[Hard Problem] Not Showing anything but boot screen!? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Alright guys, i have never had any phone that i could not fix either hardware or software.
I bought this phone few years back on ebay from Korea for my dad its Note 3 SM-N900L and it used to work fine everything until my dad decided to take it on his holiday to India it suddenly stopped working there and since he doesn't know much about techs so he took it to the shop where he was told it is something they could not fix. Whilst speaking with him i told him don't worry just don't let them take the phone apart so bring it back and till then buy a temp phone which he did and he brought it back.
Now i have this phone and the problem is it boots show The first startup logo but after that nothing when you touch the screen it does give you haptic feedback and sound showing it works but it doesn't show anything at all!
I tried flashing old ROM didn't work.
I tried flashing custom rom didn't work
I tried flashing Korean Custom rom didn't work
I tried flashing different custom roms from various sources it didn't work
I tried Stock Roms Korean and Non-Korean yet they did not work!
As I didn't know what to do with this thought i'd ask help here see if we can get some help here please feel free to share your suggestion i am willing to take risk.
Kind regards

What about TWRP recovery does that work .
Odin where is it failing .

TWRP didn't flash any i think last time i tried gave me some problem so i choose to stick with the normal i'll try this if you want do you have any specific ones in mind please do let me know i'd gladly flash.
Odin did not fail, it goes through completely for the stock ROMS but the problem persist whilst the first Android boot logo is removed i can't seem to see the Samsung boot logo or anything after that.
I have no clue what is going on here, why its happening and whilst touch works and display works where does the problem lie?

I flashed ODIN it doesn't show any info it used to show download section in korean language now it doesn't even show that section anymore. after holding the enter download mode combinations i've to wait a second and by guesstimate have to press vol down button to enter download mode in order to flash anything...
Any other ideas please feel free to drop them.

Use a diffrent Odin version.

Try flashing stock firmware from sammobile.com using odin make sure the model matches the one you downloaded

Usb cable change

Try cold booting into Odin
Just power off your phone and unplug any cables
Then take out the battery and do not put it back plug the USB cable in and then just boot in Odin normally and flash stock rom
---------- Post added at 05:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:27 PM ----------
If that didn't work either try flashing this http://www.mediafire.com/file/x4jlkvxdr3revzo/N900LKLU0GOC4_N900LKLU0GOC4_LUC_4files.zip
IMPORTANT put every file in the zip in the correct order in Odin it says in the name each partion it should be in

How with no power and no cables ??
PC cannot see usb connection and neither can Odin.

I'm sorry forget to say put cable back in I appoligize but do not put the battery in

Repeat No battery
Odin cannot see phone on ID com so it can flash nothing ever.
Tested failed twice as it cannot see anything to connect to .

If cable is plugged without battery it still can read and flash it is a cold boot look it up cause the PC is providing power instead of the battery

Sorry tested twice as you said.
Odin cannot see the dead phone.Odin flashed one second later shows fail .
Phone been out 7 years and this is the first mention of cold boot I have heard .likewise s1 2. 3 etc
YOU could of course provide evidence of this wonder method of cold boot as it would be very valuable to XDA Samsung users .

Don't start a new thread for your bricked phone & post here.
We will help you with every possible solutions.

Here are some quick tips :
(Here I'll use the terms like Download-Mode & Recovery-Mode, If you dont know what are they please click here. There "BOOT to RECOVERY" & "BOOT to BOOTLOADER" means how to enter into Recovery-Mode & Download-Mode respectively.)
A Bricked Phone May Have One or More (Below Problems) :
1. Booting to the ROM(Android) not possible.
2. Booting to the Recovery-Mode not possible.
3. Black screen or Bootloop(Repeated Restarting of Phone at Boot Animation or Samsung Galaxy Y Logo).
Possible Solutions :
(Remember there'll be data loss using these solutions so always try to keep a backup)
1. If you can still enter into Recovery-Mode
(a). Try to clear Data & Cache then check.
(b). Try Installing a Custom ROM using CWM(ClockWorkMod Recovery) & check.
(For Custom ROM & CWM Visit here.)
2. If Recovery-Mode didn't helped Enter into Download-Mode & flash an odin supported stock rom(using ODIN 1.84 or 1.85) from Doky73's Thread(Flashing Guide in 2nd post).
*You can inform me, if anything left out.
Note :
1. I'll be not held responsible for anything that happens to your phone.
2. Before posting try to search for similar type problems out there & try the solution, if that doesn't solve your problem then post here.

Ever tried re partitioning.... Ever flashed boot loader....
For info... Jtag or boundary-scan is used for testing & servicing high technology electronic boards...

just for info, jtag will not fix the problem. IT IS SCANNING.. like trouble shooting.
that only means that those technicians are pretending to be well educated but the truth is that they only wanted to get some cash out of your pocket.

this one will a little bit off topic...what is creedsix?is it a rom for SGY?
if the phone still can boot that means everything is fine. pull out the battery, wait 10 seconds, reinsert the battery, do three magic combo button, you'll enter recovery mode. don't worry about our bootloader. our bootloader is stored in different partition thus installing any custom rom won't affect our bootloader. as far as i know, there is only one person who have messed up with bootloader and got an ultimate hard brick.

a hard brick is when our device doesn't respond to power button.
the guy that I've mentioned above is doky73. he accidentally flash a bootloader for sgs2 into his sgy. last time he said that he send his sgy to samsung service center and buy a new one. I'm not sure if samsung has revived his sgy.
edit: I didn't to offend him but I think I've mispelled doky's username. edited.

whatever It may be... You should never mess up with bootloaders, if you don't actually know what's there significance...
Brief description on android starting process :
pbl(primary boot loader "boot.bin") executes first and then it executes sbl ...
Sbl(secondary boot loader "sbl.bin") is responsible for responding to combos...download mode.. Intercepting odin commands..... booting system...booting kernel.... Charging your battery while switch off... Etc etc
Harm anyone of them... And Your phone goes into lifetime hibernation, Hard-bricked.

Hi to all, it's only my second post but i have a major problem with my samsung s-5360. it's won't boot anymore, but it can enter cmw and recovery. This is what i did wrong i believe. At first i installed morocs 1.8 kernel on creed fusion version 3.1 and it wouldn't boot anymore, so i ended up using a back-up i made before with cmw. And it worked well and phone was booting again and was on stock again. ( because back-up was made with stock-version obviously )
Then i thought: well let's try repensis noob version. And installed it and there was also an update 2 and installed it over it as well before booting the os, maybe this is what i did wrong dunno .. But afterwards it didn't boot anymore and whatever i tried, restoring one of the 3 images i made, or using one of the roms posted here like Creed fusion 3.1 rom or Aurora 2 nor Chobits didn't work.
I also tried reverting to stock with odin 1.85 but when i connected my phone via usb to the pc, odin didn't see my phone. ( after selecting the 3 tar files in odin ) Maybe i'm doing wrong something there.
What i also have to add is that when doing factory wipe in recovery it says formatted E: but unable to format E:\dev10 and dev11. clearing cache is no problem and also cleared dalvik cache. Can you please help me out ? I know, it sounds very noobish but well, i have to face it because can't do it myself without help anymore it seems ... Thanx a lot in advance.
please make sure that you've installed the driver and plug the usb to computer only on download mode when flash with odin. dev10 and dev11 are the partition for data and cache. that error means something was wrong with your recovery mode. you'll need to install a fresh stock rom with odin.

to be precise: the guy was Doky73...
I was playing with different revisions of SBLs because on SGS2 some old SBL gives the possibility to reset custom bin counter via JIG. At a given point accidentally browsed SGS2 bootloader instead of SGY one...
But I did perfect job, the service center wasn't able to detect the cause of bricking, but they recovered my phone under warranty. (I think they're not reading this forum )

stuck in odin mode after failed root

Can someone please help me. I attempted to root my wifes i9505 (already done my own with no issues). It failed during flashing cf-root (CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.tar.md5)

EDIT: Doesn't matter, tried a different usb lead and re-tried the process and it's working now. Very strange, could have only been the lead I was using

Download the cf-auto-root again, just in case it was a bad download.
Then power off the phone then power it back on into download mode
and close Odin, re-open odin and place the cf-auto root.tar file into
the PDA slot in Odin.
Then plug usb cable into the computer and phone and be sure that the [COM:xx] lights up & start odin.
Chances are good it will flash without errors.
Good luck!

Yeah thanks. I've flashed my phones ever since having the s2 and never had a problem as I research properly before doing anything.
I used the same downloaded cf-root for my own phone so knew that wasn't the problem. I obviously used a different lead for flashing my own phone.
Once I used the same lead on my wifes phone it worked fine. Just had to put the phone back into download mode and run through the odin process again.
I guess if that hadn't have worked I would have to flash a new rom using odin. Wouldn't have been ideal, I hadn't backed up any data - I needed to root before I got full functionality with titanium backup.
Anyway all worked out fine in the end. Hopefully, this post will help someone the future.

[Q] AT&T S4 wont turn on. Only vibrates.

Ohh, where to start. Ok so first off let me apologize in advance if this has already
been posted but I’m a noob when it comes top posting in the forums. Been using
them for years to fix my problems just new to posting. Anyway, a few nights ago I
tried to flash the newest version of the T-Mobile AOKP rom (Kit Kat 4.2.2) onto my
AT&T I337 Samsung Galaxy S4 via the latest version of TWRP recovery. After
attempting to flash AOKP, TWRP failed the flash and had an error message that said
something about the phone not being able to flash a T-Mobile rom on an AT&T
phone. I then tried to flash the AOKP rom again and mistakenly flashed the Loki
kernel instead. I was currently running Cyanogenmod 11. After the Loki kernel
attempted to flash, it once again said failed and gave me a message that said
something about me losing root and asking if I wanted to reinstall superuser. I
agreed to reinstall superuser and used the option to reboot my phone once it was
complete. But….once the phone attempted to reboot my screen went black and all
my phone would do is vibrate every two to three seconds with a blank screen. I
pulled the battery, tried to put it in recovery mode, and download mode but nothing
worked at all. It wouldn’t charge, no battery icon, no LED. After messing with it for a
few hours and randomly pushing buttons I finally got it to go into download mode. I
was so happy. I decided I would flash (Odin) a stock firmware that I had already had
and used plenty of times. But…after flashing Odin would say complete and pass but
when my phone would reboot it done the same thing as before. Black screen and
vibrates every two to three seconds wont charge, no battery icon, no LED, still won’t
go into recovery mode but will still go into download mode. I’ve used every version
of Odin, used different USB ports, different USB cords, reflashed the stock at least
20 times now and still nothing. What have I done and how could I fix this issue. :crying:
Ohhh and before I forget, It may be worth mentioning that when I finally got it in
download mode I noticed it said that I had the stock Samsung firmware, where it
usually says custom when rooted.
I'm assuming you're on MDL firmware. If so Odin flash the stock firmware. You can get it at sammobile.com
You're probably hosed though, sounds like you've tried all this.

First observation: nothing here says that he fixed it. If he did, which may not have happened, then he obviously didn't tell us.
I wonder if you really have the same issue. Did you read through the OP? Did your phone get where it is by doing the exact same sequence that he did? If not, and you want someone to help, you will need to give a detailed description of everything that led up to the issue you have, from the time the phone was operating normally. It would also be helpful to know what your phone was running before this happened.

Bricked S5 SM-G900F, cannot boot to recovery

Firstly my thanks to all the experts here - I'm a complete noob, yet I've managed to use the threads here to install a custom ROM on an old Sony Experia and more recently my Galaxy S3.
However, my S5 is sick and I'm stuck. Sorry to start yet another thread on this topic, but they mostly suggest things I've tried and in any case my head is spinning with it all so I'm starting afresh.
History: I was using the S5 as normal (RealCalc, IIRC - nothing exotic) and it became a bit non-responsive, so I restarted the phone. It hung at the 'Samsung Galaxy S5 powered by Android' screen. Tried again, same; took the battery out and tried again, same.
After much Googling and searching here, here's what I've tried:
Used Odin (various versions) to flash a recovery (can't remember which one). It appeared to work but on booting into recovery (power, home, vol-up), it hung at the 'recovery booting' screen.
Used Odin to flash a TWRP recovery. This gave me 'recovery booting (blue), recovery is not seandroid enforcing (red), set warranty bit: recovery (yellow) but still hung.
Eventually, after several attempted flashes, it booted into TWRP; the first thing I thought I should do was take a backup. It was late at night, so I left it backing up to the SD card (connected to USB power). In the morning, the screen was saying that the backup had completed ok, but the phone was completely frozen. Since then, it's never got past the initial boot screen
I also tried Odin to flash a stock ROM obtained from SamMobile. This failed right at the end (FAIL! (Ext4)).
I found a PIT file for the 900F, and with this and the stock ROM, got Odin to a PASS at the end. However, it still hangs on reboot.
The only thing that seems to work reliably is getting into download mode and flashing with Odin, but it never boots after that. I've tried other variations of the above but foolishly I didn't take notes and in any case they all had the same result.
Completely stuck. Would very much appreciate any suggestions.
Did you try flashing custom ROM?

(Ext4)).

No, I did download a CyanogenMod one, but I can't install it from recovery, as I can't get into any recovery now.
Are there any custom ROMs that can be flashed from Odin?
did you try to remove and format your extSD (possibly partly corrupted) and reinsert and flash again? Or change to other extSD?

Well, I removed the card completely and reflashed with Odin. No difference.
I can't flash from a ROM on the SD card because I can't successfully boot into recovery.
I suppose, you already tried to flash twrp-2.8.7.0-klte directly from here: https://dl.twrp.me/klte
and latest stock rom for G900F and your country directly from here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G900F/
via ODIN 3.10.7 from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711451?

I have, yes.
And earlier stock ROMs, and with earlier ODINs too, in various combinations.
Every time, the flash appears to work but it then hangs, booting into recovery. I get the blue 'recovery booting' line at the top, on the Samsung initial boot screen.

This video just shows starting up in download mode. Not sure how this helps. I can do this, flash a stock rom or recovery with ODIN, which appears to work (get PASS at the end).
Then on reboot to recovery, it just hangs at the Recovery booting message.

Appears to be, as I've said. It's the reboot to recovery after flashing that hangs.
I don't have access to a working G900F, unfortunately.
Well, it turned out to be hardware. Needed a replacement board, seems fine now. Thanks for the various suggestions, but none of them worked.

wow you have an identical problem with my device. Did you go to samsung service center or a unofficial service center? and may i know how much you spend to fix that? i'm afraid it'd be expensive for a student. thanks before.

I took it to a local (I live near London, England) Samsung authorised service centre and they replaced the board.
It cost me GBP 169... :crying:
Worse still, it turned out that it had a 2-year warranty, not the one year one that I thought it had. If I hadn't tried to reinstall Android, thereby tripping the Knox counter, it would have cost me precisely nothing...
An expensive mistake there - check your warranty carefully.

My warranty isn't valid since i bought a mint condition second-handed G900F from SG. I'm Indonesian. My knox is 0x1 today when i tried to fix that using boot.tar (i didn't know if it'd make my knox avoid! desperately tried every possibilities. Ended up sobbing to see that 0x1).
I thought the problem is on the software, not the hardware. So i'm bit shocked reading your statement that you replace the board. Hope the local service center near the city helps. Thanks for the info!

Well the thing is, flashing a new Recovery and booting into recovery mode isn't difficult - I've done it several times with other phones, and it's a straightforward procedure.
So the fact that the phone wouldn't boot to Recovery was (in retrospect at least) a bit of an indication that all wasn't well with the hardware. I wasn't messing with the phone when it failed initially, either - I was just using it.
Booting to the stock recovery was the first test I did on the repaired phone, and it worked fine. I'll be leaving the ROM as stock, though, till the warranty runs out.
A bit strange for the board to just stop working though - I've looked after the phone very carefully since new.
Is it common with the S5, does anyone know?

Er, did you read my earlier posts? #14 and later.

Samsung galaxy note 3 - n900 PIT issue.

Greetings,
Yesterday I was about to change my current rom as my phone was running on a custom rom that I found here on the forum with a CWM recovery.
So I went into recovery mode to make a nandroid backup for my device just incase of something bad happens.
When I started the backing up process it took a min or 2 to start and transferring the data and afterwards the device turned off and it went to a black screen with the android logo and it says downloading don't turn off target..
the thing is it still on that screen since yesterday and I can do anything about it because it took longer than the usual as the youtube videos showed me.
I tried turning off the device and turning it back on and still no luck.
I went to download mode to bascially flash a TWRP recovery or a root using odin to later on flash the rom that I wanted but I had no luck as every single time I try to flash something in odin it says "There is no PIT partition"
I looked up online and I found few PIT files and I tried again and its the same thing but it says re partition operation failed something like that.
after doing some research I found even If I flashed the stock firmware it won't change anything as the device won't accept it because of the PIT thing.
I really need your help guys, what can I do now ?
Try using different USB cables and USB 2.0 ports to flash a stock ROM with Odin.

I did and I still have the same issue..
I even tried a different computer and nothing really works, keep in mind that I have downloaded the official stock rom and tried to flash that too and I still have no luck.
I really need help guys :/
Find the correct PIT file and flash that or take for service repair .
Alright I'm writing this reply to whoever searches online for a similar problem.
I fixed my phone long time ago and the problem was ... "the phone USB port"
it turns out my port isn't really good as it had issues in the past and it was changed but I didn't know that until recently and I completely forgot about it.
I didn't fix my port though but how did I fix the phone ?
well it turns out even if your port was bad (depends on the ports condition of course) getting an original cable can help you flash something isn't big such as a root or a recovery mode.
in my case I used an original cable a normal micro USB but after using an original USB 3.0 cable I was able to flash a root and a custom recovery, yes I tried flashing a stock firmware but it I didn't work because of how my port is acting I was kinda limited to the things I can flash so I was able to flash small files but not an entire operating system.
So I flashed a root and a TWRP custom recovery in order to be able to flash an entire OS through the phone itself without the need of plugging it to my computer so I uploaded my custom ROM on an SD Card and flashed it through the recovery mode and I was back in business!
I can safely say the case is solved, I don't know if you guys close the solved topics here or something but thanks for everyone's help.
SEE YA LATER
But port is not PIT problem .
