2nd Sim Card Slot - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

Are there any US carriers whose Sim card will fit in 2nd Sim card slot? AT&T and T-Mobile don't fit.

Why don't they fit? Both sim slots have the same network bands.

The US variants (included the unlocked models) are NOT dual sim devices.

Neither has a card the same size as the slot. Either too big or too small.

I have dual SIM. Att sim fits in both slots. Perhaps you have the wrong type of sim.

Perhaps you are trying to put the second sim onto single sim version tray.

Been to 3 different AT&T stores no luck. Guess I will just put an SD card in the 2nd slot.

Thank you for that very helpful response. I know what type of device I have. It indeed is a dual SIM.

I would doubt the tray is because on the dual sim tray the same size card fits in both slots
So either you have the wrong tray.. Or you have a single sim phone

That's the clue right there.
On the box you will see two IMEIs.
Mine has DUOS on the box as well.
The tray for DUOS can accept dual sim cards or a single sim and microSD card.
With 1TB storage the need for the microSD is moot except perhaps if the need to transfer a lot of data.
For most transfers, wifi5 and airdroid suffice.

My sim tray is exactly like this
https://www.google.co.th/search?q=s...biw=412&bih=771&dpr=2.63#imgrc=wAlKBc0SGWlfdM
There should be no problem at all fitting both nano sims.

Can't really tell if you are being sarcastic or genuinely trying to be helpful. But yes it is a dual SIM card model, it has 2 imei #, under setting it shows the empty 2nd Sim card. No card fits in it. I'd accept it was my not knowing how to put a Sim card in a phone, even though my S8+ was also a dual sim model, if I hadn't been to both AT&T and T-Mobile stores and no one could make it work. Really glad you got yours to, but it doesn't fit in my device.

Calm down man. People here are trying to help you. Since almost no one here has ever had problem inserting sim card, and you don't tell us much about the detail, we then assume you have single sim variant, wrong sim tray, etc.
It would be a lot easier if you just take a picture of your sim card tray and post in here so we all can understand what really happen.
If you cannot post picture or whatever other reasons, just cut the sim card to make it fit. I used to cut many normal sims to micro sims and micro sims to nano sims in the past (nowadays, all operators in my country make 3 in 1 sim cards that I can pop out whatever size I wanted).
However, I am absolutelyx3 certain that nano sim fits S10 second sim slot.

The sim type for both is the same. So if your card does not fit in slot 2 I can only assume the wrong sim carrier has been supplied
I would either goto a Samsung experience store or talk to the supplier of the phone and advise them and try to get another sim carrier from them
But there is certainly no need for a different type of sim

Amazon. Pretty sure it's the right tray. The slot says microSD/Sim 2. Will take the advice of previous post and take it to a Samsung store. Not a huge deal it was just convenient to have 1 phone instead of 2 since I work on sales and have customers calling all the time

Sim card compalitiblity from infuse to S3

I want to remove the SIM card from my still working Infuse and put it in my s3. The problems is that sim card in the new S3 is about half the size as the older standard Sim card. Do I have to go to the ATT store and have them program a new sim card that fits my S3 with my new number?

i used a micro SIM cutter and cut my existing SIM card to fit in, coming from my atrix. just wanted to try it. i could connect to network but could not get data. so i just activated the micro SIM it came with instead.
why didn't your phone come with a micro SIM?

They should. They may charge you the $36 'activation fee' for the new SIM.
I'm fairly certain you need a new SIM due to the GS3 being LTE, and the Infuse being HSPA+.
I just made the switch, myself, this morning...from Infuse. What a difference!!!

The only places that will charge you for a new sim are "authorized" sales channels, not corporate owned AT&T stores. Go into ANY corporate AT&T store and you'll have a working SIM in a few minutes, no questions asked, free of charge. They'll probably ask to play with your phone or try to sell you accessories though.

AT&T specific question

I have been with sprint for a long time and never had to mess with sim cards. I am now with att and I have a question about sim cards and activations. I have an android phone right now with att that I am going to replace with the note 2. Can I just pull the sim card from the current phone and put it in the new one? Or do I have to take it into the att store? Also does this cause an activation fee?
Moved to Networking section.
You can just switch the SIM. If it's an already activated SIM (meaning it had service in the prior phone) there should not be an activation fee.

Thanks for the info. That is what I was thinking but I wasn't sure.
Yes, one of the great things about gsm/sim cards. Easy swappable. If your current phone uses standard mini sim, you will need to cut it down to work in the note2/other newer phones that use micro sim cards.
Currently using the original note. So I don't know what kind of sim it has.

You Will need to go to the store. Note 1 has A regular sized sim and the Note 2 takes a Micro Sim you will need a smaller sim but sims are free.

Your can use a SIM cutter. No need to go-to a store. Just be careful and follow the instructions. I've used it twice on various phones.

Just insert that to any unlocked phone you want,
Our policy at at&t is if its a gsm it's possible,
No fees for device transfer since we have a SIM number as a basis of the account not the IMEI or ESN
this post is approved by the national potato safety regulation
I have changed phones before and just changed the sim from one phone to the next. I also went to att when another phone took am smaller sim and the att rep got a smaller sim and updated it and handed it to me and said have a nice day. I love att's customer service.

You have to have the correct size SIM card (the N4 uses micro SIM). If you don't have the correct size, then you can just go to an AT&T store and ask them to swap you out with the size you need. It should be free.

Who's attempting for 2 sims and a sd card together hack ??

All must be aware that S7 is capable of using 2 sims as well as Micro sd card at same time as demonstrated by user at
http://bgr.com/2016/03/24/galaxy-s7-tricks-dual-sim-microsd/
Any one successfully did this hack ??
Or going to attempt??

Little risky but gonna try sometime.
One pro-tip: To save your battery usage its recommended to use one sim as battery drain will be significantly much faster with 2 active sim cards. But that's just me.

I just did it on my SM-G935FD (S7 Edge dual sim). Works well so far.
see my post http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/help/insert-2-nano-sim-micro-sd-card-t3342709
Hmm is the S7 used different from the 'normal' G935F? I thought there are different types with dual sim and without... i also do not have a tray with dual sim. But i wonder if i could buy a tray and have dual sim. Stupid question maybe, but the link does not refer to a basic dual sim s7 edition. They just write s7.

Do the 2 trays have the exact same size and be inserted in any S7 edge phones? Cause I'm in Europe so my tray can't accept 2 simcards at all, it's 1 simcard and 1 sdcard.
Cause if they are of the exact same size, I'd like to try and buy one and try this

The user dbux stated that the problem is not the tray, but the phone. According to his point of view, only FD models have pins for the second sim. I'm very confused!!

Obviously you need the dual sim fd model to try this, they're only sold in asia. Dont try anything.

We know that this can only be done on dual sim fd phones. Vivelafrance and I would like to do a different thing. What? We would like to insert the tray of FD model in F model to see if F model read two sim cards.

Then modify the sim tray with a knife so a nano sim fits in the sd slot, still don't think it'll work though.

I dont think dual sims are normally sold in the US. I purchased my from hongkong. Although i live in the UK i do like to use dual sims. However samsung s7 has one big problem. You can either use 2 sims or 1 sim and 1 sd card combination.

Yes I know dual sims is not big in US. This unit will be sent to my family in India hence the dual sim question. There is a hack to use 2 Sims plus microSD card but that's for later. Right now I want to know if there is a way to use two sims on my phone's model.
Thanks!
