I don't really into selfies, in fact I'd love to have a phone with no front camera altogether (Zenfone 6 2019 is perfect, but the price tag is above my budget).
With that being said, I still tried the front camera of R3Pro, and its just not up to today's standard.
Quality is fine, detail is fine, but the emulated bokeh is horrible, even in outdoor. Hair edges get smudged is okay since its too thin, but the software also softens ear tips & top of your shoulder sometimes. You have to find the perfect distance to get a good shot.
Compared to Xiaomi's software (even on cheaper phone like Redmi S2), the Realme's front camera portrait mode feels like an unfinished product.

I have to disagree. I am coming from LG G7. That hollow sound has to do with Boombox speaker bass reflex empty housing beneath the back glass cover. Same as on G7 Thinq.
Just got it and inboxes. Incoming opinions. First impressions : THIS PHONE HAS SUPER QUALITY! 3 types of NFC - credit card clonning for payments on every single POS, insane cameras, insane camera software, video portraits, insane hapric feedback, insane display, insane back cover design, insane battery, insane front cameras, slow motion, live in YouTube from camera software, and many many more. TV app that let's you scan TV posts just like radio app. Hdmi support. Insane Amp. 50ohm impedance mode not a problem even with my 37ohm headphones. Another league over g7 or g8. Never tought this.

It could be good or very bad. The selfie smear the skin especially the face like oil painting. You may look little young but sometime awfully obvious! I am not a selfie person, so just tried/tested few

Alright then. Personally I think it's very annoying. It was the first thing to do on each one of my device to turn it off.

Ugh, front camera is so soft.
Seems like there is a beauty filter on it, and I cant find a way to make it sharper.

When you're taking a selfie look to the top right out the Wand like icon. If it is yellow then there is a filter on.

Yea, i turned that off, still looks too smooth, or smoother than on say my wifes pixel 3a
Front camera is pretty poor. No details, it's all smudged together.

Agree with this....it's so fuzzy and grainy looking. Coming from a Pixel 3 here...
Coming from a S9 that had a naked front screen, I feel the front camera is at least as good in sharpness. I have a TG screen protector on this phone with no punch hole too. I don't do a lot of looking at me on my phone. I don't video call. The front camera is mostly a mirror for me when I have to check my beard stubble at 4 p.m. before a meeting or something.

Nice! not even kidding!
I'm coming from the oneplus 7t and i can agree that the front camera is pretty ****ty. Like worse than the 7t and oneplus is known for it's bad cameras. Hopefully a software update can fix that.
It takes selfies as if they were taken with a 2MP camera. And worse, it doesn't have autofocus.
For now (until One UI 3 comes out) the only solution for good quality selfie is GCam. This clearly shows that hardware is capable and software is ****. Photos taken with GCam are full of detail, no fake smoothing and great exposure.
Same goes with front facing camera. If taking portrait shots use Gcam.
Also under OneUI 3.0 the front cam + Samsung standard photoapp pics is not more than shi**y. I tried all
different setups, sunlight, lamps,...still bad.
Otherwise the newest GCAM produces sharp, crispy, colorful front cam pics.

I'm switching from a 7t. The Nord looks and feels like plastic, but I'll get a case and that won't matter. The action on the buttons feels similar to 7t. Missing the hardware ringer switch, which I will miss. That said, For the price, it's fantastic.
I miss the slide button as well; however, I didn't use it all that often, so when I do need it, I've gotten used to using the quick setting tile. I can access it while the phone is locked so it's a decent compromise.
As far as the feel, I'm ok with plastic. I'm using a case, so that helps also.
Edit: oh, I'm switching up from the 6T. So in some ways it's a downgrade and other ways it's a lateral upgrade rather than a full upgrade. The 5G speeds are nice, when I get them. I think in my area (DFW area of Texas) I'm getting mostly LTE since T-Mobile has a really good LTE base here. As far as 5G.
Awful. It's all plastic, the phone looks and feels cheap. The only real gripes I have with the phone is the LCD screen and the quality of the build materials. It's definitely not worth it, if I could go back I would buy another phone. If the development for the device was amazing then I could forgive some of the short comings, but as is it's a no-go in my book

This is a 1st day review for the 4GB/64GB variant, so hold on a bit for more updates!
Let's talk about Quality!
The phone is pretty big considering the ₹8000 price range. Sits well with the hand though!
When it comes to the body, I would say it's okish as it has one minor design flaw! I noticed one: The sim tray goes a bit deeper than the actual body which isn't visually noticable!
Other than that it feels pretty fine with the (gradient variant) back design language.
The build material seems solid too, being a single back panel which extends to the sides (making it more rigid)!
The speaker placement is odd for me, but good for gamers who play in landscape mode eventually blocking the sound if it were a down firing one!
