G6 US997 out of date - LG G6 Questions and Answers

I bought the LG G6 during the Summer of 2018 from Amazon and it came with Android L and the September 2017 security patch. Now it's basically May 2019 and I'm still stuck on the Sep.2017 update and android L. The phone is starting to show problems and it often becomes slow and laggy(especially when low on charge). How can I update my phone and make it as fast as it was before? The other models have already had their upgrades. I can't find ROMs either and I don't want to take any risks. My phone is not rooted.

Do you have LG Bridge?

I thought it was stupid to ask someone if there are differences between different factory units, untile I saw that this guy got 2 different models!!
really looking forward to know if he spotted something
+1
Well, absolutely no difference except build quality. The present one still has some minor build quality issues, but nothing to worry about.
I bought my phone directly from HTC a few days after they were available.

H850 European version purchase

I want to get the H850 European version looks to be my best option for a unlocked boot-loader and unlocked carrier phone as all the H830 G5's in my area are still locked to T-Mobile and Titan color H830 seem to be non existent.
So I check on eBay and found a H850 but after contacting the seller and asking if it is the European version and finding out it is a US version?, I am back on the hunt...
So how does one find a H850 European version to purchase here in the US?
I would recommend taking a look at Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.de to check if they ship to the US, as if they do, you can order the phone there and this also means that you'll definitely receive an unlocked European version of the phone.
My suggestion being an owner of an H850 is to pass on this device for now and possibly look into the Note 7 or LG V20 once it's released. Aside from the hardware being great there are really no projects being seriously headed right now. CM13 is a long way off on account of camera drivers and system framework issues and the modified stock roms really have no performance value since they are basically just stock with a few app changes here and there. There's also no kernels with overclock or other features. I wish I had looked into this more since rooting with Xposed is really the only software benefit I've managed to muster. I should've just opted for the T-Mobile variant since they have root and then I wouldn't have overpaid $200 for the 850 (purchased for $600, ouch).
if u know someone in the uk the EE store sells the G5 at a bargain price of £399 / $520.
you would need to purchase a £10 top up voucher then register and then use that credit to pay the £8.99 unlock code to get the phone unlocked for any sim.
Short of buying a Chinese import with lacklustre skinned software and bad support (LeEco, ZTE, etc) this is a bargain for a 2016 flagship.
Thanks for all the replies. I am still looking for a H830 Titan Unlocked LG G5 but they seem to be a rare one for some reason....
The search continues...
Ended up getting a new H830 already unlocked for $400 in Silver. Was hoping for Titan but silver will do.

Updates ?

I can get the LG G6 H870DS 64Gb dual sim variant for 400 euro. This variant gets the Hi-Fi Dac so many people want. Many people say this is a bargain but can I get an honest answer ?
Has this phone gotten good support on the update spectrum?
Is it still stuck at 7.0 Nougat ? And has it gotten security patches ? I have the LG G4 and let's just say I'm dissapointed.
Hi
For the moment yes it is still on Android Nougat but it receives the security updates (the last one is "August 2017").
And it doesn't include wireless charging, if that is important to you. Also, most dual SIM phone can only connect to LTE on one SIM.

That's great but is it on all LG G6's ? I've seen stories of people being stuck on different patches.

The dual SIM variant you are refering to is. That will be coming from eglobalcentral.eu or similar and they supply either Hong Kong or Taiwan version both of which are on the August security patch as current.

Got mine from Dubai. It is the 64GB one and has the Hi-Fi DAC (same as the Indian version).
Still no sign of September security patch though...

Security

Hi. Anyone know how serious it is that in October my G6 plus 4/64gb XT1926-7 RETLA OPW27.113-25 This one has the security patch for March?
My information and the device is at risk? Is it compensated for the fact that I have paid Kaspersky antivirus updated?

Difference demo phone vs retail version? Will it ever do OTA?

I bought a demo Essential Phone off ebay; works pretty good, and I really like the build quality.
In regard to the OTA updates; if I manually upgrade it to a newer version, do the demo models ever use OTA or do you always have to update them manually no matter what?
Any other differences between the demo and the retail model?

Think there was an older thread asking the same.
Demo ones get OTAs.
