Black Crush S10 Plus ? - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

I bought a galaxy S10 Plus recently and I already noticed the same problem of display as my old galaxy s9 plus, the dark parts are pixelated, the famous black crush, I am well stressed, I sold my s9 plus and bought the s10 plus only because of this problem, is there any way to resolve this without application? the screen balance spoils the image more than it improves.

Yes, the same thing remains...
Can you solve this? I used an application but if it closes it unintentionally the bad effects come back and it brightens the blacks but worsens the rest
Edit 1 :
I've done it until the hard reset did not solve it, I restored the original software from Brazil's sammobile site and it also did not change anything ... what can I do?

if you look well to see the background pixelated in the colors, it is getting worse every day ..

Is very bad...

I bought mine at a clear call operator in Brazil, the deadline for the default return is 7 days, I bought day 5 I think it's gone, will the technical assistance solve this without further problems?

That sucks. My S10+ doesn't have this problem. I hated that **** on my S9+.

Differences between Galaxy S

I noticed that there are differences between galaxy s.
The galaxy of my girlfriend has the camera with a different quality, lower. It recognizes the fact that if you look at the sensor, my, have color amber, while lower, has green tinges water-blue. The difference of quality is fairly sharp, especially with low light.
In addition, the feedback of soft touch buttons on my girlfriend's phone is much stronger, while mine are much low.The vibration, has exactly the same intensity on both phones.
The tests I made using the same rom on both phones.

haptic feedback and the cam quality.. well mate it can never illustrate that your girlfriend has a different Galaxy S .. maybe her phone has some camera problem, and the vibration intensity, she might have a different firmware (rom) installed in her phone!
plus for verification you can go to SETTINGS > ABOUT PHONE and compare the model number.. i hope it helps.. take care and have a good day!

oh well that's not a big issue.. take a chill pill!
Me and both my parents have galaxy S I9000's and I've noticed this too! Haptic feedback of the soft keys is low on one and high on another. It seems, after I just wiped my phone and updated to the latest version of miui, my soft keys also have really weak haptic feedback. It's odd but it must be a bug, I'm going to odin flash a stock Samsung firmware then cwm flash miui and see if it fixes it. I can't believe more people haven't noticed this?!
For the camera now i'm sure....Green camera's quality are lower.
I've tested 5 galaxy s with green camera, and i'm sure.
My photo test here: androidiani.com/forum/samsung-galaxy-s-i9000/69818-esistono-differenze-tra-2-gt-i9000-4.html
For haptic...it's complicate...My phone works well on MIUI/CM7, but, if i flash samsung rom, the trouble come back.I tried with alla rom..
I think that my phone worked fine when I bought it, but since I used odin, the feedback has not returned the same...
Mee too, I can't believe more people haven't noticed this... The question of camera are very important...

Well about the screen their isnt differences in screen , its just that they degrade acvording to how u use it. AMOLED screens are made of organic materials so they degrafe according to how u use it. If u have a blue wallpaper on 1 sgs for 3 monyhs and a green one on the anothrr ull notice the first ones colours degrading a bit slowly, and then their will.be damp patch soon.

Always on display and night clock issue

Hi guys
Recently I developed a problem where the entire screen is dimly lit when the night clock and always on display are used. It seemed to just happen out of nowhere, nothing that I did that I can think of but it sort of defeats the purpose of having it on an oled display if every pixel is lit. Phone is on the latest update, never rooted, and the always on display is at the latest version. I have tried everything up to a full factory reset. Any help is greatly appreciated.
One thing to add, I even tried flashing a new firmware through odin
I'm having the same problem. Did you manage to find a fix?

No. Seems that we're not the only ones with the issue but nobody seems to know anything about it. I was hoping the latest update would fix it, but no. My current theory is that it's a bug in the always on display driver, but that seems to be updated through the galaxy app store. If anyone knows how to revert to an old version of always on display, it may be helpful.
Well, spoke to Tmobile, getting a replacement phone.
Same issue here (it glowed in the dark); called TM for replacement. All better now
Thx for the tip.

Yea, it seems like a rare problem, but definitely a hardware fault. Oh well, got a brand new, non-refurb device, thanks to Tmobile. Glad it worked out for you.

J7 Pro AOD problem

Hi everybody. Recently I bought a J7 pro for several reasons, one of which was Always on Display, a.k.a AOD. However from the first night I used it as a night clock I could apparently see that the background of the clock and notifications is not black and has a faint light. The funny part is that the preview of AOD is fine with all the black pixels off, but when you actually use it, all the pixels are on. I asked several J730F owners and they had the same problem, however my device is J730G. Please test and report. Just remember the environment must be completely dark.

Hey
I have the same problem
I have a j730f/D's
It's really frustrating and I guess it drains the battery a lot
I also noticed the that the preview of the aod is perfect on all brightness levels
Maybe thats because the display panel uses different settings when real aod is on ( like udervoltage and lower refresh rate things like this but I am not an expert )
Also visible on 3rd party apps from the PlayStore
I guess Samsung is using some hardware tweaks there to optimise battery life
What I also noticed is when the real aod is set to full brightness because of the sunlight the screen really gets black ( you can try this with a flashlight or so )
But on the lowest brightness the screen gets grey .
Would love to know if this is just software related or hardware
Because if it is hardware I give it a try and send it back

That's exactly my situation as well. On low brightness the screen is unbearably gray, otherwise it seems to be completely black. I guess you can try sending it back, unfortunately I don't have that option.
3rd party apps sucks because they can't use this special display mode Samsung uses
Maybe I will send it back
But I am not sure about that I wanted to wait until an update is coming, maybe it's software related so they can fix it .
I also send an email to Samsung but I saw your post on the Samsung forum so I don't expect too much
With how many ppl did you talk about that problem that have the j730f ? I mean it doesn't make sense to send it back and get a new one if it is a problem for every device
I got the same issue on my J730G/DS. When on low brightness aod, i can notice the whole screen lighting up a little bit. But on high brightness it is completely black. I think all j7 pro have this issue. At least we could try to send it back to samsung and see if they will fix or even do something about this issue.

Unfortunately we don't have a robust Samsung representative here and I believe we cannot convince them about this issue. I believe you guys should go for the guarantee. This way at least you raise the issue to their awareness in practice.
I have the same issue too.
I've chatted with samsung and ask them to try this but they keep saying "All of our units are fine".

I found several threads out there talking about this problem. Generally the problem was with S7 and other Samsung flagship devices. In all the circumstances there, the problem only was fixed by changing the AMOLED panel. However here in J7 pro it seems that when the screen is well lit, the black is truly black and when the ambient sensor reduces the light the problem shows its ugly face. This problem was not mentioned anywhere in those threads I mentioned.

I don't wanna waste any more money on my phone. So yeah let see what will Samsung do. It's impossible that this is the AMOLED panel fault. Looks like the version of our AOD is a bit old. Try compare it with the A 2017 Nougat AOD.

Although I hope so and believe that j7 problem is different from previous problems seen on other faulty aods, but the way aod works is different from the way other aod apps work.
Hey guys
I've borrowed my friend's J7 Pro to see if she had this AOD problem. After I bring it to a very dark place, the AOD works like it should (No grayish AOD background). Guess it's a hardware problem. I will try to send it back to Samsung if I have time.

The AOD uses the ambient light sensor to decide what brightness should be used ( I think AOD only recognize Dark and Bright situation, just like most of the proximity sensors )
So because it's dark, the screen also adjust itself to dark situation. No grayish background is seen. I compare mine with her side by side and I can see the difference.
Another thing to proof that this is a hardware problem is that when you put your finger on the fingerprint sensor and it unlocks, between the unlocking process, you can see the screen flicker before it unlocks the phone. Same as when you boot up the phone. Right after when you press the power button and it vibrate, you can see a flicker before "Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro" is shown.

I will find some time to send it back to Samsung. The distance from My home to the nearest Samsung Service Center is very far, took me about half an hour with usual traffic. But they are usually traffic jammed, so I predict an hour trip to the SSC. Not an easy job though I'm very busy all day.

I have this issue ever since I bough the phone in early August. Not 1 but 2 unit, model SM-J730G/DS. Both show the same symptom. Do Samsung selling phone with defect amoled panel or poor software implementation? What the hell!
If you all notice, the official samsung's AOD app for our J7 pro is not available anymore in Play Store. Why they remove support for our device? Why? From the feedback there, a lot of j7 pro owner report about this aod problem...

Dark mode? not really

Then because people like you samsung gets out with everything, always accepting their bull.****, i had a samsung phone since s4 , on every android build some s.h.i.t thing happened.
And another thing why cant they fix their choppy animations? Getting really tired by every year, we pay big bucks for these phones.
You're right, they might have made it gray to save display from any burn-ins like they did by removing black navigation bar after few months of s8 release. The thing is neither s9 or s10 can be burn-in proof becouse all of them use an OLED displays. This move by Samsung definitely doesn't make much sense. By the way, you won't call it "black mode" just becouse the background is completely black, that's why it's called Dark mode

stop whining, switch back to oreo and install substratum. we dont care that one ui doesnt satisfy your "dark mode" needs.
My dark mode on s8 used to be jet black everywhere. But suddenly today it turned dark greyish and can't figure out for the life of me how did this happen

Dark bleeding - 1 month old

Hello guys, I'm new on Mi 9t, I have it since one month now.
I'm running 11.0.5 global (waiting for miui 12) and everything is working smootly (a part some heating problems and battery drain).
Yesterday I noticed a BIG strange spot on the right side of the display only when I have a black/dark theme (for example on Telegram) and when brightness/light around the phone is low.
I tried to googled it but I didn't find anything useful and still don't understand if it's software or hardware. I just get that is a common issue of AMOLED screen but in 2020 I don't get how this is not fixable lol.
Any suggest?
Thanks in the advance and I wish you a happy day!
Nope, every AMOLED is like that. Tested even on the S10 plus. No worries
