I don't really understand how one should consider a phone's design is 'good', while the trend is going nowhere; same brick design from all manufacturers. I can say other things regarding its design's functionality, though.
First of all, I kinda made an oath that I won't buy any phone with a screen notch...or punch-hole camera. Its just plain lazy design, I think. Aquos & Mi Mix 1 put the front camera in the bottom bezel is good enough. Meizu 16s put the front camera inside a really thin top bezel, and I say that is brilliant and going forward in term of engineering. I had bad experience with Meizu's software (and 16s has higher price tag), Redmi Note 7 has issues with display, and other devices with similar price tag & hardware performance essentially sport a notch, so I get R3Pro after my Zenfone 2's unexpected encounter with concrete.
I like the position of the back camera since it looks more natural compared to horizontal or center arrangement. Does the phone wobble when I put it on a flat surface? I don't know because I totally don't care (ps: it's doesn't, if you put on the included silicon case).
Finally: the buttons. Realme separates the Volume Up & Volume Down triggers, which is good; and also put the Volume buttons in the opposite side of the body as the Power button; which is even better. I won't need to fiddle around trying to find the Volume buttons. Also, this design will mean that later when the phone got custom ROM development, I can just use 1 hand to 'squeeze' the phone to trigger both Power+Power Up or Power+Volume Down, to access the recovery.

I think it looks really pleasing. I would like to see the black variant in live shots though.
Looks amazing, will surely be my next phone.

Looks amazing....i think they nailed it.
For comparison maybe not quite as sexy as the U11 but way better than the note 8 and that big ugly black camera assembly.
sent from my Note FE, S8 plus (exynos) or S6
Jesus that Moroccan Blue edition looks like pure sex!
I think it's a nice looking device. I hate having to loose some of my favorite features (removable battery, IR blaster...), but at least they maintained the core features I like (Great cameras, superior Quad DAC) and even finally added an OLED display. In exchange for the losses (that I do lament) we good a nice looking device with a larger screen than before, but in a sleeker smaller body.
Overall, I'm happy. I say the handwriting on the wall and knew the V20 would likely be the last flagship with those features.
It also looks like LG might refrain from jumping on the, "lake it a $1000 device" bandwagon like Samsung and Apple are doing. Let hope that $750 MSRP is legit.
Picked up a black V30+ from korea via EBay. Coming from Xiaomi Mi Mix so the bazeless look is sort of underwhelming but much less thin and tall than the S8/+/note 8 which is a plus for me. Love the thin profile and the back looks very nice.
Camera bump really only noticeable to the touch doesn't rock at all when placed on a surface. I gotta say...the black is a prettier black than I've personally seen on any other phone. Does attract fingerprints obviously but not quite as bad as I would've thought.

Definitely not small. For whatever reason, I don't mind it too much, even though I'm coming from Xiaomi MI mix and galaxy s6 edge. The 4 bezels on this phone just seem more balanced than the galaxy or note, where the lack of side bezels sort of accentuate the top and bottom bezels (which are already bigger than the V30). I'm probably in the minority on this one though.

This here is what I'm interested in.
Design is really important to me and though it looks so bland in the pictures, everyone who actually HAS one says the design is decidedly different.
I have the HTC U11 which I think is...meh, the Mate 9 which was excellent and the Xiaomi Mi 6 whose ceramic and blue/gold are fantastic... But it's bezels, horrendous.
I'm really interested in the LG V30 and world love to hear from more owners what the design does for them.

I put a case on mine the day I received it so even though it is a beautiful phone, I really never think about it since it's covered. This is my preference so take it how you want.
Beautiful. Got it in Black, love it. Well... Is in a case now but I loved it when I opened the box

I think for the price it's not a bad device feels pretty premium and snappy being a android one device is a massive bonus with timely updates like pixel , my only gripe is location of the fingerprint reader a little low , and what's with all the wasted space at the bottom of the screen would look nicer being half inch longer seems a waste of space to me think could of squeezed 18:9 ratio with gap at top and big gap at bottom ,
Even so I got a free Google home worth £50 so makes device even more appealing ,

Awesome. Massive. And the black/copper version is a great match!
In which color ( black or white ) device look good
Definitely Black/copper looks so nice together

Yeah, I've got the black/copper version, looks very nice. Thick bezels, but they look like solid aluminium all around the phone, feels very tough and doesn't affect the aesthetics in my opinion.
copper black git up
reminds me of a 77 pontiac trans am and/or smokey and the bandit...time for a case..

5/5, very attractive. May look like the S9 on the front, but turn it around and it gets even sexier.

The new design is really nice, much better then my old XZ or Z3.
Sent from my H8416 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
As far as the design is concerned the devise is great. I really like this phone. And of course the absence of notch adds to the overall look. The back is gorgeous and i do not have any problem with the fp sensor position.
Hmmm...I'd much prefer it if it were XZ1 shaped, I can't see the attraction of the curves and swoops which people seem to getting over-excited about. The sides are too thin to get a proper grip on it. Still stupidly slippy like the idiotic XZ2, possibly the most stupid phone design of the last 5 years. Seriously, what is the point of a sloping off to the side screen? I'm disappointed that Sony have pandered to faddish & supposedly "trendy" designs...sniff...give me back the square blocky XZ1 shape.
Great internals and screen though.

So true. I upgraded from an XZ. It's really hard to get used to this phone. The slippy thin design, really big dimensions, how the volume button is above the power switch and not below, the loss of the beautiful, big, prominent and fingerprint-readable power switch from the XZ. The move of the logo from the top to the bottom. And last but not least, the curved edges that display awful "out of view-angle" noise (what's the reason then?).
I get why Sony kept and preserved their excellent design for so long, sadly the mainstream never did. It looked so professional and tool-sy. Functionally designed, making its aesthetics fully justified. It had an identity superior to any other brand. The new design is too far from the old. I still have hope in a renaissance in the future, Sony paying tribute to what made their phones be noticed. I've watched many reviews before buying the XZ3. And I agree to the awesome display, state of the art hardware and an absolute premium feeling. But that the design has improved I strongly disagree with.

Be aware of the rear glass...I dusted off my XDA account to post this . I'm now disabled and homebound, yet alas, a deep gouge in the camera glass. What's OP answer? Not covered by warranty, no estimate for repair, possible for a loaner device (maybe) with a $100 deposit.
This is with the carbon fiberish case...
BUYERS BEWARE
Unfreaking believable
Too lil too late , but I found a 5 pack of screen protectors on Amazon for like 6 USD . Probably a good investment once fixed .
Yes very nice, have the blue back, so nice all I want is a clear case.
The phone is beautiful, i have the blue one and i love the color, sometimes it looks gradient and i really love it. But the camera circle is really ugly
Thin and tall allows for much better 1 hand use. Ma not worried about dropping the phone, so much so that I use a case designed for grip and aesthetics over protection

Spartan, but that's okay
I appreciate the Pro1's understated aesthetic.
If I leave the keyboard hidden, most bystanders think I'm using a Samsung device. I like that the screen doesn't have a notch, and that the device's casing is a plain black color. That being said, the blue of the upcoming Pro1-X is pretty attractive.
The "designed by F(x)tec, London, UK" is a charming touch.
Receding hairline?! I'm almost 60 years old and have a full head of hair still, and no greys, thank you very much.
Anyway, onto the Pro1. I considered the Cosmo Communicator, but didn't like that chocolate bar type keyboard and the fact that the screen is inaccessible while it is in the closed position, so I plumbed for the Pro1.
I was one of the lucky few who ordered the device through a third party (Clove Technologies) and received it before Christmas 2019, much to the annoyance of some of those that had pre-ordered - oops.
Despite having to return the first device, because it died just after 12 months of use, I have been very happy with it.
As dave.liao has said, it looks just like a Samsung to anyone watching. Then *BOOM* you flip open the keyboard and they're like "WTF?"
For a prototype? I think the Pro1 has a very finished, final product look about it and despite being a little fatter than other phones, it's still thinner than my old Nokia N900 though, I find it very comfortable to hold. I've got mine in a Huawei P20 Pro flip case with extra holes punched in for things like the power switch, headphone jack and USB port. The case still gives room to flip the screen, due to the P20 Pro being thinner than the Pro1.
