Measure data usage

Is there an app/utility that will measure my data usage?
I'm getting ready to go out of the country for a while, and want to stay on top of my usage for data roaming/billing purposes...
try using spb gprs monitor, i think that should do what you need.
Thanks! Looks like it'll do just what I'm looking for...
PocketMax PhoneAlarm also has a data usage monitor included, plus you get all the other benefits

[app] HsdpaKeepalive v0.1

Have made a app that keeps your hsdpa alive while u tether on your phone.
Target ip is hardcoded(google dns)
You have possibility to change packet size and ping delay that suits your needs.
Remember to make a excemption on juice defender for this program, if u want to use ping while screen off ability.
Originaly i made this app for my personal needs since i didnt find similar one from market, any feedback on bugs or features is very much appreciated.

Hi, you can download many firewall apps in playstore to block activities you don't want.
Gesendet von meinem MB526
Look for LBE Security Master here on forum, it is a multi-purpose security app, with antivirus, showing data usage on daily and monthly way, and you can even set permissions for each individual app as well.
Will blocking it using firewall hinder it's performance in any way?
I have turned mobile data off by default so i didn't notice it consumes data. Why does it need it? o.o

Any application for network traffic?

Is there any application to monitor the real-time network traffic? I have tried many applications like internet speed meter, float network monitor or some other network monitoring apps. But they all showing current upload/download speed and daily/monthly data usage. What I am looking for is since my internet bandwidth speed is limited and slow, I would like to know what applications is now downloading/uploading with the speed of ??KB/sec so that I can see it and close it down them running in background.
Thanks in advance.
I guess the title of the topic is kind of confusing. You can ask something like, data usage per app monitor or that type.

Not exactly what you want but you may try this:
open Settings > Data usage. Here you can see a list of apps and their corresponding data usage.
You can also tap on each app and select "Restrict background data" to prevent it access to the Internet using mobile data connection.

Thanks for all ur answer. May be u all got me wrong. Let me explain a bit more.
Let's say if my internet speed is max at 64KB/sec. If I want to download the file with max speed or want to load youtube video with full speed, I dont want to let other applications running in background and taking certain porting of my network traffic and making everything jammed. If I can have such applications (DU meter, net meter)in windows, I can see what is currently running such as ( windows update, antivirus update), then i can stop them and let my desired application run at max speed. Even though my device is multitasking, i cant do multitasking in network due to network speed limitation.
I hope you all can understand my problem.
I don't think there is an app that limits its allocated bandwidth. I know it's not the same but, WifiKill is useful if you are dealing with other people using the wifi, but other than that I don't think an app that controls the bandwidth on a per-app basis exists.
I wish developers can do that in future.☺

App power Monitor effectiveness?

Hi all,
I was checking various threads on how Battery Management apps, maybe CleanMaster even has not much effect on the battery life because Android M and above already has a decent method to do this.
Now that I have the S8, I had the Battery --> Power Monitor App enabled always.
Do you guys think that this App from Samsung has a real effect?

Looks like it automatically puts apps to sleep after 3 days if they were not being used. I personally don't think that this App Power Monitor is doing much to save battery life. I left it on default setting of turned on.
When we use an app and after even closing the app, it may become stuck in the memory and consume resources, so that is when we see decrease in battery life and the device may get even hot. If the app hasn't been used for some time, there is no reason for it to consume battery life unless it was written improperly, has a service that is always in memory and listening or waiting for some notification. Example Navigation app while not in use, should not consume much, but app such as Facebook/Messenger will.
For me, to improve battery life
uninstall all booster, cleaner, battery saver and anti virus apps
uninstall facebook and messenger (terrible apps) and instead use facebook on web browser like chrome and allow fb notifications on the browser
and instead of killing, fc or disable apps etc.. , disable wifi Bluetooth and nfc when not using them, set gps to battery saving mode and on gps settings under enhanced precision disable bluetooth and wifi search options. Try to let the brightness of the screen not too high and uninstall apps you never use
Best way to improve battery is not with a magical app but you
