(solved) LG G2 D802 always boots into recovery and is not recognized as fastboot - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have installed many custom OSs on my D802, but this time I am stuck.
The phone always boots to recovery (TWRP 3.3.0.0).
I am trying to install any OS (ideally LineageOS 16) but I am unable.
What I have tried:
1) Copied the lineage-16.0-xxxxxx-nightly-d802-signed.zip to the internal card and installed it from there. All completes well but phone still boots into recovery
2) Tried to install it with ADB and Fastboot:
- ADB devices sees it as '09824281 Recovery'.
- When I boot into bootloader, fastboot devices does not see it at all (even though I have installed the USB drivers)
3) Tried to use ADB SideLoad, but the installation of lineageOS-xxxxxx.zip fails after 3%
Can you please assist?
Thanks in advance

Fixed!!!!
I found a thread that helped:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/help/recovery-bootloop-ota-update-to-nightly-t3555149
It consisted of typing a command in the TWRP terminal.

When flashing goes wrong....A cry for help

I rooted my Nexus 7 months ago, but today I decide I wanted to try a new ROM and was wiping by data and system partitions for a fresh install of CM10, and I accidentally chose format all data. So my device is wiped except for TWRP.
Im in TWRP and when I run "adb devices" from my pc I get the following...015d2994a62bf403 sideload
but when I tried to use adb sideload, but i get the error "failed to write data 'protocol fault <no status>'
I'm screwed here...
You are not screwed, you still have a working bootloader (which I presume to be unlocked).
If the recovery keeps coming up in sideload mode after re-starting it, try soft-booting a recovery instead of booting it off the (previously flashed) recovery stored on the device
(with fastboot/bootloader showing on the N7)
Code:
fastboot boot recovery-image-file.img
This will certainly let you use a newer recovery as well if you want.
If that works and your drivers are correctly set up, you can push a file
(with soft-booted recovery running)
Code:
adb push My-Favorite-ROM.zip /sdcard/My-Favorite-ROM.zip
and then if that completes successfully, flash that ROM.
good luck

Stuck in CWM - device not recognised

Hi
I flashed CloudG3 rom under CWM, and after install it won't boot the system - it sends me to CWM recovery instead.
Figured I would install another ROM but my device is not recognised by windows (won't show up under my computer). Can you please guide me on what I could do to sort this?
Thanks
Install the lg g2 drivers to get recognised by the os, after you download driver for adb sideload and restart, run sideload in the recovery with the usb pulgged in ur pc.
Open Android folder, and then do to platform-tools, drag a ROM there to be installed. Open a command in this folder. Write what is in the cellphone, adb sideload romfilename.zip if i'm right, then it will start installing and then you get out of the recovery stuck.
Using TWRP.
Hi
I installed lg drivers but it didn't help - looked like it was CWM that was causing an issue to get the device detected by computer.
Before you posted, I followed the instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2739739 - this helped to get TWRP on top of CWM. Under TWRP, the device is detected by windows
Now should I install a rom using your guidance above or can I do it under TWRP? Or is it the same?

Rooted but stuck on boot screen

Hi all!
Fairly new to rooting & flashing on Android - but I've done so successfully in the past on an older device.
Not fully happy with OxygenOS (wanted to flash a Cyanagen ROM) - but I'm having some trouble getting everything to work.
Here are the steps I followed and results:
Put OP2 into Developer Mode & enabled USB debugging
Connected OP2 to MacBookPro via USB
Opened Terminal on Mac & ran "adb reboot bootloader" to reboot the device into fastboot mode
One in Fastboot Mode, ran "fastboot devices" via Terminal to ensure it was readying my OP2 (everything is fine here)
In Terminal, ran "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" (I had previously downloaded a copy of TWRP into the same folder as ADB & Fastboot & renamed the TWRP image to "recovery.img")
In Terminal, next ran "fastboot boot recovery.img"
Once it booted into TWRP, I navigated to the SuperSu .ZIP file saved on my OP2 and ran through the install process...and rebooted the device.
This is where it hangs on the boot screen - It's a red dot with 2 white dots circling around it.
(I tried to add an image of the screen to this post, but it says I'm too much of a newb to be able to post images
It's been on this screen for at least 30 minutes now - and I'm thinking it shouldn't take this long at this point (but I could be wrong).
Can anyone please help me?
Thank you much in advance!

recovery twrp does not install any ROM

Hello everyone
as an object the twrp does not install me any rom.
I tried everything.
I can only enter bootloader and recovery and fastboot commands work.
the installation process seems to be successful, but when I reboot, recovery always comes back to me.
1.) I deleted and then reinstalled twrp via adb, nothing.
2.) I used the adb sideload command to install the rom nothing, I always restart the twrp
tips?
