemed to restore the stock recovery) with the idea of downloading the build from the ministryofsolutions huawei-p9-lite-vns-l31-nougat-b371-update-stable-europe page and pushing that to the device instead (however now the device doesn't want to boot into recovery)
Now my only concern is, will this work? I've noticed a bit of commenting going back and forth on the ministryofsolutions site which essentially boiled down to the need for debranding the phone (apparently C19 is MTN South Africa specific and I need to debrand it and get it onto C432 Europe before mucking about with Nougat, but alas to late) which seemed to be something I should have done while on MM still. If I can find a full firmware link for VNS-L31C16B120 can I flash that through TWRP without needing to follow any prerequisite steps? So far nothing that I've tried to flash using the three button method has worked, I'd just like to get back onto an official stable firmware again.
Any advice will be appreciated

you need to install nougat recovery, not the one from the toolkit. then twrp will work and the device will boot.
to go back to 120 you need to install oeminfo, and then the update.app

Thank you for the reply, managed to come right a few hours after posting. Turned out the copy of TWRP that I had on hand was more outdated than I thought, downloaded the newest copy and that worked on the device. Additionally I managed to find a website listing just about every firmware for the phone (Including my original MTN ZA specific variant) so I downloaded that and managed to restore the phone using the three button method. Phone is back to stock now and even the unlocked bootloader nag screen is gone so I'm guessing the bootloader is locked again as well One day when I'm brave enough to attempt this again I'll look at debranding the phone and getting it onto a C432 based ROM before getting it onto Nougat again.
phone bricked
hello guys! im currently on lineage os 14.1 by meticulus, i wanna revert back to stock mm but i cant. i flashed the custom rom from mm using twrp recovery by meticulus, but now i cant even boot into erecovery! can you pls help me!:crying: DLOAD method doesnt work!

P9 Lite VNS-L31 - Can't upgrade to nougat after rollback

Hi all,
i own a p9 lite that was on Nougat VNS-L31C432B381 and i decided to rollback to MM. Following Huawei website instructions I downloaded two packages (rollback package and MM) and with 3 buttons method I flash first the rollback package and then MM. All went right and the ROM was stable. After a while of testing (that's why i went to MM), I decided to upgrade to nougat again. From updater it download and install the new android version (1.25 GB). After reboot I noticed that some system app was missing (file manager first). At every reset/factory reset some system app disappear. I repeated the procedure to rollback and upgrade again with the same result. The only way to use the device was to reflash MM and don't upgrade. Here some information I found:
- my starting version was Nougat VNS-L31C432B381
- now I'm on VNS-L31C432B160 (B160 isn't for dual sim? i have the single sim version) stock recovery bootloader locked
- updater try to install VNS-L31C432B370 (instead of B371?)
- if I try upgrade throught updater SN became something like ndr90 test key
- I tried to restore data, syste, vendor, oeminfo ecc.. from backups made with TWRP in Nougat (maybe wahile i was on MM, I'm not sure). It show the correct SN but ROM was still unstable
- I thought to try install full Nougat ROM but i didn't find any package
Can someone help me?
Thank you
The B37x update that the phone automatically finds after rollback doesn't work and will take you to ndr90 test key as you found out B160 is dualsim so you should flash the 161 one. Then use this guide to update through firmwarefinder/proxy https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/how-to/how-to-b388-nougat-maybe-b381-guide-t3612072
If you want to unlock your bootloader you can also flash B3xx through twrp. If not, the guide above works fine.

Hi Mara-X and thank you for you answer.
After I write the post i found the B161 package and i decided to give it a try. After flash (all ok) I launched updater again and it download the B371. The update went well and now i'm updating at B381 again throught updater. I think, when it was done, i'll factory reset the device for a clean install. So it seems the problem was B160/161 -single/dual version.

Not getting any OTA, stuck on MPHS24.49-18-4

Hi all, I have an XT1575 version P3C and it works great but is saying there are no software updates available despite being stuck on MPHS24.49-18-4 which, as far as I can tell, is one Android 6.0 security update behind and also missing the big update to Android 7.0. I downloaded the .zip for the Android 7.0 OTA and tried flashing it via the recovery but it didn't work since I'm coming from the wrong version. Is there any reason my device won't "see" the newer OTAs? Is there an intermediate .zip I need to download and install via recovery to get it to the version required for the 7.0 update? As near as I can tell this phone is totally unmodified with a locked bootloader. No TWRP or root.
Thanks.

Will those zips be flashable through my stock bootloader from the internal storage, or is the ADB/fastboot option the only way to go? All of these "flash a stock ROM" tutorials seem to be assuming I have rooted/BL unlocked/TWRP/etc.'d my phone when that isn't the case. I'm just trying to easily go from one stock OS to a newer one.
EDIT: I'm an idiot. I didn't see the how-to. Thank you for the succinct informative post.
